Lets see if you are just like the merc with a mouth then?
So Deadpool welcome to your interview even though we've done one before I think.....
Anyway have fun.........again :p
This interview should be completed within a week, but at the same time there are a few situations that may cause delay in completion. These situations include school, work, family events, emergencies, computer problems, etc. If one occurs just let me know through this thread or via Private Message, and we can continue this interview on a later date. I will let you know if anything in my life comes up as well.
Note that personal questions will not be asked in this interview.
I think I have covered everything so let us begin.
Your username; can you tell everyone the origin of your name? Why did you chose that character? Do you think you are smilar to that character in anyway?
Deadpool
10-03-2008, 04:34 AM
Where did I get my Username? Well, It was during my thrid journey in the congo. I was being guided by a young native lad named Combatu and he-Wait a second, that story has nothing to do with the question. Now then, back to the topic at hand. My Username comes from the Merc with a Mouth, The Crimson Comedian, The Regeneratin' Degenerate, Wade Wilson, Also Called By Those Who Know Him As Deadpool.
Why did I chose him? Well, honestly, I was pretty uninterested in Marvel comics for the last few years. I would get an issue of Ultimate Spider-Man or Ultimate X-Men, or maybe a few other titles, but nothing long term. However, I was getting food one day at a local 7-11 and i was looking at there selection of comics and I saw an issue of Cable and Deadpool. I bought it so to have something to read. And from that moment forward, I was hooked. He quickly became my favorite marvel character ever. Granted, he didn't become my all time favorite comic book character (that honor goes to Conner Kent, Superboy). He was everything I wanted in a character. He was flawed, yet still able to joke about himself and his situation. He played by his own rules he was so totally bad ass.
That was probably more than you needed, but I'm very passionate about my Deadpool (and Superboy).
I do think that I'm similar to Deadpool in the fact that I've killed numerous amounts of people and have felt little remorse and made a decent amout of coin at the same time. No, honestly, I'm only a little like Wade. I'm kinda sarcastic and I enjoy random pop culture references. But unfortunately, the similarites end there.

lol what the hell the first sentace so random XD
Superboy - DC right, never really read any dc mainly stick to marvel, take it his a good character then.
Name your top five favourite seasons of Power Rangers. Why are they your favourites? Did you like the villain's for these seasons? Is there anything you might slightly change about it?
If you do not have a top 5, list as many of your favourites as possible.
Deadpool

He was an interesting character. Superboy was a clone of Superman. He came out during the Death of Superman period. He was the first teen hero I was exposed to and I loved him so.
Top 5 seasons?
5) Jungle Fury. I think that honestly it has a lot of stuff going for it. I think that when you look at the stuff they are doing for this season it really shows that they have some guts. I think that they tried too hard with overdrive and that's why most of the stuff failed horribly. But this time they're just doing whatever and its turning out quite well. I think that the characters have fantastic playability with eachother. Honestly, they all bring out the best in each other as far as acting goes. They play off of each other so well that it has me interested not only in the characters as a group, but as individuals as well. If I can't like the entire group, chances are I'm not gonna find anything I like about any of them.
4) Ninja Storm. I think that ninjas are really cool. Overplayed in today's society. But cool nonetheless. Also, Ninja Storm was a fun season. It had some really fun moments and the main villain was a Space Luchadore.
3) Lost Galaxy. I think that it was a great post-script to the Zordon saga. It was great to see it take place not on earth, but on a space station. There was no escaping to space or to a power center, there was no established mentor, it was just the rangers coming together to stop evil cause it was do or die. LG showed us for the first time that Rangers do die. Granted, Kendrix came back at the end, but her death was still there. The rangers still had to deal with losing a teammate. Plus, the rangers were ordinary people who stepped up to save the world.
2) SPD. I love how large the SPD universe was. It had so many possiblities. There could be as many rangers as the imagination could allow. Also, it wasn't about the best choices for Rangers becoming rangers or just some random kids becoming rangers. It was "Oh Hey. Our Best Team Of Rangers Just Went Off The Map. Better Bring In A New Team." They were placeholders. I also loved the open ending of it. Most teams end with the powers being destroyed and good being defeated. The Rangers job is done. They beat the evil and they don't need the power anymore. But that wasn't the case for SPD. They were still rangers at the end. The power wasn't destroyed, in fact, It was still needed! Plus the dynamic of the characters were all fantastic. They covered a wide range of basic archetypes but really showed them grow and change into some well balanced characters. Even the characters you hated you could find something good about.
