With some encouragement from a friend I've decided to share the second Sentai series I've been working on.

Here's the link to the discussion thread

http://www.henshintalk.com/showthread.php?t=1625

Before we go on, yes, Ronin Warriors did influence the creation of this series, but I drew the lion's share from the Samurai Warriors and Onimusha series. I plan to have the 1st Senryu up by next week. For now, I'll introduce the main players.

Nobunaga Oda, the infamous Demon King, returns to finish what he started 500 years ago, and lay claim to the entire world. Equipped with demonic power, some of his trusted vassals, and an army of demons, he is a force no earthly power can hope to stand up to. Enter five young people, descended from Nobunaga’s fiercest rivals. Combining their warrior spirit with Henshin technology, these five will bravely step up to battle Nobunaga and become:

Yoroi Sentai Sengokuranger! (Armor Task Force Warring States Ranger)

Mio Akechi (SengokuRed), 23, 11/27/85
Eldest of the group and leader. She is quiet for the most part but once you get to know her she’s a kind and gentle young woman who’s quite talkative. In battle however, Mio is an impassioned fighter and no-nonsense leader. She attends college during the day, and has a part-time job at a pizza parlor in Tokyo. Her hobbies are calligraphy, billiards, and just hanging with her friends. Nobunaga’s first targets were the descendants of Mitsuhide, his assassin, and he massacred all but Mio, who was at work at the time. Saddened, livid, and lonely, Mio swore her revenge on Nobunaga and leads the Sengokurangers as SengokuRed. Her element is Lightning and her Bushi is Courage.

Haru Sanada (SengokuBlue), 20, 1/5/88
A friend of Mio’s from school, Haru is shy and undemonstrative. He doesn’t have too many friends but cherishes those he does have. Contrary to his persona Haru loves meeting new people and making friends…he just doesn’t have the “outgoing-ness” to do it often. Like Mio, Haru attends college but his only extra curricular activity is surfing the net; he is also an avid gamer. He comes from a proud lineage, as the legacy of one of Japan’s finest samurai, Yukimura Sanada. His element is Fire and his Bushi is Honor.

Haruka Shimazu (SengokuYellow), 19, 12/5/89
Haruka is the youngest of the Sengokurangers, originally hailing from the southern island of Kyushu. She came to Tokyo to attend Tokyo University, where she met Mio and Haru. Unlike her friends, Haruka is anything but quiet, always outgoing, and never afraid to express herself. This is also a downside, as she has a tendency to exaggerate and run off at the mouth. The self-proclaimed “Youkyou no Otaku” (Otaku of Entertainment), Haruka loves J-Dramas, Anime, Video Games, and Tokusatsu. She is also an expert on past heroes, the Bakurenjas, Houka being her role model. Outside electronic entertainment, Haruka will pick up anything fun, particularly basketball. Haruka is a descendant of the fierce warlord Yoshihiro Shimazu and was one of the first to become Sengokurangers along with Mio and Haru. Despite her seemingly delicate physique, Haruka is one of the strongest Sengokurangers. Her element is Water and her Bushi is Honesty.

Miki Chosokabe (SengokuBlack), 21, 8/7/87
Miki is the heiress of a wealthy family from Shikoku. Growing up she traveled the world, seeing sights most people don’t get to see and doing things they only dream of. However, as Miki got older, she began to grow bored of the posh lifestyle and left Chosokabe Manor for Tokyo in search of excitement. Her first day in she was disappointed as she continues to be to this day. Miki retains a bored expression on her face throughout everyday life, letting out a yawn now and then. This makes Miki hard to talk to and gives her an uppity air. Before she got bored and left, Miki was a popular gravure idol. But now that she has disbanded, Miki’s career is uncertain. Because she gets bored easily, Miki doesn’t have a definitive hobby. She is an ancestor of Motochika Chosokabe and joins the Sengokurangers out of boredom at first. Her element is Darkness and her Bushi is Kindness.

