I remember Power Rangers from decades ago. Is it really still on the air? And if so how?

Unfortunately, it has been around 12 years too long.

The show copys footage from a Japanese show called Super Sentai. So its fairly cheap to produce.A new Super Sentai series is made every year , which are almost always adapted into a new Power Rangers season.

The show was cancelled twice. In 2002 , Disney bought the show's parent company and had no plans to continue the show. It was quietly cancelled. But Disney was convinced to keep it going by cutting costs. Years later Disney cancelled the show and aired an redone version of MMPR season 1. Before Haim Saban purchased the brand back with his new company and brought the show back.

It is amazing the show has lasted as long as it did. I think we take it for granted sometimes.

I don't know , I think we learned our lesson after RPM when it did end.

Luckly, Saban came to the rescue.

Too bad they were just as incompetent as Disney

I think it has something to do with someone being willing to pay to put it on the the air.

Its because MMPR and the old seasons were so popular they decided to keep it around all these years.

The show is actually pretty easy to continue in a lot of ways.

Disney really kept the show going. Saban Brands capitalized on all the good will Disney owning PR got them.

They did such a good job they cancelled the show.

Disney also oversaw the brand when it almost shut down for a long time. I'm not saying Disney didn't do any good. They saved the show from taking a hiatus at some point when the decided to continue it after the sale. But you can't ignore how things ended. For a company like Disney to sell off a brand like PR, something had to be off. Saban Brands has got behind the brand whether you like the current seasons or not.

There are a lot of people that haven't kept up with the show that are surprised it is still on. I can see why that has been the case if you haven't been following closely.

It is pretty amazing that the show is still on all this time.

We can't thank Disney for that.

Its amazing how long the show lasted once the originals left. Especially when Jason left.

Its relatively easy to produce because of the Sentai Footage. And really the toy sales keep it going.

Thats why its funny when American Sentai fans make fun of Super Sentai. Power Rangers would have died years ago if it didn't last so long.

Its because its a fun show. More fun then Super Sentai.
