Destiny is said to be a path which one would walk and follow for the rest of their life. However, Destiny is also said to be unchangeable, but what happens when magic is involved? When someone messes with the flow of destiny, the world will change, and those things that wasn't suppose to happen, will happen. It all started many years ago, in a land that people didn't believe existed, only in the minds of children and in story books. In a land of dragons, wizards and magic. In a city called Briarwood, which was just on the outskirts of California, there was a barrier that no one knew about. It was placed there to seperate the magic realm and the human world. For the people and creatures in the magic realm, which was known as Alspire, they knew everything about the humans on the other side of the barrier, but the humans knew nothing of them. For many years, it remained that way. There had never been any human try to cross over into Alspire through the barrier, because they didn't know it was there.

But one day, a lonely, middle-aged man was walking through the forest of Briarwood, he had recently lost his wife in a fire and was out there, mourning her lost. He hadn't been there long, but he could already feel something wasn't right there. As he continued his long, hard walk through the forest, he was stopped by something invisible. As he reached out infront of him, his hand would go no further out than just infront of him. There was something there, something that had wanted him to go no further. Out from the back of a tree, a figure in a black hooded robe appeared. The stranger warned the man that if he went any further, there would be dire consequences for the human world in the future. Ignoring what the stranger had warned him, the man walked further. As he passed through the barrier, he blacked out and when his eyes opened, he was in a completely new world.

Time had passed, and the man had spent over a month in the land of Alspire. But while he was there, things were happening in the human world, something of which the stranger had warned him about. Every so often, the sky in Briarwood would fill with a strange violet cloud of mist. There would be huge thunderstorms and the weather had changed drastically since he had went through the barrier. As time continued to fly passed, inside of the man a dark area of his heart was slowly growing. Corrupting his mind and filling him with secrets. One day, when his mind couldn't take no more, he unleashed his anger upon a nearby village. Moments into the killing, he unleashed an amazingly powerful dark spell, which instantly destroyed the whole village. Retreating to the cave where he spent most of his nights, he seemed happy to had gotten rid of the village and everyone in it. Over night, his body changed. Because of the amount of magic inside of him, it changed his appearance, it gave him a dark shaded skin and mutated his entire body. Darkness came into power and a great battle began. The man now called himself Saturo. His weapon, a shield and sword. Now he had a body of black armour, and he had built up an army of undead. He used the people from the villages he destroyed as his minions, turning them undead so that they would follow him into battle.

The dark army swarmed over the land of Alspire. Wiping out any remaining hope of standing against Saturo. At the end of a long, dry battle. A final wizard came onto the battlefield to fight Saturo and his army of undead. Being a powerful wizard, the man had been able to wipe out half of the army with using his own magic. But when it came to the battle with Saturo, his magic had run out and he was now depending on his sword to finish it. Saturo didn't even sweat, and had finished the wizard off with a single spell. When the wizard fell, six colorful orbs floated out of his body and shot of in the direction of the barrier before Saturo could grab them. As they forced themselves through the barrier, they were in the Briarwood forest. They crashed into a large tree, and stayed there hidden until the right people would find them. Destiny had now been altered for six teenagers, but as Saturo sets his eye's on taking over the human world, will there be enough time for the teenagers to learn everything that is needed to stand up against Saturo and his army of undead? Find out in Mystic Force: The Fate of Two Worlds!

Athena/Goldie - I want your character to either be inside of Rootcore, studying or helping around. Or in the city looking around. Either way is fine :). Oh and just so you know you and the Snow Prince are based in the Briarwood forest now, since he'd brought you through to the human world to help with Sutaro.

Oliver Colt Haynes

Letting out a yawn as he walked down the road towards Planet Music, Oliver's eye's were pretty dark today because he had been up most of the night practicing his script for an audition he had just come from. He stopped outside of the music store and looked up at the sign above the doorway. Thinking to himself that someone really needed to clean the sign, because it was last cleaned a month ago and it was fairly dirty. As he entered the store, it was pretty quiet, mostly because it was still early and the teenagers were in collage or work. He unzipped his jacket and went into the back room of the store to hang it up. He was in his store uniform, which was a violet coloured shirt and a pair of black trousers. On the back of the shirt was the Planet Music logo, which filled most of the back. He lifted up a box of newly released CD's and took it out to the front and started to place them on the right shelves for sale. Flipping over to the back to read the songs on the CD he had planned on buying for a while, and then he placed it aside, since he had already paid for it.

