I haven't watched/read this series but I was wondering if it was any good.

Yes it is definitely worth watching/reading. The ending is good or bad depending on which side you choose to take in the story.

To me the anime was descent but it took to some scenes out from the manga near the end and it really turned me off when they gave Light and L almost a yaoi moment. (I think it was to attract fan girls)

Other then that is a good story, has a good drama, and at times humor.

But I give the anime series 7/10. Definetly worth watching, also Matsuda, Ryuk, and L are the characters worth watching.

Best manga I have read one of the best anime. If you want a more exact story read the manga it as the way it was originally planned.

L is my favorite character by far. You should lso watch the Anime because it as one of the best sound tracks for an anime in my opinion and it as some pretty cool scenes.

I saw that there was another death note movie coming out and I keep seeing a death note book at this store I go to some times. I thought what the heck I might as well watch it. Thanks for your opinions

Death Note is by far, one of my most favorite animes. It's full of twists, storyline and questions. I would strongly recommend you checking it out as it's worth it. The dub is very good aswell, which is surprising since dubs are not always up to standard. :)

The whole thing is tolerable and decent until Ryuk leaves for the first time, and we get *cringe* Misa Misa, who just goofed the whole thing up and made it suck.

Then it just seemed to repeat itself with Light, his dad and L just constantly going "But if so and so was Kira, then Kira wouldn't tell Kira that Kira did that, they would most likely try to pretend they weren't Kira to throw off the real Kira, Kira Kira Kira Kira, are you Kira? No wait, maybe I am? If I am Kira, would Kira think like I'm thinking now? I don't know, but then would Kira know? What if you don't know? Are you Kira? If Kira doesn't act like you, you might not be Kira after all! OMG BUT MAYBE I AM?!"

Epic yawn.

Along with L just pulling random percentages out of his behind just to try and look more clever than he actually is.

"Um, 63% chance of you being Kira based off nothing, but wait, your reaction to the random percentage I pulled out of your behind makes me lower the percentage to 27% for no reason whatsoever that I cannot support, the chance of me being Kira though is clearly 48% because I said so and any percentage I say is automatically right."

The whole thing was flawed.

It's an alright shonen, just not when Ryuk leaves. Seriously, for me, Ryuk was the only likable character.

Misa Misa presence just ruined everything.

It did suprise me why it was classified like that.

Honestly though, even though Light is the main character, I didn't like him at all. It was a shame. From what I have heard they wanted to have L stop him, but because of the popularity and wanting to end the series with 108 chapters they had Near stop him instead.

My Fav Characters are

L was a cool character, showed that he was smart but quirky as well.

Ryuk, I liked how he just sat and observed also he was quite humerous aspecially to light's foil.

Matsuda, was probably the most relatable as he wasn't smart but he had the can do attitude. He was conflicted to what was right at times but he would still do the right thing. He also got points for shotting Light several times.

Aizawa, to bad they started to develop his character more towords the end. He became very suspisious of Light which was effective, and he started to show leadership qualities as well.

I was hoping that i turned out L never died and he proves Light is Kira.

BTW I watched the whole season within seven days so I am a fanboy now

Anyways, Ryuk was awesome but they got rid off him for more than half the episode which pissed me off!!!!!!

You guys all so have to see that Misa was comic relief and so was Matsuda (but not entirely, especial at the end)

ALSO, I was made that Light died in more dramatic way then L. L was the coolest character and he only got a minute of shock and awe while Light had like five freaking minutes of him running all wound and what not. He had ANOTHER five minutes of him lying down on some freaking stairs. C'mon... Seriously!!! (The ending was also slightly ruined for me because some one told me Light died)

But I was in for Light to die put in a cooler way than a cleashe(O God I cannot spell) of a heart attack.

I guess you can infer that Misa would be grief stricken but she pulled a madame butterfly(so we think) which was ANOTHER cleashe(uugghh...)

Favorite episode was episode two when Light killed Linder but then L comes up and he is like, "B*tch I know where you live!" Hi-Larious!

I felt that the finale of Kira was so unlike the previous Kira that I witnessed. It's like in the last episode he just completely became a character we hadn't been watching from episodes 1-36.

New World wasn't the same Kira at all.

It was probably due to the fact that L got replaced. You couldn't replace Kira cause he was the antagonist for the series which is probably why it stood out to me. Kira dying was the end.

Eh. I don't think so. We saw that Light would go to desperate measures to make sure his plan wouldn't be ruined. He would always freak out in his head. He put his family's lives behind his New World plan. Everytime there was a road block he couldn't freak out because of the position he was in. At the end, Light has no choice when he's proven as Kira. He had to freak out, he tried to buy time, he thought he had won when he lost. I thought the ending justified the series and I didn't feel it was rushed. It is a matter of perspective though.

I didn't like season 2 Light that much. In season 1, he was almost always in control and out-manuvered his adversaries almost all of the time. But in the 2nd season, it was almost as if he had caught Misa's stupid or something, because he kept messing everything up, especially in the beginning of the second season.

I loved the show and think it had it's flaws because the character's had flaws. To me Light should have taken his time, tested out the notebook and then after graduating and whatnot he should have taken on the role of Kira. I mean look how he managed to pull the wool over L's eyes and his father's and his comrades!

And he did that in what, weeks! Imagine if he had taken months and planned and planned...he would be the ruler of the world. Before Ryuk killed him hehe.

I did enjoy the movies as well, very entertaining...the acting isn't the best but I still enjoyed them.

Did you know (and if somebody here already said this, I’m too lazy to go check) that America wanted to make their own Death Note live action movie? They stopped it before it got too far. I actually wanted Zac Effron to play Light Yagami and Tobey Maguire as L and Zachary Quinto as Light’s dad.

Interesting, I think if America does their own adaptation of Death Note it should use characters other than Light and L...maybe show us what happens if a Death Note happens to fall into someone else's hands and Near must now go after them? I don't know...but I think an Americanized version of Death Note would likely be crappeh. But time can only tell, if they do it than I'd definitely watch.

I know your joking, and your showing your disdain for Zac Efron as Light just face facts Zac looks just like Light, because he was in a movie you dont like does not mean hes a bad actor hes stated he want sto do darker roles so Light is a good role for him, and in case you were not joking here read this
