Welcome Mace, thank you for your time. This interview will consist of 15 questions or more.

This interview should be completed within a week, but at the same time there are a few situations that may cause delay in completion. These situations include school, work, family events, emergencies, computer problems, etc. If one occurs just let me know through this thread or via Private Message, and we can continue this interview on a later date. I will let you know if anything in my life comes up as well.

Note that personal questions will not be asked in this interview.

I think I have covered everything so let us begin :D

Your username; can you tell everyone the origin of your name? How you came up with it? Does it have a meaning to fan fic, or character you made up, or someone in Power Rangers?

Mace

The name Mace came about many a year ago when I caught the last half of a movie called Safe House with Patrick Stewart. He played and ex-goverment operative with Alzhiemer's Disease and his name was Mace, and that really stuck with me. Since then I've created several characters by the name of Mace.

Nice choice of name..

Name your top 5 favorite seasons of Power Rangers. Why are they your favorites? Did you like the villain's for these seasons? Is there anything you might slightly change about it?
If you do not have a top 5, list as many of your favorites as possible.

Mace

1) MMPR- I know it's cliche, but god I loved them. The villians were pretty good, and it's just a classic staple of my childhood

2) Ninja Storm- I like Ninjas and the Green Samurai, my favorite ranger of the season, has the same name as me, Cam. Plus they fought an evil space luchadore.

3) SPD- It had a great story line, Bridge was funny and Krueger was totally awesome. I liked that everything connected in the end, and it's one of the few seasons that didn't destroy the monsters.

4) Jungle Fury- It's a little goofy, but RJ is a really fun character. And with the inclusion of the Bat and Penguin zords, I was sold on this season.

5) I really don't have a fifth, and I don't really know which other season to pick, save Wild Force or OO, which I hated.

Karol

Awesome choices.

A great evil is loose. It's your job to construct a ranger team. Out of all the rangers available from all the different Power Ranger/Sentai seasons, which ones would you want on the team? These can be from each season and you can have whoever you like, so Five Rangers one Sixth ranger Or SPD style and have 8.
In addition, why you would chose them as well, what makes them good enough?

Mace
10-21-2008, 10:41 PM
I would go SPD Style and Have Eight Rangers. First off No Red, Red has been leader for far too long.

Adam Park- Black Ranger. He didn't really get his time to shine until Once a Ranger. Plus now when I see him I hear Ichigo from Bleach and it makes him all the more cooler.

Tommy Oliver- Green Ranger. I really like the Dragon Zord and Tommy's pretty cool.

Bridge Carson- Blue Ranger. He became the new Blue Ranger when SPD ended and he was one of my favorite characters.

Kimberly Hart- Pink Ranger. She's my favorite Pink ranger.

Lily ____- She kicks @$$, has a penguin zord, and she always had her episode cut in favor of the "strike cycle"

Now The Extras:

Cameron Watanabe- Green Samurai Ranger. Every Team needs a ninja/samurai

Anubis Cruger- SPD Shadow Ranger. He was so bad @$$ it hurts some times.

RJ _____- Jungle Fury Wolf Ranger. He is a Kung-fu master, he makes me laugh, and he was a werewolf. He is awesome.

Kewlness sounds like a great team.

Thus far which Power Ranger/Super Sentai team up has been your favorite? Why is it your favorite? What has made it your favorite? Was there anything that the team up was lacking? Explain.

Mace
10-21-2008, 10:53 PM
Well, I'd have to go with the In Space- Lost Galaxy team up and the Dino Thunder- Ninja Storm team up.

The IS/LG had the death of a ranger, albiet a temporary death, which was pretty cool. It had a Psyco Ranger, and it was overall a neat story.

The DT/NS was just more ninjas. I liked the battle in the abyss and the fact that the two villians fought. The only thing I didn't like was Lothor being left in the jar and never heard from again.

Karol
10-21-2008, 10:58 PM
You know..they could had made this really cool plot for a new season using Lothor's jar and mixing with someone else's DNA..maybe even Mesegog's if he was still alive.

In Power Rangers, we are seeing a lot more Rangers with genetic powers, which one that appeared in the show would you want and why? What would you do with it? Would you use it for personal gain? Would you tell anyone about your gift?

Mace
10-21-2008, 11:08 PM
I would have to say I would go with Multiplication. I wouldn't tell anyone, they would probably think it was my brother, Deadpool.

Also, depending on how you define personal gain, I would use this power to help people and myself. My room will be clean, I could go to multiple stores to find what I'm looking for.

Karol
10-21-2008, 11:41 PM
Haha sounds awesome..specially when you have a twin..unless they can tell you guys apart then..yeah..

