Who Wants to See Shinkenger Adapted?

So, this is a simple question, which might lead to some not so simple answers. Who wants to see Samurai Sentai Shinkenger adapted for English speaking audiences, either dubbed or with English speaking actors?

I personally think it can be adapted fairly easily. Look what they did with Hurricanger to Ninja Storm.

After seeing what happened with RPM(despite the fact that the guy who made it so awesome got fired), I still want to see what they'd do with one more season before it ends.

I voted for dubbed,I mean it's pretty unlikely that we'll get an adaptation and I think it's about time we got a bit more tolerant of live action dubs in the West. It would be interesting. But I would still like to see an adaptation so long as they're still samurai,and the red would probably have to be from Japan. And a real Japanese person,not an Asian-American because they're not asian enough.

I wouldn't mind a dub if it's done right, but I'd rather they adapt it the way they've been doing. BUT, like a few others, I'd also like them to stay samurai and have a Japanese actor as red if possible. If not, I'd still be okay.

I'd love to see a Power Rangers Season 18 based on Shinkenger, but I'd also be quite happy with it being untouched except for the addition of English subtitles. In my opinion, Japanese is a beautiful-sounding language and an English dubbing would create an incomplete experience.

Try getting kids to read subtitles. And anyway,live action dubbing is just the same as anime dubbing. There's gotta be ways to get around words not matching. Just change it so it does match. And there can always be an option on the DVD to have subtitles,although that may cause arguments as to who wants subtitles and who doesn't.

I personally don't see what's hindering it from getting released in the states, I mean sure it's culturally dense, but that hasn't stopped games like Wario Ware and Rythem Heaven from doing well.

Yeah. Adaptations are cool and all but when you look at Korea and China with their dubbed sentai don't you get a bit jealous? If it was up to me we'd have a dub AND an adaptation but that's not gonna happen!

When did I mention kids? I said that I would like to see Super Sentai aired on American television in its pure form with English subtitles added, meaning that in my idea of a perfect world, it would happen, not in the real world. Live action dubbing is not the same as anime dubbing. In live action, mouths have a full range of motion whereas in animation, movements of the mouth are often simplified to reduce the number of frames that need to be produced. When you have simpler mouth movements, it's easier to fit any sort of words you want to them. When mouths have a full range of motion, it's not so easy to fit any words you want to them.

YEAH! Took the words right out of my mouth. Japan got both at one point,I don't see why we can't. Now I'd LIKE to see an adaptation but that is highly unlikely so if it's nothing,a cartoon[which Power Rangers' major selling point was always "it's not"] or dubbed I'd go for dubbed.

What would be the point of dubbing it? Wouldn't it get lost in our culture and be failed. Not only that a lot would be changed in the show. If you look at what Power Rangers can't get away with here then Sentai shouldn't even make the airwaves unless it's on a different channel with a new owner of rights. We all know Disney isn't selling anything anytime soon and no one wants to get in a legal battle with Disney.

No. Power Rangers is not Dora The Explorer. There shouldn't be a reason to have to pause a show just to explain words. Plus with all the editing they'd have to do to remove blood, curse words, emotions that don't fit with what the dubs are trying, shit like that, they wouldn't really have a full show. You can't really expect Disney to dub a clearly Japanese series that's meant for kids, for kids. Disney knows as well as we do that kids might think the Japanese version looks cool but once they watch it they're not gonna have the patience to sit there and read sub-titles or try and match up the words to that characters mouth. It'll look bad and tacky.
