The Story:
Thousands of years ago there was the Aparitus Paranomali, a group of mystics that have long guarded Earth from the dangers that lurk in the Afterworld. Many times powerful ghosts, monsters, and other such creatures have attempted to escape into out world. The leaders of the Aparitus, or AP, were known as Daemons, and they trained young warriors to fight off the Afterworld threats. One of the Daemons was named Reaper. Unlike the others however, he felt that the AP should, instead of simply fighting/destroying the ghosts, control them and use them to gain power. The other Daemon’s didn’t agree and were forced to fight Reaper over control of the Aparitus Vortex, the main gateway between our world and the Afterworld, used by the Daemons to return ghosts and to go into the Afterworld if necessary. When the fight was over, Specter had been knocked into the Vortex. The Daemon’s, not wanting him to return with ghostly help, sealed the Vortex within an Orb.
The Vortex Orb has kept the ghosts, and Reaper at bay for millennia. This also put an end to most ghost related activity as well. As a result, the Daemons broke apart and went their separate ways. However, as there were still sporadic ghost sightings, and because someone needed to guard the Orb to make sure Reaper never returned, Daemon’s continued to be trained over the years. They became fewer and fewer until today, when only two remain active. One is known as Daemon Matthias, and he has guarded the Orb for years. He lives with his wife, Daemon Luciana, and their two sons. The sons are unaware of their parents’ status as the guardians of the Orb, which is hidden beneath their large home.
One day, the younger son, Tobias, stumbled upon the secret passage under the house and discovered the Orb. He was surprised by his father, who had seen the passage open. Tobias had always lived in his brother Lance’s shadow and was jealous of him always getting the attention and praise. His brother was also arrogant and didn’t even realize how he felt. Matthias begged him to put the Orb down and leave, but he refused. Matthias explained what it was and again asked him to put it down. Tobias, realizing that he could use this to gain a measure of revenge against everyone who favored his brother, including his father, agreed to put the Orb down…..hard. He smashed it on the ground and the Vortex ripped open. Matthias and the son were blasted into the wall by the energy waves. Out of the vortex stepped a pair of nearly transparent white feet. They solidified as the hit the ground. He was almost completely white with black streaks across his chest. He was muscular with pale blue skin and blinding white hair that pointed up and waved in the energy wind. He carried a staff which reflected his deep red eyes. Matthias gasped “…..Reaper” Reaper looked around and realized what had happened. “I’m free!!! Finally, after all these years…..come my minions!!” From within the Vortex came three powerful looking ghosts. “Anamalor, Phantasmus, Clairvoya….Welcome to the other side!” Following them was a large group of smaller creatures. “Come forth my Ectopawns!”
He looked down at the Tobias. “I thank you for releasing me from my captivity. My many years in the Afterworld have given me unbelievable powers. I will share them with you and help you gain the revenge you seek. You will be the powerful one, not your half-wit brother! Join us and you will receive power beyond your wildest dreams.” Tobias looked at Reaper and then back at his father. He then took Reaper’s hand “Goodbye father, soon you will feel my wrath!” Reaper laughed in triumph “Hahahaha! This World is Now Ours!!” He and his minions, along with Tobias and the Vortex, disappeared in a blinding flash of light.
Matthias pulled himself up and ran upstairs as fast as he could. He found Luciana and told her what had just happened. Since the Daemon’s had been around so long, they acquired a fair share of wealth and thus had plenty to spare. Matthias had decided a few years ago that the Daemons should have a modern way to battle ghosts or Reaperer should they ever escape. He built large machines to fight ghosts but would need someone to sue them. A friend of his had done him the favor of tapping into the Universal Morphing Grid thus giving him the power to fight Reaper. Now he would need to recruit five teens to control the powers and protect the world from Reaper and his ghostly crew as the Power Rangers: Spectral Fury!!

When Reaper was freed, Matthias and Luciana contacted the non active Daemon’s to come and help fight and re-imprison him. Unfortunately, they all responded that they were too old and had families and lives to contend with. They did realize the danger of Reaper however, and so they each send a younger relative to help fight Reaper and his evil minions. Some of these were their own children; however others were simply nieces, nephews, or even just friends. It is these relations that led to these teens being chosen as rangers.

This is official information for the start of this RPG. Please note that I will also be adding this information to the first post in this thread so that it is easy to find.
A) I would like to start by mentioning a few additional rules:
1) All posts in the story thread should be at least a paragraph long. Most of us are expirenced RPers so I don't see this as being a problem.
2) If you are going to be away from the board for an extended period of time, please either leave a post in this thread telling us, or send me a PM so I know. This is a primary reason why past RPG's of mine have failed. As such, I have to be strict, so if you dissappear without telling me, I reserve the right to replace you without warning. Chances are I will send you a PM or two to try to get in contact before I do, but I want it to be clear that I will take action if necessary.

B) Next, I'd like you all to feel free to use this DT to work out potential storylines between characters. Any and all story ideas and feedback are welcomed.
C) Also, I would like everyone to take a few minutes when you have time and read through this entire thread as well as all of the character profiles in the casting call. This way everyone knows whats going on and espicially knows the backgrounds of the other characters.
D) In addition, while I have several monster names created, if you have any ideas for more monsters or villains please throw them out there.
E) Now, as per the begining of the story, I will open the Story Thread at some point tommorow (er, today, since its after midnight). I will make the first post as Matthias presenting Zeke with his morpher. Following this, the next few posts should be about each ranger recieving their morphers from Matthias and Luciana under the circumstances that you each described in yor respective character profiles.
F) Once each ranger has their morpher, they will all stay at the large Mansion sized home owned by Matthias and Luciana, which also holds the Rangers HQ in an underground floor (kind of like OO). I can't decide if the rangers should have a seperate hang out or not, but if anyone has any thoughts on that, pleaces put them out there.
G) Finally, everyone make sure you read through the morph description posted earlier in this thread by Offwhite. That way we all know how to morph.
If any of you have any questions feel free to ask them here or PM me. If I'm not around, you can also ask Offwhite or Totem as they are my second in commands having been in RPG's with me for so long.
