View Full Version : [PR] What if we had a Ranger team without a Red Ranger?

I was wondering, what it would be like if we ever had a Ranger team without a Red Ranger? Who would be the leader? What colors would the team be?

Here is perhaps a possibility:

Pink Air Ranger - Leader
Orange Fire Ranger - Second-in-command
Blue Ice Ranger
Green Earth Ranger
Yellow Lightning Ranger

There's always gonna be a Red Ranger. Red is royalty in Japan and it's one of the primary colors.

Without the Red Ranger, I would never watch Power Rangers again.

If there was no red ranger I think the leader color would be Black or Blue. I could see white again.

definitly white or black. Blue is fit more for a second-in-command i just couldn't see it as a permanent leader color.

What about Pink? We had a Pink Ranger as the leader in Time Force.

I'd like to see a team without red for once. Hell, I'd like to see Toei do all sorts of mixing and matching with colors, just so long as the color combinations were aesthetically pleasing.

IDK i never really thought of pink as a leader.

No red on a Power Rangers team!?!?! NO RED on a POWER RANGERS TEAM!?!?!? WHAT would happen!!!?
Anarchy! Caos! Rioting in the streets while people strap steaks to their heads in protest! Crowds chanting "Power Rangers broke formula!!!" Next thing the Goverment calls Disney outraged by this and, threatens to shut them down or, set them up a bomb! Then the Vulcans come to Earth early upon hearing this news and, proclaim "You have no chance to survive make your time." A person says "What you say!?!" Vulcans reply "All your base are belong to us."

Seriously though, I think it could be interesting. Mabye either Green or, Pink as the leader?

Just wouldn't happen. But something close like Crimson or Orange would be cool.

Red, blue and yellow are permanent, primary colours in every season in PR. They're staying, forever.

Yellow isn't ever-present in Sentai. Never heard of Changeman? Black, Blue, Red, Pink, White.

Super Sentai and Power Rangers aren't the same show.

What has applied to pre-Zyuranger sentais doesn't necessarly apply to Power Rangers.

For example Battle Fever J had an orange warrior, but we treated Kat (loosely Boom) as the first orange ranger, for example.

For PR, we've had the three primary colours every season so far.

Without the Red Ranger, it wouldn't be the same.

No red ranger means it is not a ranger team

Pink's a shade of red.

But if a future Super Sentai season lacks a Yellow Ranger (assuming Power Rangers is still on the air), then Power Rangers will most likely follow it. The same would be true for Red and Blue.

Yellow is the most dispensable colour because that's been done before. But it was done in old sentai, and things in old sentai tend not to get done again.

Like the orange warrior and the all male team.

Purple warrior as well (Jungle Fury Wolf Ranger). Gekiranger is the only Sentai to ever use purple.

I've just spotted a problem. If Pink's the leader, that's the ultimate girly colour being the lead in a boy's show. At least if it's a red you can make them like not girly.

We already had a Pink Ranger as the leader, and that would be Jen from Time Force. It didn't seem to alienate most fans of the show.

First off, I'm a girl.
Second, I actually find it funny how people are debating over the possibility of another pink leading a team. Considering it's already happened.
Third, ... what? No one else thinks that a Green should lead except me!?
Fourth, I have nothing to add here other then to say. Posting numbering my points is interesting...

I don't buy all that about Jen being the leader. Umeko said she was the leader once, look what Ban did in the rollcall! Jen was a leader technically but Wes was called "Head Ranger" on the back of a video, whatever that means.

They'd probably just throw the term around like they do in Sentai.

I also like gold as a leader that seems natural.

Well, technically it happened three times, twice in Power Rangers, and another in Super Sentai. Technically Jen was the leader since the beginning of Time Force, but the role kinda slipped to Wes after he developed into a ranger. But Bandai basically F**ked that up. Also, the white Alien ranger, and then I slip to.....

Kakuranger, where the white ranger was the leader, but they still basically put red in the "honorary" leader role.

But, I can definitely see white as leader without a red, that just makes the most sense to me...

How, did they do that I don't remember?

Personally, I think it'd be cool, a new twist. It'd never happen, but it'd be cool. Not sure I like the color scheme you listed first. I think if they were all cool colors, it'd work, but I think we'll see a female red ranger(headlining the series) before no red ranger... I'd be all for it.

*facepalm* this thread is starting to go into the Jen vs. Wes debate. I think I'll just sum up the arguement in one post so that it doesn't overtake this thread.

Jen - Alex - Jen [Point of view for leadership]
- Jen is called the leader by Wes
- Alex realizes he's screwing up the team. So he relinquishes his morpher back to Jen.
- Jen reinstates Wes as a ranger.

Jen - Alex - Wes [Point of view for leadership]
- Jen is called the leader by Wes
- Alex realizes he's screwing up the team. So he let's Wes replace him by giving his morpher to Jen. Who then gives the morpher to Wes.

For the purposes of this thread I suggest that we just accept the Jen - Alex - Jen point of view. Not becuase I personally see it that way. Just becuase, Wes is never called the leader of the Time Force team. The only time he's called a leader is when becomes the leader of the Silver Gaurdians.

Alright with that out of the way.
I also like gold as a leader that seems natural.
A gold leader could be interesting too. It'd be cool if they got Trey back to lead.

Sorry to bring it up again, but I just wanted to know how it was Bandai's fault. They're in charge of the toy line, not necessarily the story...

I think they just messed up and wrote Bandai instead of Saban; I often get the two mixed up in my head. I think Bandai is capable of messing up the show, however. Somehow Bandai has managed to get its crappy, exclusive toys on the show again, and again, and again. I'm talking about toys like the TransTek Armor and the Strike Rider. Every time I've seen one of these monstrosities show up in the series, I've felt like throwing something at my screen. Imagine what it would be like for a kid that's still largely driven by emotion. I stopped watching the show for a whole season just because of Justin. If I could do that, then I could certainly see a kid avoiding the show for a season because of something like the TransTek Armor. If toys like the TransTek Armor keep showing up in the series, then the problem of kids not watching the show largely because of those toys starts to snowball.
