Okay here we go. Marvel is now owned by Disney : [Comics] Disney to buy Marvel - Otaku Hero Access (didn't want to turn that thread off topic.) Power rangers is owned by Disney. Also

Top left clearly says Marvel so the old ranger comics = Marvel. Now people are saying Disney is going to relaunch MMPR So maybe we'll get either a) a new non-canon power rangers series which would be mighty morphin' or b) A new canon series ie the next season but in comic format (like buffy season 8 did) or c) a reboot comic series i.e alternate world starting from scratch.
Out of the two i'd rather have A or C for the likely hood if they did we could get Power Rangers/Avengers team up comic like Marvel did Transformers/Avengers.
So what is everyones thoughts on this?

I think that PR should stay away from being comics. I think that there isn't really a good spot for it. If it was to be a normal audience comic (i.e. Spider-Man or Avengers) then it wouldn't be playing to a fan base of the show. However, I think that to make it simply an all-ages comic would further to re-enforce PR's status as purely children's entertainment.
Also, the Rangers wouldn't be a good fit in the Marvel U. Their concept is too off-beat to be taken seriously.

I disagree as how many older power rangers fans who liked MMPR grew up and now read comics? or watch films like Spider-man or the dark knight. As a one off cross over it could be really fun to read and see.

Well, seeing as how I am one of those people, I disagree.
Power Rangers the Comic wouldn't work for the same reason that an Animated Power Rangers wouldn't work. It would loose the charm. Power Rangers works so well as a Live Action show. That's what makes it stand out. And yes MMPR did have comics and Ninja Storm and Dino Thunder had Cine-mangas. But they didn't last. I think that there are fans that would love to see it. However, I think that MMPR's place in the current pop culture is more of a nostalgic love, rather than a die-hard fandom.
Plus, it would be hard to accept the Rangers into the Marvel U. They would need to be a separate world to work. I think that the market isn't really there for a Power Rangers comic.

With no tv show there is a market. Plus Power rangers doesn't have to be in Marvel universe they can be separate universe but with possibility of crossing over with magic or portals.

As much as I would love to see a PR comic series to help keep PR alive and most likely use a variation of Rita Repulsa's most famous line "Magic Comic, make my fandom grow!", the MotD format just isn't sounding right to me in comics. Last I checked, comic books don't really do that but have recurring enemies (Joker, Lex Luthor, Kingpin, Venom, Green Goblin, Magneto, etc.) instead. Sure, footsoldiers are okay, but the MotI (Monster of the Issue) doesn't sound like that great of a concept. And for the record, I believe Marvel would be the only one able to work onsuch a comic, on account of toku history, but it just doesn't sound like it would work too well.

Perhaps I misspoke when I said that there would be no market. Show or not the market would be there for the younger fans. However, if Marvel was to market it, they would have to do it along the lines of their Marvel Adventures stories. Now those titles are all ages and I have enjoyed what I've read of them, however they aren't something that appeals to everyone. The property is a children's property. Mighty Morphin may have adult or grown up fans, but I think that any attempt to make a comic with them in mind is going to fail. You have to consider that to many people Power Rangers will never be anything more that a show they loved when they were little. It has huge nostalgia factor and I still enjoy watching it, but that doesn't mean I would put down 2.99-3.99 monthly for it.
Perhaps an out of cannon mini could work, but the Power Rangers meeting the Avengers? I don't think so.

I think you can guess why it didn't last. Yep, World War II. :( Paper got rationed, it's stablemates The Beano and The Dandy (which both still exist to this day) lost more than half their pages and switched from weekly to fortnightly, and The Magic folded.
Back on topic, the UK already has a PR comic, but it's inexplicably still focusing on the Jungle Fury team, even though RPM has been on Jetix, and now Disney XD, for a few months.
