The moon hung high in the sky ascending and showering the sleeping Earth in its beautiful glow. The light draped across the forest scene with its lunar luminescence. Down along an old trodden forest trail, down the gnarling twisted path is a warm old log craftsman cabin. Inside an old man just begins to sit, resting his tired bones for the night, in a large easy chair. The old man stares around the room, his eyes moving from familiar photographs from when he was a child but also of pictures of his history as he grew and married, became a father and his children's lives as they grew and became parents themselves. His eyes came to rest on the mantle of his fireplace where a strange looking device sat; a gem inset in the device sparkled and pulsated. The man eyes began to turn down, saddened by some thought in his head from the sight of the fairy light. His eyes turned to two photographs that sat next to his chair. This was the newest in the arrangement of pictures, his grandchildren; it was of a girl about 8 years of age and of a boy that looked about 6.
His eyes looked upward as the boy runs past him, he is playing and talking to himself as he moves about the cabin. He is so full of energy, even at this very late hour. He is laughing, skipping and having as much fun as one could when stuck indoors for the night. Then the man leans forward in the chair, grasping the fire poker, he pokes at the still embers, awakening flares of the dying flame. He sets the poker down and turns to see the boy staring wide-eyed at him as he clears his throat and says in a hoarse but calming tone.
"Alex... Alexander, please come here and let your grandfather tell you a Fairies tale. This, a legend past down from generation to generation. The stories that our ancestors wish for you to now know." The boy walks over towards his grandfather and sits next to the chair cross-legged, where he could best hear the story.
"Grandpa, our ancestors?" asks Alex.
As the old man leans back in his chair he let's out a long hard sigh. His eyes seem to scan an imaginary bookshelf of many stories that he could tell, but he knew almost instantly which one he would tell.
"Well, I will tell you of an ancient story, a legend, many seasons ago, when the World was young and everything still held its magic. When trees whispered on the wind and brooks laughed as they joined with their family, the river as they rolled through the forests. When the Earth was still a child nestled in her Mother the Heaven's warm embrace. A time when man was just beginning to stretch his legs and run as the elk run, swim as the mighty Orca swim. He was put to a series of tests, for the Great Spirit that guides us all places obstacles for us to overcome and better ourselves. But this test would not only test man physically, it would test him spiritually as well.
"The story I am about to tell you is of a great battle, that moved the heavens above and caused the Earth to tremble. This was a battle that was being waged between two, now I want you to know that War, Battle, Fighting is never away to deal with any argument or differences you have. Alright." Alex nodded his head as he was completely captivated by his grandfather’s words. "The Daemon were sent by the Great Spirit to guide man, to an Age of Prosperity and Enlightenment, to show us how to become all that the Great Spirit had intended us to be.
"But the Daemon, they stopped believing that the Great Spirit had sent them, they started believing they were the Great Spirit. All those that thought different were there swore enemy, especially for Men, who they had been sent to guide. Imprisonment, man was sent on an exodus from what we were supposed to be and made into the Daemon's servants, stripped of any form of creativity. We built shrines to our Masters, monoliths carved out of stone. We wrote stories of their trials and triumphs. For mankind we were in the thralls of the Daemon's hungry thirst, which grew more and more every passing year. Until, nothing satisfied our master's, no drink could quench their thirst, no meat could fill their bellies, no amount of companionship could ease their restless dreams of more! It was said, that was when they began to drink manna. Manna is the energy that surrounds us, it fills us and creates life from nothing, giving birth to the stars in our sky and the fish that swim in the oceans. The Daemon through Manna, finally found the one thing in our world that could begin to quench their insatiable thirst. Finding it inside all living creatures, in the plants, draining the very life from our beautiful world.
"But as the Earth cried. Some stood hearing her call rising up to protect their home. There were those that still guarded the old sacred ways of mystic magicks, the ways and teachings of the Great Spirits. The ones that remained here on Earth (the spirits), that did not fear the Daemon, took their place as man's teachers. Those that learned what the spirits taught, they garnered the name of Shaman and they are our ancestors.
"Know now that the Daemon did not at all like the idea of man becoming their rival. This cruel vile group, in fear of the unknown, began to harm everyone that did not seem to follow or agree with them. The Daemon's thirst for destruction was growing even more and for many of them it was all for there own personal glory. But perhaps the reason they feared man so, was in fact because we looked so much alike." Alex's head cocked to the left slightly.
"Grandpa? What do mean? They looked like... like me?" Alex asked.
"They did look just like you or me. But a true Daemon you can tell." as Daniel again leans forward, he brings his hand up and points at his own eyes. "It is inside the eyes, some believe that they are the windows to our souls. Well, a Daemon's eyes are hollow of all that makes us human. Their eyes are void of anything reminiscent of a soul. All they thirst for is life manna, in whatever shape or form they can find it." Then, the house began to shake as the lights flicked on and off. Alex jumped into his grandfather's arms.
"Grandpa, what's going on?" as Daniel stood with Alex by his side he walked without fear to the front door. He looked out a moment before opening the door, as they stepped out, an explosion erupted in the sky. 12 brilliant bolts of lightning scattered across all the heavens. Daniel's face was full of grimace as his eyes stayed transfixed on one as it spider-webbed, and headed right towards them! Alex watched his grandfather leave his side and he raised his arms up towards the sky.
"I know this is for his own good, but his fate has already been decided for him!" Alex noticed the family's cat at his grandfather's feet. The lightning bolt began to spiral, its speed increased. The boy noticed a puck shaped device in his grandfather's hand. "I said his fate has been decided!" as an invisible shield without warning appeared around the entire house. The bolt ricocheted off of the shield and rejoined the sky as it arched to the horizon. Alex raced to his grandfather's side as he fell to his knee; completely drained, he gasped for breath as the boy reached for him. The man's hands pushed the boy back.
"Alex, remember that from this day forth, you've witnessed the 12 celestial rays of light... That is the first and only warning that they are coming. 6,000 year's rest will end; I'm so sorry Alex... But for the future of humanity you must become a Shaman for Earth and your training begins today.” said Daniel as he began to stand. He looked down at this grandson and placed the puck shaped device in his youthfully naive hands, both continued to watch the skies as it continued it's ominous dance throughout the heavens.

Divination 01: Awakening.
[12 years later. October 20, 2004.] The year is now 2004, the winds of change have blown and time has inevitably rolled on. Just a few miles north on the Washington coast sits Silent Meadows, a small town near with a beautiful view of the Pacific ocean and just a few minutes north of that. A group of teen thrill seekers are hiking up the mountain trails looking for a good time. The four teens walk up the mountainous slope as the afternoon sun wistfully shines through the picturesque forest scenery.
"Hey guys." says Derek Harris, the current MVP for the Ocean-view Seagulls. "Look, there's the mouth of a cave."
"Oh, man. Der, I think we should head back. This may be a bear's cave?" says Brad Harris, Derek's younger cousin. He nervously adjusts his glasses. Two girls complete the troupe of teens. These two being Maya Wood and Lex Ergovich, both looked bored as Lex swats at some bug that swarm around her head and Maya adjusts her hair, going over her makeup again. Derek pulled Brad down into a headlock.
"Look dweeb, I promised Aunt Kate that I'd let you hang with me. So shut up and quit bitching. You are making me look so un-cool in front of Maya." as he let Brad go, who fell and rolled down the slope a little. "You guys up for a little exploring?" asked Derek. The girls shrugged as Brad just looked like he was going to wet himself.
They neared the mouth of the cave, which looked like an ancient demon, frozen and forever cast in stone. It was widely thought that this area was unlucky, for many local disappearances had occurred over the last couple decades. The city people think it is like the Bermuda Triangle of the North-Western Unites States. Brad scurries up to where his cousin stands and readjusts his glasses
"Hey Derek? Are... are we planning on going in there?" Maya walks up behind Brad and pokes him in the side, he jumps and the two girls share a laugh as they continue to walk towards the mouth of the cave.
"Yeah, I was thinking about,” said Derek. Just then the cave began to howl like a wild man. "I mean, if you guys aren't too scared?" Derek looks over to the girls. They all became a little frightened by the sound.
"Oh, come on Maya, let’s go inside. Let these two be scared out here." Maya nods her head in compliance and looks back at the other boy.
"Man, Brad when are you not scared, you wimp! It's jus a wittle cave." Brad pushes his glasses up and begins to sulk as he watches the girls walk up to the caves mouth.
"I'm not afraid of a cave, but I am afraid of bear or cougar, bat and bat guano, getting lock-jaw, spinal paralysis..." Derek placed his hand quickly over his cousin's mouth. Derek glared up at Brad and shoved him to the ground.
"Come on ladies. Let's." As Derek stepped forth the ground gave way. Sending the cocky teen into the earth.
"Derek!" as the three other as they gather around the hole that had suddenly opened up in the earth. Coming forth from the dark hole was a faint voice calling up to them.
"Hey, I'm okay... but I've seemed to have fallen into some kind of chamber?"
*** *** ***
It was very lucky for the teens that Brad was such a worrywart. In the backpack he dragged along, as a rope and the three had climbed down. Derek had already found a flashlight and the three of them began to explore their find. They were indeed inside a much larger room or at the least a corridor. The walls all around were detailed with perfect hieroglyphic drawings. Brad turned suddenly; he could have sworn he just saw something move. He turned but no one else was facing the same direction. He nervously ran down the corridor to catch up with the others who were now coming to a dead end. Decorated with many ornate and obscure looking drawings, the pictures depicted a group of humans sharing a handshake with some rather odd looking creature. As the scene continues, the picture shows the group and the humans cultivating untold amounts of land; growing crops, harvesting the crops for what look like years. About a quarter of the way down the pictures on the wall turn violent, they now depict attacking the same humans they were helping earlier.
This shows the true nature of the creatures. The group of teens wander aimlessly around the dead, all the pictures lead to a final mural. The pictures had changed yet again, now showing the gathering of mighty beasts. They are gathered around some kind of seal, dead center in the wall. They are protecting whatever is inside or they protect the outside from whatever is inside. Whatever it was, the pictures of the lower half of the mural had long since withered away with time.