1) MMPR. I know its a cliche. But I love it. It brought me into the fandom. Oh god...I just admitted to being a part of a fandom....I feel dirty....Anyhoo, MMPR was just so bad that it was good. I watch it and wonder,' How did I watch this?' And I still don't know the answer. Maybe its nostolgia, maybe its something else. But I think that it set everything up. It established the staples of Power Ranger Mythos. Also, it gave them a reason to improve. It was a diamond in the rough that got better as they cleaned and shaped into the various different versions of the Zordon Saga. I think that it was a ground breaking children's show as it has survived as a live action kids show from Saturday mornings in a world dominated by Yugi-oh and Pokemon.

I wonder if you can buy that as a graphic novel, hmmmm might have to check it out, is that when Doomsday kills Superman???
A great evil is loose. It's your job to construct a ranger team. Out of all the rangers available from all the different Power Ranger/Sentai seasons, which ones would you want on the team? These can be from each season and you can have whoever you like, so Five Rangers one Sixth ranger Or SPD style and have 8.
In addition, why you would chose them as well, what makes them good enough?
Deadpool
10-07-2008, 10:04 PM
Superman is killed by Doomsday in The Death of Superman Trade. Superboy makes his first appearance alongside Steel, The Cyborg Superman and The Eradicator in the Reign of the Supermen Trade.
Red Ranger: Carter. He got the job done. He was the leader and he led the team. He was a no nonsense guy.
Blue Ranger: Maddison. She was calm cool and collected. She never gave up and she always believed in her freinds and herself. She's a smart one.
Yellow Ranger: Lily. I think she's got a lot of heart. And thats what I think when I think Yellow Ranger. She's got to be the balance. Yellow is the balanced ranger. Plus, she is probably the most compentent of the core Jungle Fury Rangers.
Black Ranger: Zach. Cause the dudes just so cool. He would bring a little bit of style to the team.
Green Ranger: Bridge. He's silly. I mean, every team needs and eccentric genius right? Bridge is the perfect example of that.
Bonus Rangers:
Tommy as the White Ranger. I think that the white ranger suit is one of the slickest looks. It really stood out compared to the other ranger suits (for a good reason of course...)
Anubis Cruger as SPD Shadow Ranger. Kicks Some Ass. End of Story.
Kat Manx as SPD Cat Ranger. I love Kat. Honestly and Truely. She's amazing and I wanted to see her kick more ass than she was allowed to.
I'm gonna squeeze one more in and go with
The Magna Defender. I'm going with the non-mike version since I want him and not Mike. Magna Defender is a man with a past who seeks to avenge his lost family. There's a lot to work with there as far as character development and I wish they had done more with it.
Pinkranger
10-10-2008, 11:03 PM
See I need to get into more DC comics now.
Nice list Doggie he is just awesome, and he did kick ass and his ranger suit was badass.
Thus far which Power Ranger/Super Sentai team up has been your favourite? Why is it your favourite? What has made it your favourite? Was there anything that the team up was lacking? Explain.
Deadpool
10-13-2008, 06:17 PM
You know, at one point I probably had a favorite team up. However, right now, I don't really have a favorite. I think that a lot of the team-ups take place after one team has lost their powers and some how they get them back through a deus ex machina of sorts. I think that some have done betterw with that than others, but for the most part, I don't really care about them.
Pinkranger
10-14-2008, 09:18 PM
I think once you've seen them over and over it gets boring lol.
In Power Rangers, we are seeing a lot more Rangers with genetic powers, which one that appeared in the show would you want and why? What would you do with it? Would you use it for personal gain? Would you tell anyone about your gift?
Deadpool
10-14-2008, 09:56 PM
Honestly, I wouldn't want a genetic power. I mean, if I get to be a power ranger, that's awesome enough. If I had both a genetic power and was a ranger? I don't want that kinda possible karma backlash.