''Can't wait to listen to it when I get home'' he said. Just then, the speakers around the store started to play music. He turned around to see his boss had just placed a CD into the machine. ''Morning'' Oliver smiled. ''How'd the audition go, kid?'' Philip replied. He had always been interested in Oliver's acting and always showed him support for whatever he did. Though it was pretty much the same for all of the stores Employee's. He really treasured his staff, and treated them all with the respect they deserved. Because without his staff, Planet Music wouldn't be as popular as it was today. Oliver twisted his head to the side, ''I think it went ok. I just hope I get the part because I haven't been in a musical for quite a while'' Oliver responded.

As Oliver finished unpacking the CD's he went out the back and threw the crushed up box into the trash bin. Upon entering again, he wondered where the others were. ''Hey Philip, do you know what time Tom and DL are planning on coming to work today?'' He asked. Philip replied with a shake of the head ''Nope, but I don't think they'll be late. But if they are, i'll cut their pay for this week'' he joked. Philip was never the kind of person to do such a thing, but he had always made jokes about doing something like it. His staff could never take him seriously at most times, and Oliver loved working for him.

The door opened, and the first customer had came in for today. It was a young boy, probably stayed home from school ill. Or most likely faked illness to get that brand new CD that came out today. Oliver left the boy alone to look around, and he pulled out his phone from his back pocket. Flicking it open, he had recieved a text message from his mother, asking him to go over for the weekend because their havin a big family get together and wanted everyone to be there. After hitting a few keys on the phone, he sent the message which read ''I'll be there, don't worry''.

Jack Divine

Shuffling in an agitated state. Jack pushed back his rather childish patterned duvet which had squares and triangles of different shades of yellow, overlapping a grey and black background. Soon enough, he sat up and caught a glimpse of his messy room. "No more parties" he mocked his room mate in a posh voice before rolling his eyes and rubbing his messy bed hair that even now, still looked pretty damn good. Jack hopped out of his bed and instantly stood on some of his sheet music that had some sort of coffee stain on it from his multitasking at work. "There you are" he laughed, picking it up and stuffing it into a nearby dufflebag.

The clock blatently screamed that Jack was late but he wasn't too bothered right now, he had already saved time by showering before bed so he applied some deodorant, brushed his teeth and half heartedly sorted his hair before heading out of his bedroom to a pristine apartment that didn't really look like it housed his messy bedroom. Blinking in shock at the cleanliness, Jack stepped back and closed the door behind him. Only to hear snickering from his room-mate Hayden. "Oh shut up, Mr. Perfect" he rolled his eyes at his friend before dropping on the couch and taking a bite out of the pancakes that Hayden had prepared.

"Hey, im going to the park...Perform a few new songs, you wanna come?" Jack's eyes lit up with a glimmer of hope as he continued to gnaw at the chocolate chip pancake he had just stolen. His eyes narrowed at Hayden as he shook his head. "I can't man, interview in two hours". "Exactly! Two hours! I have work in half an hour and im still here" Jack let his arms dropped as he finished off the pancake with a strange series of movements. "Not today, man" Jack sighed and rolled up from the sofa. Slightly crushed by the repetition of Hayden avoiding hanging out with him. Hayden winked at Jack and a spark of excitement shot through him "you better turn up for a song" Jack warned before leaving another barrel of sighs behind the closed door of his apartment.

Walking down the sidewalk, he pulled out the ruined sheet music and began mumbling the words to himself "i'm so scared, of being broken...and im so scared, of losing sanity, you're a part of me" he shook his body to the beat he imagined that would match these lyrics that were inspired once again by his mother..And some other strange feeling he had, had since he had moved into the apartment. Jack couldn't put his finger on it, so he shrugged it off and smiled his beaming smile as he headed down the road towards the park.