Brad takes a step closer; he begins to inspect the picture. He removed his glasses and gazes at an inscription that borders the edges of the picture. "Wow, hey you guys! This is really interesting? These... These markings, they look like they could possibly be... possibly Lemurian?" he begins to laugh. "I mean, theoretically the Lemuria are not even supposed to have existed! But why? Why would glyphs like these be so far north of here?" Maya walks up to the wall and begins to inspect the marking with Brad.
"Really? Is that true?" said Maya, as she quickly slaps Brad upside the back of his head knocking him over. Derek walks over and snickers as he helps Brad up.
"Maya, what the hell is wrong with you!" said Brad. He brushed himself off as he adjusts his backpack.
"Yeah Maya, you know Bradley here gets all excited about old worthless crap!" yells Derek as he shoves Brad. Lex walks up behind Derek, she places her hands around his waist as she makes them both sway.
Lex then says, "Come on! Let's find a dark corner." Brad pushes up his glasses and replies.
"These aren't paintings their carvings." Maya shoves Brad and as he falls back, his elbow hits the wall. A piece of it begins to sink into the wall with a series of clanks and thuds. The wall begins to move as it collapses the corridor, fills with dust. After the four stop coughing and yelling at poor Bradley, they notice the wall has now become a doorway that is leading into another room.
The four teens enter, with Derek and the flashlight in the lead. The dark room had nothing that would truly make it any different than the previous rooms other than a monolith that sat in the center of the pentagonal room. All of a sudden eight torches mysteriously begin to light themselves. The girls let out a yelp as they continue to walk in. Brad stands still, just in the entryway, weary and ready to run at a moments notice. Derek turns off the flashlight as they begin to explore the room. The monolith that sits in the middle of the room was actually a statue, a multi-faced statue. The creatures depicted in it are horrifyingly deformed, there faces twisted with pain and agony. Strange human-like face riddles the statue and along it's base the same kinds of markings as the outer walls. There seemed to be talismans hanging around the statue.
The three continue to explore the rest of the room, walking around admiring the details on the walls around the center statue. The pictures inside of the room show scenes very akin to other great genocidal massacre in recent history, all those depicted look ancient humans, all dying. To Lex, these images began to make her stomach (turn as she was a very imaginative person). What seemed like millions of voices, all began to scream at once. Lex trips over her own feet and falls into the statue. The other two laugh as Brad jumps to help, he stopped himself and backs up embracing the entryway.
"Lex you okay?" said Derek as he helped her up.
"I think we should leave..." said Lex.
"Why?" asked Maya. Lex suddenly bites her tongue. She knew better than to admit her fears to two of the most popular kids in school. Yeah, they might seem like her friends now, but they'd never believe her and more so, her high-school career would be dead.
"I... I think we should leave too?" finally piped Brad.
"Shut up!" said Derek. "Are you okay Lex?" as he lifts her arm, it is beginning to bleed. "You brought bandages right numb-nuts?" Brad entered the room and knelt down to dig in his backpack, pulling out bandages, a second later. Derek snaps it away from his cousin and tenderly places it over Lex's cut.
"You have to sanitize It." says Brad as Derek kicks him. Brad mumbles to himself as he rubs his arm. Derek turned and walked up to the statue.
"Get a look at this crazy thing." as he kneels down and runs his hand along one of the faces. "Wow, look at all these.... markings!" Derek says sarcastically. Brad rolls his eyes and zips up his pack, walks up to the center statue and has to push up his glasses again as he stares at the top of the statue. Feeling like he should explain but again holds his tongue. Maya snottily, gallivants around the room, looking at this and that.
"Hey Lex!" says Maya as she walks over and begins to tugs at Lex's shirt.
"Damn statue! You know I didn't even want to come." said Lex as she rubs her arm. Maya kneels down and punches Lex in the arm.
"Then why are you here... You think I'm stupid. I know about you and Derek. You think you are so sly huh?" as she punches her in the arm again.
"Ow!" as Lex pushes Maya away. "I would never!" as Derek looks over.
"What do you mean? You told me that you liked me!" said Derek. Maya stands up and pushes Derek.
"You jerk! You two timing asshole!" as she begins beating on Derek's chest. Brad stands and watches the three begin to fight.
"And you, you were probably in on everything, weren't you. You little twerp!" as Maya shoves Brad back, he falls tumbling over the statue.
"What the hell is wrong with you!" said Derek as he runs to his cousin's side. "Brad... Brad are you alright?" said Derek as he tries to picks Brad up.
"Fine, whatever. You can all kiss my ass I'm getting the hell outta' here." As Maya turns to leave, Lex reaches for he, Maya glares at her then at Derek, lastly to Brad.
"Chenda..." suddenly all four turn in the furthest corner of the room now stands a masculine silhouette, it steps forward into the light. A tattered crimson cloak wrapped around its shoulders. "Chenda kit'ale? Er, Gram idore?" said the figure. Derek quickly picks up his cousin and the four begin to quickly move to the doorway. Then they all turn when Maya screams. Something else was at the door; this one bears a mask over its face.
"Zuba, tentai gwrurstaski. Chenda fo kin'chenda?" as this one reached out and grabbed at Maya, who again screamed and ran behind Lex.
"What do you want? We're... we're sorry if this was your house or whatever?" announced Derek, he whispered to Brad, "Are these Lemurians?" Brad shrugged his shoulders. The four teens eyes are now drawn to another figure now sitting atop the statue, a wiry looking man. Very groggily, the man steps down off of the statue and rubs his eyes with the palm of his skeletal hand. This man looks to be deep in thought, and then he speaks through a voice that seemed a mimic of Derek's
"In what year might this be?" as the man seems to sniff the air. The four looked surprised as they carefully are trying to keep their eyes on them, as they stand there in silence. Again, the frail framed man impatiently asks his question. "What be the year?" Derek straightens up and replies.
"It's... it's 2004. I said we are sorry for disturbing you all... and we'd really like to get out of here." the one blocking the doorway and the one standing by the pedestal look to the cloaked one. He steps forward and looks Derek directly in the eyes. "Guttirm vi leibrae ken cireen, Rime daso?" the frail man bows, a malicious smile creeps across his boney face. As fast as lightning he grabs Derek by the shoulders and displaying unforeseen strength, he lifts him up impaling him onto the statue.
The cloaked man nods again and the masked woman grabs Maya and twists her head around. "Eyuleeri Kierka tegula." Lex grabs Brad by his backpack and yanks him with her as they run past the masked woman and out of the door. Down the corridor they flee, Lex half crying as Brad looked to be so shocked to even be able to comprehend everything yet. They reach the rope, Lex hastily begins to climb with Brad following close behind her. They can hear malicious cackling behind them.
When Lex reaches the top she grabs Brad's arm and pulls him up. They begin to run down the mountainous slope. They reach the bottom of the slope and bolt into the woodland. They make it back to the car they all came in and Lex fumbles with the keys which all seemed so much alike right at the moment. "Lex? I'm sorry..." said Brad. Lex looks up and sees the trickle of blood running from the corner of Brad's mouth.
"What?" said Lex as Brad's is suddenly torn from the ground and pulled back into the surrounding woodland. He helplessly gropes at the ground and swats the air, all the while keeping his eyes locked with Lex's. "Brad!" as she begins to run to him, then the wiry man comes hobbling out of the woods, followed by the masked woman and the cloaked man. She spins her keys on her fingers and rushes at the wiry man, the masked woman moves and in blinding speed removes both of Lex's hands. "ARRGH!" as Lex screams falling to her knees. She looks up as the wiry man stands before her. He kneels down and embraces the girl.
"Do not curse us, child born of man's molding... For we all share a common begetting, though they are a scornful, unforgiving progenitor... Who only wishes to hinder our kind... adoring yours... such simple kind of beauty. So curse your mold, curse your human lineage and wish you could have been born Daemon." with lightning quick reflexes the man thrusts his arm into her, it bursts out the other end, he pulls his arm out with greater speed and holds her twitching heart. Lex's body goes into her finale. Her body shaking and jerking as the pool of blood grows across the asphalt. The man takes a moment to admire the heart as he turns and presents it to the cloaked figure that looks very pleased. He turns and the three of them begin to walk back into the forest.

[Out somewhere in the Pacific Ocean just off the Washington coast.] Floating in his custom fishing boat Daniel Wafian, watches the mighty waves churn the oceans about. A tiny explosion of life appears as something slowly appears near the boat. Daniel calmly stands and looks over as the tops of large killer whales as they skim the bottom of his boat. A tiny ivory silhouette is swimming along with the Orca the silhouette suddenly stops and begins to surface. As it reaches the air it's form is not that of a whale but of a human. It bursts to the top and sucks in a lungful of air. Daniel leans over, "How are you?" the teen shakes his head and looks up, it is the same boy from 12 years ago, now he is all grown up. A handsome man of 18 years, he smiles and gives his grandfather a thumb's up.
After he climbs in, dries off and changes into some dryer clothing they sit looking out onto the ocean. He looks perplexed with some urgent thoughts. Daniel walks up carrying two mugs of hot liquid. "What's on your mind, Alex?" said Daniel as he hands his grandson the mug of hot liquid nourishment.
"The Orca... They are growing restless. Something’s happened on the mainland they say, the feeling of the ocean has changed too." Daniel had already been feeling the change on the air. But for Alex to catch on while he was deep in training was a welcomed surprise to him, this means his perception had grown tremendously. Daniel also thought that maybe it was time. He stood up and walked below coming up moments later holding a satchel.
"Alex, I think it's about time I give you this." as he hands him the package. Alex sets his mug down and cradles it gently, unwrapping it tenderly; he lifts the end sliding the contents out. The puck shaped device falls into his hand. He examines it a moment then looks up to his grandfather.
"But..." said Alex. Daniel shook his head and waved away his grandson's attempt to refuse it.
"The Totem-dial is your tool now, besides, if you try to argue my need for it... I already have my own." as he pulls it out from his back pocket. Alex notices it looks different than his own. A jewel inset in its center, his had none, just an empty node.
"This Alex, this is your destiny... Your next task is to find your spirit."