But if I had to pick one, It would probably be the sonic scream. Now granted, the most famous users of said power are females (Kira from DT and Black Canary from DC Comics) but that doesn't mean a dude can't use them. I would fight crime I think. I mean, I wouldn't want to be a villain, and I think that it would be cool to save the day. Personal gain? maybe just a little. Nothing big. Just minor revenge. I probably would tell someone. But swear them to a life oath. They tell, they die. end of story.
Pinkranger
10-14-2008, 10:14 PM
Love your new avvy, muppets are coolio.
Out of all the Rangers who is your favourite and why what is so great about them? Did they do anything that you really liked about them more? Would you change anything about them?
Deadpool
10-14-2008, 10:16 PM
Thanks. The Muppets are fantastic. Especially Beaker.
I would go with Bridge. Cause I love the funny guys and Bridge was the perfect funny guy. He could kick some ass, make em laugh and then go make some toast. But only if it was Buttery.
Pinkranger
10-15-2008, 11:14 PM
I think the sound that muppet made is funny but cute lol
Do you watch any Sentai? If so do you like to watch some before a new season of PR starts? Which Sentai seasons have you seen? What is there about Sentai that you like that you wished they would do in PR?
If you have not seen any Sentai, would you like to? If not, why?
Deadpool
10-16-2008, 04:39 PM
I've watched a couple sentai seasons. I've seen Mahou Sentai Magiranger. Most of Jyuken Sentai Gekiranger and The first twenty episodes or so of Engine Sentai Go-Onger.
I don't really care if I've seen them before I see the new season of PR Because I really do see SS and PR as two separate entities. There are moments where I compare the PR to the SS if I've seen the SS, but for the most part I commend PR for doing something different.
I would like to see a little more Character spotlights. I mean, in SS there are a lot of episodes where they'll focus on one particular member of the team. I think that they do that to an extent in PR, however, they tend to somehow take away from the spotlight. The most recent example would be an episode of Jungle Fury. It was the first of the Five Venoms arc, Rantipede. The corresponding episode in Gekiranger was all about the Yellow Ranger, Ran. Now the JF episode also did a bit of focus on Lily, however, it also trimmed a whole lot of possible character spotlight for her. The episode of Geki shows Ran training really hard to beat Rantipede, however, it wasn't quite as intense in JF. And then they had to kill Lily's thunder even more by using that stupid Strike Cycle business.

Well Deadpool, seems that Blondy is dealing with some personal problems and I'm not sure when she's going to be back, whether tomorrow or next week..so I'll take care of her interviews in the mean while..hope it's alright..Sowy for the delay.
What is the earliest Power Rangers memory you have? Was it watching the show? Getting some PR merchandise? What was it that made you keep watching?
Deadpool
10-21-2008, 10:54 PM
Well, I wish her the best during whatever problems she's having.
My earliest memory? Probably the christmas that I got a crap-load of PR toys. I rembering wearing my MMPR Red Ranger zip-up, footy pajamas and my brother and I just tearing open this huge box full of rangers and monsters.
Karol
10-21-2008, 10:57 PM
:) Thanks, I'll let her know as soon as I talk to her. Haha awesome...full pr closet.
SPD gave us our first female red ranger, yet she was evil. What are your thoughts and feelings of having a female red ranger leading the main team? Leading the side of good. What are your thoughts and feeling of having a female lead the main team for an entire season? Would you like to see another female red ranger? Do you think having one would go well with the fans? Do you think it would go well with the marketed audience (little kids)? Do you think it would go well with hard core fans (members of discussion boards)? Do you think Disney should make the next red ranger female even though in Sentai the ranger is male? Do you think they should wait for Sentai? Explain.
Deadpool
10-21-2008, 11:08 PM
A female leader would be great. A Female red would be fantastic. I wouldn't mind if either happened. However, I don't think that they will. Honestly, PR is marketed towards boys. I've never seen a PR tshirt hanging next to a High School Musical T-shirt at Target. I've never seen a Megazord sitting next to the Barbie Dream Car.
As for reactions it breaksdown like this:
The Target Demographic: Either they don't care, or they're confused. But honestly, I don't think they would care very much.
Hardcore Fans/ Members of discussion boards: It could go a variety of ways.
1) They are interested and intrigued by this new development. They think that maybe this is a breath of fresh air.
