RangerTalk Rules
Rules
1. Registering and starting stages on the board
1.1.: No more than one account a person.
1.1.1.:Contact us if you want to share your computer with another (to be) member.
1.2.: By registering, you agree to our rules.
1.3.: Names should be following our language rules and shouldn't be to imitate someone else.
1.4.: Email addresses should be valid and up-to-date at all time.
2. Posting
2.1.: Flaming, bashing and fighting is not allowed. Doesn't matter who started.
2.1.1.: Provoking flaming, bashing and fighting is not allowed.
2.2.: You should be able to write a language understandably. This board is not an English board.
2.2.1.: Your grammar and spelling in whatever language you use should be correct. Texting language and similar mutations are not allowed.
2.2.2.: Cursing is allowed, as long as it is not overdone and not directed to anyone.
2.3.: Be polite.
2.4.: Don't spam. This includes Advertising outside the Advertisement Section.
2.4.1.: Double posting is allowed when the pervious post is more than 24 hours old and the post adds something. If it is posted before the 24 hour limit is over a Mod will merge them (without any infraction). If it doesn't add anything it'll be considered spam and handled by rule 2.4.
2.5.: Be careful and respectful when discussing a delicate subject like religion or politics.
2.5.1.: No adult themed talk (sex and violence on adult level).
2.5.2.: Other boards are not allowed to be discussed.
2.6.: Threads larger than 1000 posts are closed and a new thread opened by a staff member.
2.7.: Don't make up rumours. If you're caught making stuff up or are too unclear whether what you say is just your wish or based on something, you're in trouble. This doesn't apply in the period around April fools (March 21st - April 3rd)
2.8.: The sites you link to aren't allowed to majorly break any RangerTalk rule.
2.9.: Do not copy anyones work without asking them first and giving them the proper credits. This especially goes for art, fan-fictions, RPGs (including characters) and media made by fans.
2.10.: If you are here to cause trouble and nothing else, you are banned.
3. RangerTalk Staff
3.1.: Decisions by staff members are final.
3.1.1.: Discussing with a staff member over a decision is only allowed over IM or PM with that staff member or a higher ranked staff member. Contact a staff member of the section if you don't know who took the decision. When you don't know what decision is taken or why, contact a staff member as well.
3.1.2.: Don't act as a staff member if you aren't one.
3.1.3.: Staff members are allowed to remove or edit any post on the board. They shall try to keep the message it brings intact as much as possible if they edit the post. If a deleted post is quoted before deletion, that quote or the entire post in which the quote is present may be deleted, depending on whether the post would make sense with the edits in place.
3.2.: Staff members can apply different penalties than the standardized ones if needed.
3.3.: We choose you as a staff member. Don't ask for the job.
3.4.: The Staff will keep any warnings, infractions, bannings and such directed to a specific member between the member and themselves. This means it is done by PM and will only be mentioned, in the Staff Room, to other Staff Members. Staff Members are not allowed to make these public in any way. If former Staff members do this they are permabanned. Warnings in public are given in general, not directed to anyone specific. This happens when a certain rule is broken a lot.
3.5.: Staff members are members as well. They should know the rules and obey and enforce them. Outside their assigned sections they are not staff members. Staff members should read all the threads in the Staff Room.
3.6.: Anything on RangerTalk can be read by the site owner. This includes Private Messages! This means you can get caught breaking rules there as well! If you want something kept private (meaning the site owner isn't allowed to read), use a different way of telling the person you want to tell it to.
3.7.: If there is doubt whether something is really breaking the rules or to which extend, it is discussed in the Staff Room. This means a decision might be delayed. If no action is taken after a filed report, it doesn't mean we're not doing anything. Decisions might also be changed in retrospect.
4. Rules
4.1.: Don't misbehave. If it isn't in the rules, it doesn't mean you can be an ass. If you misbehave in a way not described in the rules a Staff member can apply a warning/infraction/ban to a level he or she deems necessary. This decision has to be explained to the Admins.
4.2.: Section rules overrule the rules in this thread. Temporary rules overrule those unless stated otherwise.
5. Profiles and VIPs
5.1.: Moving GIFs are allowed to Silver and Gold level VIPs. Avatars are auto-resized. Avatars are bound to all boardrules. VIPs have larger avatars.
5.2.: Everything you put in your or another member's profile is bound to all boardrules (This includes Private and Profile Messages).
5.3.: VIP membership is a gift from H!T to people donating. VIP membership grants enhanced features, but won't grant the ability to break rules. VIP memberships can be revoked, but will not, in any case, be refunded.
5.4.: Signatures are bound to the RangerTalk board rules. Moving GIFs allowed. Signature banner limits are set to have up to 1 banner with a size up to 600 pixels (width) and 150 pixels (height).
5.5.: Name Changes are discouraged. People will find it hard to recognize you with a new name. You are able to change your name after a certain period, depending on your memberlevel (Regular member - VIP member (Gold, Silver, Bronze)). Choose your name wisely!
5.5.1.: You can request namechanges before the period of no namechanges end if you made a typing mistake, want to change caps or want to remove a number. If this happens too often though, this right can be revoked.
6. Guidelines in Infractions and Bannings
6.1.: A member receives an infraction each time he or she breaks a rule. Each infraction comes with an amount of points.
6.2.: According to the received amount of active points (some Infractions do expire, meaning the points are not counting anymore), a ban might be given.
Infraction breakdown
