Awakening - Day of the Dino

Year - 2004

City - Reefside

Story - After the battle between the Zeo Rangers and the Machine Empire, Steven and Amanda decided that they would go ahead and get married. It really seemed like it would be the first time that the two would actually live their lives somewhat, but they had no clue that Steven would actually screw something up when the three were just chilling at the Power Chamber when he spilled soda on something Billy was working on. Unfortunately it was some time modifier, which opened a rift sucking the four through sending them to the future. But in sending the three of them to the future, the rift seemingly opened one from the deep past allowing an ancient evil to return.

This ancient evil went by the name of Mesogog, and his plan was to transform the current Earth to a Dino World again, as he didn’t really like the appearance of this Earth. This source of power was known as the Dino Gems. But the problem was that Mesogog only had two of these crystals, the white and black one’s although the black one was encased in a clear sap. But Mesogog, didn’t know who had the other three as he had all five of them when he forced himself to a deep slumber.

The person that had the Red. Blue and Yellow gems was a former Ranger himself, one Dr. William Cranston. He knew of the rift that was caused by Steven, and it was something that he kept his brilliant mind on. Until the rift opened in his hidden basement causing the three to drop somewhat unexpectedly. But Dr. Cranston seemed a bit happy to see the three again, but the monster Mesogog began his attack on the Earth by sending some mechanical warrior named Zeltrax and his Tyrranodronnes to find the other three crystals.

With Zeltrax doing that, Dr. Cranston began trying to get the three powered up, but none of the three Dino Gems would actually be compatible with Steven, but Alex and Amanda were graced with the Yellow Ptera Gems and the Blue Tricera Gems respectively, Steven wasn’t really able to comprehend why exactly he wasn’t compatible with the Red Tyranno Gem, while Billy searched for a user that was compatible with the gem.

Dr. Anton Mercer - Not much is known about this man except that he helped fund Billy and Hayley’s dino Research. People actually believe he holds a secret that can’t be revealed.

Villains
Mesogog - a Monstrous sorcerer hell bent on turning Earth into a Dino World, where he would reign as king.

Zeltrax - Mesogog’s loyal second in command. He seems to hold a vendetta with both Steven and Billy, but neither really know hy.

Tyrannodrones - Mesogog’s Grunts, they usually do any and everything he says with extreme violence and force.

[B]Steven Harper

"Umm, I wouldn't do that if I were you dudes. You all know what happened last time you fucked up like this." a familiar sounding figure said as he walked back away from these two classmates who really didn't know what they were doing. The figure was Steven Harper, the former Red Zeo Ranger and even though he, his wife and friend were in the future he was going through with at least a college education. And he seemed to be slowly running for his life as his lab partners dropped the ball and messed something up causing a small explosion. "See what I said!" Steven ran to the two and just shook his head in disappointment.

"You two alright?" Steven asked as he tried to hold back a hard laugh caused by the twos explosion, the two were Devin and Cassidy. Steven cleaned up their mess as Billy walked back in. Billy seen the two and he directed them to their seats since they couldn't listen to Steven, and he grabbed Steven by the shoulder and praised him for at least warning them about the mistake they made. Steven had no choice but to smile at that one, but soon the bell had rang and the class had began to walk out. Steven ran up to his wife and put his arms around her waist. "You feeling okay? You haven't been the same since I accidentally caused that rift." Steven wondered as he walked with Amanda back to the dorm.

Steven and Amanda were somewhat getting closer as a couple, but it wasn't the same as they kept the secret of being from the past from everyone as well as keeping the secret of being former rangers, knowing it could cause a major backlash.

Amanda Harper:

She watched as two kids around her age attempt to do another experiment. From past classes the two never were too bright. But once again they sent off another explosion in the class. She rolled her eyes and finished cleaning up. She and Alex were partnered and they had no problems with their work. As Billy returned she sighed and grabbed her stuff and they were dismissed. Steven ran up to her and put his arms around her waist. "You feeling okay? You haven't been the same since I accidentally caused that rift."