2) They dislike it and act reasonably about it. They either stop watching or just keep their dislike to themselves. Or even share theire dislike, but respect the fact that others may like it.
3) They make total asses of themselves by being jerks who think that it is a dumb idea and that anyone who disagrees is dumb too. They complain that Disney is raping their childhoods by destroying power rangers. event though there is nothing of the sort going on. Its a different show. You're a big boy now. Get over it.
Honestly, I think that if disney wants to do it, they should go for it, sentai or not.
Karol
10-21-2008, 11:40 PM
It would be sooo awesome..but you're right with all that marketing stuff.
Did you like the fact of the original rangers leaving? Did it make you sad to see them go? Or were you happy about it? What did you think of the replacements? And what did you think about the rest leaving in later on in Turbo? What are your thoughts about this?
Deadpool
10-22-2008, 04:54 PM
You know, the original rangers leaving was something that really didn't effect me. Why? Because I honest can't remember how I felt. I don't think I cared that they left. Now, when I think about it today, storywise, I think its a little weak since it was still pretty early. But I think that it was well covered. Its a little sour a taste once you find out why exactly they were written off since it came down to not wanting to pay the actors more money. But that's life.
When they left it Turbo? Honestly, I in my phase of being more or less done with PR when Turbo was on. I caught a few episodes, but never enought to really form an opinion. When I think of it nowadays, I still don't care. I think that honestly it was a little weaker a cover. Oh hey, we want to leave, so we're gonna find some new guys who have never fought an evil alien invasion and leave it up to them. Pretty weak. If you're the most experienced protectors of earth, then that should be your primary focus. Not college.
Karol
10-22-2008, 09:10 PM
True..
Which villains in Power Rangers do you like the most? Which ones do you hate the most and why? Which Villain do you think beat the rangers more then any other one? Which one do you think would have been better in another season for example the villain in SPD might have been better in IS.
Deadpool
10-23-2008, 12:01 AM
Rita and Zedd were the best villains. It might take a little to see it, but they were good. If you strip away all the slapstick and goofiness that was there to inact the Poetic Justice to the show, you would see that they're bad. I mean never once has any team ever needed to get new powers to defeat the same enemy. Rita and Zedd destoyed the original megazord. The rangers needed new powers to beat them.
I hated the overdrive villains. There were so many but every single one was horribly incompetent.
I don't think that I would move villains around. keep em where they're at.
Karol
10-23-2008, 01:57 AM
W00t, I'm not the only one that thinks like that about PROO..
Do you like when a ranger team starts off with 5 and eventually is joined by a 6th ranger? Or do you like it when a team starts with 3 and eventually is joined by two or more? Explain within detail the one you prefer
Deadpool
10-23-2008, 06:42 PM
Honestly, either one is fine. It simply depends on the team dynamic that you are going for.
I think that having Dino Thunder, Ninja Storm and Jungle Fury start off with 3 rangers was good. It gave you some good character development, it shows you the characters growning and it really can be fun. It can show off characters a little more easily since you don't have a ton of people, allowing spotlight episodes.
On the other hand, a large team allows for a richer character dynamic. When you get a larger team together, you get more differing personalities. You can get more conflicts because you could be differing with 3-4 other people rather than one or two. Also, it give more choices for favorite characters or rangers. I personally love SPD because it has such a large cast of characters.
Karol
10-24-2008, 02:32 AM
What aspect of Power Rangers is your favorite? (The posing, Zords, helmets, etc?)
Deadpool
10-24-2008, 05:56 PM
Honestly, I'm not sure what my favorite part is. Maybe its the fact that its one of the few live, action show for kids. Part of it is the costumes and zords. and Some of it is seeing that this show has gone one, without any missing years, since I was but a wee lad. I enjoy the new fresh takes on PR and I think it's just a fun show.
Karol
10-24-2008, 10:29 PM
So pretty much everything :p
If you could create a Power Ranger season what kind of PR would you have, where would it be set, what year, what color be the leader, how many rangers? What would the villain be like?
Deadpool
10-26-2008, 03:40 AM
The setting for it would be anywhere by California. Maybe someplace unexpected like Wyoming. I mean, Wyoming is the least populated state in America. No one would expect and attack there.