Out of all the Rangers who is your favorite and why what is so great about them? Did they do anything that you really liked about them more? Would you change anything about them?

Mace
10-21-2008, 11:56 PM
If you look really close at us you can tell, I have more facial hair, but from behind or a distance we look alike.

My favorite Ranger would be Anubis Cruger. He was an honarble man, a good leader, and he doesn't always play by the rules. He had a cool sword and he had a truck.

Karol
10-22-2008, 12:00 AM
Yeah but I mean..your mom will be like.."hey didn't I just see you in the kitchen 3 seconds ago?" lol..cool choice.

Do you watch any Sentai? If so do you like to watch some before a new season of PR starts? Which Sentai seasons have you seen? What is there about Sentai that you like that you wished they would do in PR?
If you have not seen any Sentai, would you like to? If not, why?

Mace
10-22-2008, 12:12 AM
She actually says that already, I'm kind of a grazer due to my ADD, so some times I eat when bored. (I'm trying to cut back.)

I've seen all of Magiranger, five episodes of Bokenger, 80% of Gekiranger and only one episode of Go0onger.. I actually own the complete series of Gekiranger on DVD. I only watched Gekiranger prior to Jungle Fury only because I was curious. And I wouldn't ask for Sentai and Power Rangers to be the same, I like to see how the U.S. does things. I don't want to watch 48 episodes of a Japanese show only to see them done word for word in English. PR and Sentai are two different shows and should stay that way. Actually, now that I think about it, If PR could keep the spotlight episodes on everyone (i.e. not cutting Lily's development in JF in order to show the strike rider.).

Karol
10-22-2008, 12:20 AM
Yeah..I guess there's a big problem with the amount of episodes that keeps getting smaller.

What is the earliest Power Rangers memory you have? Was it watching the show? Getting some PR merchandise? What was it that made you keep watching?

Mace
10-22-2008, 12:27 AM
It was back during the Great War... wait, no it wasn't.

The memory that sits most in my mind is a Chritmas memory. I was still a wee lad and my brother and I both were wearing our Red Ranger feetie pajamas and we opened up a big package. It was a hoover vaccum box filled with the Rangers and monster figures from MMPR.

God, now I feel old. Also I wish they still made figues of the monsters.

Karol
10-22-2008, 12:35 AM
Lol, don't worry, that one makes us all feel old.

SPD gave us our first female red ranger, yet she was evil. What are your thoughts and feelings of having a female red ranger leading the main team? Leading the side of good. What are your thoughts and feeling of having a female lead the main team for an entire season? Would you like to see another female red ranger? Do you think having one would go well with the fans? Do you think it would go well with the marketed audience (little kids)? Do you think it would go well with hard core fans (members of discussion boards)? Do you think Disney should make the next red ranger female even though in Sentai the ranger is male? Do you think they should wait for Sentai? Explain.

Mace
10-22-2008, 01:08 AM
Well the fact that she was evil is proof alone that women shouldn't be Red Rangers.

Psych!

God could you imagine if I was really like that. No, I think that it would be neat, but I really don't care that much. I never really cared that much about the red ranger. I think if either were to do it, it would be okay.

Karol
10-22-2008, 01:12 AM
-.- If you were like that we would probably be fighting right now..or me saying no comment lol.

Did you like the fact of the original rangers leaving? Did it make you sad to see them go? Or were you happy about it? What did you think of the replacements? And what did you think about the rest leaving in later on in Turbo? What are your thoughts about this?

Mace
10-22-2008, 01:28 AM
I don't remember how I felt when the original three left, but when every one else left it made sense, these guys can't be rangers forever. Replacinf Ranger just makes sense

Karol
10-23-2008, 03:52 AM
Which villains in Power Rangers do you like the most? Which ones do you hate the most and why? Which Villain do you think beat the rangers more then any other one? Which one do you think would have been better in another season for example the villain in SPD might have been better in IS.

Mace
10-23-2008, 10:11 PM
I liked Rita and Zedd, they were both viable threats, but as time went on they became huge jokes.

I loathe the Overdrive Villains. Just thinking about them fills me with such rage that it almost make me want to hurt someone.

I think Grumm beat SPD many times, the fact that he managed to destroy planets, get an inside man in SPD, cause multiple instances of chaos, held Cruger's Wife hostage for years, hell the man managed to get on earth without anyone noticing.

I wouldn't move any villians. They all seemed well suited for their seasons.

Karol
10-24-2008, 02:44 AM
It was extremely hard for me to keep up with the OO they had too much -.-

Do you like when a ranger team starts off with 5 and eventually is joined by a 6th ranger? Or do you like it when a team starts with 3 and eventually is joined by two or more? Explain within detail the one you prefer

Mace
10-27-2008, 07:40 PM
I never really cared that much about the number of starter rangers. As far as I'm concerned as long as there is at least one good ranger I'm content.

