Captain Evan Pratt
Captain's Log - Supplemental
"The meeting with the senior staff went well, and I think I made the right descisions when I chose them. They seem to be becoming friends, which is highly important on board a starship. I look foward to seeing them in action at their stations tommorow when we leave space dock. Our departure is scheduled for 0900 hours, at which point we will be proceeding to Deep Space Nine to escort the Bajoran and Cardassian delegations to the meeting on Risa. I have doubts about how wise it is bringing members of these two species this close to each other, knowing their histories, which is why I have asked Lt. Hammond to assign security details to each to avoid problems. I have also decided to spend the time until departure with Maggie and Christopher, to help them get accustomed to the ship, espicially Chris. I may alsos top by to see Luther, as he and I have had little time for our friendship since I was given this command."
Evan ended his log entry and left the ready room. He placed one of the lower ranking officers in charge of the bridge, as the senior staff was already gone, and headed off to his quarters.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Commander Luther Pegasus
Luther turned and addressed the crew members on the bridge. "You're all welcome to join us....especially you, beautiful," Luther formed a gun with his hand pointed at Katie and winked. She returned it with a scowl and a less-than-pleasant hand gesture. "And you, beautiful," He was now making the hand motion and winking at Jenisa who passed him on her way out of the Conference Room. "And you beauti-"
Luther stopped as he looked Lt. Lex in the face, who returned with a wierd look of his own. "Riiiiiiiiiiight.....Let's go."
Dr. Jenisa Scott
As she strode out of the conference room right behind Lt. Cmdr. Tal, Jenisa shook her head silently as she saw the first officer address the female members, including herself. Jenisa declined his offer "No thanks, Commander. I don't drink any kind of alcohol, especially not while on duty." She continued making her way to the turbolift.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Lieutenant Commander Zeth Tal, Ensign Katie Quinn
Katie caught up with Doctor Scott just before she entered the turbolift. "What's up, Doc?"
A pause.
"Trust me, if you knew twentieth century human animation, you'd know just how humorous that was."
Seeing Ensign Quinn catch up with her, Jenisa cocked her head quizzically upon hearing Katie's blurted out response, "It's Dr. Scott, not Doc. You must be refering to the 20th century Earth cartoon called Looney Tunes. I must admit I never did get used to the so-called humor behind the concept "
As the turbolift doors opened, Jenisa stepped in, closely followed by Ensign Quinn. "Sickbay." Jenisa gave the computer her destination. The doors swished close and the turbolift started smoothly upwards. Jenisa then contemplated the ride in silence. Seconds later, the turbolift came to a halt, the doors slid open and Jenisa exited out into the hallway. She walked into sickbay in time to hear the rather loud complaints of a junior crewman. Jenisa moved up beside the nurse, "I'll take over from here." The nurse looked relieved and left. Jenisa looked back briefly at Katie, then focused her attention on the crewman, "Wait on one of the bio-beds, I'll be over shortly."
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Commander Luther Pegasus
Luther watched as Lt. Leximal left to attend to his meeting. Seems like a nice robot, he thought. Smart one too. I'm a little disappointment that no one is going to try and challenge me here but I guess its for the best.
"Well, since Mr. Clean is gone and the server crashed, I say you and me go get that drink I mentioned before," Luther said to Lt. Hammond. "Lt. Cmdr. Tal will join us later."
Luther got out of his seat and led Lt. Hammond to the Mess Hall where they'd be able to talk about the everyday occurences of the future.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Lt. Ben Hammond
Ben nodded and acknowledged Lt. Lex's suggestion of having weapon authorisation and entry codes. He noticed then the server appeared to crash not long after Lt. Lex began to leave and told Ben to let him know if he needed help with programming the technology. He nodded, when Lt Pegasus called him on his raincheck for that drink and before Ben knew it he was already being led to the messhall.
"Alright then, I'm sure one or two drinks won't kill me, because I have to go meet my security staff later." Ben replied, smiling a little as he followed Lt Pegasus to the Mess Hall.
Once they arrived, Ben went over to the food and drink dispensing device known as the replicator and said what he wanted.
"Coffee, Black"
The computer beeped.
Specify the number of sugars
"Two." Ben responded.
The computer beeped and generated a small coffee cup with the beverage he wanted. He then sat down at a table at the Mess Hall and waited for the first officer.
