Mr. Silver's Interview

Hey Mr.Silver, this interview should be done in about a week. If something comes up and you're not going to be around please let me know, I will try to do the same.

So let's start with your username, how did you come up with it?

Not a problem! :D

First, I want to say thanks for taking the time to interview me. With that being said, I came up with my username for two reasons. The first is that I am a fan of ALL Silver Rangers and I needed something to symbolize that without being too over the top.

The second is weird because normally I hate being called Mr. because it makes me feel old. That's even a personal rule I have at the job since I'm younger than just about all of my coworkers but for some reason, Mr. stuck out to me when I was coming up with a new user name and then Mr. Silver was born and has been used on other PR sites for about 2 years now.

Which are your favorite PR seasons and why?

[Mr. Silver]

That's pretty easy.

#1 - Space - Easily the best season by far. It gave me all of the things I crave for in a PR season(character development, good action, solid writing and memorable characters). My only knock on it was that I wish the Zhane/Astronema relationship would be explored a bit more because I would have loved to see how that would affect how Astronema would operate if her "boyfriend" was on the other team.

#2 - Time Force - This season hits the #2 mark because of a lot of the same things that drew me into Space. What stood out in TF is how dark it was coupled with the Wes/Jen dynamic along with Eric who is one of my favs because of just how extreme and different he was compared to the other Rangers and to other Rangers in history.

#3 - Zeo - PRZ was a fave because it gave the others not named Oliver a chance to shine and they did it well for the most part. The signature moment for me was the debut of the Gold Ranger and the finale was my only complaint.

Ninja Storm and SPD round out my top 5 with RPM coming awfully close.

WHat about your least favorite?

Hmmmm.. let's see...

#1 - Without a doubt, Operation Douchebaggery. or Overdrive, whichever you prefer. lol. To me the season was the most hyped that I've ever come across with the biggest letdown. I just didn't like most aspects of that season except for Spencer and partially Tyzonn. Ty was even a stretch because Cameron's acting was so poor that it ruined the Ty character for the most part. Its only redeeming quality was that the women(including Mira) were smokin hot and OaR.

#2 - Nickstic Force - Another crappy season for me. The thing that drives me most here is that Disney had the potential to have a gem but basically making the whole season based on Nick killed it completely. Had this been Kamen Rider, then I probably wouldn't be complaining, but this is PR and the lack of focus the others had was nauseating. On top of that, the capes were garbage and the finale was uber weak.

#3: Wild Force - Aside from Reinforcements from the Future, Forever Red, and Merrick, I hated this season. it felt like a cheap copy of GaoRanger that lacked anything substansial that could keep me interested through the course of 40 eps.

Other than those...I either like the season or love it like the ones mentioned in my previous post.

I agree with everything you said there.

So, if you had to make a team of rangers from previous rangers, just like OaR, which rangers would you pick? and why?

[Mr. Silver]

Well, I had actually started writing a fic where I had six Rangers who were all from previous teams coming together with new powers and the six I chose were six that I felt would work best together and not six that I love the most.

First, I picked Cam from NS because he is a big brain with seasoned fighting skills to match. That's something that most "smart Rangers" can't claim and every team needs that brain for equipment/strategical purposes.

Second, I went with Kira because she's fierce and would fit in well with any team.

Next, I chose Karone for a few reasons. The first one is that she got the semi tenure as a Ranger and I felt she deserved a chance on her own accord. The other is because of her tenure as the Princess of Evil. It's more than likely that she still at least carries some knowledge of some evil force which would be useful in combating it.

The next guy up would be Nick. Now I know that is a strange one, seeing as I bashed him in my last post, but given his talents both on the magical and combat side, he would make a fine addition to any team as long as the focus isnt on him.

Next up, we have Zhane. I'm not going to lie, this one is greatly personal since he is my favorite Ranger ever. But on the professional side of things, he earned the rep of being one of the strongest Rangers in the universe for a reason. His power and experience against highly powerful evil competition would prove invaluable to anyone.

Finally, to lead my team.. I would choose Adam. Not basing this so much off of OaR, but what I've seen from him over the years. The thing I love him most is his ability to stay cool under pressure and that's a quality I admire in a leader and a quality that's needed in order to ensure the survival of his team and the earth.

Do you watch any SS? If so, which seasons have you seen?

[Mr. Silver]

To tell the truth, I watch very little Sentai because I want to be able to watch the PR season without prejudging based on the win or fail of the Sentai. The seasons that I have watched in full are Dekaranger(my fav), Boukenger, Gekiranger along with several teamup specials.

Dekaranger's the only one I've seen bits of, it's really good.

So, you mentioned team ups, which is your favorite from SS and from PR? and why?

[Mr. Silver]

From Sentai, I'd go with the Boukenger v. SS and Geki vs. Go-On. Bouken because I love the story they had going coupled with bringing back the ol vets and how they did it being highly entertaining. Geki vs. Go-On I loved because it was action packed and I'm heavy on fight scenes so I went in that direction.

As for PR, my two favs would be To The Tenth Power and Reinforcements from the Future. I love both for pretty much the same reasons in how well both were written, the villains used and the spot on teamup action. The only reason why I put Reinforcements ahead is because TTTP didn't have Zhane. :D

Well Reinforcements did have an awesome Jen entrace so I'm with you there lol.

Okay some off topic questions. Which are your favorite actors? and why?

LOL.

Favorite actors? Hmmmm.. let's see

1. Samuel L. Jackson - The guy is so versatile. To me, he has the ability to win anybody over whether he's playing a good guy, a villain, or even an animated VA for a video game.