It's the middle of the night as a harvest moon rises up into the sky. A small, impish man waltzes through the decadent waste of trash as the garbage shimmers in the moonlight. The small man runs his hands over a broken down car. "Sorry am I, for you could have been so much more. If you could have been left in the Earth, much more, so much more. I will make all those that used you without permission to see the Great Spirit." as he knelt down and opened a satchel that hung at his side. He dug through its contents and pulled out a small two-inch stone. As he blows his putrid breathe over it, it begins to open up revealing it true shape to something that resembles a pill bug. It screeches as the little man drops it to the ground. It begins to vibrate and turn a red-hot color.
The sky begins to gather clouds as lightning begins to streak across the sky. Suddenly, lightning strikes the ground. The bug starts to shake even greater as it begins to levitate hovering a few feet up it continued to vibrate in the air sending wave after wave of energy our of it's body, suddenly two run-down cars begin to shake as the all of a sudden are thrown up into the air and start to revolve very slowly around the bug. More and more things lift off of the ground joining the cars in their dance, then the cars disappear, and the bug sudden grew about 3 inches around. More and more object jumped up and followed the many others already dancing in chaos in the air.
The imp now sat atop a telephone post as the rain final broke through the cloud and begins to drench the landscape in an autumn shower as he snickers to himself before vanishing in a small explosion of smoke.
[October 19, 2004. 9:45 AM, Downtown, Silent Meadows.]
Alex walks down the sidewalk of a street he hadn't seen in a very long time. Silent Meadows, a town of a little more than 28,000 people it was quiet for the most part and a more than likely place to find good fish. The smell of the sea air was a welcomed aspect to this budding city. He caught a whiff of something good as he turned the corner and says a bakery his family used to go to when he was so much younger. He walked in as a tiny bell announced his arrival a grizzly man walked out from behind a curtain. "Top of the mornin'! Are you new in town?" asked the baker. Alex shook his head.
"Um, no... My grandparents have both lived here forever and my parents were raised here. Do you know the Croft's?" the baker immediately recognized the name nodding his head thoughtfully.
"An how might you be related to them? If you don't mind me asking." Alex shook his head and smiled at the man.
"I'm Thomas and Kristina's son." the man seemed surprised by his statement.
"Really? I always thought they only had the one... Hmm, learn something everyday, don't we? And your name is?" as Alex walked up to the man and they briefly exchanged handshakes.
"Alexander... I was sent away for... Schooling. But I graduated last spring and I got my things in order to come back for a visit. And if you wouldn't mind can I have your name, Sir." the man laughed at Alex.
"Well you certainly are a polite boy aren't yaw. Name's Thaddeus Geranewt Jacobson... Don't suppose you know my nephew Lyle? He dated the Croft girl a few years back. Your sister isn't Cathy is she?" Alex nodded his head. "Well, I'll be! We were almost family, up until his injury." just then, the doors opened and a wave of morning goers rushed in. The baker suddenly forgot his train of thinking as he began to attend to customers. Alex abruptly left; feeling a little let down, he had wanted to buy something to eat. He shrugs it off as he starts walking back down the sidewalk, but a thought lingered, the man said his injury? So he decided to take a detour in his reminiscing to stop at the local library. He walked up to the main desk and an elderly man met him.
"What can I help you find?" said the old man in a whisper of a voice.
"I wanted to know if you have any newspaper articles or clippings on a high-school student that was recently injured?" the man almost immediately knew what he was speaking of.
"You mean the Jacobson's boy... their youngest Lyle. Oh, coarse we keep a record of all that sort of things. You didn't know the Erogvich girl too did you?" Alex confused shakes his head. "Bad business there too. Four kids were hiking a few weeks back up at the reserve and they were murdered. The detective on the case vanished with at lease a third of the police. It's been blocked off and they even called in some specialist from the FBI." as he talked he lead Alex to the records room, he politely excused himself and closed the door behind him.
Alex began to scan through the large reservoir of old newspaper clippings and articles. Coming across the article he wanted right away, which stuck him as a bit odd, but he didn't think twice as he placed it in the old viewing device. "October 26th 2003. Hometown hero attacked!" the article read in bold print. Alex began to read further. "Local, Lyle Jacobson, then 18, just won the state championship big win over Portland, was walking out to his car and was viciously attacked after the game by two angry Portland fans. He was left for dead, as coach Randal Jacobson found the athlete with a six-inch knife lodged into the players back. Paramedics arrived finding the boy unresponsive, resuscitation was administered and he was thankfully revived. Doctors say, he was lucky to be alive, but really can one think luck has anything to do with it. Lyle Jacobson slipped into a coma while in transit to the hospital and now is only alive because of life support. We will all be praying for his safe recovery and that he will someday soon come out of his coma." just then the light on the projector flickered, then the building began to violently shake. Alex then suddenly felt a ripple through the energy of the realm. (Alex is attuned to our dimension, other wise known as The Realm.)
He runs outside and walking in broad daylight was a strange sight. A creature, human in mien it's body made up comprised completely out of compacted garbage. His eyes made up of shards of glass and his mouth sharpened. People ran passed Alex, as the thing turned, its hand extended and latched itself onto a car, in mere seconds the vehicle was gone. Compacted and added to the creatures body. Alex pulled out his Totem-dial and turned it until it came over the symbol of a man, as he flexed his arms. *("I don't know what's going to happen. But I have to do something.")* As Alex motions his hands spinning them in a clockwise fashion through the air, he strikes a pose, the hand with the dial was in his left hand, which is across his abdomen resting by his hip. Alex's right hand moves up and across his chest, pointing to the left pointing towards the sky. "Totem..."
Alex is suddenly tackled to the ground. He barely had time to recognize the baker he had met only recently. "What are you doing boy! You got to get out of here!" as the man picks himself and Alex up. They begin to run as Mr. Jacobson is suddenly thrown back. Alex turns to see the most horrified look on his face as he becomes compacted and assimilated into the creature’s body. Similar to a juicing machine, all the excess fluid comes pouring out of a mouth like slit on it abdomen, forming a large pool of blood on the asphalt.
"Mr. Jacobson!!!" screams Alex as he runs forward, grabbing a broken piece of piping. The creature does not react as Alex stabs it. More blood flows out of the cut as the creature stares at the pipe then turns and looks at Alex with its emotionless eyes. Simply pushing him away it sends Alex flying back he hits a parked car and falls to the ground, the wind knocked out of him; he faintly hears the hollow pipe ring as it hits the ground. It is almost drowned out by his own heartbeat, which pounds in his ears. He eyes begin to fill with a bright light.
*** *** ***
*"What is it you seek?"* Called a voice within the bright light. Alex floats dumbfounded in the vast, blinding light. *"Is it the power to protect that you seek?"* Alex now stood before a gigantic iron door that was chained many times over and locked several times over.
"Yes, I want power... Power to protect those that cannot protect themselves!" he is struck by a wave; this wave fills him the images of all those that have fought before him, going all the way back to a continent that drifts above the ocean. "Lemuria." as a gigantic whale comes over the island; this whale dwarfs the island in its enormous shadow. Alex floats suspended above the island. The whale comes closer, touching the tip of its muzzle to Alex's body, which was, but a speck of dust.
*"Call on I, who am all that encompasses the world disk. Okaenos is what you may know me as, thou who hast beseeched the favor of him, the All, the Everything. I am your Warrior, the one at your right, for now and always. I ask for a contract of loyalty. I will grant you the power to protect those to weak to protect themselves, in exchange for this power you much give your vow, a binding word that you will carry on your best to protect those you've now sworn to.'* Alex doesn't put a second thought to it.
"Yes, I will do whatever it takes. I will use your power to help all those that I can. I will do as you say." He is again shrouded in a bright light.
*** *** ***
Awakening on the asphalt, no time had passed as Alex looks at his Totem-dial to see a black spherical crystal in the middle of his dial. He slowly rises as the dial begins to glow a faint purple light. Alex also without even thinking began to talk, "The Heavens call to me! The Earth calls to me! All Humanity calls to me! They call on me to defeat evil... So listen up Evildoer!" as he again strikes a pose. His left hand holding the dial is across his chest rests on his hip; his right stretched across his chest. "For all those that have fought for justice in the past, I am a Warrior of Justice!" as a bright light begins to shine, "Totem Access!" as a flash erupts.
Surrounded by a vast emptiness, Alex's eyes are closed, his body naked. As he opens his eyes the space is flooded with water. As he becomes submerged in it, his flesh changes he opens his eyes and is half-human, half-Orca. A killer whale appears and swims around his, his skins once again changes as the whale circles around him; his skin is now covered by a black jumpsuit. He looks up as a helmet encases his face, it black visor flashes as the Orca cries in the background. A symbol appears on his chest resembling the Yin sign.
The creature whines as the light subsides, "A new age calls for a new Shaman, I am the keeper of the Universal song, Totem of the Ocean, Black Orca!" he runs forward and jumps, going onto a flying side kick, which does little to actually effect the creature. After the hit grabs a hold of the pipe and with a firm kick jars it loose. He focuses his energy on the pipe as it morphs and changes into a spear with the head resembling a killer whale and end sprouting two fin-like blades. Alex admires his work until he is forced to dodge an incoming left cross. The creature was awake now and getting a little feisty. With a defensive swing, Alex severs the creatures left arm off. It twitches on the ground a moment before the rest of the body launches tendrils grabbing the arm, pulling the arm up and reattaching it in seconds.
"Dross..." the creature grumbles as it launches itself towards Alex. It uses its arm to latch on to a car as it runs by. Alex begins to put up a defense as the car comes crashing down. The creature moved up and lifted a large portion of the debris; Alex lay on the ground in a slight crater. "Dross..." as the creature knelt down and picked up Alex's unconscious body. Across the street the cover of a fire hydrant began to tremble as the restraint bolt begins to twist. The bolt burst as an onrush of water bursts onto the road.
"Let me go!" as Alex dug his knees into its abdomen. The creature did not react; Alex shifted his weight twisting its arm. Its grip loosened as he fell, Alex held his arm out as the spear slid into his grasp. A large curve of water shot up as he thrust the weapon up impaling it through its head. He took a few steps back and time seemed to slow almost freezing as he shifted his feet making what appeared to be a figure eight. He held his left arm at his side as his right arm moved, just like in the old kung fu movies. His arm copying the motion his feet were performing as the water began to gather around him.
