Ranger Core's First Pixel Contest!

Welcome to the first (of many, to come) pixel contests on Ranger Core! It's great to have you all here and I could rant all day, but we'd never get anywhere, so onto the details!

The challenge: Ho, ho, ho! In the spirit of the season, i've decided to create a Christmas theme for this first challenge. Your job? To create a team of 5 Power Rangers with the theme of Christmas being the core design element.

You must include the following with your pixel entry:

A short synopsis of your idea for your Christmas Rangers, including how they gain their powers. No longer than one paragraph.

The rules:

1) The work you enter must be STRICTLY your own, (no borrowing other's works, even if they do allow it, if I recognise the work, you'll be out!) using either Acatl bases, or the old style, "prayer" bases. Choose one base and stick to it, I don't want a mis-match mixture of the two in your entry.

2) No deviating for the theme...I don't wanna see a Jungle Animal theme with a small christmas tree logo. Christmas must be the core theme for this team.

3) If you participate, you cannot judge. Vice-Versa.

4) The deadline? December 15th...Leaving a nice 10 days until Christmas morning.

The prizes:

Prizes are currently being planned. I'll tell you now, not to expect cash or material gifts...I just don't have the money. But it will be something to make you feel like your effort is worthwhile :)

While it doesn't sound like much, in comparisson to this site, we just hit 30 members :) the site is really coming into its own now, we have member interviews, a pixel competition, and pretty soon, roleplays starting :)

Check it out, you'll find it way more laid back that most places you join.

Staff openings!

Folks! We have two, rather different staff position openings :) they're very similar in likeness, and while they do not require you to actually moderate anything on the site...You'll still be given staff priveledges for doing them :)

1) Ranger Core Twitter-er (xD) - We have opened our first twitter (click (https://twitter.com/RangerCore)) page! It's a little quiet there at the minute, so if a candidate could come along. We'd give you the username and password, and let you post twitter updates as your staff position! All you have to do is keep them clean, on topic and advertise the site in your updates every now and them!

2) Ranger Core Facebook-er - Yes, we are joining Ranger Talk & Ranger Board in the funness. This is a temp position, and doesn't give you staff priveledges, but we will reward you with a VIP status for helping us out. It basically requires you create the site a fan page and advertise it as best as possible :)

Ranger Core contest event: Design a Ranger Core Ranger!

We had one of these on the older site, but I think it's time. Now that we are on an official forum to make things a little more serious and make the prizes actually worth working for! So here goes:

The aim?: To design a ranger mascot for the forum. It must look like a power ranger, and carry as many elements of the forums feel and look as possible.

It can be drawn (by hand, or digitally), painted or even pixelled (so long as it is large enough to be used as a forum banner).

This idea has been done very successfully before by Ranger Board and we intend to follow suit. The winning design gets its place in a beautiful banner as our default site logo...So work hard to impress!

Prizes:

1st place

- Deluxe or regular (dependant on preference of winner) Dragon Dagger from the MMPR 2010 toyline.

- Become the first Emerald VIP member which includes maybe secret extra's that are not yet up for option.

- Have your design broadcasted to all at the top of the forum!

2nd place

- MMPR 2010 action figure (which one, is to be decided)

- Ruby VIP membership (or upgrade if you are already a VIP)

- Have your design, used for letter headers and graphics for the site.

The rules:

1) The ranger submission must be made BEFORE the closing date. Any entrys after this time will be disregarded...Even if it is only a few minutes after.

2) The work you submit must be to the guidelines above and strictly your own. Any cut and paste work, or stolen will be reported to the owner. You'll recieve a ban from the site, also.

3) To participate, you must be a registered member of the site. (I won't accept e-mail submissions)

4) This contest is subject to popularity. If it doesn't gain enough entree's or interest, then it simply won't go ahead. We're a home paid forum and cannot risk spending money on prizes for a small number of members. So advertise this competition as much as possible!

5) The judges are myself and Kryptonite.

Closing date: Sunday 21st March 2010 (midnight, UK time) - Subject to change
