NOTE:
In the past week or so various members (including the staff members) have been getting these random PMs about viruses sent by spambots.
If you get a PM about downloading a virus program, its a SPAMBOT doing that.
Within those PM: DO NOT CLICK LINK!
Use the report button (the red triangle with the exclamation mark) to report the PM. That is all you need to do.
Delete the PM when your done.
One of the supermods or admins will take care of the ban on the spambots that sends those.

Unfortunately, they are only able to be banned once they have registered and sent the message, since they register using different IP addresses each time.
Believe me, the staff is doing the best they can, but they can't predict who's a real user and who's a spambot.
Thanks for the notice FB!

Can you install a sign up thing where you have to type the words as you see them?
I forget what it's called

The bots are generally better at cracking those than real people...

Could we make it a requirement to post a certain number of times before you gain access to PM? Say 10 posts? It'd weed out the more obvious spambots immediately.
Question

Was... this really an issue?
Because if so, I find it hilarious.

Its a few members having a panic attack over get a few spam pm's, the thing is we have more spam bots that post messages than pm's period. Plus for every 1 spam bot you see there are 30 you don't see.

Then i'll be forced to raise my fist in the air shouting "Questttttttionnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn!" lol
Well I guess you can't trust anyone now huh? You'll never know who's a spambot. It could be Question it could be me or even The Master! Naa I kid, but I have a question. How can you tell a bot or engine spider from a real person?

Basically, if the first thing they put up contains links, don't click them. I suggest you have to have seen at least 10 regular posts of a person, before trusting their links (1 should actually be sufficient to make sure it's not a bot, but meh).
Does this mean people will think I'm a bot on my Prizerebel thread?
I didn't mean to put the .com. Can a mod edit it please? It won't let me

i guess some people don't like those kind of jokes
I don't get it.If I make a joke and it's funny either it's offensive or random, then people get mad.It doesn't make any sense. So it's its like I have joke limits. If someone makes a joke about me and it was actually funny I'd laugh cause I have a good sense of humar.People these days. Now I'm lost