"Ocean... Wave Crusher!" as Alex thrust his arm forward; time returned to normal speed as the burst of water rushed forward and blew a hole the size of a basketball through its chest. As he pulled his arm back, the spear dislodged from the creatures head and flew back towards him, he snatched it out of the air with his left hand as he spun around decapitated it. He looked around and walked up to the body. A small beetle-like fell out of the neck; he knelt down in the standing water and picked up the creature. He swiftly stood up and crushed the beetle in his hand. He looked down as the creature began to decompress, as he fell apart. Alex knelt down as his helmet retracted and he saw the hand of the man that tried to save him. "Mr. Jacobson..." His fists tightened and the water from the hydrant began to flow even stronger. The ground and manholes tremble under some strong force then as his helmet flips back covering his face as he stand.

Piles of boxes were stacked up all throughout the room. Samejima Yamamoto searched the entire warehouse finding that there were no exit anywhere and very the place had even less light. Then a beacon flowed forth from heaven, one solitary beam of light as bright as a ray of sunshine. Sameji began to walk towards the light and as she draws closer to it, she begins to see a silhouette of some person. This person stands directly under the beam, with their solitary back to her but as she drew closer this person turned and because of the light she could not see the person's face. However, strangely enough even with the bright light blinding her she could still see this persons eyes. As clear as the light that hide their face. The silhouette told that it was a masculine figure and he was wearing a tight fitted suit of armor, not like a knights but an organic looking high-tech suit. The person's eyes were warm and a deep-hazel color. The man began to walk towards her and an odd feeling began to creep over her. Though it is strangely calming to her in her otherwise tense state-of-mind. A song began to play, it is one of her favorite songs, Shinjitsu To Gensou To as performed by L'Arc~en~Ciel. Throughout the room as if in stereo, it echoes the sweet and sad melody. The figure takes her up into his arms embracing her in a warm hold. This also washed her over with some comfort.
Then it happened the figure tilts Sameji's head, their mouths intertwine. A chill goes up and down her spine. She does not fight him; the thought did not even begin to cross her mind. His hand moves to the side of her face than becomes entangled in her hair. As the other hand begins to move its way down resting gently on her hipbone, they continue to kiss. Suddenly and very violently the man pushes Sameji back away from him. She looks again into this person's eyes. A great wave of fear filled the once warm, inviting eyes. As she continues to watch his pain filled eyes. He begins to scream as hundreds of tentacles fill the room, piercing boxes left and right. The screams became torment filled as two long bug-like wings unfold from his back, twitching and fluttering. His face was now that of a humanoid-insect its mouth open. His citrine eyes the epitome of sorrow, loneliness and tragedy.
From the light, a shower of cherry-blossom petals begins to rain down over them both. As the man begins to rise up to the sky, "Wait, who are you?" asks Sameji.
"I am a Seed of..." as the music playing in the background begins to play louder and louder, drowning out the man's last words.

Divination 02: Existence.
[October 21, 2004. The Yamamoto's residence.]
"Sameji... Samejima!" called Ranma Yamamoto, the girls father as she rolled over and looked at the time. It was half past 8 she definitely late for school, since her classes begin each day at 8. She jumped out of bed and hurried around her bedroom. She didn't have time to care, throwing on anything that wasn't dirty and barreled down the stairs. The restaurant was bustling with the usual early goers. She rushed into the kitchen and walked into the bathroom, quickly washing her face. She checked herself out one last time in the mirror and made sure she didn't have too greatly from bed-head. As she stepped out of the bathroom she said hello to the waitresses that worked in the morning. She walked up to her Dad and hugged him.
"Tou~san, I'm heading out."
"Well, you better hurry! Your going to be even later kid." said Ranma as he turned around in her embrace and returned her affection. "Have a good day!" said Ranma as Sameji smiled and quickly left. As she got outside she walked to the eastern part of the parking lot and unlocked the shed, where she kept her bike. Yamamoto's is a quaint style small and the building was an abandoned building that used to a restaurant many years ago. Ranma and Sameji moved out here about 14 years ago now, he purchased the rundown building for twelve hundred. Ranma being a widower and single father was down on his luck, a former cooking prodigy being the only student of the infamous Shirotetsuo~no~Taiyoenjinryu style, but ultimately left his master and his teaching to pursue something he felt stronger to, love. The restaurant was opened about a year and a half after than and Silent Meadows as adored them ever since, living a few miles out of town was a bonus for them. Since Sameji who was and will probably always be a naturally curious type of person, loves to explore the surrounding forests often taking a camera along and photographing any thing that catches her eye, usually dead animals.
She opened the double doors and walked over to her bike, her pride and joy. A beat up Suzuki motocross bike and with a pleased look on her face she pulled the bike out. The smile was she knew a short cut to the college. Her dad forbid her from taking, in his opinion, such a dangerous out-of-the-way trail that one could possibly get lost on and possibly be attacked by some innocent animal that she may enrage, through accident she'd claim, but she was nineteen years young and she could make up her own mind right? He wouldn't have a clue and she could roam the mountainside for some fun, cutting her drive by at least ten minutes. She kicked the starter and away she went.
This was one of her favorite things to do among other things. One being the enjoyment of riding her motorbike, another was writing, poetry, music lyrics or composing her own songs. However, all those things pale in comparison to her most favorite thing to do, which of course was to play Denji Sentai Megaranger. Which was located at her second home and most favored arcade in all Silent Meadows, Grendel's Lair, through some very questionable connections acquired one of the few remaining units importing it from Japan via the INET group, who had manufactured the game over half-a-decade ago. But she was not heading to Grendel’s; she has to in class about 20 minutes ago. She noticed she was rounding a mountain trail as she began to cross the reserve's parking lot. She came to a screeching halt. The parking lot is cluttered with police vehicles, a few noticed her and immediately began to block her off.
"Sorry miss, but you cannot drive through here." said a young police officer.
"Oh, I wasn't planning on it... What happened here?" asked Sameji. The policeman with his index finger raised the brim of his hat.
"Well, on the down low... A High-school student was found dead in the parking lot." Sameji tried to see who it was but the police officer immediately blocked her way.
"Can you tell me her name?" asked Sameji with the sweetest look on her face. The officer kept his poise and Sameji didn't bother continuing the conversation so she drove just along the edge of the lot far enough to keep the police's eye on her but not enough to be a nuisance and as soon as she saw her trail she took it and was off again. Minutes later she was heading into the college parking lot, which was completely devoid of all other human contact, which would be typical. Silent Meadows Community and Technical College was that sort of place. Everyone was so laid back that the school had a unnaturally great attendance record, minus of course herself but the faculty all know her father on a intimately personal level, which lead her to believe he was hiding a lot more than he lead her to believe. But regardless the faculty is all reasonably considerate anyway when it's dealing with matters of the home. She pulled up to the bike rake and along with all the bicycles she locked her front wheel into the rake, chaining it good and tight, though she knew in the back of her mind no one would steal it. But luck favored the prepared.
The police continued searching the surrounding area for any clues to how this girl may have died. One police officer knelt down and over looked the body again, the hole was already beginning to fill with maggots. He looked around her and saw nothing that would say she fought back; other then the fact that one of her hands was still missing. One was found picked at by a bird dropped some 30 feet from the crime scene, while the other had was still unaccounted for, a couple of them believe an animal may of run off with it. "Detective, so are you ready with a statement? The press was tipped off to us... They're going to want to know what happened."
"Tad, look at this laceration. It went right through her and whoever did this stood right in front of her." as he places his hand into the hole. "It was done by someone with either a shovel... or possibly a hand?" on the edge of the woods, well hidden in the mass of branches, a crooked smile twists across a demented face.
*"Skulldugger! Report!"* The imp's smile twists to a snarl as he places two of his stubby fingers up to his temple and closes his eyes, a third eye opens in his forehead.
*"My Prince... the human's are still overlooking the body. Each as you can see have a weak manna pulse... not even worth the time to pick."* The man in the Crimson cloak is called Kierka. Last sovereign of the Ancient creatures, his eyes were closed and he also held his two fingers to his temple. He sat atop the statue and was already growing bored with their visitors. If this was the time of his former reign he would have the power to make them bow, cowering in fear simple of mentioning his name. But in his weakened state he could nothing more than observe for the time being. Walking into the room through one of the walls was the Prince's sword, the masked-woman Mornia, her face cover in a featureless mask. Showing that she was nothing but the blade to cut her Prince's enemies. Kierka broke the link with Skulldugger he slowly opened his eyes.
"What is it?" said an annoyed Kierka. Mornia immediately took a knee and bowed to him.
"My Prince, Wilina has finished reviving and she says she can revive your servants." Mornia's words made him hopeful that he could be at full strength very soon. For Wilina was the King's sorceress but if any of his father's subordinates ever an ounce more faithful, they would be few and far between. He rose to his feet and left the room through the wall Mornia had entered through. She was collecting up all of her veils of miscellaneous elixirs. She looked up and was struck back by the sight of Kierka. As she began to bow, he stepped forward and instead bowed before her.
"My Prince?" said Wilina. Kierka looked up at her, his eyes were softened by her presence.
"Dear Wilina... How have I continued without your aid?" Wilina turned and Kierka stood, he stepped forward and embraced her. "Never leave my side again."
"My Prince, 'twas not of my conviction to your father that sent me from your side my Prince. What has been the goings on during our rest? Lord Rime made it clear that we have been asleep for a great many." Kierka began to seethe with anger.
"By the estimation from the stars... 6,000 years we have slept. But why are we the only remnants. The human's did not even seem to know who we are! The insolent vermin..." then a vile idea crept into Kierka's mind. He closed his eyes and focused back on his subordinate. *"Skulldugger! Do you still carry the creatures Lord Anansi gave to you?"* Without a second prompting Skulldugger replied.
*"Yes, my Prince... I still carry the egg's that Lord Anansi gave to me?"* And then the same thought crept into the imp's little mind. *"Right? My Prince I know just what to do!"* As Kierka opened his eyes.
"Wilina, how soon can you have a batch of Serum ready?" inquired Kierka.
