Just something I found out.

Ok right, now in the Mutiny, Zedd appears, and Rita's putties are replaced with stronger Z putties. Stronger, tougher, more durable. In fact the likes of Jason, Tommy, Zack, Billy, Trini and Kimberly, even with past experience of putties, found them too tough, overwhelming, and had to actually morph to hold them up, the first time since they actually first recieved their powers. This is, until Jason finds out, you hit the Z and this makes them easily defeated. Thus becoming a habit, and the fight against Z putties becomes unmorphed which lasts throughout the series.

Ok so now Rocky, Aisha and Adam enter the picture.

No previous experience of Z putties, or even Rita's putties either, in general, and yet they don't struggle unmorphed with these putties at all.

The first time the original five fought Rita's putties they were too nervous and underconfident in their ability, and had to morph.
The first time they fought Zedd's putties, the puttie were much stronger to what they're used to, so they had to morph.

The replacements started off fighting something that caused the originals to bring the fight to the next level, and they didn't (well they didn't even have the power yet, but still), and they knew about hitting the Zs without actually witnessing Jason's prep talk, they found it out on their own. The others struggled with what the replacements picked up naturally. So it would seem that Rocky, Aisha and Adam end up being tougher than the original five.

Now. Either Rocky, Aisha and Adam have amazing strength and razor sharp intuition above the original five. Or Saban screwed up somewhere.

Tommy returning as White Ranger.

Question

Rocky, Adam, and Aisha were probably just better fighters.

Tommy returning as White Ranger.

Sorry, how does that explain Rocky, Aisha and Adam being more badass fighters?

Or was that a remark at Saban screwing up? :D Lol.

Yes, or maybe Aisha, Adam and Rocky watched how Billy, Kimberly and Tommy did it.

But then that wouldn't really affect their already defined skills or attributes or make them that much stronger than the originals, as the originals pretty much struggled the first time without morphing, when the replacements breezed through it.

However, I agree about them picking up the combat strategy by observing Tommy, Kim and Billy. But in that case, that still gives Rocky, Aisha and Adam a much sharper intuition and independant thought than Trini, Zack, Billy and Kimberly (and probably Jason too) had at the time since they didn't need to be told, they picked it up independantly themselves.

Remember, when Rocky, Adam and Aisha originally appeared, Zedd was scouting them for his own evil ninja team. That implies he thought they were better than the main team.

Weren't they the Stone Canyon Ninja team?

The original MMPR that knew martial arts.:
Jason & Trini.
The other 3 got trained by Trini and Jason.

Then Tommy showed up and he knew martial arts like Jason.

Question

I'm pretty sure Zack knew a fair amount of martial arts, considering he came up with his own style.

He knew how to dance. And he was friends with Trini and Jason.

Just as Kim was a gymnast who hung out with them.

Question

Zack created his own fusion of dance and martial arts, Hip Hop Kido. That's not something one can do if they only just learned.

And he was teaching it by halfway through season one, so it's not like he just came up with it.

mayb the putties were lacking in sleep or zedd's plan was to keep the rangers "busy"(usually the plot) so the putties just didn't put in effort since they are addicted to pain.

I seem to remember Kimberly telling them to hit the Z.

Seems to me like Tommy, Kim and Billy were already engaged too heavy in battle. Rocky, Aisha and Adam joined in later, picked up the stragedy from observing the others, and it wasn't until after the battle that the two sides communicated with each other.

Kim didn't talk to the others until the battle was over.

That scene is from "Zedd Waves". I'm fairly certain the incident I was referring to was in "The Ninja Encounter" a few episodes prior. I'm downloading it to check now.

EDIT: Kim gives this instruction in Ninja Encounter pt III. Just after Billy and Trini freed them from the cave. Rocky Adam and Aisha run outside, join the battle and Kimberly shouts out "Aim for the Z"

This just sounds like a careless error on their part. Remember how low the show budget used to be.

Not to mention Saban had to temporarily stop production after they shot the unmorphed footage for "Opposites Attract" because Austin, Thuy and Walter left. My only nitpick with Season 2 aside from obvious ones stated previously was the fact of poor voices for the three departed Rangers and that it had seven episodes ("Zordon, I Shrunk The Ranger, Parts 1-3", "Party Crasher", "Lost And Found", "Yo, Ho, Ho And A Bottle Of...Rangers?" and an unknown one) that never made it past production, scrambling the order of the remnant episodes past the "Return Of The Green Ranger" saga.

I didn't know that. But it's good to know.
