Just finished watching it on youtube, and I have to say, It was a pretty solid episode.
The Good
Ziggy's backstory and character development:
The way they revealed ziggy's past in flash backs, how he was a trainee mobster for the scorpion cartel.
They also showed how behind all that talk ziggy has a heart of gold. (by taking the mob delivery of medical supplies and giving it to the orphanage.
The bad
6 episodes in and still no development of the core 3 rangers, that will change with the next episode though : Ranger Red. Hopefully we should get some good backstory for scott.
My score for Ranger Green: 4 out of 5
Anybody notice that the gun ziggy was playing with at the beginning of the Ep was a modified Thunder Stinger from Big Bad Beetleborgs.

Liked the epsiode, especially the jungle karma pizza cameo.
So that's who Benny is:confused:
Which Go-Onger ep did they base this epsiode from?

This series is really reminding me of Lost, with the flashbacks and the "boom" ending.

OMG Jungle Karma Pizza cameo! I was expecting to see RJ come running out after them.
As far as the story itself, I'm liking Ziggy more and more as I'm finding out about him. That shipment stealing while putting his own safety in jeopardy in the process all for the sake of the kids at the orphanarium thing....Ziggy is so Robin Hood.

Well I'm watching the espisode right now.
*K doesn't like Ziggy (well I hate her ) (And who does she think she is? she is a MIDGET for crying out loud:mad:, with not disrespect to short people).
*K is so mean .
*I like the background story about Ziggy :).
*The monster of the day looks like a monster from the machine empire.
*I like Ziggy, he is the only ranger I like from all the seasons, (cause I'm always with the bad guys) because he is the only one who acts normally to the powers, like anyone of us would react, not like the othres that from minute 1 know how to use their powers and call their zords.
*WOW  Ziggy is a real hero (The only one from that bunch of pretensious kids by the way) I knew it :).
*OH now she helps him:mad:, well you should have trusted him in the first place:mad:.
*I... I... I just can't stand her:mad:.
*Ziggy don't be so anxious to be her friend.
5 out of 5 because the episode revolved around Ziggy.

I loved the JKP cameo :D I hope we get some development for Flynn, Summer, and Scott soon.
K is a roaring *****, and I like it since I'm not the one she's going after.
Sorry but she really really is.
And I'm very surprised this season, especially after watching go-onger, very pleasantly suprised by Disney.
Evil thing? SERIOUS Hot rods? Gansgters? A real premise besides the old worn out evil space aliens? An episode about different ways to forcibly undress people? Now THIS kinda of stuff is how we keep an older audience entertained while being restricted to children's programming!
Now if freaking Ninja storm, wild force, Dino thunder and OO had been written like this, we'd have a Lot better ratings. And I can definately see the PRiS stuff starting to show up.
GO go RPM rangers!

It was a great episode and I liked the editing of flash backs about Ziggy's past. LOL I agree with you, Kayube, that the flashbacks were very Lost like. Yay Ziggy! I was hoping Dillon would somehow save him but I guess Dr. K will do. XD; I totally pointed and gasped at seeing the JFP cameo! <3 <3 Maybe I was right in that RJ made a franchise out of it? XD Or maybe there will be a JF/RPM crossover?? hmm I give this episode 5/5. <3
Flynn's line throught out the episode were funny. The one that got me the most was "The gaint magnet ran away...I can't believe I just said that out loud." I just wondering what Flynn's face looked like under the helmut. XD And when Ziggy's zord combined with the others, Flynn points out that the primary colors were all thrown off balance. That was a funny line as well. XD

it was awesome! :D
Time for Pros & Cons!
Pros:
New RPM opening credits! Ziggy is now the 4th ranger and focus on him! :D
Ziggy teleports?! cool, i like one where he was stuck in the ceiling and even when he was shirtless! lol
JKP Cameo?! totally awesome!
High Octane Megazord with Shark Zord look cool
Cons:
no Tenaya.. :(
Dr. K forced Ziggy to removed his morpher.. how rude!

pros
1. Ziggy's past was revealed.
2. JKP's cameo
3. I liked how it was diffrent for a monster not to talk.
4. Despite a Ziggy episode, Flynn had the best lines.
5. I liked th interaction between Ziggy and K, it seemes a like/hate relationship.
cons
Wasn't cournal Truman supposed to be watching ziggy? If so how come the mob just stopped bye and abducted.

