A bit of a "What if?" scenario

I'm not sure if this has happened in Sentai (I know it hasn't happened, to an extreme, in PR) but I was just wondering what would happen if something like ep 31 of Gaoranger were a permanent situation (i.e. What if an entire team of rangers were to be killed?) Has this ever happened in any sentai series? Does anyone think it ever will?

It'll never happen, because killing off an entire team would prevent any team-ups.

I don't think I've even seen it happen (with the one exception of Hyakyuu Sentai GaoRanger 31) that any Ranger has ever been killed.

At first I thought that the four seaside graves in Gaoranger vs. Super Sentai belonged to the four other heroes from Liveman, but I looked up their names and there didn't seem to be any matches. You can see the scene at about 3:10 in this video: YouTube - Gaoranger vs Super Sentai part 2 I looked at Wikipedia and apparently the four graves belonged to friends and allies of the Liveman team. Anyway, these are going to be spoilers if you haven't seen Timeranger or Abaranger, but...

Naoto/Time Fire gets killed and stays dead for good. Mikoto/AbareKiller also gets killed and except for a short time in Dekaranger vs. Abaranger, he stays dead for good as well.

Usually only one sentai hero dies at the end of a sentai series....only a few has died in some of the sentai series. A whole team being killed will never happened....

So for, there has been at least 5 or 6 heroes that has died.

I know that Kiranger (2) of Himitsu Sentai Goranger was killed. He replaced the original Kiranger, did a few eps, got killed by a canopener enemy and was in turn replaced by the original Kiranger.

Also I think Denji Yellow died, but I'm not sure. Miss America was severly injured and therefore retired. Jet Black was shot or stabbed in the final episode of Jetman, He never died on screen and did reappear in Super Sentai World (big 5 season team up). AbareKiller died on screen blowing up on Top Galer while flying away from Earth. TimeFire died (I think). That golden guy from GoGo V died. I dunno about any others, and I'm pretty sure there were never multiple rangers wiped out. In Power Rangers the closest thing to die was Zordon, I guess.

EDIT: Also, when AbareKiller appears in the team-up of Abaranger vs Dekaranger everything points to a temporal return from death as he is engulfed with white light, IIRC

In Power Rangers the closest thing to die was Zordon, I guess.Also the first Magna Defender, and Kendrix, although she didn't stay dead. Both in Lost Galaxy.

When did Shurikanger die? I watched Gaoranger vs Hurricanger and Shuricanger was still very much alive then.

He didn't die. He showed up in Abaranger vs. Hurricanger.

I apologise for my mistake there. I guess the sentai team-up movies aren't considered canon story (at least not Abaranger vs Hurricanger).

No I don't want the whole team to die,that's too depressing. I say bring back Tatsuya. He's like the one survivor from Timeranger[I think,I've only read about it on Sentai Spoilers],and they didn't bring him back in Gaoranger VS Super Sentai,then fans complained and they STILL didn't bring him back in Boukenger VS Super Sentai. I believe Tatsuya is AkaRed,he wouldn't just sit around.

So that's bad enough as it is. And are we gonna see Tatsuya in the next anniversary teamup? I doubt it.

That's because Gaoranger vs. Hurricanger took place before Shurikenger died.

He didn't die. He showed up in Abaranger vs. Hurricanger.

He did show up in Abaranger vs. Hurricanger, but he only seemed alive because the writers didn't provide an explanation for how he could be there. I think his return was the same kind of thing as AbareKiller's brief return: he came back just long enough to help turn the tide of the battle, then he went back to the spirit world.

Tatsuya wasn't the sole survivor of Timeranger, he was just the only one of the remaining five to stay in the 21st century when NeoCrisis had been destroyed and the 21st century had been saved from oblivion. I agree that they should've brought him back in Gaoranger vs. Super Sentai. AkaRed wasn't supposed to be a real person, he was just supposed to represent all of the Red Warriors that had come before Bouken Red. In other words, he was an embodiment of their combined spirits.

I know it's not actual death, but it's related; I thought it would've been a cool story arc if the retro rangers continued the series after all of the Overdrive rangers had their connection to the morphing grid severed... but again, they don't ask me :P

If I'd have written Overdrive I'd have had the Retro Rangers come in episode 3,take down the rangers and Hartford and be the Overdrive Rangers for the rest of the series.
Then when Tyzonn morphed Jason would arrive,punch him in the face and steal his morpher.
