We had one on Heroes and HT, why not have one on BlankTalk! This way, people don't keep asking about if PR is going to go animated or not. Announcements by PowerAnimals and other sources can be posted here, as well as the usual discussion. This is just to avoid numerous amounts of threads.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again:
POWER RANGERS MUST ALWAYS BE LIVE ACTION!

It seems that Power Rangers Live-Action is safe for this year. The decision of doing Power Rangers Animated in the future will probally be based on how RPM does. I wouldn't mind having a direct to DVD Animated Power Rangers Movie though, as long as the live-action would still be produced.

Hmm, i'm not totally against the idea of animated Power Rangers, but it's been live action for all this time and the transaction could ruin it. If they were to do an animated Power Rangers, maybe they could still do live action as well???

Apparently Disney only wants to do one or the other. That's why I suggested an Animated Direct-to-DVD Movie and a Live-Action Series.

I agree. I don't really watch any of the new stuff, but I'd love to see a direct-to-DVD animated movie. It was done with the new Gotham Knight DVD and old Animatrix DVD, so i don't see why it wouldn't work with Power Rangers. It could work as something which doesn't heavily impact the series, but could explain a few things; the fates of Dragonzord, Tor, and Titanus, for instance.
Plus, I don't know about you guys, but I'd love to see some zord action, Gundam Wing style!

If they did a Direct-To-DVD PR animated movie I would give it a chance, as long as PR will still be Live Action (like other members have been saying)

You know, seeing that we already know PR 2009 is Live, is it even necessary for the PR animated thread? Just a little curious.

*sigh* just like 2012 will be the end of the world...2009 is the end of the power rangers, I feel deeply saddend by both events lol...sad thing is I have no proof of either...and both as of now seem like rumors ;)

Yes I think this thread in particuar is better rather than making alot of other threads that end up being about the same thing. I like Jas's idea of making this thread.
As far as PR going animated, I personally would rather keep the live action.

No animated series!!

And no MMPR. I don't want Disney screwing up the Saban series. If they want to do Ninja Storm to Jungle Fury that's fine. But leaves Saban's series MMPR-WF alone.

I would, interestingly enough, love to have an animated Power Rangers series sometime in the future. I can't wait to see some kind of material in the future. Sure Power Rangers belongs in live action but I would love to give animated a try.=]

I'm all for it. As long as they do it good then why not it's still power rangers

Live action is the only type of PR i'd tune in and watch. A animated DVD wouldn't be bad if it showed things the shows didn't (due to lack of footage prolly) such as the fates of some of the zords

...It's not like this is going to happen in any capacity. And even if it did, it wouldn't happen anytime soon...

Remember everyone we're dealing with Disney here.

No thanks.

^ That's still pretty irrelevant. Disney's never taken something that wasn't already animated to begin with and make it animated. I don't see the precident there...

(ok this is based on a comic but they used live action people like Nick Bakay as Salem and they added "the animated series" which wouldn't be needed if they hadn't taked live one in to account)

1. Mighty Ducks was based on the team, not the live action movie. They took the name an the general theme of hockey and ran with it. And that show, if I recall, kicked ass. So, yeah.

2. As you said, DUH Sabrina was based off of the long-running Archie Comics character, so really it was just another adaptation. The "Animated Series" part would be tacked on to anything that was adapted or inspired by something else. For instance, "Lilo & Stitch: The Animated Series".

The use of Nick Bakay as the voice of Salem was done because, at that point, he basically WAS Salem. His voice was synonomys with the character and to keep at least some sort of continiuity between the mediums, they brought him over to do the voice of the animated Salem. Not that hard to follow.

And DIC did the animated series, not Disney.

two things though

1 Dic was owned by disney when it was made that makes it disney.

2 Mighty ducks the team was created based on "Mighty Ducks" the movie owned by ..... Disney. The cartoon was based on movies AND the team. I didn't say it wasn't cool just that it was animated series based loosely on a live action property

Wrong! The Tortoise & the Hair is animated.

Done by Jim Henson Productions. JHP is owned by Disney.

Jim Henson did puppeteering NOT animation.

Now that it's Disney's company it has been converted.

ok why cant we have an animated series and live action at the same time, i mean think of the possibilities

1.they dont have to work with foreign footage so it would be easier to stop continuity errors from happening
2.theres no budget problems
3.they dont have to worry about getting new crappy actors each season
4.they can use specail effects and not a bunch of smoke and sparks shooting up no matter what lazer they shoot.
5.they can fix the continuity errors and could do alout of cool reunions without tracking down a bunch of bad actors that nothing ever happened to after the show

Um...Disney's pretty much always owned JPH. They haven't, however, always owned PR.

Also, puppetry may be a form of live action...but, uh, yeah, those don't equate at all, love, sorry.

Well if Dai Shi & Camille joined the Rangers it would look like some kind of Jungle Fury zord.

Black Lion Green Chameleon Red Tiger. I also see Yellow Blue & White.

No Purple though but still.