I like how Doctor K was being towards Ziggy. Even though I love Ziggy, and he's my favorite character, you can't blame Doctor K for wanting the best operator for the series green. though I think she did start to become friendly with him towards the end, which is good to see. I loved the character development we had of Ziggy's past and how he was all ''Gangsta'' back then lol. Loved the Jungle Karma Pizza thing, totally awesome. Awesome episode, as always.

I can say, that I am absolutely in love with the car noises oriented with their fighting.
Wow.
Further more, Go-Onger is practically not involved with this season.. 90% of this series has been original footage.
I am absolutely DROOLING over this season. At the edge of my seat every episode.
This episode though, did a lot of justice for Ziggy. It was nice to see him be the hero for once, instead of being trampled on by everybody and their brother.
Half naked mobsters.. Awesome..
Doctor K, with the sonic blaster..
Awesome..
Doctor K being a shut in..
Awesome!
I am, although, disappointed that the core three are lacking in development..
Not awesome.. =(
But..
This episode, for what it is..
5/5!
If this keeps up, I'm going to have to increase my scale!

Dose anyone think they r reveling everything 2 soon in the series or is it just me?
I was actually thinking quite the opposite. So far, every episode has had something new in it, while at the same time, not revealing everything at once. The first times Ziggy and Dillon morphed, it didn't even show their official morphing sequence, nor did their zords appear in that episode. If this keeps up, each episode will actually add something to the story while avoiding filler episodes, which is one of the few things I disliked Jungle Fury for. (Casey teaches a kid not to steal a kite...?) This could definitely work out because we've hardly delved into the characters and backstories of the core team, and we still don't know everything or close to ANYTHING about Dillon or Tenaya 7. Those stories alone, along with the additions of the next rangers, their characterization and backstories, as well as their zords, new plot developments (and perhaps new villains maybe?), should be a good basis for the remaining episodes. I doubt RPM will run out of new material and resort to filler.

Seeing JKP made me hope that the Jungle Fury Rangers would show up in some way, even if it was just RJ, Lily, and Theo since they were still working there at the end of the season.
Although Piggy having a cameo in Mystic Force didn't mean an SPD team-up.
I can dream though.
Or maybe there will be a JF/RPM crossover??
I'm actually writing one of those. Or I have been since RPM premiered.
I liked how Dillon hesitated at the cell when they were going off to fight the giant magnet. He wanted to get Ziggy out of there! That was adorable. I'm already a Diggy fan! Did anyone else notice that Ziggy checked with Dillon before turning over the morpher? He looked over to him and only gave it when Dillon nodded. It's getting my slash bunnies all riled up.
I have to admit, as corny as it was, I liked the reasoning as for why the cartels are after him. All the little flashback scenes had me grinning. And as much as I don't like Dr. K, the scenes with her and Ziggy made me laugh. Especially when she rescues him and he pops out from behind the counter eating a sandwich and holding a pepper grinder. Nice Ziggy. Her 'Why am I doing this again?' look was gold!
JKP! I squealed when I saw it! It makes me wonder more just how far in the future RPM is supposed to take place. I've read somewhere that the press release said it's 2131 but that really doesn't make any sense if SPD is included in the timeline... I'm sticking with just after JF.
Anyways... We finally got a changed intro with Ziggy as the green ranger! Yay! No more shadow puppets though.

I did. Did you notice he was picking out a wedgie in the beginning, i could not stop laughing througout the episode. had to watch it three time before it got old

You'll never know because that was probably Go-Onger footage. :p
And that magnet line was "onli funnei beecuase it waas ein ah Neezeeland ahccent" say that out loud phonetically and you'll see what I mean. Said in MidWestern US "neutral" dialect and accent(offen inappropriately referred to as proper English in the states), that would have sounded snappy and curt.

we still don't know everything or close to ANYTHING about Dillon or Tenaya 7.
I don't know Dillon is okay that we need a backstory for him, but Tenaya 7 ??
for me Tenaya 7 is this "Tenaya 7: A Generation-Seven Gynoid created by Venjix to resemble a human." nothing more, infact we all saw how Venjix cretaed her and when.
It's like we need a backstory for Goldar,Rygog,Eclyptor, and so on, I think she is just a general and nothing more, I'm more concern about the other two generals they appeard in the first episodes and then Venjix shoot a beam to them and thats it, I don't know but they are not playing right the part of the bad guys.

Well, I only mentioned it because some suspect there to be a lot more to Tenaya 7 than just a robot that looks human. I've heard rumors of her having some relation to Dillon, since he, himself, is a human with bionic parts. While it's all speculative, I think her role will develop a lot more in good time. If it doesn't, that'd be fine too.