"Within the hour. Less, when I become more acquainted with our new home." said Wilina as Kierka scoffed at the very idea.

Outside, Skulldugger opens one of the many pouches that hang on his belt. He pulled a round pod shaped seed. He malignantly grins as with on hand covers his mouth and nose, while, with the other he ran his long nail along the seam of the pod as it coughed out tiny bursts of spores. He generously sprinkled them into the air and dropped the pod. He watches in childlike glee as the police officer's begin to cough, a cunctation of moments pass then as if like an orchestra that had been readying itself, setting into motion the overture of seizures that befell all those poor souls. Skulldugger snickered as he jumped from the tree. He landed with the grace of a cat and immediately began concentrating and performing ritual symbols with his hands. "Illu vi taium gig fash maper meno vuan!" Suddenly each began to stand and suddenly appearing on their faces are putrid looking spiders. As each of the creatures heads were inserted into a part of the person's face, they’re little insect bodies trembling and pulsating.
"And it shall be done my Prince." said the Imp, he walked up to the police officers and seemed very proud of himself. *"My Prince, what would you like these pawns to do?"* Skulldugger waited a moment as he just started to notice how short he really was compared to these men. "You know you used to be closer to my height man. Seems the folly of your kind... you grow tall and you think your better than Skulldugger."
*"Send them out into the world, find us manna rich human's, animal's, whatever or whomever they can find for us."* Skulldugger smiled and nodded his head.
"Hear this Storks, go out and search for people, places, things or animals that are rich in manna. Report any findings back to either Prince Kierka or myself. Now go." the spider creatures squealed a most volatile screech and the body jerked alive. Stumbling like B-movie zombies they each get into their cars and starting them, all leaving the parking lot. Skulldugger finally turns, running back towards the cave with certain pep in his step.
[Silent Meadows Community and Technical College.]
Sameji sat in the music room playing her guitar; she's started the bad habit of leaving it in the locker she was assigned at the college. She strums out a parts of the piece she has been working on for her degree, she her dream is to one day be a music writer. Maybe even one day find a label and play her songs for more than just herself. The title of this particular song is 'A work in progress' but it is a song dedicated to the memory of her mother and a story she used to tell her. But that was such a long time ago, before they moved here, before her mom left them for a better place. She wiped away some tears that were beginning to form, this song made her think so much about her mother. "Okaa~san..." she whispered to herself. She continued to strum the melancholy melody.
Off on the opposite end of the room, something moved causing a clutter of noises and also making quite a few of the music stands fall, the dissonance clutter the room with it's noisy echoing. This startled Sameji awake from her thoughts as she stood up and peered around the dark room, she calmly lowered her guitar into its case.
"Hello?" as in walked her professor Mr. Engsdall; a bulbous man with curly black hair and a passion for life second to music. Sameji finished putting her guitar in its case and walked over to her locker, sliding it in. As she turns Mr. Engsdall is standing by the chair she was sitting in and was looking over her music. He turned and looked up at her, walking over to her he personally hands her the sheets.
"Your music is coming along quite exquisitely... you think it'll be ready for the spring performance?" Sameji shrugged her shoulders, in which Mr. Engsdall let out a sigh. "I hope you can finish it, otherwise you'll have to live with not passing this class...Speaking of, I've taken the liberty and spoken to your other Professor's. It seem that this is your only class you are holding a stable grade in and some of them are willing to overlook some of your tardiness, if you can convince them, many of them are very much looking forward to your performance. So, no pressure. Just keep coming along with this." Sameji looked dumbfounded as he patted her on the shoulder.
"Eh, yeah, right...no pressure." as she turns and begins to leave the room. She could not be feeling any more pressure, she knew she was doing bad...but not that bad. She walks down the hallway; she walked up to the mezzanine and sat down on one of the numerous couches. "I can't believe my entire school career is depending on this song. This is great, just great!" as she looked down and noticed she was beginning to crumple up her music sheets. Loosening her grip she slowly rose walking back down the steps. As she passes the art classrooms, the doors were jarred slightly open the rooms dark. She continues past without a seconds thought and walks out the double doors.
Right as she opens the door, she is hit with a cool autumn breeze. She shivers a moment and continues down the steps. Turning she walks up towards the schools main doors, to the bike rack where she has parked her bike. As she was removing the chain, a man in a tattered police uniform began to approach her; she looked around seeing if they were looking at someone else. The quickened his pace as she pulled her bike out of the rack. She noticed the man had a strange growth, no a spider on his neck, it pulsated and twitched as it seemed to have its face buried inside his ear.
"Can I help you with something? *Like take you to a hospital*" said Sameji. The man's eyes rolled around as they each became fixated in opposite directions.
"I...need...your...Manna..." as he drunkenly sways back and forth. Then, it came to Sameji this man was one of the police officers from earlier he was overlooking the body. As just then he lashes out, grabbing her arms and shoulder. She instinctively raises her leg and plants her foot into his groin, but it had little to no effect. So she did the only thing that came to mind, with great speed and force thrust her palm into his nose. Feeling it fracture, his grip loosen just enough for her to push him off.
She grabbed her bike and got on, luckily it started right away and she sped off leaving the man behind her. She sped off the landing and roared onto the parking lot. She glanced back and the man in a full sprint was gaining ground towards her, suddenly she was pulled off of her bike, her body striking the ground very hard. It was another of the police he had leapt out from behind one of the parked cars. With all the air knocked out of her lungs, she could not scream as more and more of the police began to appear they completely surround her. Then they begin to assault her, most punching and kicking, while some begin to tear at her clothing, ripping her jacket, her pants they begin to get her clothing off when, off on the distance, they stop what they are doing when they begins to hear a whistling, a familiar but very melancholy tune it seemed to echo on the air, they turn and a man, solitarily walk towards them some begin to rise all stare dumbfounded by this person's presence.
"The Heavens call to me! The Earth calls to me! All Humanity calls to me! They call on me to defeat evil... So listen up Evildoers!" as he stops and strikes a pose. His left hand balled into a fist rests along his hip, his right stretched across his chest, and in his hand he holds a puck shaped device. A jewel that is inset in the middle glows a deep purple. "For all those that have fought for justice in the past, I am a Warrior of Justice!" as a bright light begins to shine, "Totem Access!"
"A new age calls for a new Shaman of the Earth, I am the keeper of the Universal song. Totem of the Ocean, Black Orca!" Alex takes another step forward as it seems as if the police are frozen in place. Then he sprints, dash moving forward with incredible speed. Alex only hit each officer in a point between the neck and the shoulder. Knocking all the men out within moments, before poor Sameji had time to realize what was happening, all the people were on the ground. The man in black was carefully removing the insects from where ever they sat on the face. As he pulled them off, each crumbled to dust before it hit the ground. She began to sit up as a gloved hand outstretched to her. She takes it and is quickly helped to her feet. The man's helmet began to fold, retracts mostly behind his head and she finally gets a look at her savior, realizing that he is a man about her age. His golden brown hair sways lightly in the breeze.
"You're alright?" asks Alex. Sameji shakes her head. "Okay, Where are you injured?" suddenly she snaps out of her trance.
"Oh, wow...I'm not hurt. But what was that you just did there?" the man smiles and shakes his head.
"I am a Shaman...that is a simple enough answer and second piece of info...I felt a rift in this dimension. Though it may be a tad unconventional to say so, I could hear these guys." as he looked down at the unconscious police officers. "They were calling to anyone that could hear them...they wished to be free of those...those insects." as he pulled out a puck shaped device and as another flash enveloped around him, his body and whatever he had been previously wearing re-materialized he was in street clothes, a dark brown zip-up sweatshirt and a pair of light blue jeans. He still held the puck shaped device. He slides it into his sweatshirt pocket. He turns just as a picture falls out of his pocket landing onto the ground. Sameji walks over and picks it up.
"Wait a second. You dropped this..." as she turned the picture over. "September 21, 1992, Alex and Samejima" it was a picture with herself in it, a much younger self, about seven years old; with a much younger version of the man that stood in front of her now. They were posing, leaning up against an old tree that was out in front of the restaurant, she was holding a calico kitten and he stood with his hands behind his back. They both looked silly, each with their grins so large.
"Oh, thank you... I don't suppose you remember me?" said Alex as he snatched the picture away from her. Sameji feels like she should know this person, then it came to her.
"Alex?" said Sameji as Alex smiled and nodded his head. "You've really grown. Wait, what the hell happened to you?! You just up and left! Your sister said you were being home schooled by your grandfather."
"Well you can probably figure out that I was learning more than just Sociology and Art History,” said Alex as he pulled out the puck shaped device. "This is called a totem-dial...It's how I am able to transform into my Shaman battle state. Here you can hold it, if you want." as he extends his arm out. Sameji hesitantly touched the device. At first a jolt of static electricity jolts her hand. Alex suddenly becomes a little more intrigued. "That's strange... The totem-dial is reacting to your life manna. I believe," as their eyes locked in a stare. "And don't quote me, but I believe you are a Shaman like me!"
"How is that possible?" said Sameji as she again tried to touch the device, she received another shock, but this one was greatly weaker. So, the third time she just grabbed it out of Alex's hand. Instantly becoming engulfed in light.

She now stood in a great void, then from the endless darkness something began to emerge. She now stands face to face with a large emerald fox, as the beast’s nine tails sway as some crossed currents of electricity surged until the tails became too far apart. Sameji began to be overcome by fear, and the fox began to snarl showing all its razor sharp fangs. "Where am I?" Sameji said to herself, not expecting any one or thing to reply.
"We are in the landscape of your mind." said a voice as clear as crystal.
"Who's talking to me?" asked Sameji. She looked down and the fox was perfectly calm, it was sitting on what could only be assumed as the ground.
"I am the embodiment of your Warrior's instinct. Warrior of illusion, denizen of the mystic camouflage, that which drapes all life in the allusion we know as life. You are one of the chosen, you will be called on as the Daemon lay claim to all the Earth, and you will be able to help those you love." The fox looked away from Sameji and off towards the horizon. Images of the police officers began to appear through ripples that just appeared. "These men were controlled by the use a loyal servant to the Daemon cause, they were common during their tyrannical reign... called the will of Anansi." another flash of light envelopes around her.