Karol
10-28-2008, 12:32 AM
Fair enough :p

What aspect of Power Rangers is your favorite? (The posing, Zords, helmets, etc?)

Mace
10-28-2008, 01:55 AM
I would have to say it's a tie between the Zords and the storylines. I like giant robots, but there needs to be a story behind it.

Karol
10-29-2008, 01:23 AM
If you could create a Power Ranger season what kind of PR would you have, where would it be set, what year, what color be the leader, how many rangers? What would the villain be like?

Mace
11-06-2008, 01:22 AM
I would do something similar to Jungle Fury. It would be set somewhere other than California in the year 2010. There would be three started rangers with three bonus rangers. There would be no diffinitive leader, but each ranger would take charge based on what the situation was. The villian would probably be a giant Yokai overloard.

Karol
11-06-2008, 06:31 PM
That sounds pretty good, I like the fact of not having a particular leader.

If you could create a Power Ranger team made up of Villains who and why?

Mace
11-12-2008, 07:57 PM
1) Goldar- He seems like a natural leader.
2) Jindrax- One of the only good things about WF.
3) Lothor- Space Luchadore, nuf said.
4) Genral Snapper- He really didn't get to do much in his season.
5) Morticon- Same as Snapper, I want to see what they can do.

Karol
11-12-2008, 10:07 PM
Nice mix

If you could make an adult version of PR more grown up so you could have more action and blood or swearing, what would you do to make it more for an older audience and what season would like to make as an mature season for adults? Also would you re-cast the same cast or pick new people?

Mace
11-12-2008, 10:15 PM
I wouldn't add more action, but the rangers would take damage. I think the Rangers come out of their battle far too intact. I would also cover how being a ranger effects the civilian lives. The Villians would have no problem with attacking the rangers' loved ones.

Karol
11-13-2008, 03:39 AM
If you where asked to be a ranger in real life, which Villain would you want to battle, which PR outfit, which Ranger, which mentor and where about’s would you set it?

Mace
11-19-2008, 01:14 AM
I would want to battle Lothor because almost all of his men were criminally incompetant and would probably be easy for me to beat. I would use the Jungle Fury Wolf Ranger outfit, with RJ as my mentor. It would be set in my hometown of Des Plaines Il.

Karol
11-19-2008, 01:24 AM
Interesting how you mixed NS and JF.

Ok if you were a villain in PR, what kind of villain would you be? Would you have any powers?
Also we all know Villains always lose but in this case you will win, so what is your plan for destroying the Power Rangers and also which team would you like to destroy?

Mace
11-19-2008, 01:36 AM
I would be a villian who is an ancient evil mage, but have since become a person of power in the town the rangers protected. I would try and find ways to villainize the rangers and drive a wedge between the rangers and those they save. I would also threaten the rangers in their civilian lives and force one the rangers to be my pawn. I would love to destroy Wild Force.

Karol
11-19-2008, 09:06 PM
Nice strategy

For you to think about, you think being red ranger, in other words leader, is decided by gender and/or looks, or by capacity, leadership, and/or by a good heart?

Mace
11-20-2008, 12:07 AM
I think reluctance is the deciding factor. With the exception of Mack, almost every Red Ranger in the past few years has been reluctant to be a ranger. It's the whole "Rookie Red" idea.

Karol
11-21-2008, 11:11 PM
Would you ever like to see a ranger go evil? Like is the villain in a new season?
If so which one and why? What do you think would make a ranger want to be a bad guy and fight for evil?
Or a ranger chose the side of evil half way though and season and stick with it, like they where betrayed or something else?

Mace
12-29-2008, 10:26 PM
I think it would be an interesting twist. I would like to see the Red Ranger go evil.

With Red, i'd like to see magic change Red evil halfway through the season. Here's the set-up:

The Rangers have just suffered a major loss, one ranger is in serious condition. Red becomes obsessed with becoming stronger by anymeans. He starts down a dark path that ends with him losing his ranger powers. A new Red is selected and Old Red's transfomation to evil becomes complete. He becomes an evil red ranger, seperate from the series main villian. Evil Red will spend most of his time trying to destroy his replacement. He would wear his original uniform, but in a darker red.

In the Finale, he realizes that he's become that which sought to defeat and sacrifices himself in an attempt to stop the series' main villain. Shortly before his death, his colors will change back from Dark Red to good red.

Which Power Rangers season had the best opening to a season and ending? What makes a good opening and Ending in your opinion?
