I don't know about you, but something about a grown male in yellow spandex just never sits right with me. I feel that the yellow ranger should be a girl. Look I it could just be the fact that I don't like the characters, but I still don't like it. I also feel that if Japan gives you only one female character, and a male yellow ranger, you should make the yellow ranger a female.

Since Disney is not doing the gender change for yellow male rangers in PR anymore...we'll be getting what sentai gives us if the yellow ranger from a sentai series is male. Disney is against the gender change from yellow male ranger to yellow female ranger.

I dont mind if Yellow is a male but I do like atleast two females on the team to somewhat balance things out.
I always feel that yellow should be female. Although we've had some good male yellows. eg. Dustin, Chip and Alien yellow!

This is not what you think Disney will do, it is what you would do if you made the show.

You may have liked them, but Dustin and Chip I hated. Chip is my least favorite ranger ever.

A possible reason why Disney hasn't changed the genders of the past two male Yellow Rangers is because they didn't want the females to outnumber the males. In Ninja Storm, the team began with three Rangers, two males (Red and Yellow) and one female (Blue). Mystic force already had two females (Pink and Blue), so if they made the Yellow Mystic Force Ranger female, then the females would outnumber the males. Remember, Power Rangers is a series targeted towards boys. This is the same reason why we don't see a full-season female Red Ranger.
BTW, I have heard rumors that Disney did consider making the Navy Thunder Ranger female. While I don't know if these rumors are true, perhaps I would like to know why this never happened.

Depends on the female count.

I like the guy as a Yellow Ranger as for how many girls on the team, I think that if there is one, she gets the most attention becuas she's the only one, making her even more special than being a hero but there's nothing wrong with more than one.

Yeah, I remember the rumor. It was an idea rumor that Disney thought of doing but changed thier mind and it ended up being male when we saw the pic of Blake.

Well Yellow is a color that has been shown to be ambigious and I have said before in previous boards Disney will do what they will do and we can not effect them so just let it ride

It all depends on if the ranger suit and the body type of the Japanese yellow ranger could work for gender-bending. If the yellow ranger is sleek enough to pass off as a female then it can work, but if the yellow ranger is too thick and broad in the shoulders then it doesn't work. But in any case you'll just keep getting the question "why does that yellow ranger have a d*** if the character is a girl?"
I personally hate the idea of a male ranger being gender-bent into a female one for the sake of having another female ranger. Colors should be available to all genders and not restricted to either or. My point is if the suit type is established to be a male character, then it should be a male character. If the suit type is established to be a female character, then it should be a female character.
But I can see your side in the case of Dustin and Chip because they're too similar of a character if you think about it. But I don't think you should discriminate a ranger color to a single gender because of those characters.

So Disney is not doing the gender bending, yet you think that is just the way Forever Blue would do it.Did you see any other female rangers in NS,DT or JF?nope. That is why i belive we got side characters like Kelly,Hayley & Fran. They could have easily been writen as males. They help to balance the cast even thought their not rangers.

I think it was insulting of saban to hire them for a male senti counter part. It's like saban said "Your a beautiful women, yet look like you could fit a suit made for a man."

im going to say it depends on the female count. i really do think that they should start switching up the colors. it wouldnt bother me at all if they went with along with sentai.

Yellow, like all colors, doesn't have a gender. Because it's nothing but a wavelength of visible light. Therefore, either gender should be able to wear it. Duh.
Well, if it was me running the show, then both genders and all races would be represented, but that would bring the ranger count up to about ten. When you have that many main characters, the dialogue suffers. One good thing that can be said about Disney is that they generally try to stick pretty close to the original source material, and I respect that because I enjoy sentai more than I enjoy Power Rangers.

It doesn't have to depend on the color on the person itself. What about if I choose to be a Red Ranger and im a girl, Red is my favorite color and what??? The colors can change on everyone without mattering who they really are?
Disney made it like that, they choose pink and yellow (the colors that I really hate) for girls and the others for boys (red, blue, black, green) that are my fav colors

@ Red Lightspeed Ranger-You'd be ok with being red ranger even with the fact that after you morph you'll have a male body?I bet if you asked any saban era yellow they were at least a little insulted by that.
Your gripe is only half with Disney, the other half has to be with Toei. They make the super senti.Disney can only work with whats givin to them.
Its kool to find girls who like PR,but your going to have to live with the fact that the show is not aimed at your gender.Just look at Barbie. It's amied at girls and has more females than male.Your not going to see them increase the male count to attract boys to the line.
Yeah i know rignt,no blue female rangers. ::looks towards Tori & Madison::
You'd think they would have done that by now. :p