As Sameji opens her eyes, Alex was sitting in front of her. "You okay?" said Alex. She looks around and gets her bearings.
"What's happened to me?" said Sameji as Alex's attention is suddenly taken away from her as she followed his line of sight. A man stands at the edge of the parking lot and that highway that intersected with it. Alex began to stand as the man disappears, reappearing right in front of them, Kierka pulled back his cloak and revealed a face alien to them, his eyes glistening cobalt blue and resembled those of a large cat. His hair, a raven's shade of blue, it was all spiked up and pushed behind a silver coronet that shimmered on his forehead. His face was dolefully statuesque neglecting the fact he has no nose.
"Shaman. I thought you might have become extinct like the world of which I was born into. What? Do you believe you stand any sort of a chance against us!" as four other persons who appear from what seems like nowhere.
"I am Prince and rightful ruler of Earth. Son of the High King, Emissary of Eternal Darkness, Over-ruler of the fabric that you human's refer to as Time and Space, his royal majesty High-King Vuidyfel!" as he grabs Alex by the throat and raises him with ease choking him. A wiry man steps forward and gives a slight bow.
"I am his Majesty's loyal Chamberlain, foreseeing the Kingdom that my lore may come back too. I am Lord Rime." as Kierka loosens his grip and Rime lifts Alex's chin, he steps aside as a woman covered in thick overlapping robes shows herself.
"I am my Lords High-Sorceress, Tekhnadrasdireen Wilina." as she waves her stave the ground begins to rumble as two stocks of stone shoots up and again raises Alex up, the twin pillars lightly pinch the sides of Alex's neck. He struggles to find ground as his feet grope the air. The totem-dial begins to glow in Sameji's hand.
"Let him go!" Sameji cries Skulldugger steps forward letting out a devilish snicker he extends his index fingers out and as if he is unwinding some invisible string.
"Name's Skulldugger... Tactician is my venue... Hope will get to play some baby Shaman." he moves his hands a cord tightened around Alex's body. The final member stands silent and does not move, just watches the others make spectacle of themselves. Skulldugger grins, "An that's Mornia... Tight lipped as usual." Rime walked up to Kierka's and stands next to his side.
"My Prince... What should we do about his life manna? We could use it... even if he is a Shaman?" Kierka does not seem to even flinch as he continues to watch Alex squirm.
"Shaman manna is as pointless to take as stealing it from the dead. They may have storage of it, but it is a tainted kind being closet to that of the Great Spirit's. Their kind of filth will taint our desires." then a thought crossed the Princes mind. "I have an idea... Let us begin our reign fresh. We will instilling fear back into this world and these fools will be the beginning!" as he watches as Skulldugger tightens the cord around Alex's throat. "Watch, as I recycle this Shaman-wannabe back into that reprehensible place! But that girl there, we shall drain her manna until every once is gone, until her body crumbles to dust and blows away!" Then deep inside Sameji something began to resonate as she felt herself filling up with an unknown amount of energy. She looked down at her hands and instantly notices that they less resembled her hands and more so resembled paws! The Daemon appears to be shocked as they watch her transformation quickly take her.
"Let him go...ARGH!" was the last words that come from Sameji's mouth as several bolts of lightning shoot from her mouth. About to strike the Prince as Kierka quickly trades places with Rime who takes the brunt of the damage. Skulldugger yanks at the threads he was using to choke Alex tightened, Sameji leapt forward and before the imp knew it he was grounded and out cold.
"Damn it! Attack!" screamed Kierka as Mornia moved in front of him to protect the Prince. But to Sameji in her animal state, Mornia could have been moving in slow motion. She looked back as her nine tails shuddered, each fully extended outward, sparks of electricity shot off of their tips. Then Mornia began to move and Sameji opened her mouth and gave her a full blast of electricity. As she spun around Wilina was just finishing an incantation, which sounded very funny to Sameji. She leapt at her, planning to take a chunk of her throat out and instead nailed Kierka in the back. He had suddenly moved in front of the sorceress with his back to Sameji. The ground began to split as seven pale white creatures began to emerge. As they rose, the Daemon began to vanish as spirals of smoke swept around them.
She blinked her eyes and they were gone, the seven pale creatures now surrounded her, each had a single glowing eye that sat directly in the center of their faces. The claws that were now extending from their left hand, looked razor sharp and each one looked hungry for carnage. She turned her head and saw the spell that held Alex was now fading. But he looked worse for the ware. All seven lunged at her; she dodges them easy and manages to trip one of them. As he falls though he cuts four thin marks down her side. She let's out a yelp and turns crushing his skull between her jaws. By the time she turned another was thrusting his arm towards her, barely having the time to react she manages to avoid a severely deep cut. She scratches at him but her paws seem to not do enough damage. She steps back and as the next two try to stab her, she leaps up and using their bodies jumps over the group. She tries to pick Alex up but he's out cold and much too heavy for her current body. Then finally he begins to stir and as he rises, Sameji tries to talk as only barks come from her mouth. But one of the Serum kicks her away. Alex looks up as blood trickles from his nose and mouth.
"It's alright. I've prepared for this day." he claps his hands together as he separates them the totem-dial appears levitating in the air, he grabs it and as three begin to stab him he screams, "TOTEM ACCESS!" and they become enveloped in a flash of light, as it dies down the Serum are screaming as their claw arm are burned away in the light. A small eruption of their oily blood splatters Black Orca's helmet. He stands and as he takes his fighting stance a ripple of energy shock waves through the air. He moved forward, leveling one Serum as he hits the ground, then plants another kick to its abdomen as it guts burst out of its back. He half-turns and punches another in the chest, rocketing it's body backwards. Then twists around and thrusts his fist up cracking the third's jaw as he lifts it off of the pavement.
The sound of sirens near, from both sides of the street eight police cars race towards them. They screech as they come to a stop, the police begin piling out and pulling their side arms out. Alex shifts his feet and begins to motion waves with his hands. The last four Serum turn and face the multiple police, now some of the formally knocked out officers are beginning to stir. Alex slightly turns his head and looks down at Sameji. Then his attention is brought back to the front as the police exit their cars and each holds their guns pointed at them. "Put your hands up!" screams one of the police. The Serum all look at each other. "I said, put your hands..." the officer is caught off guard as the Serum is now in their face! He began to utter fire, but before he could the one that stood atop his squad car picked him up by his head and promptly removed it from his body. All the others officers frightened began to open fire. The asphalt began to spider web as Alex continued his dance, he stopped as a loud scream from below, trembled the ground.
"Hydro Lancet!" as a rush of water shot up from every manhole along the street. The water like, metal to a magnet was drawn to Alex, it encircled him as he thrust his right arm forward, the water followed and crushed the police cars with hundreds of thousands of gallons of water. Sameji let out a pleading yelp as she tries to get his attention and he suddenly draws his arm back, his had now a fist, it rests at his side, as he seems in a meditative trance. The water stops and falls to the ground. The police cars gone, but the officers lay on the ground wet and unconscious.
Alex falls taking one knee, as he all of a sudden tries to catch his breathe. His helmet retracts back and he begins coughing, as blood and vomit fall out of his mouth. He collapses and lies on the ground. The gem inset in the totem-dial, which sits on his side, begins to pulsate as his suit once again disappears. Sameji suddenly cannot breath as she also collapses.

The moon begins to enter the sky as a car rushes through the parking lot and screeches to a halt in front of Alex and Sameji. The car door opens as Alex's grandfather rushes to his grandson's side. He finds him unconscious and a naked girl next to him. He proceeds to lightly shake him; Alex stirs and groggily looks around. He tries to sit up as he begins to fall over. He looks over and upon seeing Sameji, removes his sweatshirt and drapes it over her before falling unconscious again. "Alex, what happened here?" asked Daniel more so to himself. He picked Alex up and loaded him into the car. Then walked to the trunk and took of sweats out of a bag he had in the back. He quickly dressed Sameji and loaded her too into the car. "I see we're going to need to train an awfully lot more then." as he quickly drove away from the college.

The rise of the Daemon did not change the world of Silent Meadows. The media explained the whole incident away as delirium caused by food poisoning and bad water pipes that have been long past due for a proper checkup. Sameji was at the Grendel's Lair; sitting in the back she played her personal get away. She's long since lost count with how long she has been playing Megaranger. But it has been a very long time. This game was very, very unique when a player started a new game it asked for a personalized password, definitely not a typical part of your average arcade game. Then you are to choose one of the five Megaranger's (Red, Black, Blue, Yellow and Pink) you are then set to multiple battles where you fight numerous grunts followed by the level's grunts. Each ranger has unique stages to themselves, after defeating a grunt you gain experience and on some occasions a prize, which is either MEGA-money (game currency) or items (like Health potion or Data-upgrades) and each ranger has independent storylines with many intersecting story points or Event Battles (which typically are triple B's, Big Boss Battle, these events involve the Super Robo's). After you have finished each Boss encounter you are transported back to the beginning of the game. Where you can purchase upgrades for your Ranger's statistics with the MEGA-money that you've earned, you can also purchase videos of your favorite ranger and buy special items (like, the Mega-tectors, the Evolution Beam and Weapon Upgrades). When a player completes every level of the individual Ranger's. You are asked to save and are shown the special event where you have to save as many civilians as you can in 180 seconds; if you manage to save all 60 you gain the privilege ability to use Mega-Silver.
She sat behind the joystick and wasn't really feeling the game today. She had been thinking about the events from a couple weeks ago, her transformation into a fox and all that she witnessed. Then she felt a vibration from inside her pocket, she stood up and finished saving her information. As she pulled her cell out it was Alex. "Hello?" she answered.
"Hey, so do you think you can stop by sometime day?" Sameji thought a moment and couldn't remember having any plans.
"Yeah, I can come by? Are you at your grandfathers?" said Sameji
"Nope... I'm at my parents. Do you remember where that is?" that was a walk down memory lane.
"Yeah, I'll be over in about half-an-hour." said Sameji as she began to leave, she turned and pushed the chair in.
As she exits she was so busy looking through her contacts that she runs right into someone. She stumbles back and looks up at the dark haired boy. "Learn to walk gook!" Sameji mouth fell open when she heard that comment.