"A replicator hasn't asked me that before. What's next, please select the variety of coffee beans?" Hammond noted, chuckiling a little.
------------------------------------------------------------------
Katie Quinn, Ensign Extraordinaire
Zeth Tal, Rebel Without Applause
Dr. Jenisa Scott
Seeing Ensign Quinn catch up with her, Jenisa cocked her head quizzically upon hearing Katie's blurted out response, "It's Dr. Scott, not Doc. You must be refering to the 20th century Earth cartoon called Looney Tunes. I must admit I never did get used to the so-called humor behind the concept"
"Really? You know about Looney Tunes?" Katie could not help but be shocked that the straight-laced doctor was aware of something as obscure as an old Earth cartoon, but she tried to hide it well. "You must have some eclectic tastes."
Katie spent the rest of the trip to sickbay in silence, noting that her attempts to amuse the Vulcan doctor were going to need some refining if she was ever going to see the doctor crack a smile.
One day.
Katie followed the doctor's instruction, heading to one of the medical beds in the back of the room. She stripped out of her uniform, leaving nothing to the imagination except her modesty, and hopped up onto the biobed.
A few medtechs passing by gave her curious looks, probably unused to seeing a patient actually strip naked in these days of technology and tricorders. She gave them a stern look as they passed by. "What? You're doctors; get used to it!"
Meanwhile, the fully clothed Zeth Tal was doing things elsewhere, probably in the main science lab.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
IsaBella Apollo - Captain - Second Officer
"Captain's log, the meeting went well, no one's head rolled off of their shoulders when I explained my story. It feels better not to carry a secret like that around with me. I can honestly say that this crew seems to be very accepting of the fact that I am not from this time period."
She leaned back in her seat, clasping her hands at her waist.
"I can honestly say though, the technology has not changed very much since the days I served. Protocol has, though not very much. Things tend to revolve more around team building, at least aboard the ship. We haven't left the Space Dock yet; it's beginning to feel like we never will. I don't know why it takes so long to check these ships, it didn't take this long when I headed the Dauntless."
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Dr. Jenisa Scott, the straight-faced Vulcan CMO
Once she had finished her time with the cantankerous crewman and sent him scurrying from sickbay in a hurry, Jenisa turned around to deal with Ensign Quinn, only to see her unrobe.
Without missing a beat, Jenisa walked over to the biobed where Katie was perched on, took Katie's uniform and handed it to Katie, with a stern admonishment.
"This is not a stripclub. And since you're in my sickbay, I would request that all patients, yourself included, have the common courtesy to remain clothed."
Once Jenisa was reassured that Katie had re-garbed herself, the Vulcan CMO reached for the medical tricorder that she had placed on the biobed, flipped the lid open and removed the scanner. Jenisa glanced at the tricorder, as she ran the scanner over Katie once, then replaced it into the tricorder. She moved away, "You're free to go."
-------------------------------------------------------------
Commander Pegasus
Luther walked alongside Lt. Hammond as they walked into the Mess Hall. Lt. Hammond ordered a cup of coffee with the replicator.
Lt. Ben Hammond
"A replicator hasn't asked me that before. What's next, please select the variety of coffee beans?" Hammond noted, chuckiling a little.
"Ha yeah," Luther said, as he walked to the replicator and Lt. Hammond took his seat. "Ginger Ale," he said to the machine, as it dispensed a cup of green, sparkling liquid. "Ah Ginger Ale," he said to himself. "Sparkling like soda but healthy like....whatever is in the same health category as Ginger Ale."
He took his seat in front of Lt. Hammond and took a sip of his drink. "You know this is a crazy business we're about to get into. There's alot of heavy shit that goes on out there in the space community. Its always expanding too. There's alot of room for something to go wrong. What I dont understand is how Starfleet could allow one of its members to bring his family aboard with him. I mean Captain Pratt has his wife and his son here. Even though the war is over, there's still alot going on, and I dont think its safe to have them going through all of this. I mean, I know the Captain wants them with him for comfort, but they can truly hinder him. They can become a distraction if we get into a hairy situation, and all he can think about is the safety of his family. In some ways, I guess, it could provide him with motivation, but its just not something I'd risk, ya know? How do you feel about the whole matter?"
