The acting: Bad or clichÃ©?

Looking back on these old Masked Rider episodes (thanks, Poweranimals), I get to witness the quality of the actors with a fresh viewpoint. Where I thought the family was just unacceptably poor before, I think now that at least the parents were just trying to echo the typical '50s style TV family aspect. Molly was still weak by comparison, and Albee was just a kid, so you couldn't expect too terribly much.

So, what was it? Homage to old skool TV, bad acting, or maybe a little of both?