2. Tobey Maguire - Simple. He's the face of my favorite Superhero in life so having him up here is a no brainer.

3. Craig Horner - Sure it may look like one of these things is not like the other, but Legend of the Seeker was the first look I've had of him and judging by what I've heard about the books and the type of character that Richard Cipher is, I can't picture anyone else in that role. Also, he's got one of the best American accents...EVER! If it hadn't been for an interview that I watched on Youtube, I would have never guessed that he wasn't American.

So which are your favorite movies? and why?

My favs? Hmmmm...

Well the first would be 8 Mile with Eminem. That's my favorite rapper and the movie told a great story. Next is probably the original TMNT movie. As a young man, THAT is what Ninja Turtles were all about. Another one is The Dark Knight. I mean come on, who doesn't love that movie! :D

Some others would be the Spider-Man movies along with the Harry Potter movies.

Cool a HP fan lol, do, read the books?

[Mr. Silver]

Not at all. Lol. I tried to get into them, but they never clicked with me. It wasn't the length because I've read long books before, but the series of HP books didn't make me go.. "Good Gugga Mugga!"

So which was your favorite movie from the series?

Probably the Goblet of Fire. That's because I felt it was the turning point in the series when it went from family fun to dark win!

Well you kinda...not really..well okay you didn't really show interest in books before, just said you've read long ones...but still..

Do you like reading? (if you do) what type of books do you like reading?

[Mr. Silver]

Lol.. I apologize for any confusion. Let me try and clear that up. Yes, I have read longer books in the past. I mentioned that because I wanted to eliminate the length of the books as a reason why I didn't get into them as much.

Do I like to read? Yes. Do I read often? No, because of my work schedule and school, I have little or no time to read for myself. Like my movies, I enjoy a lot of action, adventure and suspense and books that carry at least two of those three qualities are books that I like to read.

Which are your favorite artists/bands?

My favorite artists would defintely be Mr. Weezy F. Baby and Eminem. Some of my favorite bands.. defintely some Nickelback. I could listen to their music for hours at a time.

Cool, any favorite song at the moment? and why? :p

Of all time would be Lose Yourself by Eminem but favorite song right now? Hmmmm....*scratches chin* Well I have been looking into new songs for my MVs and I just got attached to Closer by Joe Inoue(Naruto Shippuden S4 opening song). That song rocks!

Cool..I don't think I've asked you about games so, are you a gamer? What systems do you own?

[Mr. Silver]

Very much so! I own a Wii, a PS2, an N64 and a DS which I use mainly for my Pokemon games.

Cool, which games are you currently playing? Can you tell us about them?

[Mr. Silver]

For the PS2 and 64, I'm not playing anything on it now. For the Wii, I'm currently playing Madden 10. I've played it for years since Madden 95 on Sega Genesis, but I'm so used to the PS system that converting my skills to the Wii has been...difficult to say the least. lol ... For the DS, I just finished playing Mega Man Star Force 3... Black Ace. The game is different from the normal Battle Network series of games where this one is more trickery and mental/fighting and the final boss was a pain in the arse. lol Right now, I'm working on my Pokemon Platinum, strengthening my team.

Cool, any other games you're done with or would like to mention?

For the Wii, I just got done with SpiderMan Web of Shadows which was cool. Ummmm...on PS2, I'm currently working on WWE SVR 09 building my CAW's stats. As for other current stuff, I'm pretty much waiting for the new Naruto, the new Dragonball, and the new WWE to come out which I already have preordered at Gamestop(cheap plug) lol.

Are you a fan of sports?

Am I!? I breathe it. The last time I went a day without mentioning anything sports, my mom asked me if I was feeling ok? lol

Cool lol. Which sports are you into?...and do you like to play them or watch them?

[Mr. Silver]

I'm major into football and basketball. I enjoy playing both but I LOVE playing football and I watch both religiously. lol

Lol nice. Which are your favorite teams?

[Mr. Silver]

For football, It's the Green Bay Packers! Basketball is the Dallas Mavericks. Baseball is THE New York Yankees. College FB - USC/LSU/Miami.. College BB - Duke. Women's College BB - UConn..(Yes..I said women's College BB. lol)

If you could join one of those teams, which would it be?

Hmmmmm... Green Bay without a question. I used to play football back in high school and people come up to me all the time, saying I should try a career at it. Plus, the other sports require so much finesse and with football, I can hit people and hit em hard! It's a great stress relief for me.

Okay well my last qustion, after this anyone may ask you questions.

If you had to pick a team of rangers out of the members of this forum, who would you pick? and why? Remember you would be putting Earth on these member's hands. Also would you pick anyone as villain? Just playing around of course.

This one is hard! lol Since I don't know as many people here as on SPRC, then I'm gonna have to go off of memory...

Pink Ranger - SilverSentai, she's real bubbly and great to liven things up.

Blue Ranger - ForeverBlue - I've known him a long time and no matter whether things are crappy or marvelous, he always seems to keep a level head.

Green Ranger - Crimson Soul - After working with him as a mod on RC, I've learned that he's very knowledgeable about PR and every team needs their smart one.

Yellow Ranger - Ranger Red - One of my best friends, she fiery and passionate. She'd serve well as the heart of the team.

Red Ranger - This one was hardest because it took everything not to type my name in here. But for the sake of fairness..I'll go with Phazon Ranger as my team leader. Phazey would be my Red because he seems like a well rounded guy with enough leadership experience to carry a team.

As a villain, I honestly can't say..because of the people I do know on here, none of them I can't picture as a villain.
