Ok From what I have been hearing. It seems like the most legendary rangers have been Jason, Adam, Tommy, and Andros. Yes in each in their own rights they deserve to have these. But I think other rangers deserve to have this status just as much as these rangers.

Kendrix
She should also be on the list. As she made an Ultimate sacrifice to save her freinds. She was the first known ranger to have died (And somehow made it back) I think she deserved the legendary Status.

Eric Myers
He was the first sixth ranger to be an anti hero. As he didn't join the rangers at first but had no choice to fight with them He was also the only sixth ranger to get a battelizer type armor. I also learned he would have also died if the fox hire ups didn't think it was appropriate.

Sky Tate
I liked how he grew during the season. From a distant jerk to an open freind at the end. He also was able to avenge his father death by using Jack's Battelizer.

What do you guys think should also be apart of legendary status?

None of the Rangers are legendary...

legendary refers to something that may have a historical basis in fact but, in popular tradition, has undergone great elaboration and exaggeration the legendary deeds of Robin Hood

Tommy never really was an anti hero. Sure he was evil but when jason saved him. Tommy quickly became and allie. Eric on the other hand had more selfish motives when he became a ranger. SO that makes him more of an anti hero.

Only because Tommy chose him as his succesor, which would make him special or something... see the reaction of the rest of the rangers too =)

Billy-He was there in the beginning, and he was the last of the original five to leave.

Only two female Rangers really ever could count as legends: Kat and Kim.

oh well.. but tommy was the leader wasn't he? for a fan who had seen the saban era, one could tell the difference. of course the other rangers would not react much than TJ, because they don't know about Tommy. just examine the scene wherein Jason and Tommy had a handshake~ it's a way to emphasize who the senior rangers are.

another thing, try watching PRSPD..
In 20 years, S.P.D. cadets will have read all about him at the Academy.

in PRDT.. the 500th episode of power rangers: LEGACY of POWER, tommy has a video diary of the history of the power rangers.

THAT makes him a legend ^^

I define "legendary" based on three criteria: 1. Age (from the first six seasons), 2. Popularity (very large following), 3. Ground-breaking. There a lot of other rangers I would deem "classic" as they only meet two of the criteria. One is not enough.

Legendary:

The original six (being first ranger team alone is enough to deem them ground-breaking, they are all from the first six seasons, and they all have a sizeable fan base).

Andros

Classic:

Adam (wasn't groundbreaking necessarily, so not quite legendary)
Rocky (same as Adam, but less popular)
Aisha
Katherine
Delphine (first female leader and female white ranger)
Justin (he was ground-breaking being the first/only kid ranger)
T.J. (groundbreaking as the first black red ranger)
Ashley
Cassie
Kendrix
Karone
Ryan (first/only all-American ranger and pretty popular)
Jen
Eric
Wes
Tori (first female blue ranger)

I don't consider anyone from the Kalish era legendary or classic as they're to recent to have that status, but some potentials include: Sky, Bridge, Lily, and R.J.

By you're criteria, there are several that need to be added to the legendary list, and the most obvious is Kendrix. She has a sizable following, as many consider her to be one of the best pink rangers, and she was the first and only ranger to die. I would also say Eric, because as was stated earlier on the thread, Eric represented a huge change from the cookie-cutter goodie two-shoes that we had had as rangers previously, and he also has a sizable fan base.

Now, I realize that L and TF weren't in the first six seasons, but I feel that your criteria could reach to all seasons pre WF. However, we could just wait a couple years, and these guys will probably be considered legends.

Here are my PR legends:

Jason: Perhaps the greatest leader in PR history.

Trini: Smart, strong, kind, and beautiful; the ultimate female Ranger.

Tommy: Fought himself and Lord Zedd and won.

Rocky: Gave King Mondo a run for his money when he tried to prove himself to the others and really stepped up to the plate when he had to be a teacher for a day.

Kimberly: Landed a plane with only Alpha's instructions to guide her, didn't let her parents' divorce and her mom's move to France get in the way of her Ranger duties, fought a monster alone while she was sick and the others were lightyears away on Edenoi, and fought on even when her Power Coin was stolen and her life was in very real danger. In my opinion, most fans don't give Kimberly enough credit.

Tanya: Managed to live in Africa amongst strangers and dangerous wild animals after her parents mysteriously went missing, did what she could to help those dangerous wild animals when they became sick, agreed to go through a bizarre portal to live with strangers in a time and place not her own, skipped straight to adulthood without flinching, and accepted the responsibility of being a Power Ranger without hesitation.

