Neo Saban's lack of good villains

It just seems like there hasn't been any memorable villians since they bought the show back. They have all been pretty generic. Even the ones that are original like Sledge.

Sledge seems fine to me. He had a memorable personality and was still a threat. Plus the Power Rangers had to use time travel to defeat him.

The villians have been bad since the Disney era. The only good one since than has been Venjix. But they even ruined him a little bit by the end.

Especially when they didn't have Dillion end up being Venjix's final form like originally planned.

to be fair you can't really do much if you don't shoot original footage of them of both in their lair (or ship) as well as on Earth.

not entirely true Mesogog was pretty good. As for SPD the only good one was Broodwing and as for Mystic Force the only good ones were Koragg, Imperious and the Ten Terrors but otherwise most of the New Zealand-shot-under-Disney-ownership villains were horrible. Vexacus was another good one but it's sad when it's the Generals who are usually the good villains.

Saban is too cheap to do gooe original villians anymore.

Its mostly the lack of original footage. Sledge was just a case of bad characterization and a poor design.

I would like a nice original villian in the vien of Astronema or Master Org.

I think Ransik was the last truely great villian.

in terms of overall seasonal leaders (you know like Rita, Zedd, Mondo, Divatox, Astronema, Scorpius, Trakeena) with a physical body that'd be Mesogog but without a physical form that'd be the Venjix Virus but leaders that weren't seasonal the last good ones were the Ten Terrors.

Re: Neo Saban's lack of good villains

Mesogog was overrated. He just snarled all the time and didn't do much. And then they ruined Mercer by making him not evil by choice. And to top it off he didn't even get in trouble for his stupid experiments!

I think they made Mesogog too scary for the kids.

Its funny because I originally thought Sledge was a sentai villain.

Seems pretty odd to alienate your target demo. I die like Mesogog as a villain though.

This has been one lf the most lacking things of the Neo Saban Era! And really was a problem for most of the Disney Seasons too. Even Venjix was overrated to me. So its been a problem for a very long while. It would be nice to have memorable villians again.

Deker was actually a very interesting villian, along with Dayu. And Deker was part American in his human form. He may not have been the main villain but he very interesting none the less.

fans were whining to Doug about how pathetic Lothor was so he wanted to really "amp up" how dark Mesogog was

Re: Neo Saban's lack of good villains

Doug thought kids wanted funny villians but research showed them they wanted a scary villian.