She looked up and smiled. "I'm okay, I'm still trying to get used to fact that we may be stuck here for the rest of our lives. I mean I'm starting to actaully miss Nerd Boy- Billy." She gave a small laugh. "At least Alex is here so we arent completely alone if you know what I mean." She looked down as they walked. Her eyes looked over to her yellow gemed bracelet Billy gave her. Alex had the same but it was blue. Yet Steven didnt have one. "How are you?" she asked him.

She knew he was a little hurt that the red gem didnt chose him as its owner and she knew how much he enjoyed being a power ranger and that basically it was part of his life now and in the past.

Carmen Montgomery


Carmen begins her drawing that the teacher had assigned to the class as she begins reaching down into her bag grabbing her colored pencils and her pen. As she goes deep in thought of what she was going to draw she begins nibbling on the lid to her pen. She then decides what she wanted to draw and starts sketching it out. All of a sudden she hears a explosion in the science room as she just figured maybe there were doing some kind of experiment and that it had gone wrong. She then begins going back to her sketch knowing her teacher would be coming around the room checking their artwork pretty soon. She starts outlining her drawing in her dark pen after she had lightly drawn what she wanted with the pencil. Pretty soon Art class was over and the bell had rang.


She starts gathering up her things putting her pen back into her pocket and she starts walking out into the hall heading down to her room needing to make a phone call and to put her art supplies away. Once she gets out of ear shot she starts calling her boss seeing if she could switch with one of the employees that had to work the following night.She had too many things she had to get done that night and her job was going to interfere with her school work. Her adopted parents would kill her if her grades starting lowering.

Alex Martin

Everything seemed so...different, he went from being in 1996 as a college dropout and former blue zeo ranger to the year 2004 and now participating in a charade to protect his and his friend's identities, if someone ever learned who they really were the consequences would be great. He enrolled in the same college Billy was now a professor, it was nice that Steven and Amanda were there as well, right now Amanda helping him with a lab experiment, unfortunately some of their classmates were not having good results as they did.

But there was something eating him up inside since the rift, that one of the casualties of the time trip, was the love of his life, as he would find out Muriko moved on, even having a kid of her own, a realization that practically destroyed him, and he has been picking up the pieces since then

He looked at his blue dino gem, while he was glad he remained a Power Ranger, he could not understand why Steven wasnt chosen as he and Amanda did, and the question of the moment was Who will lead us?

Mike McIntyre

Mike was going to his friends where he and his band write songs and make compositions and have fun together. Billy and Trey were like his brothers more than just friends or band members, losing them was his biggest fear. Passing through the college he relived his past memories as a school student in the form of flashbacks. His school days were not so cool for him, back then he used to believe that life's a bitch, now it was much better than when he was a teen.

He knew there would be some of his old friends from the school in that college he was passing by and suddenly he heard a little explosion, it sounded like something happened inside the college, "another experiment gone wrong I guess" he said with a little grin and continued his way to his friend Trey's house. He always wished he was normal, he just had a wish he didnt have a dark side, though everyone has it, the only difference is that his is much darker, and when it gets triggered, it controls him, the day he came to know about his split personality, he's been trying to find a way to control it but all efforts were fruitless. And so with these thoughts he kept walking and moving on with life not knowing that there'll soon be twist in this already complicated life of his.

"I've been better, but I'm happy to be here with you and Alex." Steven said as he held Amanda tightly. Something about this was kind of fishy, but since coming to the future Steven has been having nightmares about a skeleton based monster attacking the city, but he knew that wouldn't happen so he continued to his dorm with Amanda, holding her in his arms the whole way. Steven knew he would become a ranger even if he had to steal a gem. But he would stand on the sidelines as much as needed.

Once he got close to the dorms pool he threw Amanda in, and followed up by jumping in himself. Steven knew this would be one way for the two to be together. But he did it without thinking, as he managed to forget the weather out, it was raining hard, and Steven sorta knew they would get sick so he took her out of the pool and to the dorm where they could dry off. "That was my fault!" Steven laughed giddily as he ran all the way back to dorm. "Don't kill me!"