Takeru “Marcus” Maeda (SengokuGreen), 20, 6/15/88
Unlike the others Takeru wasn’t born in Japan, but the world-famous New York City, where he’s lived all of his life so far. He adopted the nickname “Marcus” from teachers and friends mispronouncing his name. He returned to Tokyo on vacation and ended up getting more than he bargained for. Takeru’s years in New York are reflected in his loud, brash, and mischievous attitude. He is also an active womanizer and likes to dance to the beat of his own drum, causing more chaos about his team. Despite all this Takeru is a caring individual and loves his friends. Being bi-lingual, Takeru often mixes in English phrases with his Japanese, such as “Come on” and “Thank you”. Takeru has just finished his first semester of college at New York University, and is now on summer break. His hobbies are sports and hanging with his friends. He is an ancestor of Keiji Maeda and one of the last to join after Miki. His element is Earth and his Bushi is Loyalty.

Yoroi Arms
The Sengokuranger’s henshin devices. They are a two piece communicator style set, in which the Sengokurangers charge their warrior spirit into the key piece, then insert it into the container piece.

BladeEdge
Each Sengokuranger posses a short sword as their sidearm. They are modeled after the Kodachi which samurai carried with their Katana.

Personal Arms
All five Sengokurangers have their personal arms based on their skills or interests. All five weapons contain the crest of their ancestors at the base. They are summoned by building up the Sengokurangers' Warrior Spirit.

Juzumaru
Mio’s weapon is an ornate Katana. Mio can charge the blade with electricity at her will. She has been practicing Kendo since grade school, so this was an obvious choice for her.

Susanoo
Haru’s weapon is an ornate Jumonji-Yari (cross-bladed spear). By spinning it, Haru can generate a ring of fire.

Umibuzou
Haruka’s weapon is an ornate sledgehammer with a head shaped like a Taiko drum. By slamming it down on the ground, Haruka can send blasts of water from underground.

Uruwashii Shamisen
Miki’s weapon is an ornate Shamisen, a popular Japanese instrument. Simply by strumming it or playing it skillfully, Miki can send sound waves or set “sound bubbles” which she cues by strumming again. The more skillfully she plays, the deadlier her sound waves are. Miki has been playing the Shamisen since she was a little girl, so using this is like walking for her.

Ushi-Oni
Takeru’s weapon is an ornate spear with a forked end. By slamming the base down or swinging it, Takeru can pull up pillars of earth for defense or bat rocks.

JyuShou
The Sengokurangers’ larger forms are legendary beasts associated with the respective samurai descendant. They have a metallic appearance but are living creatures, and are piloted by way of the Sengokurangers’ Yoroi Arms.

LeoShou/Mio
WashiShou/Haru
SameShou/Haruka
OkamiShou/Miki
ToraShou/Takeru

SengokuJin
The combination of the JyuShou; naturally it resembles a Samurai. ToraShou forms the legs, LeoShou forms the torso, SameShou and OkamiShou form the arms, and WashiShou forms the helmet. The Sengokurangers come together in a Dairanger-style cockpit, their five Bushi in the circle behind them. It wields a sword and spear. The finisher is the Hyaku Ken Zan, or, Hundred Blade Slash.

Allies

Kaede Nankobo, 23, 10/3/85
Kaede is the mentor of the group and ancestor of the monk Tenkai Nankobo. She is also the elder sister to Mayumi Nankobo, shrine maiden ally of the Bakurenjas. Kaede created the Yoroi Arms using magic and technology borrowed from Busen. She is mature and wise beyond her years, but has trouble with the unexpected. She usually takes a pacifist stance, but when she battles she wields the Shakujo, a Japanese monk staff.