Danica Leigh Dade

A small lump in the middle of a pile of sheets was all that was left of Danica at this time in the morning. The buzzing from an alarm clock by her bed startled her slightly, but she pulled herself up with her stomach muscles and stared around her room. Posters of some random bands and people scattered her walls -her crown jewel Twilight movie poster sitting nicely in the center- and dragged herself from the sheets. After a quick shower she pulled on a pair of dark blue jeans that sat on her hips with a black leather belt studded with silver squares all around. A skin tight tank hugged her body and her purple and brown hair was brushed to it's normal wavy state.

She grabbed her car keys and dashed to her silver car in front of her apartment building. Singing along with the radio, she drove to a nearby fast food place that sold breakfast food and coffee. She drank her coffee on the way to her destination, nibbling the muffin as she went. "Morning Dade." A gruff voice said to her as she went through a security check point in her car.

"Hey Richard." She replied, grinning brightly. She pulled past and parked her car, entering the black building by swiping her ID card. Humming the last song that had been on the radio, Danica walked down the hallway to the gun range, selecting her usual and starting. Calming herself completely down, Danica started to fire at the target, hitting the center more often than she missed, the result from police training she'd received while in college. After her rounds were done she checked her watch and grimaced, she was a few minutes late for work. She sprinted to her car and drove as fast as the speed limit would allow before running into the music store, catching sight of Oliver.

"Hey Oliver." She grinned sweetly at him as she pulled on her purple shirt. "I'm on time, right?" She batted her eyes flirtaciously, but both she and Oliver knew she was just kidding around. Then she noticed someone wasn't around. "Tom here yet?" She asked curiously, hoping she was there before him for once.

Athenodora "Athena" - Apprentice to the Snow Prince

Athena hadn’t slept any the night before, and now was suffering for it. She could barely keep her eyes open as she looked down at the huge volume that was the spell book the Mystic Mother had given her as a present. Her drooped down, almost slipping off of the hand it was propped on, but she caught it just in time and jolted back up. It wasn’t her fault she couldn’t sleep at night in Briarwood. She was used to the wind whipping around her master’s castle, the snow beating against her walls, and the bare trees scraping against her window. But Briarwood had peaceful weather, sunny weather.

How the hell was she expected to sleep with all the quiet at night!

She had to find a way to get her mind off of her current sleep depravity. Perhaps she could try one of the new spells she had found in the book, just to see if she could get the hand of a spell without her teacher by her side. Maybe that would help. Yes, actually, she knew it would. Magic always woke her up; it sent a charge through her body, and made her blood sing. So, she stood from the table in the center of the room and pushed her chair in. Her fingers wiggled, and the pages of her book flipped to the correct one.

She squinted her eyes; why wouldn’t the words stop moving? Ugh! It annoyed her that absolutely nothing would cooperate now that she had moved. After a moment, the page became clear (well, kinda) and Athena nodded.

“Galwit Mysto…Zynnat?” She tilted her head to the side. What the hell?

It took a moment before she realized the word had not fully cleared before she had read it, and she had said the wrong one. Her eyes widened, and she cursed. Oh shit. Messing up spells? That was not good…

Footsteps neared, and Athena turned around. Her bottom lip wobbled when she saw a huge, white rabbit standing in the doorway. She was supposed to have summoned the spirit of a passed loved one, not an eight-foot rabbit! Oh boy, this one was going to be a fun one to explain to her master… Athena held her hands up as she neared the huge bunny, hoping not to frighten it. However, its large pink nose twitched, and it bounced out of the young woman’s room and into the main room.

“Oh! No, come back! Please!” Her wings opened, and she began to fly after it, “Please, come back! He’ll get mad if he sees you! Please! Oh! How am I going to explain this to the Snow Prince?”

Tom Roscoe

Turning and twisting in his bed, a handsome youngster screwed his closed eyes up in concentration, as if watching some incandescent scene unfold under his closed eyelids. He seemed uneasy, and every now and then, he would mutter a word or two, the words ringing in the silent room; something that could've either been 'witch' or 'bitch'. Then it suddenly stopped and Thomas Roscoe opened his eyes to face the real world. It all seemed like a dream to him at first, and Thomas silently surveyed his surroundings; the general off-white tinted colour of the walls, smeared with square artistic patches of red in places, the poster of Manchester United, his favourite soccer team, and his computer system sitting idly in a corner. Tom sighed and slipped back into the unconscious state before his eyes could open anymore.

