Welcome to the first SSN thread. Where we discuss the good sides of some of the least liked parts of PR. This thread's topic is Justin.

Remember, if you have nothing nice to say than this is not the thread for you.

His actor, Blake Foster, is willing to talk to the fans (there's a thread on RangerCrew where you can ask him questions) :)

It's true. He IS on RangerCrew. I've spoke to him. Should i be happy or ashamed? lol

Justin, thought a lil too hyper as any 12 yr old with superpowers and a zord wold be, has the characteristics of a leader, plus i'd rather watch Justin than Cole, who was just imo trying too hard.

Er, I can think of two earlier (both in Sentai, not PR though, namely Kiba and King - the MMPR White and Zeo Gold Rangers), but none after, so I hope you were joking! :D

Justin wasnt too bad i just didnt like him,

Jacen Solo

I would have been happier with him as the Omega Ranger rather than Sam.

Sorry ... something nice about Justin. It was cool that he gave up his powers to stay with his dad; that shows commitment. And he fought bravely in the battle in the Power Chamber, something that would have traumatized any other boy his age.

What was Zordon thinking, anyway?

Digifiend
07-18-2009, 08:32 PM
Apparently Zordon didn't expect the Power Chamber and Turbo powers to be destroyed. By the time he knew, he couldn't warn the Rangers, and got captured. He wouldn't have deliberately put Justin in so much danger. But I suppose it's partly TJ's fault for self-destructing the Rescue Megazord, I think they could've won that battle by using both Turbo Megazords and having Tommy and co return with the Zeo Rangers' three Megazords to ambush Goldgoyle, the same way that Rito Revolto destroyed the Thunderzords. But that would've required US footage. Turbo Megazord's destruction was from Sentai. I know, went a tad off topic there, sorry.

That'd made a great fan fiction, though.

If it wasn't for Jusitn, then the rating would not have dropped and we would not have gotten PR: In Space which was awsome.
Thats the nicest thing I could think of...

Justin was not the problem in Turbo. The problem was the constant changes (Zordon to Dimitria, Alpha 5 to Alpha 6, Bulk and Skull to Chimps, Ernie to Lt. Stone) and the other Rangers. Yeah... I said it, the other Rangers and here is why. Tommy, Katherine, Tanya and Adam graduate from high school in the first three episodes and then they stick Justin in to fill the school void. Steve doesn't come back to continue as Rocky so know you got four high school graduates in a kid who should be in middle school. It didn't fit and it didn't look good on screen.

Then suddenly here comes Blue Senturion with the Millinnium Message followed by the appearance of Carlos and Ashley then "Passing The Torch, Part 1" which introduces Cassie and T.J. With these four taking the place of the four former college Rangers in "Passing The Torch, Part 2", Justin finally fits into the group. The new Rangers are in high school and they are closer together age-wise, though there is a considerable three to four years of age difference. Nonetheless, it worked, it was better than before and why people perfer the second-half of Turbo to the first.

So... to repeat what I said at the beginning, like it or not, Turbo's problem wasn't with Justin... it was with Adam, Tanya, Katherine and Tommy.

Justin made kid's believe that becoming a Power Ranger was possible for even as a kid, but he kinda wrecked the fact that Tommy and Co couldn't be Rangers as kids lol

Zeo had a lot of changes as well, but it did better than Turbo. Also, PR fans that didn't like Turbo seem to be almost completely unanimous about why they didn't like it: the presence of Justin. While I would agree that Turbo's many changes played a part in its bad ratings, I don't think you can change the fact that Justin is almost always the first factor that a PR fan thinks of when they're asked why Turbo was so bad.

That may be true but blaming it all on Justin is just the ace in the hole and quite frankly stupid.

Whatever did or didn't happen, this thread was intended for fans to talk about Justin in a positive way, not for talking about why Turbo was bad. Can we at least try and keep it that way before something off topic escalates, or personal remarks are thrown. Thanks.

Justin made kid's believe that becoming a Power Ranger was possible for even as a kid, but he kinda wrecked the fact that Tommy and Co couldn't be Rangers as kids lolThe other Rangers were about 10 in Alien Rangers. However, they probably could've morphed if they still had the Dino coins (when age regressed in season 2, they forgot they were Rangers), but the Ninja coins would only function after Ninjor connected them to their lifeforce. As they were now younger than when they got the power, the coins were inoperable. Justin was 12 in Turbo. But age shouldn't matter, since in Dairanger, Kou, the Kibaranger (Tommy's counterpart) was only 9! That's where the idea for Justin came from in the first place.
