Here is what we know on the upcoming 3rd installment in the Halloween remake series

Originally had an October 2010 theatrical release planned.
Production was originally said to begin sometime in November '09, however the Weinstein's decided that the project was being too rushed to accomidate director Patrick Lussier's schedule, so they opted to put everything on hold until he's free to work on this sequel.
This marks the return of director Patrick Lussier and writer Todd Farmer, who both worked on the My Bloody Valentine 3D remake together.
This will be in 3D.
It's said that a new genre director will be chosen, who will once again offer a "different take" on the series.
Writer/director Rob Zombie will not be returning.
The third film in the "re-imagining" on the Halloween series.

First off, at least Rob Zombie isn't back. And I'm glad they're taking it slow on this one.

A wise choice by taking it slow. For the franchises sake, I hope it turns out better. Rob didn't make no masterpiece, but he started off good in the first film. There was some things I liked about second film and things I didn't. But anyways, I think it's best that we have someone else take over. I'm looking forward to seeing how this one turns out. I have always dreamed of a Halloween in 3D. So, I'm all for it. As long as it brings life to the franchise again and doesn't screw it up.

I also think that it is wise to take it slow and Rob Zombie's Halloween was decent but his Halloween 2 was so stupid. I also like the fact that it will be in 3D, horror movies work better in 3D.

Yeah, we're way past that now. And Resurrection was pretty bad.

Legendary.

I just want a reinvention that stays true to the original in an original way. Like what Friday the 13th did and what I hope the new Nightmare does.