I've been toying around with a team of Rangers who more or less die in the first episode. The premise is that the rangers are the living re-encarnations of 5 spirit/ghost warriors who gave their lives to save the Spirit World. Now the Demon King and his forces have taken the spirit kingdom, only to now set sights on the living world.
There would be 5 starters with an extra ranger, who starts as their ghostly mentor. The leader would be the Black ranger and the 2nd in command would be the Green ranger.
Aside from Demons, I don't have much else.
One cool thing (I think) is that if the rangers physical bodies die, then they can't return to their body after they beat the Demon King...that is, IF they beat him...
Karol
10-26-2008, 05:37 PM
If you could create a Power Ranger team made up of Villains who and why?
Deadpool
10-30-2008, 04:10 PM
1)Zedd- I just like Zedd.
2)Lothor- Space Luchadore, plus, I think him and Zedd would have some enjoyable interactions.
3)Diabolico- The dude just wouldn't give up, even after he was destroyed.
4)Broodwing-He has the best toys.
5)Jindrax-Every team needs a joker

Hey Merc with a mouth! I am back and ready to take over interviews once more, hope your all well.
Ironman came out this week, the cover is sic, I'll get a picture up for you I love it!
If you could make an adult version of PR more grown up so you could have more action and blood or swearing, what would you do to make it more for an older audience and what season would like to make as an mature season for adults? Also would you re-cast the same cast or pick new people?
Deadpool
11-05-2008, 02:15 PM
Sorry I've been such a deadbeat about answering. Lot's going on.
For a more mature PR? I wouldn't say that adding action, blood or swearing would be a good idea. For a more mature version I would put a little more focus on the civilian life. One thing that I loved about MMPR and that I notice about a lot of PR Rps, is that there is this aspect of life outside of being rangers. I would do a show that plays up the need for a balance between being a Defender of The Entire World and having to find time to Study For A Final or Go Out And Date. I think that if you play the people over the powers, then you get a much more engaging program.
However, I would play up some better action. Just make it more realistic. Perhaps thats what I really want, and added layer of realism. Make them real people, coming together to save the world. Given a secret power that means they need to balance everything.
Pinkranger
11-06-2008, 11:48 PM
It is nice to see them trying to live a double life, all depends one the rangers age eg if there at school/college, if not give them a job or like you said go out and meet people try a date etc.
If you where asked to be a ranger in real life, which Villain would you want to battle, which PR outfit, which Ranger, which mentor and where about’s would you set it?
Deadpool
11-08-2008, 08:01 PM
I would want to fight Broodwing. I would totally be the Mighty Morphin Black Ranger. As a Mentor? I think that I would want to be mentored by Master Mao. As for the setting? I think that I would put it based in Chicago (the area I'm from) and have it move throughout. Make it more than just one location for the fights.
Pinkranger
11-08-2008, 11:09 PM
Ok if you were a villain in PR, what kind of villain would you be? Would you have any powers?
Also we all know Villains always lose but in this case you will win, so what is your plan for destroying the Power Rangers and also which team would you like to destroy?
Deadpool
11-13-2008, 12:40 AM
I would be a villain known to the Rangers, but the masses wouldn't know the true depth of my villainous deeds. I wouldn't have any genetic powers. However, I would don a suit of armor much like Dr. Doom. The suit would be filled with all sorts of goodies that could put me toe to toe with any battlizer or secondary form. To beat them? Divide and Conquer. The rangers are strong as individuals, but their true strength lies as a unit. I would have an agent infiltrate either the team itself or their circle of friends and use them to create a sense of distrust between them. The team? probably Lightspeed or SPD. They would fit in best with the tackling a situation through teamwork.
Pinkranger
11-13-2008, 10:09 PM
Kind of like an evil ironman then, no superpowers but a powerful suit.
For you to think about, you think being red ranger, in other words leader, is decided by gender and/or looks, or by capacity, leadership, and/or by a good heart?
Deadpool
11-16-2008, 10:10 PM
Well, I think that Red is often casted by gender. I think that the leadership role is therefore casted by gender since Red is always team leader.
For me, it's not about gender or color, but for overall qualifications. You can't just walk onto a team and say, 'I'm Red. I'm Leader'. It's a load of bull. Now if you can come in, make some good calls, and act like a real leader, then you can do what you want. You just have to back it up. You can't just talk, you gotta walk.
