Welcome to the thread...Since the RPG Casting Call is so packed, I have decided to add some further detail in here, for clarification.

First of all, you'll find the Casting Call HERE

- Everyone, who applies, must apply with a NEW bio created from scratch. The character must have no previous ranger experience or morphing abilities.

- Applicants enrole to the academy, much like in the army. Application forms - response -medical and history checks and then you recieve your answer.

- You have not started at the Academy yet. Write your bio up to the point of being accepted as a recruit.

Anything else, ask away in here, or PM a member of the veterans :)

Bio is now posted. I had an idea that would be sort of wierd but it could work too. If my character, Caleb, had a relationship with Dino~Thunder's character, Ridley. The two are very similar in that they are both trouble makers and I was thinking a teacher/student secret relationship would spice up the story a little. Caleb is only 3 years older than Ridley as it is so it shouldn't be too wierd. If Dino~Thunder is okay with this, would you allow it, Hadouken?

Sounds good, though i'm not going to issue the rule about student/teacher relationships. I want people to be free to do what they want.

We're lacking two member's post's right now. I know Bentron is busy, so thats fine...But shockingly, Pink Legacy hasn't posted, GekiViper is slightly behind due to late bio entry and War's Paladin is nowhere in sight, so can people now start to do the following:

A) Unpack?
B) Shower and change into something clean, fresh etc. (much like Lloyd already has)
C) Head out of the room (with or without your roommate is up to the two of you) and head up to the third floor...You'll soon hear a message from Tommy telling you that lunch is served and you'll have your first chance to see EVERYONE in your student year :)

Drat! I was constantly on the road for two days, so I couldn't get on.... and you guys already have four pages in! I don't think I'll be able to catch up to this... or at least, not with the needed amount of detail in each post for it to work.

However, if anyone has any ideas, I'm all ears.

You should do what I did. Have your character come in late, that way he can be oblivious to what has been going on and that way, you don't necessarily have to read what people have said, as your character wouldn't know of it anyway. It is, however, necessary for you to read through some of them though, so you can know where certain characters are and you can interact with them in the appropriate manner. From that moment on, you should be able to insert yourself into the story effectively.

Alot of notes here people, so pay attention

1) BloodRedSandman & The Grand Kage

I don't like to single people out, but your recent posts were kinda lackluster. I didn't like the way you went around them and short back and forth responses just aren't enough. Try to bulk them up from now on.

2) Addressing others/Conversing

I've noticed alot of confusion involving 'who's talking to whom' so from now on, I want people to do the following...Write out your post and then in a header or footer, type the names of people you addressed in your post. That way, those not involved, can skim through it and get to their own posts.

Eg.

3) Schedule changes:

As Tommy said, he messed up the schedules, so lunch should now be ending. Within your next 2 posts head to the induction room and sit down. You can head back to your rooms, should you need to pick anything up, but other than that, just move along.

Same to you, head to the induction rooms ready, i'll pm new instructions to you soon.

I just don't want it to turn into a 1-liner RPG. Just because there is alot of us, it doesnt necessarily mean that there has to be lower quality in the writing. But i'm glad you'll try to bulk things out :)

BRS, no offense, but a short post is a short post. It's like you can't be sort of pregnant, you either are or you aren't. While your posts have been long for the most part, we don't want anyone to SLIP into writing one liners. It's a gradual thing. Like Hadouken said, just keep the posts to a substantial length.

My end point was that your post was lazy. It was way shorter than necessary and brought the quality of the confrontation between yourself and The Grand Kage down..

Another note to The Grand Kage...Cael has left the table. And I know you're playing a very 'big brother' type of character, but you need to stop confronting people the way you are...It feels slightly god mod-ish.

It's not so much, his abilities that bother me, but rather, his attitude and the use of his abilities. So far, hes picked a girl up against her will, ordered students around, confronted teachers...All using his abilities.

There doesn't have to be crazy action every second, it just doesn't feel real to me.

I completely agree with you, im not making excuses or anything its just the way im use to do rpgs is where you take control of all the characters so it is a little bit easier to control the things like tension and esculation of confrontation. It is 'fluff/filler' which is pretty much a lazy way of filling in time. :D

I'm not sure if you guys (the teachers) had figured this out already or not, but I figured I'd mention it just in case. There's currently 6 teachers and 18 students, so that allows them to be divided evenly into groups of 3. So each teacher would be responsible for 3 students.

I'm not sure if you guys (the teachers) had figured this out already or not, but I figured I'd mention it just in case. There's currently 6 teachers and 18 students, so that allows them to be divided evenly into groups of 3. So each teacher would be responsible for 3 students.

No need to concern yourself with that :) got it dealt with already.

I've had to make a few adjustments to the RPG.

Teachers will now be paired up in 2's to take on a set of five students each.

Kat & Eric, Caleb & Cael, Andros & RJ. :)

The students will all be sorted once everyone reaches the Induction Room, so if you're not there, and do not want to be cut, like War's Paladin & Pink Legacy. I suggest, movement is made :)

Also, i'm sad to say that HMR had to drop out, due to work interferences :(

I think it's best that I tell you all now. Rather than just letting this go on and on...

Contrary to my earlier post in this thread, i've decided to close Ranger Academy. The original idea was to bring people together, make the board stronger etc. and it was a HECK of alot of work...That I thought was going to pay off..

And it did, in some respects...I learnt alot about players that I used to judge as "mediocre" and found that some of you are actually incredibly dedicated and talented. But in terms of breathing life into this board...With Double constantly changing things whenever it starts to get on a good path...I just don't think it's worth it.

So yes, it will be closed. And no, I won't let anyone else take over, because as selfish as it sounds, this story, this idea was my hard work, and seeing others, reap the benefits of it, just doesn't seem fair to me.

I hope that you all enjoyed the experience, though and that roleplayers have learnt things from it. I definitely have and in the future, will not be as restricting in my casting calls in terms of applications.

So yeah, thankyou to everyone for being a part of this, and i'm sorry for letting you down. It's just too much work, for such little reward.

With the board in such turmoil, this RPG would have surely suffered in the days to come.

Perhaps when things settle down, and smooth out the Academy can be re-opened. That's entirely up to you though.
