For this review I'm going to review Watchmen the 2 disc (or technically 3) disc bluray. Regular version as Special edition is not out here (uk)

First let me say I am not going to sit here and run this down because it's different to graphic novel. You want to read people judging it based on that, read on of the 1000's of "OMG this sux as it's changed from teh comic" reviews that occupy IMDB.
I like to my reviews based on the thing it's self. That said let's start this Chriz Review :
Story : This is without a doubt the film's strongest point. The story is both engaging and very good look at the world with these Super heroes in. However just because it has "Super heroes" in do not expect it to be Superman , spider-man or any other super film.
In this story the heroes are every bit as flawed as the villains. The story it's self starts with the death of one of these heroes. Then the mystery unfolds in front of you in way that is both refreshing and highly entertaining. 162 minutes of twists and turns that will have you hooked from start to end.
It's really hard to describe the story without giving away spoilers so I'm trying to avoid that. The description on the back of the best is the bet way of dealing with that.
The year is 1985 and super heroes have banded together to respond to the murder of one of their own. They soon uncover a sinister plot that puts all of humanity in grave danger. The super heroes fight to stop the impending doom, only to find themselves a target for Annihilation. But if our super heroes are gone, who will save us?
Score : 5/5
Picture quality : This bluray has perfect HD picture. It should too as it's a new film. But in deciding upon Bluray or DVD this matters completly as some blurays have basicly dvd quality (e.g 28 Days Later quality is bad while wall-e's quality is good.)
Not the best bluray picture ever but I give it a 4.5/5
Audio : It's dolby 5.1 trueHD, That makes it so clear and so great to listen to. The audio is just perfect in this.

Effects/music ect.. : The effects are awesome simply put. But the music good god the music for this is so awesome it's not funny. E.g Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen. The Sound Of Silence by Simon And Garfunkel. It's just a great soundtrack. My only complaint is no "The Beginning Is the End Is the Beginning" from the trailer
4.7/5 (only lost points for lack of "The Beginning Is the End Is the Beginning")

Overall score : I really should give it a 3/5 based on the fact the bluray in usa is directors cut with 24 minutes extra BUT I said "I like to my reviews based on the thing it's self" So I'm reviewing it as is