Villains

Nobunaga Oda, 0ver 500, looks in his late 20’s
Oda Nobunaga was one of the most infamous warlords of Japan during the mid-late 1500’s. Though he was a unifier, his ruthless ways earned him the nickname “Demon Lord”. Nobunaga brings his evil into the 21st Century, seeking to conquer not only Japan, but the entire world. He usually uses his Devil Blade, a soul-absorbing sword, but on occasion he will use a musket with a sawed off barrel. His army actually did use muskets in the battle of Nagashino, against the Takeda forces. The Oda hideout is the restored Honnoji Castle.

Lady Noh/Nohime, Over 500, looks in her late 20’s
Lady Noh is Nobunaga's somewhat loyal wife. Like her husband she is very cunning and ruthless. Noh prefers the sidelines to fighting but when she does fight she’s quite ruthless with her Wakizashi. She seems to have an obsessive interest in Takeshi and Haru, as she always chooses them as her target over the other Sengokurangers. Either Nobunaga hasn’t noticed this yet or doesn’t care, most likely the latter.

Ranmaru Mori, Over 500, looks in his late teens
Ranmaru is Nobunaga’s most trusted vassal and second in command. Ranmaru’s striking beauty often confuses people into thinking he is a girl, but he is indeed a boy, as Takeru would later find out. He loyally serves Lord Nobunaga without question or haste, and his Nodachi only serves as proof of this.

Hideyoshi Toyotomi, Over 500, looks in his late 20’s
Another of Nobunaga’s trusted vassals, though not the most attractive. Nobunaga often calls him names like “Monkey” and “Rat”. Nevertheless, Hideyoshi is a dangerously smart and cunning individual who creates the Genma and sometimes accessory weapons for them. His weapon of choice is the Sentetsu-Kon, a three-sectioned staff.

Genma Lords
Nobunaga’s demonic generals created by Hideyoshi by combining animal, plant, machine, even human elements with Nobunaga’s demonic energy. They vary in size and shape.

Osore
Nobunaga’s dead soldiers turned demons. They aren’t very smart but they more than make up for this with their skill and strength in numbers. Their weapon of choice is the standard Katana. Their name translates to horror.

Sengoku Jidai, literally the Warring States Period, known to westerners as Feudal Japan. This was a time of war, social upheaval, and chaos, a time when great warriors were bred and fierce ones revered. Perhaps the most famous of these was the Demon King Nobunaga Oda, who conquered much of the land with his mighty army. However, it wasn’t the blade of an adversary that quelled Nobunaga, death came to him by the blade of his trusted vassal, Mitsuhide Akechi at the temple/castle of Honnoji. This would be the last anyone on earth heard of the Demon King, but in the depths of Hell Nobunaga was making a deal with DaiMaOu. The agreement was that DaiMaOu grant Nobunaga his resurrection and give him enough power so that he may finish his revenge. The cost was Nobunaga’s soul, which he had no need for anyway. The deal was done, but for Nobunaga to be genuinely powerful enough to conquer earth, he had to build his power over the course of 500 years.

Bringing us to 2009.

12:00 PM, Tokyo, the season is summer, a time of festivals and happiness in the Land of the Rising Sun. Thanks to the efforts of the Kenpo Sentai Bakurenja, this great city had finally rebuilt itself and with the Yamata threat extinguished, the people can celebrate their lives without fear, holding celebratory shrines in honor of their heroes. Then comes a small, harmless rumble, as if by an earthquake. The people, believing such, mark it off as an earthquake and continue on. Then comes the second, this one much more violent, as it knocks buildings over. The pets cry ominously as the skies blacken, the city's electricity going out in an instant. Then, as if by omen, a huge black tide of energy swirls in the middle of the city, sucking in any unlucky people and buildings. The reason for this becomes clear when a giant, demonic castle peers out of the ground until it is in full view. One look sends the citizens running, and with good reason, for out of the castle charges a group of demonic horsemen, led by a man in chrome Samurai armor, his crimson cape furling with the wind. Seeing this man’s goatee/beard combination would remind a westerner of the Devil, but this man isn’t just any devil…

This is Nobunaga Oda, the Demon King, and he has returned to wreak his vengeance!
