That's the rumor being reported for a proposed third film in the sci-fi franchise.

How is it not good news? Other than not seeing how Agent J would fit in if this turns out to be a prequel, explaining everything that started M.I.B., which I thought was done quite well over the first two movies, K already retired once. Why not let someone else replace him finally? Yes, J was being picky over new partners in M.I.B. 2, but given how long it has been since the sequel, K could be written to be permanently retired, in more ways than one.
