we all know TJ replaced tommy and became blue space ranger.. WHAT IF tommy was not replaced? i mean storyline would have changed right? how can he be second-in-command? what would happened?

I asked a freind this question once before and he said if they kept Tommy. Then they would have made him red and set the story around him. Mostly becaue Tommy has a huge fan base. So if this were true then Andros probably would have never been created.

They would have still had Andros, but he'd be more of a Cam/RJ type character. Mentor/Ally at first, then he'd become the Silver Ranger.

I mean just picture it.

While Rocky may have started the trend for "blue being insecure about his chain of command", it would be TJ that helped develop it, why not have Tommy develop it?

Personally, it would have been interesting to see. And would have made PRIS even more great.

Personally, I found that, during his early Green Ranger days, that's pretty much the role that Tommy was taking anyway.

Well, if Tommy remained part of the team through PRiS, perhaps they would have made him the Black Space Ranger rather than the Blue Space Ranger, as MegaBlack was second-in-command in Megaranger.

The reason why T.J. was made the Blue Space Ranger rather than the Black Space Ranger was because Saban didn't want to have another African-American character as the Black Ranger, considering the criticism they recieved when Zack was the Black Ranger (and when Trini was the Yellow Ranger) in MMPR S1.

Well I agree with Super Jeff, if Tommy would have been in IS, he would have been the Red Ranger, like the rangers go in space, Andros helps them and gives them the morphers, then later joins them as the Silver Ranger. Seeing as Tommy had a huge fan following, making him 2nd in command would have affected the ratings and the show itself, cause Tommy fans like myself wouldn't have liked it.

i have a theory of What If:

i was thinking Tommy, got attacked and was serverly injured while going to space(with the original turbo rangers) and everyone else became rangers and andros is still the red ranger(who gave them the powers). then when he recovered it was revealed that the silver ranger's power was keeping him alive and it used to be andros' friend power. despite protesting at first(since the power is memory of his friend "zhane" who died of ko-35 dark spector's induced disease), andros allow him to keep the power since tommy was one of zordon's chosen. oh and since there would be a spot for blue ranger(justin would never make it and i think i speak for every1 when i say nobody wants him anyway), i was thinking maybe andros already had a blue ranger friend in his ship..

yeah Zhane could have been the blue ranger, and Tommy could have been Silver in that way, it wouldn't have disappointed the PR and the Tommy fans, cause he would have been a "Special" ranger, and Tommy always looks cool as the Sixth/Special/Extra ranger.

Think about it.

Andros WAS the mentor of PRIS, not Zordon, most of the time, it was Andros there, HE was the mentor of that season, and guided them.

It would set the trend for mentors not being Rangers straight away, but coming as special rangers later.

No, I would've kept Jason for Turbo, but he couldn't be in Space for some reason, but still had a guest apperance.

I would've also made Trey part of the regular cast. Not sure how it would've worked though.

Mystic Force is interesting because both Mentors are already rangers, only one gets her morpher stolen, and the other was stuck as a frog. Essentially the Mystic Force rangers were joining another, already established team, (I know they were the chosen five, but still).

I do agree though on the Andros thing. If Tommy did stay on the only logical thing to do would to make Andros the mentor. Maybe there would have be tension between the two, because Tommy always thought he was Zordon's #1 boy.

Well Zhane was a ranger anyway. So I'm sure there would be a way to already have an active Silver morpher somewhere before the rangers ever entered the Astro Megaship. So, with a few turns in the storyline, Andros could already be a ranger but doesn't use the morpher straight away...

...maybe Andros lost it, or maybe it was damaged and lay somewhere on the ship being recharged until the rangers needed extra power (like with Zhane), then Andros becomes the Silver Ranger once more to help the rangers, risking chances that the morpher would be fully recharged, but it ends up that it wasn't, and Andros demorphs during battle unavoidably, just like Zhane did. So really, it would be an extremely similar storyline, just with Andros, not Zhane. Personally, I could see it working.

The storyline with Silver's morpher losing power after 2.5 minutes was direct from Megaranger. Easy fix: Say it was originally defective, but Billy fixed it.

Well, their would have been 5 turbo rangers and 4 remaining PRIS powers. So I think instead of having Justin stay behind, Tommy would have stayed but then later would have come back as the silver ranger. But their is no way in hell that any of the earth rangers should have been leader of PRIS whether it was Tommy, Jason, Adam, etc....
