I agree it's a continuity error. It's very hard to explain away sometimes they do defeat themselves by making things up as they go.

It's been pointed out that they never made defined ages for Edenites and they wouldn't be the first peoples of the PRU to live past millenniums. It's just a weird quirk the PRU seems to have especially in the early seasons.

The Masked Rider Powers gave its user extremely long life. Lexian lived for an extremely long time and had a long line of children. Dregon was one of his oldest and was jealous of his father for the power and his near immortality. After Dregon was banished from Edenoi he found the means to not just build his own army but to achieve the long life he always wanted.

Along the way he butted heads with Zedd. The two had a long rivalry of trying to outdo each other within the UAE. Many years later Dregon returned to Edenoi and eliminated most of the royal line. Dex was the last heir and the son of one of Lexian's youngest children. Dex himself was not very old.

They were probably allies once and turned against each other. As evil members of the UAE tended to do. Specter encouraged in fighting when it wasn't one of his direct plans.

It doesn't seem that the two should have crossed paths before. They were just trying to tie it in for the team up.

not true. Rocky mentions Dex when they're in the Command Center when they're trying to convince Zordon to send a distress signal to Aquitar.

Its actually very possible that they were enemies and maybe even friends before that.
