The Most Embarassing PR Moments countdown

Ok, I've compiled a list of my 'favourite' embarassing moments from PR history, which I was gonna post in a thread and invite everyone to add their own.

Instead I though, why not take a vote...

I don't like to make a big deal about the downside of something I love, but Rangers fandom, more than most, comes with a good deal of baggage, and I don't just mean occassional continuity errors. I think most of us have at least a couple of moments from Power Rangers history that make us cringe.

So I thought that everyone who wants to add theirs, and it can be characters, episodes, storylines, sets, costumes, props, dialogue, music, editing, anything at all- could post them in this thread and after, say two weeks, I'll do a final run-down of the top 30 (seemed like a decent number) on or around the 4th of April.

If member response is low or anyone has any objection then I'll just post my original list for comments as planned before. I've got all the stuff you'd expect; Justin, the Deer Song, Alpha's Magical Christmas, etc, plus a few that always bugged me, like Disney reusing the same actors, the crappy American Green Ranger suit they had JDF wear back in the day, and so on.

Most embarassing you say? The debut of Dax. I don't mind comic relief characters, as long as they have depth. Dax's character is about as deep as the kiddy pool.

- When Lord Zedd reversed time on Earth, the rangers lost their powers, their Wrist Communicators, and their memories of being Power Rangers.

- When Master Vile reversed time on Earth, the rangers kept their Power Coins, their Wrist Communicators, and their memories of being Power Rangers.

- In both cases, Rocky, Adam, and Aisha stayed put in Angel Grove while Jason, Zack, and Trini were nowhere to be found.

Also the thinly veiled 3-part pilot for Masked Rider, disguised as a Power Rangers episode.

I have to agree, those episodes were just a huge dissapointment and embarassment to the show.

Zordon,..his character had so much potential..but it was always brushed aside...never getting fully explained except in the minds of fans and fanfic writers...which to tell you the truth most disney episodes seem to be writen by bad fan fic writers...case in point although we were glad to have tommy back, that's usualy the first thing fanfic writers do is bring Tommy in...and don't have any idea what they're doing with the story...of course all this is my opinion take it or leave it ;)

I going with geography in OO.The Hartford mansion is in california,yet every time the sonic streaker takes off Mt. Fuji is in the background.When they go to florida to get to get a jewel,their are mountains in the back ground,yet their no mountains in florida.Theirs barely hills in florida.

And on that note, I'd like to add that the charming version of Stonehenge from OaR is somewhat lacking in the accuracy department.

The PR:Turbo episode with the 'Shadow Rangers'. It was horrible on so many levels. Honourable mention goes to the episode with the giant pizza oven.

If PR resists until 2009 as a live action series, we'll see the most horrible fleet of zords that we have already seen. Unfortunately. :(

But until then, the megazords that I didn't really enjoyed were the Zeo Megazord, the Galaxy Megazord and the Omega Megazord. The first two were too "fat"/bulky, the third one had a strange/ugly face/body.

I can tell you what the two lamest zord concepts are: an entire zoo of weaker zords in Wild Force and those stupid zord balls in Ninja Storm.

another "embarassing" moment, i found, was when watchign the first episode where Adam/Aisha/Rocky were introduced, Tommy was wearing Green instead of white in order to match up with the old command center footage with Jason Trini and Zack, since the actors were already gone by that point..

That's just another reason for me to hate the zord balls. :mad:

The Power Sphere weapons weren't zords.

I know that. They were balls that were utilized by the zords. Hence, I refer to them as zord balls. I'd do the same thing if I had watched very little of Zeo by referring to the Warrior Wheel as "that zord wheel thing." I think my least favorite zord ball was that one that contained a matador cape. In my opinion, arsenals don't get much dumber than that. :rolleyes:

Yeah, one of the most satisfying aspects of putting this list together is seeing how many crappy elements of the series are of Japanese design, Power Sphere weapons included: I am soooo sick of snobby Sentai fans going on and on about how much more sophisticated SS is over PR.

so i was watching the Turbo episode where Kat/Tommy/Adam/Tanya give there powers to TJ/Cassie/Carlos/Ashley, and i found it funny that when Tanya/Adam/Justin are fighting the monster in the forest, they are running and they morph.. instead of doing an instant morph (like a lot of the series do when the rangers are running) they do the whole morphin scene.. so they just like stopped in the middle of running to morph

LOL sooooo true. I LOVE seeing Tanya roll her eyes... That's pretty much the reaction of ANYONE who watches Turbo and sees Justin hahahaha.

Not sure if being a useless Zord counts as embarrassing, but Justin poping out of Mountain Blaster sure was. I remember Tommy having sort of pissed off look on his face when Justin showed up, although Its been I awhile since I've seen the scene so I might be wrong.

um.. i was watching some old episodes today, and i think this kind of qualifies, the rangers were in the command center and lord zedd was able to look in and see/hear everything they were talking about.. kind of stupid to have a secret base if ur enemies can look inside and see what ur doing

I notice a lot of people mentioned Justin as an embarassing PR moment, but I have to say in my case that it was the most disappointing, because I remember looking forward to seeing Rocky join the team. Seeing Justin made me feel a little weird inside.

The most embarassing PR moment for myself was the finale of "Power Rangers In Space" (a.k.a. "Countdown to Destruction: Part 2"), when Rita and Zedd suddenly became yuppie-ish human beings. Divatox I could understand for some strange reason. But Rita and Zedd? That was just downright uncomfortable to watch.
