Has the Kamen Rider franchise been going downhill since Den-O?

I agree with wr, the kamen rider series have been very strong in these past years, not only with den o but also kabuto and ryuki.

As for kiva, its a good story, granted i kinda hate wataru, but it's giving us some great moments

Wataru's awesome! It was Ryotaro that was boring!

I don't think it's gone downhill.It's a shame we didn't get a Kabuto teamup because that was left REALLY weirdly. With Den-O it's just "eeeh...Naomi,original Hana,Oozaki
and Miura need more screentime or need to come back". In fact in the last Den-O movie they should have Kohana turn back into regular Hana because she only needs to do a couple of seconds and then Den-O's over.

Her name is just Hana. Kohana is her name to others who don't know about the whole time traveling train thing crap what ever err... Anyways, they seem to using Den-o a whole lot. Kiva is half way threw and they are STILL pumping out Den-o movies. dang...

Well how are you supposed to differentiate the two different versions?

I wish I could tell you if it gone downhill, but I haven't seen any Kamen Rider series since Saban's Masked Rider.

I don't think it's been going downhill. Kiva's a pretty strong show. Den-O was a strong show until episode 33.

Well its only been half a season after den-o and like most seasons its takes a bit for the story to really get going. after seeing the latest episode i just can not wait for the next one to come out because its just getting really interesting.

I don't think it did, but I see what you mean. In my opinion Hibiki (although technically not really a Kamen Rider series) and Kabuto were top-notch. With Den-O they seemed to take a new approach with a clumsy and inexperienced man who's nowhere near hero-like to be the main Rider. Also with Den-O the real story behind it all was hard to follow at times. While the same kind of character is introduced in Kiva it seems the story is still deep, but easier to understand (and remember) IMO. However they both seem less mature than Kabuto. I'd say we see the same in Sentai. Maybe Japan is getting a bit stricter regarding kidshows (either their government or their community of mothers...). I'm glad Wataru developed to be stronger and more confident and really shows he fights by himself rather than infused power from Imagin in Den-O, but I still feel a more confident (maybe over-confident) character should be starring in the next series for a change.

There has only been one season since Den O and that season isnt even finished yet. I think it is wayyy to early to even bring up this question.

It's all what your opinions is... I wasn't much a fan of Den-O, and Kiva... I've been more of a fan of the older stuff, but I agree with Rage on his opinion of KR... and I am a big fan of Hibiki. I do have to say that it seems like Japan is just becoming more strict with there regulations on children's shows idk, but all you can do is hope for the best and suspend disbelief, because it is a kids show as much as we'd like to admit otherwise... but I will always continue to be a fan regardless.

Really? It seems OK to me. Kamen Rider Saga impales the Fangire straight through!

Well, there's always going be a little more violence in KR... but like in the Old KR, they showed blood at least a decent amount of time... best examples being Amazon (who would tear his opponents to nothing more then pulp )and BLACK (who just liked to karate chop arms, wings, pretty much every extremity off), of course, those series are campy by today's standards but... things just seem more held back, imo, for the most part.
