Power Ranger: Celtic Force
http://www.spelwerx.com/image/celticknot_med.jpg
Year: 2010
Celtic mythology tells the tale of a stone which granted a great power to its owner. This stone, the Stone of Fal, was the stone of kings; it possessed such a power that it could command the very earth and skies. The one who possesses the Stone of Fal (known also as the Stone of Destiny) has power beyond imagine and rules over all of Ireland. The Stone was passed down from king to king, staying with the ruler of Ireland to aid them in their rule. Peace reigned over Ireland as one king after another used the Stone of Fal to protect the shores of Ireland and defeat any enemy who dared to step foot upon Irish soil.
However, in the reign of High King Cormac MacArt, things went terribly wrong. It was during Cormac’s reign that a young warrior by the name of Conan Maol decided that Ireland had had enough of their High King and that a new ruler was needed. Maol gathered a rebellious force and waged war on High King MacArt. The war was quite one sided as MacArt used the power of the Stone to quell Maol’s forces and bring them under control. But Maol was not to be easily defeated. He devised a plan that was both cunning and evil. Maol called upon the help of the goddess Nemain, a lesser goddess who desired power for herself, and using Nemain’s powers against the Stone, Maol was able to bring down the High King and claim the Stone of Fal for himself.
Maol’s tyrant rule lasted for nearly two hundred years as the goddess Nemain had granted him unusually long life. Many brave warriors attempted to bring down Maol, but none were successful. Near his death, Maol took the Stone of Fal and hid it away so that, in his weak state, none would find it and use it against him. After Maol’s death, many searched for the Stone, but it remained hidden until its existence was nothing more than a myth.
Centuries have passed and still the Stone of Fal remains hidden, but the myth lives on in the minds such as that of the young archeologist Andrea Reynolds. Raised on the stories of Maol and the Stone of Fal by her history buff parents, Andrea has long dreamed of finding the Stone. For thirty years Andrea has nurtured her dream, studying all she could of Celtic mythology. Her love for mythology and history drove her to become an archeologist and discover all things which once were hidden from the world. Along with her twin brother, James, Andrea travels the world in search of hidden relics. Between archeology digs, Andrea teaches history at Rivers University in California. The only thing that keeps her from being truly content with her life, however, is the rivalry between herself and Marcus Flint, a world-renowned archeologist who always seems to beat Andrea to the latest finds.
Marcus Flint is the descendent of Conan Maol and, having grown up on the tales of his ancestor, is intent on finding the Stone of Fal and using it for himself. Having grown up in a very wealthy family, Marcus has money to burn. He has informants all over the world who alert him to the latest archeological finds so that he can get to the sites and claim the glory…and the riches. There is nothing that Marcus won’t do to build up his name and thus employs a few…unsavory characters who will do his dirty work.
The rivalry between Andrea and Marcus is about to reach the boiling point as news that the possible hiding place of the Stone of Fal has been found. With both archeologists wanting to find the Stone, time is of the essence. Andrea wants only the best going with her to Ireland to retrieve the Stone. And so, Andrea recruits a handful of her students to go with her. But the students don’t know what they’re about to get themselves into. Not only will they have to deal with Marcus’ hired muscle, but also the awakened spirit of Nemain, who Maol charged with guarding the Stone, and the minions she brings along with her.
In an attempt to protect her students and to even the playing field between herself and Marcus, Andrea will utilize an ancient power that nearly matches that of the Stone of Fal. That power will give her students the ability to call upon the weapons and powers of old. It will give them the ability to become Power Rangers.