Steven had reached in his drawer and threw his wife a towel, so she could at least get dried off. Steven then grabbed a towel and began drying off, he began rummaging through is clothes for something red to wear, but he realized he threw all his Red stuff away so he grabbed a black muscle shirt and khaki pants. His new tattoo could be seen by Amanda, all he did was let out a little smile and go forth. "I hope yo aren't mad about this." Steven said as he shown her the tribal flame tattoo that went across his shoulders and back with Amanda's name embossed in it.

Amanda Harper:

Amanda nodded to his response. She knew how much he loved the ranger life. She remembered when she first became a part of it. She wanted nothing to do with it and it had nearly cost Steven’s life twice. She sighed at the thought. Things have been better since then. She even found out that she had a kid named Chris that had come back to help them destroy King Mondo, who no longer existed. She looked up from her thoughts as they approached the pool. It was starting to rain so she couldn’t help but ask what they were doing there.

But before she could ask she saw a light bulb go off in Steven’s head and he threw her into the pool before she could stop him. “Steven Harper!” she cried out. The water was freezing! She started to swim out and he jumped in and followed her out. They went back into his dorm so they wouldn’t get sick from the weather and she took the towel he handed her. She walked over to a mirror and dried her hair. She found an old T shirt that was hers and she put it on. As she let her hair down to air dry she glanced over at Steven and saw a silver and black piece of art on his shoulders.

“Steven…,” she started. He smiled because he knew she saw it, “What is that? And when the heck did you get it?” she sat on his bed. She felt a mix of emotions at that moment. One thankful and kind of guilty that he loved her so much that he would get that and it would still be there when they were old and grey. Second, she wished she was the kind of person who could just devote themselves 100 percent and not have to think about anything else. She felt even guiltier that she hadn’t told him that Alex approached her the day before the wedding and she felt guilty for leaving him even though she was finally getting over him. Yet she loved Steven more and she hated it took her this long to realize it.

Carmen says bye to her boss and begins sticking her phone back into her pocket deciding to take a walk before her next class as she heads towards the door walking outside putting on her hoodie that would protect her from the rain. She starts walking around campus wanting to clear her head thinking of how many hours she would have to work this week to help pay for the rent. After about 45 minutes of walking she wasnt watching where she was going and she falls into this hole landing into this strange room. She starts getting up dusting herself off "Where the heck am ?"I She begins looking around the room seeing these strange machines and what not.

Flashback, this takes place prior to the start...

Billy, where is she?... An upset Alex asked billy, he wanted to see how much of his life was missed during the time trip, specially his love, Muriko

You have to understand Alex, you were lost for almost a decade, there are bound to be some changes, important changes, you cannot simply walk in and expect her to...

Pausing for a second, Billy wrote an address in a piece of paper and gave it to Alex

Alex arrived at the place at an astounding speed, during the drive there all he could think about was Muriko, how he must have missed important events in her life, like graduation or whenever moments of sadness she must have passed because of him.

Stepping into the porch, just seeing the mailbox would be the first blow of many to come

Perry? Billy must've given me the wrong address, should be Yamaza...

He saw Muriko from her living room window, she looked different, aged, but as beautiful as always, and then he saw someone else, he then saw him kissing her, and with a baby on his arms, he then passed the baby to Muriko, the three of them a happy family, something that should've been in his and Muriko's future

All he could do was get on his knees, the shock was too much, it only took seconds but in that time it felt like an eternity in hell

Regaining his feet, he pondered about Billy's words, how could he just waltz in and destroy a formed family? he knew that he must've lost his chance, and that she had moved on, something that he knew she would do, as that the only thing that mattered to him was her happiness

Good Bye, My love Where the only words that he whispered to her, placing the necklace with their picture together in their mail box, he went on his way back to Billy;s place, with tears on his face

