The reason Thrax was in the past
 

We know Thrax battled Sentinal Knight a million years ago. That doesn't add up woth him being the son of Zedd and Rita. The Zedd and Rita leaving thread has got me thinking of a good theory.

Zedd and Rita sent him back in time as a young infant or child. They did this to protect him for some reason. And Thrax grew to be a tyrant in the past where he was trapped in the dumpster. By the time he was free his parents were alresdy Z-Wave. For some reason they couldn't retrieve him after the Wave.

Probably because retrieving him would mess with the timeline. He wouldn't listen to their purified forns once they were freed. You have a god theory.

I could see Rita hiding the pregnancy fron Zedd and sending him back in time to hide it from Zedd.

The interesting thing about this theory is that it means Thrax could have been born in MMPR and sent back in time then.

Of course the real reason is the writers were too lazy to keep their own story straight.

This theory makes more sense then anything else I have seen on the subject. People have suvgested time travel before. But it never made any sense why Thrax went back that far in the past. I wonder if Thrax originally had a different origin and they made him Zedd and Rita's son later?

I don't think that could have been the case. Since the Thrax suit was clearly designed to be a remindeer of Zedd and Rita. So I think he was always supposed to be their son. Its just bizzarre they gave him the beef with Sentinal that took place a million years ago. The funny part is that they could have just said the battle took place a few years prior. Sentinel can trapThrax in Rita's actual dumpster this way. But more importantly, it gets weird of the continuity headache.

I think he went to the past to take over early on and change the future for his own benefit.

The writers couldn't keep their fact straight. It was stupid that they messed up that badly.

Thrax was just crazy. He wasn't Zedd and Rita's son. He just happened to look like Zedd.