Andros: Witnessed his sister get kidnapped at an early age and searched endlessly for her, had to put his closest friend and teammate into cryogenic suspension after he took a critical beating in a battle, had to fight alone and survive for an unknown period of time with no one to keep him company except his ship's A.I., had to confront the horrifying reality that his enemy was his sister, made the hard decision to leave his people defenseless in order to protect his teammates' people, watched helplessly as his sister was killed by one of her own deflected bolts of energy, and made the difficult decision to destroy Zordon's energy tube.

Kendrix: Sacrificed her life to save Cassie's morpher, protect Terra Venture, and prevent the Savage Sword from becoming too powerful.

Ryan: Kept fighting even though every good use of his Titanium Ranger powers brought him great pain and he knew that the cobra's curse was getting closer and closer to killing him. He brought himself to the limit of the cobra's curse and still managed to defeat the cobra monster unmorphed.

Jen: Witnessed her boyfriend get killed and still managed to pull herself together to pursue his killer through time to an unfamiliar past. She fell in love with her boyfriend's ancestor and rather than keep herself safe from Ransik's forces by staying in the future and wiping the memories of Wes from her mind, she chose to go back to the past and fight by Wes's side, even though she knew that she would almost certainly die.

Wes: Rather than turning tail and running away from danger like we would expect a rich kid to do, Wes took on the responsibility of protecting Silver Hills as a Power Ranger. He was immature about it at first, but he did a lot of growing up as he struggled to gain his dad's acceptance of his chosen lifestyle. In the end, he showed true bravery by sending his teammates and friends back to the future to protect them while he and his friend Eric tried to fight off an army that they were almost certain would destroy them.

Eric: An almost fearless man that led the surprisingly effective Silver Guardians and didn't hesitate to fight by Wes's side against an army, even though the odds were overwhelmingly against them winning.

Legendary Rangers to me are..

Jason
Trini
Kimberly
Billy
Zach
Tommy
Adam
Aisha
Rocky...

In other words the orignal rangers are and forever will be legendary in my book, simply because they were the first ranger team..

the only legendary ranger for me is tommy. well he was once an ANTI HERO, the evil green ranger. i think you forgot that. LOL

I think you're forgetting something too.

Tommy went straight from villain to hero, he was never a anti-hero, ever.

For a Tommy fanboy, you really should have checked that out yourself before praising him.

Anyway. A legend to me is someone that existed a long time ago, one of the first of their kind, who broke against the mainstream, distinguished himself amonst the rest, put his or herself on the line for others.

Technically, considering the year as 2009 now, none of the Rangers are truely legends yet since their actions haven't been in history long enough.

Consideing a point in time in the future, sometime around SPD, when a significant portion of time has passed, legends will include.

The original six: Tommy, Zack, Kimberly, Billy, Trini, Jason
The original 4 replacements: Rocky, Aisha, Adam, Katherine
Trey - Solo ally against the Alliance of Evil
Magna Defender (deceased) = (Debatably) solo ally against the Alliance of Evil
Ninjor - Creater of many powers and (debatably) zords, also assisted against Vile and Zedd
Sentinal Knight - Services towards OO Rangers and against Thrax's return
Lienbow - Risked his life to save his community
Zordon - Saved the universe
Andros - Helped Zordon save the universe
Phantom Ranger - Solo ally against the Alliance of Evil
Blue Centurion - Solo ally against the Alliance of Evil
Kendrix - Sacrificing her life to save the Pink Quasersaber
Karone - Example of the Queen of Darkness redeeming herself
Carter - Ventured to hell
Wes - Saved time
Cole - As much as it pains me to say it, he did stop Serpenterra

I nominate Carter for going to hell and back. I also nominate Merrik for overcoming his evil side.

I have seen the saban era. I grew up in the saban era. Tommy is WAY overrated

another thing, try watching PRSPD..
Presumably, they would have read of the other rangers as well... also, it's kinda lame that all him will be remembered is being a ranger, while the others will be remembered as rangers and other stuff done on their own right.

in PRDT.. the 500th episode of power rangers: LEGACY of POWER, tommy has a video diary of the history of the power rangers.

THAT makes him a legend ^^
That makes him a creepy stalker who will reveal the *secret* identitities of many generations of rangers without their consentment :)
Also, it's conveniently edited to make him look better "They help me destroy the sword of Ebilness" riiiiiight

I think Lilly's on her way. She was like the only ranger from JF who had NOTHING to learn. She's kinda like that girl in Social Sciences class who does all her work and is absolutely breathtakingly hot, yet she's not snobby.