"Well, I got this when we first got here. And I did it well for you." Steven said as he sat down next to Amanda. He sort of knew something was bugging her, but he couldn't put his finger on it. So Steven just sat down beside Amanda and put his arm around her. "Hey come on, you can tell me whats really bugging you." Steven tried to get her somewhat cheered up by kissing her on the cheek, but he knew it would take more than just a peck on the cheek to get Amanda to tell him. So he grabbed his acoustic guitar and began to play it. But he couldn’t get a song off as his phone went off. It was an alarm set in Billy’s cave, Steven just shook his head and walked out. “Looks like we have an intruder in the bat cave. I guess we should go check it out.” Steven grabbed Amanda’s hand and walked out to his 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix and got in it.

Upon getting in the car Steven turned on the car, a camera popped up and it shown a girl inside of the cave. “At least it’s not a Tyrranodrone.” Steven joked as he drove to Billy’s place, with his wife. He knew that the girl could or could not hurt the mission to stop Mesogog. As he got to Billy’s he grabbed the keys to the basement and just opened it. He seen the girl walking through and he snickered a bit, but he noticed two crystals. One Red, and one black. The Black One was encased in a clear substance rendering it useless. “Alright who are you, how did you get here?” Steven asked as he walked up to the gems, the Red One was glowing, but the black one wasn’t.

Steven looked at the girl, and then the crystal. “It’s a crying shame, the crystal didn’t choose me.” Steven handed the girl the crystal and introduced himself “I’m Steven, and this is my wife, and leader of the team Amanda.” Steven had sat down and kissed his wife on the cheek, as he knew something was bothering her, so he asked this time “Hey Mandy, what exactly is bothering you?”

Amanda Harper:

"Well, I got this when we first got here. And I did it well for you." Steven said as he sat down next to Amanda, refering to his tattoo. Steven put his arm around her and said, "Hey come on, you can tell me whats really bugging you." She frowned. She wasnt sure how he would take it. She didnt want him searching through the city with gun and kill him, though she knew he wouldnt do that, she didnt want to take the risk. She sighed as he started to play the guitar but then the alarm for their base went. Steven said it was an intruder but it was just a girl. "A girl?" she asked herself. "I wonder how she got in there and who she is."

They no sooner arrived and the girl looked a little scared, or at least she thought so. Steven on the other hand was looking at the red gem. She then noticed it too was glowing. Steven looked at the girl, and then the crystal. “It’s a crying shame, the crystal didn’t choose me.” Steven handed the girl the crystal and introduced himself “I’m Steven, and this is my wife, and leader of the team Amanda.” Amanda smiled, "Hi this all probably weird to you, but it's okay I know how you feel." Luckily, Billy walked in. He said he would tak over from there.

Amanda went back upstairs and had sat down and kissed on the cheek. “Hey Mandy, what exactly is bothering you?” Steven then asked again. "Well before the wedding when Venus and I were shopping for wedding stuff, Alex showed up." She wanted to look at Steven's reaction but she figured she would finish first. "He said he loved me and tried to explain why he left me in the first place and that only made me more confused. He pulled me into a dressing room and started to kiss me trying to convince me to come back to him, and I almost did. But I knew right then that you were more important and luckily I was able to kick him off and Chris also gave him a hit" she sighed. "I guess I feel a little guilty just leaving Alex like that...... and I have been feeling bad about not telling you sooner."

Alex Martin

The university gym can be a good thing for someone with pent up stress, nothing like punching a bag to release tension, but in his heart, he prefered to punch a bad guy until submission; with each punch traces of his past appeared on his mind, flashes of memories of friends, battles and love long past, he was crushed and all he could think about was that special woman he let go. He did not even saw that Steven and Amanda left, for the moment all he could focus on was letting go

After he took a shower he headed to the meeting place, he was taking his time, browsing the changes that took place during his time jump, from computers running faster to this thing called "hi5", now practically you could where everyone is; suddenly his dino gem started flashing

