Hey guys, with all this talk about RPM being the last season of live-action Power Rangers even though nothing is confirmed yet. If this turns out to be the case, what would you guys rather have; a huge team-up TV movie or have the older and current seasons released on DVD in their entirety?
I would want to have both but that's probably not realistic at this point. The DVD releases would have a better chance of happening though. The team-up movie would require Disney to shell out the money for the older actors from PR seasons they weren't associated with. Honestly they could do both, its not like PR actors make the big bucks like Hollywood A-listers, most of them are affordable. The only ones I could see costing some real money are JDF, and AJJ, but since we know how nortoriously cheap Disney is when it comes to PR, it probably won't happen.

I would rather have the entire series from MMPR up to now released on DVD. If they released one more movie, that would be cool if it showed the current whereabouts of all the previous characters, especially those from MMPR up to Space.

Not to mention if they closed all loose ends in a new movie.

While I would go for dvd sets but they can't since they don't have all the rights. So I would go for a team up movie. How amazing would it be to see so many old rangers morphing back to action!

Team-up movie that finishes off all remaining active Rangers, ties up loose ends...
... and opens a slim hope that the money made from such a venture would convince those with the wallets that PR should stay.
It didn't work for Firefly, but then again, there wasn't as much merchandising to be done.

indeed! Disney should stop being cheap and try to get into an agreement that lets them release all the Power Rangers seasons, remastered, with original music, a few extras, and also make a new movie!!!!!!!!!

I'd prefer all the old seasons, though a RPM vs. Power Rangers special might not be that bad. They'd have to make most of it from scratch of course since the Go-ongers are only going to be meeting the Gekirangers and Shinkengers, not any of the previous ones... but that's probably just how they'd like it anyway.

And if Disney made it under Miramax, we'd probably get a decent movie.

Not true. The episodes that are currently on YouTube and Veoh could easily be taken down if Disney's legal department demanded it.
I'd like to see both done, though in order for a teamup movie to be practical it would have to limit the characters to 15 Ranger representatives from MMPR, Zeo, Turbo, Space, Lost Galaxy, Lightspeed, Time Force, Wild Force, Ninja Storm, Dino Thunder, S.P.D., Mystic Force, Operation Overdrive, Jungle Fury, and R.P.M. If I had to choose, I would go with the DVDs because as nice as it would be for PR to go out with one hell of a bang in an ultimate teamup movie, that one movie would just be a snapshot of a TV series almost 80 times it's length that was such an important part of my childhood and a fond part of my teenage and adult years. The DVDs of the show would cost considerably more to buy than the DVD of the final movie, but they would be worth every cent.
I think the DVDs should include as much behind the scenes footage as Disney might have access to and they should also include the unaired pilot of MMPR as well as the first couple of episodes of Jetman that I heard were aired with subtitles during the original premiere of the unaired pilot.

I would like to have the DVD because I would be able to watch the Originals whenever I wanted, probably in better quality.
As for the movie, I would like to see that too, but I know that Disney would just mess that up, because I know they would only use guys like Johnny Bosch and Jason Frank as the only original Power Rangers. Other then that, they would only use their Power Rangers.

I don't honestly think that Amy Jo Johnson or David Yost would come back anyway. That's prolly true of some of the other actors as well. I think that they should just bring back key people for epsiodes, IE Tommy as the Green Ranger with a cgi dragon zord, Zhane and Andros, the really popular characters and powers.

Lol Disney not being cheap? Thats a laugh. Thats like telling Mcdonalds not to put fat in their food. Its just not going to happen. Disney is a Monopoly and has been for quite some time. They only focus on making as much money as possible and prefer quantity over quality. In Power Rangers case I believe they think of it as a weak link in their lineup that is going to be severed if it doesn't become stronger. They don't care about their fans, only about money that is to be "earned"

I'd rather see an EPIC team up movie involvin KEY Rangers from ALL PR history. Obviously you don't wanna over crowd it so not every season will get represented

Well you can cut the fat right out with Turbo. I don't think anyone wants a Turbo representation anyway.

All the latest Turbo Rangers excluding Justin already became the In Space rangers anyway. So you can't really count them.

In that case, I say Phantom Ranger. Maybe then we can find out just who he really is.