Now I think that you also have to deal with the responsibilities of being a leader. If the team fails, you fail. End of story. It might not have been directly your screw up, but as the leader, you needed to have considered the possibilites that something may go wrong. Also, the leader of the team needs to be that person at all times. They can't just be the Leader when morphed up or in a combat situation. They need to be leader 24/7. They have to be ready to go from enjoying the sun, to calculating how to destroy a 30 story monster in a matter of seconds. Plus you need to properly reflect the team. You get a say, but you don't have the only say. You have to be ready to let yourself be rejected by the team. You have the responsibility to represent the team. As leader, you need to be the best of the best in any situation, or, at the very least, always strive to do so.
Another part is recognizing limits. Just because you're a ranger doesn't mean you can't get hurt or killed. You need to know you're strengths and weaknesses you need to know when to lead and when to follow.
Pinkranger

Thats like a Scott Summers answere XD
Would you ever like to see a ranger go evil? Like is the villain in a new season?
If so which one and why? What do you think would make a ranger want to be a bad guy and fight for evil?
Or a ranger chose the side of evil half way though and season and stick with it, like they where betrayed or something else?
Deadpool
11-18-2008, 10:07 PM
I would love to see a ranger go rogue halfway through. I think that if you have a celebrated hero suddenly change it up, then it changes the entire dynamic of everything. Also, they never say that the powers will only work if you are using them for good. I think that it could be interesting to see a ranger betray the team because they feel that they have been wronged or even that they no longer feel that what they are doing is the right thing. But I would absolutely love to see a ranger reveal that he was evil the whole time. I mean, if he was to just suddenly come forth and say "Hey, I'm Evil. Have Been The Whole Time. Everything We Went Through Means Nothing To Me." It would be huge! The rangers are always a team that as the show goes they become closer and closer. Usually by the halfway point they are a pretty close bunch. And it would be a huge set back for them to find out that they've felt feelings that really were just to hurt them in the long run.
Also, I'd like to see the evil ranger be totally unrepentant. Even if he isn't destroyed, he would do it all again. The other aspect would maybe be having and evil ranger, who like all other evil rangers, becomes good, makes the connections, and then reveals that its been a trick. That they were just infiltrating them to get to know them to have a greater emotional hold on them. it would be sweet.

Which Power Rangers season had the best opening to a season and ending? What makes a good opening and Ending in your opinion?
Deadpool
11-21-2008, 05:34 PM
I think that In Space had a really good opening, at least for the Zordon Saga. It had the rangers leaving earth to try and find a new power. They had no power, no command center and their mentor was gone. They were driven from Earth. When they returned to Earth? It was in the stages of being conquered totally. And by that turn, it had a really good ending. It had the rangers, outnumbered and out gunned. They were in trouble, but the civilians, the normal citizens of Angel Grove saved their saviors by standing with them and proclaim that they were all Power Rangers. It showed that the various teams of the Zordon Saga had the greatest power of all, the Power to Inspire. It also ended with the sacrifice of Zordon. He gave his life in an attempt to purge the evil from the world. Wonderful.
For independent season, I think that the best opening is....Maybe...I'm Not Sure Actually....
For independent season, the best closing is SPD in my opinion. I think that they pulled out the stops for that one. They brought everybody, even SGT. Silverback! They had to really push forward to beat Omni. And I enjoyed it.

Is there an episode of Power Rangers that you do not like? Or is there something else in PR that annoys you?
Deadpool
01-08-2009, 06:22 PM
sorry about being such a deadbeat. Hopefully we can get this back on track.
To answer the question, yes. There are plenty of episodes that I don't like. I can't name any or really describe them off the top of my head, but I know that I don't like them and when I see them, I can identify.
There are lots of things in PR that annoy me. The lack of serious and deep character development is one thing. They seem to do occasional spotlight episodes, but you never get to see the characters outside of rangering. You get to see them as civillians, but you don't get to see them interacting with other civillians. You just get nameless, faceless citizens and the occasional young lad to challenge the red ranger. I really want to see more characters that never learn the ranger's identities and talk to them when they are interacting with normal people.