Something must be wrong at the cave, i should get there fast

Arriving at the place, he was ready for action, actually, he was more than excited for action, something to take his mind off the pain, but actually it would be the entering of a new player into their lives

Everything ok guys? came here as soon as i could Alex told Amanda and Steven, ready for battle

Its ok Alex, there is nothing wrong, actually i am glad you are here, this is Carmen, the how she got here would be explained later, but for some reason the crystal reacted to her presence, so i guess this must have happened for a reason Billy told Alex

Hello Carmen, i am Alex, glad you could join us, Alex told the girl, there was something about her that made him calm down, well at least getting to know someone new was a good point of the day

Carmen begins looking around the room hoping someone would be able help her get out of there. Soon enough she hears people rushing into the strange room as she bites her lip knowing that she had looked like some intruder to them. She begins removing her soaked hoodie and begins introducing herself"My name is Carmen and I kind of stumbled in this place you could say." She takes the Red Dino Gem and begins inspecting it wondering what in the world she was supposed to do with it. She begins looking up at them wondering when they would explain what was going on. She also wondered why they had given her this so called Dino Gem.

Amanda Harper:

"Alex, you mean the guy you used to date, and who tries to manage me?" Steven asked as he looked at Amanda "No wonder why I've not been working, now I owe him an ass kicking." Steven was mad, but at Alex and not his wife. As Steven was pleased Chris and Amanda hit him, but Alex seemed out to ruin both of their lives since he couldn't get Amanda, as well as Chris laying his hands on him. But Steven didn't go to the place, instead he grabbed Amanda by the hand and held it tightly, as if he didn't want to let it go.

"You are right, I'm sure Billy has everything handled." Steven joked as he kissed Amanda on the neck. "Shall we head home? I mean we haven't been together in a good while." Steven said as he pulled Amanda closer to him. He was ready to leave, as he found out Carmen wasn't an intruder out to attack them. He was more so happy that there would be a Red Ranger. Now it was just a chance for Steven to get that black one.

But Steven decided to take his wife back to the Dorm, just to spend some time with her. So he grabbed her by the hand and take her to the car. Kissing Amanda all the way there.

Mike McIntyre

Mike wasn't too far from Trey's place, it was less than a mile away. Even though he could've used his bike to get there, but he prefers walking, it makes him feels good. All his life he wanted to live a good life, and this was the best time of his life, he was happy with his life now, even though being a dropout isn't something to be proud of and they still had to gain a lot more fan following and catch some record deal before they hit the mainstream, Mike was ready to do whatever it took to make his band a popular one. And after half an hour of walk he was finally at Trey's house, he ringed the bell and Trey opened the door.

They headed to the room where they used to practice, on reaching there he was greeted by Billy who told him that Andy's birthday was just a day away, Andy was a friend of theirs and wanted them to perform there at his birthday party. He hung up on his manager and she sighed and stood up putting her clothes back on. She turned and smiled at him, she then answered his question from earlier. "Well I'm not sure if we will. I know Billy is trying his best here and back in our time. I do miss the others too. Plus, don't you want to see what will happen to us? I'd rather just live it and find out and not accidentally run into an older me and the store." She laughed at herself picturing that image. She put her jeans back on and a yellow tank and layed down next to him. "I'm glad though that were stuck here together." she smiled and sat back up.

"I think we should go back....I mean to Billy's I still feel bad just randomly leaving that girl with Alex and Billy, she may be nervous." She wasn't an expert with girl to girl talk but she knew how to relate, her best freind Becky and herself always knew how to give advice to each other so she figured she could try and help out the girl. "You should stay here though, don't you have an essay or something to do?" she suggested and she grabbed his shirt and threw it at him playfully.

She then took his keys. "Hope you don't mind" she joked as she left and drove over to Billy's house. She was lost in thought as she drove along but stopped on her breaks. Tyranadrones were all over the place not too far from their base. "Uh oh!" she jumped out of the car and messaged Alex. "Hey! We have a some company! Hurry over here." She then took a stance and yelled, "Dino Thunder Power Up!"