Two hours later, his eyes opened grudgingly. Tom glanced at the time; 9:08 AM. Yawning, he quickly shuffled off his bed and onto th e floor which felt cold under his bare feet. Tom padded over to the washroom, stripping his clothes along the way. A quick shower managed to properly wake him up. Tom exited his room, putting on his favourite (aka most commonly used) pair of Levi's jeans and a white and Red T-shirt to go with it, grabbing his bag. He grabbed a banana and a disposable regular box of juice. He was off to his marketing management class, which would busy him for quite a while.

Down at the college, Tom listened to the teacher about as intently as anyone else would in the morning. He was focusing on noting everything down so he could go through it at a more convenient time later on, when his brain would actually register everything. The class finally ended with the usual homework assignment. Sighing again, Tom exited the place, this time with sharper senses than in the morning, since he was now mostly awake. Tossing his bag in the car, Tom hopped in the 2000 Chevy Impala he'd inherited from his parents, heading off to work.

Tom soon parked in the allotted space and headed into Planet Music just after a youngster. He went against muttering a welcome, knowing that he couldn't fake a perfect smile just yet. He spotted Oliver and Philip nearby in the story. "Morning boss, hey Oliver." Tom saluted them both before heading off to the back to pick up the purple shirt with the Planet Music logo on the back. Just as he was slipping it on, he heard a familiar voice outside. Tom grabbed some new CDs nearby and opened the door.

"Missing me?" he grinned at the girl with the streaked hair who was a good friend of his by now, all his wits returning. He didn't believe in decorum, but he liked what she'd done with her hair. Tom headed out and lightly brushed against Danica's shoulder. "You know, procrastination isn't the most enviable trait in an employee." Tom spoke the slightly complicated sentence with a teasing grin that she could see, even though he'd started stacking by labels the CDs he'd just picked up from the back.

Gwen Weston

"Brown, or blue?" Gwen stood there starring at her reflection in the bathroom mirror. Her left eye was brown while her right was blue, as odd as this task may have seemed to an outsider to Gwen this was perfectly normal. Yesterday the decision was between the light hazel pair and the brown, she went with light hazel. Gwen placed her right hand over her right eye, and made a face of uncertainty. She dropped her hand and did the same with her other eye, she tilted her head and sighed letting her left hand fall to her side. Why not both? she asked herself. Gwen let out a frustrated yell and left the bathroom before she could toss something at the mirror.

She entered back into her bedroom where a couple different full outfits sat waiting for her. Glancing down at the outfit she had first chosen Gwen squinted her eyes as if she was trying to focus or think of something. "Why do I even bother?" she muttered, Gwen quickly scooped up each item of clothing on the bed and marched over to her closest. With a bit of difficulty she opened the open and then shoved each piece into the already messy closest. It took a bit of pushing but she finally got the door closed tight again. Gwen sighed and clapped her hands together as if she had accomplished something of great importance. Gwen wasn't the most tidy person around, well when it came to her closest anyway. She usually dealt with clothes this way, if she had already decided on what to wear she didn't want to be tempted into another outfit. It was one of the only times and situations where Gwen's mind was so easily changed.

About half way through brushing her teeth Gwen realized that she still had one brown and one blue eye. She jumped when she caught sight of herself in the mirror. When she finished brushing her teeth and set her toothbrush aside she moved onto the task she had abandoned and nearly forgot about. In a split decision Gwen removed the brown contact from her left eye and placed it back and replaced it with the other blue contact. She blinked a couple times to get the contact to slide into it's proper place. Gwen smiled and gave a firm nod, "Defiantly blue."

She double-checked to see if her apartment door was locked and was finally off and on her way. Today wasn't a day for work though, much to Gwen's relief, Jackie--her boss--had called and told her she didn't need to come today. They weren't expected to be busy so instead of four waitresses Jackie cut it down to two. Although Gwen knew in the back of her head that if things did pick up she would be the first person Jackie would call to come in. The idea made her sick, she hadn't had a day off in a week and half and finally she was given a break. It was like the leisure gods decided to shine down on Gwen this day of all days. Gwen turned her cell phone to silent, that way if Jackie called she wouldn't have been the wiser, she could just blame it on bad service or that her battery had died. A little cruel, but Gwen decided it was time for some fun, well as much fun as Briarwood could be.