"What was that!" she said as the boy pushed her back.
"Oh, your not only a stupid Gook your also deaf!" suddenly Manny, the shops owner and operator comes out form the backroom seeing what all the commotion was about. Seeing whom it is he quickly run and breaks the two up. The boy with black hair scoffs and pushes by Sameji and Manny. Sameji curses under her breath as she finally exits. The boy on the other hand walks in and begins to play one of the many first person shooters. Manny walks up to him,
"Van... Why do you have to be such a trouble-maker?" Van looks over at Manny and rolls his eyes.
"Whatever, it's not like the chink knows anything bought anything. What game does she typically come in here to play?" said Van, or Vance Ergovich a journalist for Ocean Views newspaper. Manny hesitated answering Van's question, he knew that he could some a person up by know what they played. "Come on, Manny. What does that girl play?" he looked back and let out a sigh of frustration.
"She plays Megaranger." as Van lines a shot up in the game he blows the head off of the games spirit and sadistically smirks as he squeezes the guns trigger a few more times.

Divination 03: Survival.
Sameji arrives at the Croft home, to see Daniel's car parked outside. It had been a very long time since she had been here. Not since Alex left 12 years ago, as she parked her bike the front door opened and Alex came walking out. He walked down the path and up to her. "What's up?" Sameji shrugged her shoulders.
"After I called you I ran into this asshole at the arcade. He called me a gook!" said Sameji. Alex thought for a moment and started to laugh. "What's funny about that?!"
"But you're not even from Vietnam? Or Korea? If someone's going to uses names... They might as well take the time to get them right. What an idiot." said Alex. Sameji didn't think of it that way and with that she found it a little funny herself. Then Alex turned as they heard the door open. Alex's mother stood at the door waving to them,
"Hey come on in!" said Alex's mom. They walk up to the door and just before opening the door Alex turns to Sameji. He appear to be a little nervous. Sameji patted his shoulder and they walked in. Sameji was surprised to see all the food Mrs. Croft had prepared. A feast with all the dressings, a turkey with a hefty portion of stuffing, mashed potatoes, a honey glazed ham, two bowls of peas and a small tower of cranberry's as they tilted in their bowl.
After they were all seated the first topic of discussion came up and this surprised Sameji even more, it was brought up by none other then Alex's older sister Catharine. "So Grandpa, why was it again that I wasn't chosen to undertake the Shaman training?" they all continued eating like this was any other topic.
"Cathy? You know that your parents wished a normal life for you. They decided before either of you were born that the first son would shoulder our families task." said Daniel.
"Furthermore, pumpkin. Your Mom and I decided that a boy might be better suited." said Alex's dad. Daniel looked over towards Sameji.
"Can you pass the peas?" asked Daniel. Sameji looked around and lifted the bowl in front of her.
"Cat... You know if you were both girls they would have chosen you?" said Alex as he cut his slice of ham. "And you know, that it's not like Shaman are gender specific. It's just the rule Mom and Dad made for us."
"Yeah, well. It seems like you have the easier end of the deal. I mean, you got to skip all the drama in high-school." Alex paused a moment and to Sameji seemed like he wanted to say something, but held his tongue.
"Catharine... How's your med classes going?" she shrugged and continued eating. Their was a long period of silence around the table as every just sat and ate Sameji thought this was rather awkward since her house was almost never quite. Ranma and her fight a good deal of the time, over little things, not really accumulating to anything but it was never as quiet as this.
"So Sameji, how's your father doing?" said Alex's mom. The sound startled her from her thoughts.
"Oh, he's well. The restaurant is always busy." she replied.
"Your dad must be making some decent money then?" asked Alex's dad. Sameji shrugged her shoulders.
"Ah, well, it doesn't seem too... We make enough to get by. What about you? How's the skeleton business?" her comment was met with a puzzled look from Alex's mother and sister, even Alex gave her a crooked glance. But Alex's dad burst out laughing and slapped his knee.
"Oh, you." as he wiggled his index finger pointing it at Sameji. "The school's going well, but I believe we'll be having to change over the entire program next fall. Computer drafting is the wave of the future. But I will definitely mourn the pencil and paper days." Sameji presented her courtesy smile and went back to eating.
"Dad, so now that the Daemon have returned does that mean, will be seeing less of you and Alex?" said Alex's mother. Daniel looked up and sadly nodded his head.
"I am afraid so Tina. It is because the Daemon's return means Alex has to begin special training, of course with Sameji, who we also found out, has an exceptionally strong manna source. She also transformed, when she came in contact with the totem-dial!" the family gave her a round of applause. She sheepishly sunk down in her seat.
"Good gracious!" exclaimed Alex's mom. "Two Shaman? That is a strange twist of fate. It goes without saying that you have Shaman blood, do you have a family tree?" Sameji shook her head. "Well then, I think I'll have to talk to your father sometime soon and do that for you."
"Mom, don't go pestering Mr. Yamamoto." said Alex. His mom just waved at him as if she was shooing away the comment.
"Tsk, tsk... It's no trouble at all." Alex and Catharine shared a glance then mournfully looked at Sameji, before they all shared a laugh.
Van looked from the steering wheel of the racing simulator that he was playing; it was about 5 o'clock and the sun had long since set on this day. As he walked out he ran smack into one of his classmates, Allen Cade, who looked rather upset about something. He shot a glance up to Van and they shared a nod between them. "Hey, Al. Where's your shadow?" Allen looked around and then turns back staring at Van.
"So he isn't here either?" Van smirked and shook his head. "Crap, we were supposed to meet after school and he never showed..." said Allen
"Oh, quit being a bitch Al. Maybe Ben finally grew to sever that umbilical cable you've two had since grade school."
"Shut up Van... Your an asshole." as he shoves his way past Van. As the door slowly closes he watches him. Manny warmly greats Allen and they begin some conversation was secluded from.
"Your deluded..." said Van. As Van takes a left as he leaves the Grendel and walks down the sidewalk. He watched the streetlights flicker as he passed beneath them. It was a strange day when the Cade twins are socially separated. They were not real twins, but they were close everyone in his class knew. The almost yearly retreats they were forced to attend always showed their closeness. It sickened him and for the life of him he could never find a person to get that kind of closeness with. As he walked by the local movie theater someone inside suddenly rushed out of the theaters double doors.
"Hey, Van!" as he stopped and turned around to see Matilda an upperclassman and his long-time off and on flame. She jogged up to him, "Where were you?" said Matilda.
"I was at the Grendel why?" said Van as she gave him a crooked look.
"We were going to see a movie tonight. Remember?" said Matilda. Van rolled his eyes and began to walk away from her.
"We always go and watch a movie... It's not like your family owns a movie theater or anything? You think maybe I'm sick of watching some sappy love stories." he notices the sad look on her face and quickly rephrased what he was thinking. "Jay wants me home... said something big has happened. So I'll call you later, alright?" as he began to turn away.
"Wait?" says Matilda as he stops and looks back again. "Don't I get a proper good-bye?" Van sighed and walked up to her, even though they were basically the same age, she was almost two years ahead of him. Not that he had been held back, but she has been bumped ahead. She had a yearly tan and dark silken hair, she was full figured but not overweight in any way. He walked up and they shared an embrace of not only bodies but an embrace of their lips as they share a deep passionate kiss. Then as quickly as it started it ended as Van pulled away.
"Alright, I gotta go." and without another exchange of words he left the girl as she continued to watch him walk away.

Van steps off of the transit bus and walked up a light-less street. To a little rundown mobile trailer that was nestled in a woodland nook, he walked up a slight incline. He opened the door and walked in the house. It was empty like it always was; he walked through the dark home and back to his room, which is at the furthest reaches of the house. He walks in and stands in the dark of his room. Walking into the room, he navigated in near perfect darkness. Turning on his stereo, his CD player began as the group 'Six Feet Under' began to serenade him with their macabre lyrics and death guitar rifts. Van sat down on his bed and looked around his room. There was a package on his bed, he lifted it and noticed it's relative lightness. There was a note attached so he leaned over and flicked on his light, it was written in Jay's handwriting. He immediately recognized what the item is, a jacket he had purchased his cousin as a Christmas present a year ago. He opened the note and his jaw tightened.
[The Croft house, 6:46 PM]
Alex and Sameji are walking through the Croft's backyard, which consists of 80 acres of uncultivated land, mostly patch forests along with rock formation. "Sorry about that... I didn't know that they were going to be making so much." said Alex.
"Is it true?" asked Sameji. Alex stopped and turned to see a concerned look on her face. "Your parents chose for you to do this?!" Alex smiled and shrugged his shoulders.
"Yes, but I don't think its such a big deal. I'm fulfilling my families duty to the Earth."
"Alex, that's great and everything. But what about you? Don't you ever think you missed out on life? Have you ever thought how different your life would have been if you wouldn't have been training all this time!" said Sameji as Alex watches her carefully.
"Then the Daemon would have still risen again. They still would have come, but because I spend the those years in training, we may just have the edge to not all get killed... but I am only one and they may be calling the others?" Sameji stopped dead in her tracks.
"There're more, Alex! What do you hope to accomplish alone! You got beat by two of them... What do you think you can do!" screamed Sameji as Alex placed his hands on her shoulders.
"But you see I am not alone. I have partners... They just don't know that yet?" Sameji pushed his hands away and shook her head.
"Uh-uh! No way! You think I can fight with you?" she began to check his head for anything unusual, "You must have suffered from brain damage when we were attacked." Alex pushed her hands aside.
"I can't do this alone. I need your help." said Alex. Sameji thought she could see a deep desperation calling to her from his sad looking eyes.
"But I'm not a..." Alex covers her mouth with his hand.
"You are! Magic does not discriminate to anyone, not of nationality, of creed, nor does it cater to gender. Anyone has the power to become a Shaman. Even you, though you refuse to believe it!" said Alex as Daniel suddenly appeared before them, or more then likely this was when they both finally noticed him.
