Well, that's nice to know you don't watch it anymore.
As for me, I never watch crap shows. ;)

I can't believe I ever watched it at all when I was young.

Neither can I HOWEVER I think May,Max and Dawn are a lot more interesting than Ash and Brock are and Misty was.

I watch the new show sometimes. No way is it better than the old ones, but Ash is really starting to get on my nerves. And I wish Pikachu would just drown.

They should have ended it after freakin season 2 or something... now it's just retarded.
ASH, BROCK and MISTY<3

Every now and then a commercial will come on and I'll find it on CN and I'll watch it a little, but from the episodes I've watched, they are basically recycling the same stuff. Example: Ash goes from gym to gym, but not directly, he always stops in towns in between, thereby taking forever to get the last gym.
I wish they'd just make him a Pokemon master already and end it.
Shouldnt this be in the anime forum?
Anyay I still watch it, when I can, but for the most part I just play the games.

Pokémon is still showing? lol
But yeah, I haven't watched the anime in years and primarily play the games.:)
Maybe I should start watching the anime again...

Anime TV Show = Only gym battle episodes and pokemon league episodes. Anythin else sucks. Who wants to see Pikachu get kidnapped every week?
Anime Movies = YES

Also the new movie is pretty damn good as well. ''Giratina and the Sky Warrior''. Watched it today and it was much better than I expected.

I watched most of it back when they aired it on CN. It was decent.

I still do, mainly with my 6 and 3 yr olds.
Meh. I watched the first season. That's it. I lost interest after they took Ash and his crew to Johto. >.>
Every once in a while, I'll pop in one of the Season 1 DVDs, though. >.>

I stopped watching after S2 because the storyline the show built upon was dropped for random adventures.
I still peak in every once in a while.

I gradually stopped watching when Digimon started over here but just under two years ago I found out that the characters had changed, and I can watch anything with May,Max or Dawn in.

I like Dawn. She's really different from the past female companions. I love her choice of Pokemon aswell lol. She's a pretty good Pokemon Coordinator. Plus, she has Piplup and a Pachirisu!!! XD

I don't watch it very often though. The worst thing is Jetix UK are being traitors! I wouldn't mind them showing Pokemon if they bought in Data Squad, which it doesn't look like anyone's gonna do.

Tried Youtube/Veoh? They probably have the whole series right there on those sites.

There's no way Nintendo is giving up the rights to Pokemon.

They're milking this series for all it's worth...the games are awesome. The show needs a change, Ash should either gain his Pokemon master status and they should flash forward to like four years later or something to give him a little teenage look and bring in a new person to fill the shoes of 'pokemon trainer in search of pokemon master status.'. That might bring me back to watch it but I haven't seen it in a few years.

Can't lose Ash, he's the lead.
Question
09-19-2009, 04:07 AM
He shouldn't be.
They should change leads every area.
TokuFan
09-19-2009, 03:08 PM
Pretty Cure has the right idea[for ongoing franchises like that]. They give the leads two series[which is just long enough] then change them. I also like how Yu-Gi-Oh does it.
OG-SG
09-20-2009, 09:21 PM
They should make an anime out of the Pokemon Special Manga.
Digifiend
09-21-2009, 02:44 AM
He shouldn't be.
They should change leads every area. They change the third character to the female protaganist from the games instead. I do think they should use the male protaganist as a rival though, after all, Gary is Blue to Ash's Red, and he's in the anime.
Question
09-21-2009, 03:23 AM
Nah. They should just ditch Ash.
"I almost made champ in whatever league this is! Time to ditch all my trained pokemon, start over in a new area, and be surprised when the same thing happens again even though Pikachu should be pushing L3500 by now! I'm in love with Misty!"

What about bringing Brock along with him again and meeting a girl that he will leave at the end of wherever he's going?:p
Question
09-21-2009, 04:12 AM
Ash would be a mad pimp if he weren't a perpetual prepubescent.
(Alliteration! :))
I stopped watching Pokemon ten years ago and I haven't watched another episode since. The blatant merchandise-pushing that they did at the time kept me from ever turning on the show again and I honestly have no idea why I ever enjoyed the show. I realize that TV shows are at best bait for people to watch commercials, but they don't have to be thinly-veiled commercials like Pokemon.
Question
09-21-2009, 06:10 AM
...you say on a Power Rangers forum?

I'm in love with Misty!"Pikachu should already be at the maximum level 100, that's true. Think about it, if a Pokemon is overpowered, it would one kit KO any low level Pokemon. How does Pikachu manage to defeat an opponent so that Ash can capture them, without accidentally OHKOing them?

It was good in the beginning, but eventually, it kept draging on forever. They really need to end the show, but the handheld games are good.

Those are game rules, not anime rules.
In the anime, KOing the pokemon doesn't mean you can't catch it. You kind of have to most of the time, unless something's changed since I stopped watching.

Yes, I still watch Pocket Monsters ^^;
Hikari just got a Hinoarashi. Which is totally epic IMO. XD.
I watch the jap. version. I've gotten annoyed with the voices of the dubs, and the character's mouth not moving got really annoying. Dub was good up 'till the end of the Johto region. =|

Yes, I do realize that PR is meant to sell toys, just like I know that Castaway was meant to sell Fed Ex. However, the big difference between PR and Pokemon is that PR (to my knowledge) has never made any suggestions that viewers should go out and buy the toys. Full-blown commercials almost always make the suggestion that you should buy whatever is being advertised. I don't know if Pokemon still uses the catch phrase "Gotta catch 'em all," but that right there is a blatant suggestion that viewers should go out and buy Pokemon merchandise. Maybe I missed something along the way; if somebody can point out some blatant suggestions that were used in PR like the one that was used at the beginning of every Pokemon episode, I would love to hear about them.

I must be the only person that thinks Pokemon is better now than it used to be.
They've got Harley and Pokemon Hunter J now. Plus the dub got rid of that overrated theme.

I don't know if Pokemon still uses the catch phrase "Gotta catch 'em all," but that right there is a blatant suggestion that viewers should go out and buy Pokemon merchandise.Gotta Catch em All was only used on the Red, Blue, Yellow, Gold, Silver and Crystal games and the Kanto League anime episodes. It refers to capturing all 151-251 Pokemon, not buying merchandise.

Sure it does. Let me just refresh your memory a bit:
YouTube - pokemon opening 1 (english)
Did you notice that the song was written in first person? Why do you suppose that is? Could it be that they wanted to make kids feel like they were part of the adventure? Toss in the phrase "Gotta catch 'em all," and you've got a clever, subtle suggestion for kids to play the video and card games and buy any merchandise resembling the pokemon:
