RPM Premiere Review (Warning Spoilers)

I am going through the pros and cons of the first 2 episodes.

Pros

1. Ziggy is already my Favorite character. I think next to dillon are probably already the most focused of the rangers in the premeire.

2. Love the dark theme. The whole world is under attack and polluted. It really does give you the whole post apocolyptic future mind set.

3. Got rid of a formula. Instead of ending episode 2 with a ranger battle, they end it with a fight scene in jail. That is going down to be a classic scene for me.

4. The opening scene did set the tone for the episodes. It also makes you ask questions like who was eagle 1? Was he scott's brother or a freind? How did flynn, scott, and summer get chosen to begin with? who exactly is dillon and why did he become who he is? This is all exciting to see what unfolds.

Cons

1. The theme song. I wish they used the the first demo. How come Ziggy didn't have is green ranger designation on their but Dillon does?

2. I wished they used the talking zord, because just seeing the eyes move on the vehicles is just weird without it. Makes it kind of akward.

Still a good premeire I have seen in a long time. Not since SPD I was satisfied with an opening episode. MF, OO, and JF weren't good premeirs to me.

I think we are in for a GOOD season here, I thought the two episodes were fantastic, the reason I can come up with as to why Ziggy doesn't appear as a ranger in the opening, he has yet to be offered a ranger position, Dillion has. I think it was just like the older seasons too just the drama already unfolding, I liked how the enemy base had a similar look to the machine empires from Zeo.

I'm stillwaiting for somone to Megaupload Fade to Black so the Road to corith was a nice new direction. The lead three are in introd in the 'one year ago bit' we get a Red Ranger who is already a field combat person who lost his partner (brother?) and has to deal wit his father seeming cold and heartless about it.
we see life returning to earth and Dillion trying to protect it.

And i'm getting a vibe that the bus in the pre year driven by Flynn, the Red car in the intro, and the Death Rider driven by Dilon morph, Ninja Storm style into the bio-mechs. Obviously we havent seen the unmorphed Bear RV and Birca but if my theory holds maybe the rangers will have a Knight Rider or even Turbo/Lightning Chaser-Storm Blaster relationship?

I'm a little mixed on it. I love the dark theme of the show. What's unique is that evil has already won, and the Rangers are fighting back to take back the world. However, the mecha footage from Go-Onger just doesn't fit with the story, especially with the eyes on the zord blinking and moving.
Hopefully the show will get better and they'll flesh out the Rangers more.
Also, worst theme song ever.

That was a good season premiere but it had sort of a terminator vs power rangers feel going for it.

How do you think this takes place in the power rangers canon? I mean, surely if it was then rangers from around the world, masker rider, vr troopers etc would have fought back....any opinions?

Well the Power Rangers were obviously well known in Ninja Storm, albeit they thought PR were just in the comic books, but still.

The whole world being taken over by Venjix, I wasn't believing.

I mean seriously. Where was Tommy? He had his Zeo morpher, surely he and the other Zeo Rangers would've stepped up. Or at least a teamup (such as forever red). And couldn't Tommy had contacted Billy so he could create some super anti-virus or something to destroy Venjix? The whole conquering thing just happened a little too easy IMO.

Vejix infected all Machines, ALL of them, that includes ranger tech. Their really only one ranger power that oesnt use technogy is some form, Mystic Force. And their duty is to the magical world not the world of man.

Every past season of power rangers outside of MF used technology in some degree