Not mention that line she said to Dillon "What are you supposed to be?" Makes it seem like they have some kind of history.

I agree with Dino~Thunder.
It was great that we found out why Ziggy was outside the dome and why he was so hated. But seriously..enough Ziggy now, let us get to know the other rangers a little.

well I doubt they would blatantly have 2 Jungle Karma Pizza signs simply to reuse the exteriors. We're not idiots, it was defiantly at least an Easter egg to make the fandom go crazy trying to explain it. (at least i hope :))
Back to topic
Another great episode for a great series so far. Ziggy is by far the best character. Z is a bitch, but it's a refreshing pace from the "everyone gets along and there's no conflicts" attitude PR tends to have sometimes. I like the developing friendship between Dillian and Ziggy. I like the more mature themes of having a freaking mob hitting businesses up for protection money and them trying to go after Ziggy. It was touching seeing him risk his life for those kids. I am still really confused about what time period this is in, and if the ENTIRE world is a wasteland or what. Surely Cornith City isn't literally the only human city on the entire planet...The JKP cameo was awesome, probably foreshadowing a team-up. This series is defiantly one of the best so far.

'Ranger Green' is an awesome episode. We learn about Ziggy's backstory in this episode. I thought that Ziggy didn't has it in him to be a ranger, but I was wrong. Ziggy doesn't have the skills of a ranger, but he has the heart of one. I can't wait to see what will happen next.

Sorry i didn't read through everyones posts but
1. how many magnant monsters does that make? it's funny he got owned the first time he used his powers though
2. that jungle karma cameo is probably the only nod we'll get to the past (refrence spd's piggy apparence)
3. I agree they are reavealing alot of things soon, which is good because once the season changes hands to the other writers, who knows what will be left out
4. this seems to put the timeline a little closer to PRJF then we previously thought...maybe RJ could have been an old man by then and gave it to his son/daughter who gave it to there son/daughter...who knows (yet maybe, but i doubt that will be visited upon anytime soon) so who knows where the other rangers MMPR-JF are...makes me a little upset..I don't wish to think of my favorite rangers as surrendering or being destroyed
and I'd go on, but it's just one person's opinion that most likely will be lost in cyberspace lol

Great episode. Surprising as RPM usually is, what with gangsters and clothes-removing machines and whatnot (though tbh, that "gangster" seemed a bit douchy, or a bit too soft... anyone would've kicked the crap out of Ziggy seeing how incompetent he was/is, instead of assigning him to transport a very very important shipment.) But yeah, cool to see something better from Disney as always.
Dr. K is quite grumpy but in actuality, that makes her all the more real. She doesn't go out, she worked her butt off on the ranger project... you can't expect a person like that to possess much sense of humour. Oh and yeah, to the person who was pointing out the inconsistency at the end of the last episode about Dr. K having a sense of humour, it's like I said, one line tells you nothing about a person's sense of humour and Dr. K apparently has very little in stock. Still, I like her character. It's different and IMO the curtness adds a bit to the leadership and emphasizes the seriousness of the situation.
The JKP reference was awesome. Since it wasn't the same place as the one seen in JF (unless we were looking through a side door), I'm willing to bet that by this time in the future, JKP opened up a different branch in Corinth or something. Whether it actually means something in the long term in terms of team-ups or not, it was great to see.
I don't see why people are going on about the lack of episode focus. To me, it seems well-paced and in tune with the storyline. I'd much rather prefer stories that flow easily rather than forcing other characters into focus just for the heck of it. That and there's also the fact that we've got about... at least 26 episodes to go? And at least 12 before the Wings show up. It's not like they're going to completely ignore the other rangers. No doubt we'll get some development in the episodes dedicated to their focus. We should see a bit more of them I agree but I think their time to shine will come eventually.
I also won't deny that I'm hoping that the slower pace could mean more episodes, which is all good IMO. The older PR (when it used to have 40+ episodes) had a similar pace if I recall correctly, so it could mean that they'll either have to stretch out the episodes, or condense the storyline...
JKP! I squealed when I saw it! It makes me wonder more just how far in the future RPM is supposed to take place. I've read somewhere that the press release said it's 2131 but that really doesn't make any sense if SPD is included in the timeline... I'm sticking with just after JF.
I believe I read somewhere (probably Eddie's interview) that it was in the near future. According to the premiere, Venjix started infecting three years ago and by a year later, had infected most of the world's communication, defence, etc etc. Then we saw the Power Rangers a year after that. It's safe to say that RPM is at the least in 2013 (2008 since JF + 5 years). I personally doubt it's after SPD... don't see much of those random aliens who were free to roam the earth in Corinth.
I too thought Tenaya 7 would turn out to be a relative. I thought she might even be his sister or something, considering the biological parts of her robotic structuring at least. But Dillon didn't seem to recognize her. Then again, he doesn't remember his past so yeah...
Speaking of which, the fighting in this episode was amazing! It's been getting a bit too monotonous lately with PR... grunting, kicking and punching and a bit of wire fu. But with RPM, for example the teamwork that the core three showed in defeating the monster, was pretty catchy. Great stuff.

