View Full Version : [PR] Government in Cities/States That Don't Have Power Rangers?

Reading through a thread I was reminded of how the Power Rangers were just comic book heroes to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles...and how Tori said the same thing in Ninja Storm.

Now it brings me to think of some things. The TMNT were based in New York at that time while the Astro Rangers were mainly in space but also resided in Angel Grove, California. The Wind Rangers were in Blue Bay Harbor. Now I don't know where that is but it got me thinking.

Is it possible that some cities or states do some kind of government conspiracy to keep people from knowing that Power Rangers exists?

I mean you'd think that every season people would already be in a panic or paranoid considering that somewhere in the US monsters attack and grow into giant versions of themselves and fight giant combining robots. I mean especially when saving the world only takes place in one city the majority of the time (thank god for RPM finally addressing that issue), you would think that everyone's heard of some event taking place yet when a new season rolls around in a new town, they act as if nothing has happened before (Disney Era, majority of the time).

Things that also made me think were the I know a guy who knows a guy, thrown around for "references".

Don't know if that's gov't conspiracy. it's just People who have no idea what's going on around them. There are some people who do not know about 9/11. that's in no way a cover-up!

Most of the cities in PR, are made up. Angel Grove, doesn't exist in real life.

However, I think for the sake of PR, I think PR only know of PR if they're in the same city as a ranger team is. For instance, if you live in, let's say Stone Canyon (a place that no ranger team lives in), they will know nothing about the rangers in Silver Hills.

Yes but surly "Giant Monster Attacks City," would be a national headline.

After a while, it's probably just news, like someone being murdered. You hear something on the news every night, after a while, you don't think about it too much.

OK, but consider while the megazord was battling the monster, hundreds of people died. Think about it, there has got to be an enormous amount of people who die from either being stepped on, inside a building one of them falls on, or even the giant explosion when the monster is destroyed. It's been 18 years, thats a lot of corpses. Does that not sound like a worthy story for national news?

It does. Maybe that's why the rangers keep their identities secret. lol No, I imagine the government, like an MIB type of agency keeps the public hush about it.

Most of the battles take place in unpopulated areas. Also, if enough attacks happen in a single city, people will move out of town in droves.

Makes about as much sense as anything else in this show.:)

I kind of assume not all of these are taking place in the same reality. Plus some are in the future.

Technically I don't think most seasons past Space, or maybe Lost Galaxy could be taking place in the same reality as the original series.

But yeah, you'd think the government would be doing more in most of these cases, except in situations were the Rangers already ARE part of the government. (If this were done as an original series for adults, they could really get into that!)

And yeah, I do think about all the damage they'd be causing! Although it's far less gratuitous than the random car chase scene in Batman Begins...

If they're all in different realities, how do you explain Forever Red/ Once a Ranger/ Tommy returning in Dino Thunder? They obviously exist in the same reality or else these rangers wouldn't exist in these seasons, and therefore wouldn't be able to return.

Maybe when Zordon was around, he kept it all hush hush outside of Angel Grove, and once he was gone, someone else picked up the slack. Hexagon Organization maybe?

To quote Tek from Invader Zim, the funny thing about humans is that they just don't notice.