"Sameji... Please, Alex will need your help, you will support each other. I've come to ask you to join us tomorrow. Since their seems to be a lull in the Daemon's activity. If you could join us in training, let's see," as he thinks for a moment. "Tomorrow is Friday, so do you attend classes?" Sameji shakes her head, but she began to second think telling the truth. "Good, then will pick you up around 7."
"In the morning?" asked Sameji. Daniel nodded his head as Alex reconfirmed it with his nod.
A few feet behind where Alex and Sameji were standing something watched them. It's eyes focused on them, its mouth partially began to open as it bares it fangs. It turns and runs back deeper into the woods.
[October 29, 2004. 9:03 AM, the Yamamoto's Residence.]
Sameji and Alex stand both looking out at the mighty sun as it journeys up to the celestial sphere. She looks over at Alex as he remains perfectly still with his eyes closed. Calmness poured from him as she tried to also look so calm, as he stands absorbing the suns rays. But her mind had so many questions to ask, and as long as Alex was in a meditative state. "Alex... Am I... Am I really like you?" Alex opened his eyes, he looks over and gives her a large smile.
"No." as he turned his head and just then Sameji realized he was different. His face was much darker, almost completely black, he pulled his shirt up over his head as a large fin began to push out of his back. "I am the Totem of our Ocean. I look to them for guidance... Guidance through this world, they teach me the Universal Song. We each must trust in the Great Spirit that exists around us." said Alex as he began to take on a more Orca-like appearance.
"But how did I do that?" said Sameji.
"Just like a Martial Artist exerting their qi. Or how a wizard uses their intricate knowledge of herbs and animals. We Shaman listen to the nine totems that surround us, they are our guides. A long time ago, we humans fought the Daemon. The price we paid was the entire continent of Lemuria, which became the battleground, now lost forever as an exile of time. So many died, so that the Daemon could be defeated."
"Wait, if the Daemon were defeated then how are they still alive?" Alex looked down and began to turn back to normal.
"I have no clue... If they were truly defeated then how can they still be alive?" he stared out at the horizon. "There's no way to tell. Let's try to get you to at least be able to maintain your intermediate state for five minutes. Oh, and I almost forgot, here this is for you... My grandfather got it from his connection." as Alex pulls an identical Totem-dial from his sweatshirt pocket. He hands it to Sameji, who notices the clear gem in the center. "The gem means you haven't made contact with your totem yet. But that won't take long, you would have already met it, otherwise you wouldn't have been able to change in the first place. Sit down." as they both sat, Alex scooted forward and grabbed Sameji's hands, she felt her heart flutter. "We need to channel your energy... Awaken your totem's energy, have you practiced anything to do with your charkas?"
"I've read about it?" said Sameji.
"Well, think of accessing your Shaman powers through meditation. Your totem is the Fox. The fox is a master of camouflage and art of melding in with their surroundings. You must also be observant so you can better perceive what is coming next." as they both looked up and as the sun shown down a light rain began to fall.
"Look at that, a Kitsune rain." she looks down at Alex and punched him lightly in the arm. "This observation thing isn't so hard, is it?" suddenly they heard a tumult of branches as they snap and break. Out of the trees comes the stumbling a familiar face. Alex looks down and a confused look grows across his face. As another two similar looking creatures emerge following behind the first.
"Sameji, get inside." said Alex.
"Why?" and before she could finish her question Alex was bolting toward the three Dross, totem-dial out, in a blinding light he is transformed and throws a right cross. The first dodges as the other two move forward and knock Alex back onto his back. He flipped himself up and deflects the second’s sidekick and knocks out his other leg. The third lands a severe punch to his back. The first runs forward and the second boost's him into the air. Alex materializes his spear into his hand and pushes the second and third back. Just then the first comes down and slices through the shaft of his spear, gouging a large chuck of flesh open his chest. "ARGH!" as the other two pull out his legs.
Sameji watches as she couldn't bear to see Alex being hurt. She pulled out her totem-dial and turned the keystone over the symbol for transformation. "I don't care what happens... I am not just going to stand by and watch this! Totem!"
"Sameji don't!" Alex manages to scream out as the first kicks his body into the air as the other two launch forward running towards her.
"Totem Access!" as she raises the dial in the air, a blinding flash encloses around her and she is covered in a grey featureless uniform similar to Alex's, but her helmet had not animal design. She ran forward, catching the two off guard as she cloths-lined the second, then caught third as she hooked it's head in between her thigh and calf. Before letting it go and kicking it in the chin. She turned just as the first one comes up and grabs her by the throat throwing her back. As she flies back, suddenly a bolt of lighting strikes her. Her vision suddenly goes white. Where her body should have fell a large beautiful silver fox now sat. The Dross triplets watched the fox curiously a moment.
"Dross..." said the Dross triplets as they leap into the air, each poised and ready to destroy the fox. As they land, which surely appears to be the end of the large fox. It suddenly disappears and reappears several feet away, suddenly the animal faded and Sameji stood, she was covered from head to toe in a light green suit with the image of the fox molded into her helmet.
"In this new age of man, the Earth calls for those to represent her! I am a new Shaman for the Earth! The light, which pierces through the darkness, the breeze that passes through the trees, Totem of the Forest, Green Fox Calling!" as Sameji runs forward a crackle pops in the air as she lands the first punch a electric discharge sparked from her fist as just then a bolt of lightning flashed through the trees striking the third Dross, incinerating him in an instance. Then the rain began to pour, drenching the forest in no time.
Sameji suddenly noticed that rain stopped, not in the sense that it ceased but the droplets froze in midair, "The Heavens call to me!" as Sameji felt a ripple through the air "The Earth calls to me!" as she felt a tremble in her feet. "All Humanity calls to me! They call on me to defeat evil... So listen up Evildoer! For all those that have fought for justice in the past, I am a Warrior of Justice!" as Alex appears from behind the two remaining Dross, they turn and face towards him. "I am the Keeper of the Universal Song, Black Orca!" as he rushes and throws his spear lodging it into the seconds chest. The rain suddenly recommenced falling all the harder.
"Sameji! Take this!" rang a voice through the falling rain. Sameji recognized it immediately.
"Tou~san?" as Ranma held a strange item in his hands, he tossed it and as Sameji caught it the last Dross bolted towards her. It was a katana, as it's casing was pitch black, it flickered a moment and suddenly changed color turning instead a dark green.
"Sameji, use the sword!" screamed Ranma. Sameji hunched down and held the sword to her left side. The Dross slashed right through her, her body explodes, the Dross turned and Alex was dumbstruck. He began to take a step but his legs gave out as he fell to his knees.
"No... No!" as he begins to run forward. "I will kill you!" as he begins to swing his spear, he suddenly sees a glisten of something shiny as he stumbles to a halt. The length of the katana was sticking out of the Dross' chest. Sameji runs past Alex and slashes at the Dross decapitating it.
"Kitsune... Illusion Cut." as Sameji begins to fall over, this time Alex was right there and caught her.
"Sameji, are you alright?!" asked Alex. Sameji's helmet retracted and she smiled up at him, giving him a thumbs up.
[9:33 AM, Saint Thomas' Evangelical Church, Memorial cemetery.]
Van and Jaycen along with their uncles and cousins carry the casket of their beloved family member, they wake slowly down the gnarling cobblestone path. Passing a couple of mausoleums and the innumerable amount of tombstones. Van is grinding his teeth as his eyes burn with. He was replaying parts of her life that he was apart of, memories hurt more when you have to think of the other person in the past tense. All this think did little to stifle the feelings he was holding back. He felt a deep longing to talk to Lex, though it was obvious the conversation would be entirely one-sided. He looked over as he saw Matilda patting away her own tears with a handkerchief he had lent her, the mascara on ran down her face and this cold rain that just suddenly started didn't make this any easier.
They reached the burial ground and they set the casket down. The pastor began with some verse from Matthew and Van couldn't take it, he began to walk away as none of his relatives, not even his brother tried to stop him. He was almost out of sit when he heard footsteps coming up fast. He turned to see Matilda running to catch up with him.
"Van, are you okay?" said Matilda as he grabbed her hand and pulled her into one of the mausoleums. He pushed her up against the furthest walls rattling the resting casket. He began to passionately kiss her, as his hands groped her body. When she began to resist him he pushed himself away from her.
"What? I don't want to fucking be here! I don't want to watch Lex be dropped into the ground!" as he lunges forward and punches the casket behind Matilda. "I want to feel something... more than this, this fucking loneliness!" Matilda lightly touched Van's face. She tugged at his hair and he pushed her hard into the wall. They stared at each other a moment then fell into each other's arms both frantically kissing and groping one another. Van lifted her leg and pulled her dress up, she leaps and wraps her legs around his waist.

Van adjusts his belt as he pulls his pants up. Matilda is pulled her panties back up as she begins to fix her skirt and her hair. They look completely ambiguous to one another as he walks out without saying so much as a thanks. She does not seem to even care as she turns her left hand over and looks at the time.
He walks down the path and has a content look on his face. "I know, you know enough to... Say. I know, you know enough to... Play, the game. You want to be the one in control, in control, in control. You want to control the one that's alive. that's alive, that's alive. You want to be the one with the soul, with the soul, with the soul. It's not a matter of luck, it’s just a matter of time! Stand out on the Edge of the Earth. Dive into the center of Faith." as Van looks up and sees a Gold Eagle sitting atop a large pine. He stops and begins humming the rest of the song he was singing.
"Hey, have you ever dreamed about flying?" said a familiar voice as Van turned and was greeted by Daniel.
"Look I don't want anything you're trying to sell... I don't experiment with weird shit anymore, sorry." said Van. Daniel smirks as he takes out a pouch from behind him.
"Well, I'm a friend. Haven't you heard the call?" asked Daniel. Van looks suspicious at the older man.
"What call?" he smirks to himself. "You know I can call some friends for you mister... they wear white coats and they'll take you to a place where you'll be very happy." Daniel begins to frown as he opens the pouch and places his hand inside it. Van begins to get a little anxious. "Look, I'm kidding. I don't want any trouble okay? I just want to get by you and keep on my way."
"The Earth calls to you child. Calls for her Shaman to rise up and join together." as he pulls his hand out and blows a handful of powder at Vance, he sneezes and begins to look very groggy, he steps forward very slowly as he suddenly falls back and is out cold.
