That was part of the problem though. He shouldn't have beat Zedd so easily. It made Zedd look like a baffoon.

Which is exwctly why he was just as overpowered in season 3.

I don't care if he was over powered. They are the Power Rangers and Tommy is one of my favourite characters.

The White Ranger had too be more powerful to deal with the threats Zordon knew was coming. Of course the powers got taken out much too soon.

Behind the Scenes they just wanted a badass Sixth Rznger and to plesse Tommy fans. Plus use old monster suits in an original battle.

They did a better job in season 3. Except for Tommy beating Zedd so easily.