The atmosphere was a bit chilly, Billy tried to explain some things to Carmen about the Dino Gem and the responsibilities and obligations that i means to be a Power Ranger, Alex sat down in one of the chairs, these past few days everything changed in him, and it showed, from being an all around happy person to just brooding and ponder about what this new time might hold for him

"Amanda wait!" Steven threw on his clothes and followed her out, It appeared as Amanda left the parking lot Tyrannodrones and a warrior in Black managed to begin an attack. Steven ran to stop Amanda, but the warrior in black confronted him. The warrior in black tried to strike Steven with his sword, but Steven dodged it. "Woah, you almost hit me with that Zeltrax!" Steven kicked the Black Warrior away, and ran to see if Amanda needed help. But he seen Billy, Alex and Carmen run up.

Billy had thrown the black stone in the air to Steven, when Zeltrax decided to fire at Steven. Steven caught the Gem, but Zeltrax seemingly destroyed him. Zeltrax looked at the black spot on the ground and just began laughing. "It looks like your little love man is gone Yellow Ranger, you will be next!" Zeltrax went to strike Amanda when an invisible man kicked him. This invisible man was Steven who managed to get a crystal of his own. "Oh Zeltrax, you even lay a hand on my wife and I'll throw you a beating." Steven reappeared and threw Zeltrax back.

Billy seemed astonished that the Black Gem was infact compatible with Steven. Steven looked at his wife and smiled, he knew he was back in action. "Guess what, I'm back!" Steven said as he put on a gold wrist band. He then slammed the gem into it creating a Black Morpher with the head of a brachiosaurus on it. Steven grabbed a key that appeared in his hand and held his arms in the form of a cross and yelled out "Dino Thunder, Power Up!" Steven uncrossed his arms held them out infront of him and inserted the key into the morpher. Steven became encased in a white light. He then does a backflip and as he does it a black suit martializes. The helmet then latches on and Steven struck a pose ready for a fight.

"Hmm Black, I kinda like it." Steven said as he looked at his suit in awe. Zeltrax went for another attack, but Steven pulled out his Brachio Staff and struck the Warrior. "Hey Amanda, mind if I take back my spot as leader?" Steven asked as he continued to fight Zeltrax and several of the Tyrannodrones.

Amanda Harper:

Amanda was happy to see Billy and the others show up. But then she saw Zeltrax no sooner arrive but turned his attention to Steven. She had a feeling Steven would try and fight, and Billy then threw him a gem that Steven was looking at earlier. He then disappeared. “Where’d he go?” she asked. No one answered. She panicked for a second as Zeltrax started for her next but then Steven reappeared and took him down and made him back away. Amanda sighed in relief because once again she thought that she lost him. She called out to her ptera grips and fought off few tyrannadrones.

Then Steven asked if it was okay if he took over as leader. “Sure thing, I’m not very good at the job so be my guest.” She stood back and faced zeltrax. “Since your leader now, what do you suggest we do next?”

Carmen begins following Alex out of the basement putting the dino gem on her wrist yelling "Dino Thunder Power up!!!" As she changes into the red ranger she begins looking at her suit and then she sees the Tyranodrones and begins fighting them not sure what was really going on or what those things where. She starts kicking and punching them thinking to herself Carmen what in the world have you got your self into... As she continues fighting she feels one hit in her in the back making her fall to the ground she gives the Tryanodrone a dirty look and begins getting back up kicking it to the ground. She then looks around wondering how Alex and the others where doing. She had hoped she had made the right choice by becoming a ranger.

The blue and new red ranger arrived onto the scene, meeting with the yellow ranger, and surprisingly, Steven

Billy threw the black dino gem to him, as Zeltrax launched an attack at the same time, both connecting, seemingly destroyed, until suddenly he reappeared, like he was invisible, and with the black gem in his wrist, it seems that it was a perfect match to him

"Dino Thunder, Power Up!"

Steven had become the black ranger, Alex was glad his friend was once again with the team, as they were now complete