My review:

Episode 6: Ranger Green
Date Aired: April 4, 2009
Rating: 5/5
Venjix creates a magnet monster and sends it to Corinth, and Ziggy must master the teleportation ability of his Ranger suit to stop it. He is unable to do so and ends up back in prison when he accidentally teleports into a bank vault.
The truth about Ziggy's criminal past and his involvement with the Scorpion Cartel comes to light. Dr. K strips him of his Ranger powers.
Ziggy is cornered by Fresno Bob and criminals from all five cartels, who plan to make an example of him.
Dr. K learns the whole story: Ziggy did not keep the shipment of supplies for himself, but rather donated them to an orphanage where an epidemic was taking place. Dr. K leaves the lab to go to his rescue.
Ziggy returns to the team and helps his friends defeat the monster, forming a new Megazord configuration with his zord.
Now, that's more like it! After what was largely a filler episode, we return to character development ... and we get some very awesome characterization of our "Ranger Operator Series Green" in this episode. A good part of the issues I wrote about concerning "Handshake" were addressed in some form in this episode, along with a few loose plot threads from the other beginning episodes of this season. Characterization on Power Rangers has typically been handled in series-long arcs -- for instance, Will's need to recognize the value of the "we," not the "I" (as he said in the finale), Sky's determination to live up to his father's memory, Anton Mercer's redemption, Jarrod vs. Dai Shi, and the like -- but more often than not, the characterization has been very lightswitch. Nick and Madison's romance, for instance. There were hints of it early on, yes, but nothing was really done about it until the last act, last scene of the finale. But this ... from the look of the next several episode titles, RPM is working on some major characterization for all five team members (and Dr. K as well!).
I enjoyed the Green Ranger training session; while the Black Ranger training sessions have been cool, it's nice to see Ziggy getting the one-on-one deal. I'd like to see some of the training of the core three, perhaps in flashback. Same deal when Silver and Gold get here. Ziggy interestingly addressed a question I'd been wondering about since Dr. K first came around -- Ziggy thought she was a dude! And it looks like he wasn't the only one; Flynn wondered as well! I won't say much about Green's first teleportation attempt. It was funny, yes, and even a little disturbing.
Before I go any further, I need to comment on the new opening credits. I guess they were waiting until Dr. K had been revealed so that both she and Ziggy could be added together. The two new Megazords (or formations) look cool; the one at the end looks like it's the configuration of all five zord attack vehicles. Speaking of which, I like how they are referred to as such in this series, and not simply "zords." And hey, I swore I would never say this, but ... the RPM theme is growing on me! I'm sure the new visual candy has to do with it. These new credits are pretty cool.
There was a lot of good humor in this episode, and that's something this series is doing well with so far. Ziggy playing with Dr. K's sound wave blaster was really awesome for a laugh! And completely in character for him, too. I loved Flynn's comment about how Ziggy's zord threw off the Megazord's whole "primary colors" thing. And yet, when it was time to dial the humor down -- to turn it off, essentially -- for the scene at the orphanage, the transition was flawless. We really see Ziggy shine in this episode, and we see that he does, in fact, have the heart of a Ranger. Rather than taking a semi full of medical supplies to Fresno "Jabba" Bob (Tenaya 7 was right on that count) to be sold again -- for profit -- on the black market, he donates them to an orphanage where the children are suffering from gamma sickness (which, I would assume, was caused by Venjix) and takes the fall for it to protect them from the wrath of the cartel. It was fun seeing Dr. K come to Ziggy's rescue. The white robe was a little much, but awesome all the same. I almost expected Dr. K to do a Phineas and kick everyone's trash. And hey, it looks like we're having a character-oriented episode about her next month!
I've little more to say about this episode, except that during the first five or ten minutes, I fully expected to give this a four at the highest. As it is, though, five out of five. Keep up the good work, writers. Scott is up next week, it appears. I'd like to see his relationship with his father explored more. They seemed somewhat at odds in the first episode, and it will be interesting to see where that goes.
