Hey Folks,

You've just been hired by Disney to retro-up the newest season of PR. You're working on a season-long arc where the current Rangers are assisted by a mysterious group of people who know a lot about Rangering. It climaxes with that team Morphing and joining the current Rangers in an all-out fight between the current villains and an old enemy. One of the old Rangers is destroyed in battle, lost forever.

You've been given unlimited ability to attract old actors and costumes. Assume that there is a Sentinel Knight-like character who empowers the team, so each still has access to their old costume. As per the name, there are 6 of them.

Tommy: Dino Thunder Black (Most storied character in history, has connections to everyone via Red Ranger Club)
Billy: Morphin Blue (Alien connections, access to and ability to build zords)
Andros: Space Red (Experience working alone/hidden, knowledge of many different planets and able to travel easily)
Jen: Time Pink (Foreknowledge of the 'correct' timeline, leadership and battle experience)
Hunter: Thunder Ninja Crimson (Ninja master, tough in a fight, has worked with evil warriors before, undercover skill)
R.I.P. Chip Mystic Yellow (Expert on the magical world)

Who do _you_ choose and what do they bring to the table?

My team:

Tommy - DinoThunder Black (More experience battling evil than any other Earth Ranger ever, and access to the rest of the Hexagon via the other Red Rangers.)

Carter - Lightspeed Red (Carter's connected to the government via Lightspeed, so he adds an air of legitimacy to the team that many vigilante-ish teams didn't have. Also, he has more firearms skill than anyone else here.)

Trini - MMPR Yellow (Now, when you say unlimited ability... She brings a zen-like calm viewpoint to the situations, as opposed to the sometimes hotheaded two above.)

Karone - Galaxy Pink (While Tommy has more experience battling evil, Karone has a deeper insight into how the evil mind works. Karone would be the one to die in the final battle, in a glorious sacrifice that makes up for her two decades of villainy under Dark Specter's thumb.)

RJ - Violet Wolf (RJ would be the one to build the Rangers' new morphers and zords, as well as adding an offbeat, unique perspective to whatever problems they face.)

Xander Bly - Mystic Force Green (Resident magic guru, as well as one more chance to get Plan Xander to work out.)

It has to be Tommy that sacrifices himself, he's played every role in Power Rangers except Zordon like martyr it would be the perfect end for him.

Gotta admit, that team is pretty epic.

Here is mine. I tried to avoid basing this on 'what personalities or characters I like' and more into 'who would be the most useful'.

Red Ranger, Connor To be honest, this is based entirely on my own opinion that Connor, maxed out with the Triassic power up and battlizer, is the strongest ranger in the franchise. To be honest, fans here WILL disagree with this paragraph. That's fair enough, it's their opinion. Anyone who thinks Nick or Mack is the strongest is more than free to replace the word Connor in this paragraph with either Nick or Mack. It doesn't matter. Whoever is the strongest Red Ranger goes here. The whole team can fight the evil using all their skills to their best advantage. Then the Red Ranger (Connor, Mack, Nick, whoever) can just power up like a plotdevice and easy own the villain. Foolproof.

Yellow Ranger, Z Now, not only is she streetwise and SPD trained. Her generic ability involves temporarily dublicating (triplicating or even more) herself into multiple clones. While it can be debated that her power is probably shared and divided into each of these clones, other aspects and attributes are not. This is a skill I must have in my team, no question. It's always been a favorite technique of mine, especially used in anime with characters such as Naruto and Tenshinhan. It can confuse and distract the enemy.

Blue Ranger, Billy Gotta say this, no ranger, NO ONE, knows the ins and out of the morphin grid and ranger technology than this guy. It's pretty safe to say he probably knows more than the Alphas. Anything, ANYTHING, that happens, Billy will probably be able to fix it, easily. If you're looking for a team that each excels in their own fields, to get a well rounded off team, Billy needs to be the one in terms of the knowledge of the ranger technology and morphin grid. He can also build old school communicators (because THEY WERE EFFECTIVE) so that they can constantly stay in communication just by wearing a watch.

Green Ranger, Cam I thought about this, and Cam is the most powerful Green Ranger upon activating Super Samurai, and with this powerup he is probably the fastest Green Ranger too, probably one of the fastest rangers ever. If I'm going to include a Green Ranger into a well rounded epic team, it's him.

Gold Ranger, Trey NekoLLX made a point that Trey can enlarge Power Rangers, using his staff, to full size. Need I say anymore?

Pink Ranger, Karone To be honest, Question above has already stated the reason for me.

EDIT: Sorry, to make it clear, Karone is the one who sacrifices herself, just like Question said in his post above. The reason I will have Karone sacrifice herself is because it would be necessary for a creature of evil to use their lifeforce up to stop a greater evil being resurrected. Karone transforms back to Astronema, but with Karone's personality. She realises it's her duty to save everyone, and upon sacrificing herself... saving the world, truely redeeming her former evil deeds for the greater good.

Ryuk, is Karone the one who is sacrificed in your version? I'd almost think that Connor would overdose on extra power-ups and thus cause a second energy wave. That'd show all that evil.

It would be very different for me..

**PREVIOUSLY ON POWER RANGERS: RPM**

It's a dark room, there are 6, four foot tall pillars, each bearing a MMPR morpher, a power coin laying beside each one. Each with a colored spot light. Red, Blue, Purple, Yellow, Pink, and White.
Tommy's voice echoed into the room, the room felt large and sacred by the sounds of the echoes reverberating off of the walls that could not be seen thanks to an all encompassing darkness.
Tommy: "I'm too old to carry on the battle. The blood of evil has stained my hands, and that stain will never wash away.. The powers before you, are greater than any other known to ranger kind.. Step forward, and claim your powers.."

Tommy: "Tori Hanson, you will claim the Red Tyrannosaurus Powers.."
A slender hand, slides from the shadows just beyond the red light above the pillar, another hand just behind it. The face of the morpher pops open, and the Tyranno coin was slid into the morpher. The face was locked into place, the red light over the pillar shifted back to reveal Tori standing in it's light wearing a red and black ninja uniform.
"I accept" Stated Tori with a cocky grin on her face.

Tommy: "Ethan, you'll be returning as the blue Triceratops Ranger.. Step forward and claim our powers.."
Ethan collected the morpher and coin, as the blue light above the pillar shifted to Ethan's form.
"I accept.." Ethan said with wide eyes holding the original Triceratops powers.

Tommy: "Jack Landors, although, like me you retired from Rangerdom, you have been called back to action, please Claim the Black Mastodon Powers.."
Jack's hands collected the morpher and coin, the purple light shifted to Jack, who stood in a black tshirt, and black SPD training pants. He seemed annoyed, he slapped the coin into it's slot, and the face was shut also.
"Yeah yeah, I accept.." He replied as though he really didn't want to do this.

Tommy: "Rose Ortiz, your skill as Overdrive Pink has earned you a spot in this team. Claim the Pink Pterodactyl Powers.."
The morpher and coin were collected, assembled, and kissed. Rose grinned as the pink light flooded her figure.
"I definitely accept!" She said with a grin holding the morpher to her face, and inspecting it.

Tommy: "Vida Rocca, your prowess of magic has brought you to the foot of this pillar, will you accept the Yellow Sabre Tooth Tiger powers?"
Vida's hands rose from the shadows, her fingers trembled a moment before grasping the morpher and coin. She assembled the two before looking at the morpher very harshly. The yellow light fell on her, her eyes twinkled a moment, as she looked up at Tommy.
"I do accept these powers.."

Tommy: "Finally.. Nick Russel.. The shining Light of all that is good.. Will you accept the White Tiger Ranger powers?"
Nick had already morphed and taken off his helmet before Tommy had finished. His eyes were fiery red, as if he were ready to fight.
"You bet I will.."
Nick said with a very serious voice as the camera zooms in on his face as the white light from the pillar floods his morphed figure.