She held her messenger bag closer as she passed by a large group of people, bags like these tended to get caught up on other people easier. It's true, it happened before. One minute Gwen was walking forward the next second she was jerked back and spun around. The strap had caught on the handle of someone's stroller. Although embarrassing, Gwen was certain it wasn't the worst in her life. She clicked her tongue as she walked down the street looking in at all of the store fronts, money burning in her pocket, well extra money burning in her pocket. Gwen was up for spending some of it today, maybe on a gift for her dad, she hadn't been over to see him in a while because of her sudden boost in hours. It made her feel guilty, and spoiling him with a new little something always made her day. He'd always reluctantly accept the gift, but the next time she came over he would be wearing it or putting it to use somehow. The question was, what to get him?

Oliver Colt Haynes

He had just finished sweeping the store floor, making sure it was clean for the day ahead. Philip was just sitting in the old leather chair in the music section, being lazy as ever. ''You know, you could help'' Oliver suggested with a friendly smile. Philip sighed and turned his head to the side as if he was trying to sleep. ''No thanks'' he replied. Oliver shook his head in disbelief and carried on with the cleaning. Just as he finished, both Tom and DL arrived in short time of each other. Giving them both a wave as they came into the store ''Hey DL, hey Tom''. DL was the nickname that Oliver had given to Danica, his fellow worker at the Planet Music, and a good friend of his. Everyone at the store were all pretty good friends, but Tom, Oliver and Danica were probably the closest of friends. The three of them had way different personalities than the other, but that was what made them trust each other. Just noticing what DL had done with her hair, he stared at it for a minute before speaking. ''Hey DL, I like that colour. It looks good on you'' he told her with a smile.

Danica had a thing for colouring her hair. She had tried a lot of other colours before but this seemed to be her favorite one. Walking over to where Tom was stacking CD's, Oliver leaned back against a CD rack. ''Tom, you getting that new CD that came out today?'' Oliver wondered. A phone had started ringing and Oliver turned to see if it was the one by the counter, but it wasn't. Must be bosses then he thought. Philip had already gotten of the chair and was heading into his office to answer the phone, but not before shutting and locking the office door. Oliver pulled a strange face ''Why does he do that everytime? Locking the door as if we'd try to listen in on the conversation anyway..'' Oliver sighed.

A slight grin appeared on Oliver's face. He let out a soft laugh and slowly walked up to Philip's office door. He placed his head against the door so his ear was touching it. Trying to listen in on the conversation he was having with someone. Oliver was never the type of person to eavesdrop on someone else, especially someone he knew, but Philip was to lazy to help him out with the store cleaning earlier so he thought what the heck, and went for it. It was difficult to hear through the thick class piece on the door, and tried moving in all directions to hear better. Just as he managed to find the right spot on the door, the handle turned down and the door slowly opened. Oh crap! he wasn't able to move, and the door knocked him back on the floor on his butt. Philip stood in the doorway, staring at Oliver. Oliver's body froze for a minute, then he put on his innocent face ''H-h-hey boss...How's it going?'' he asked, trying to escape the situation lightly. ''That's not really a good idea to eavesdrop on your boss, is it?'' Philip shook his head.

Jack Divine

The sun was particularly warm on this day, he looked up and breathed in deeply as he removed his football jersey, hanging it over the duffle bag and revealing the tight yellow muscle shirt underneathe. Jack was pretty shirt his grey sweatpants were unwashed, but they looked clean so he was happy with that fact as he adjusted the guitar over his shoulder and walked down the sidewalk as if he was carrying nothing - Jack was a pretty strong guy, too strong at times - he smiled at a group of kids he recognized from the park, they'd been learning the songs he was singing and it made him feel good.

Jack stumbled around a corner, walking down the sidewalk facing the shops as people began to flutter carelessly in and out of them, it was a completely routine day...And Jack for once didn't mind that it was going normally. He enjoyed the peace and quiet, closing his eyes briefly until BANG. He bumped into a young girl, her eyes slightly caught him off guard as his guitar hooked around her bag and the two span for a second as they tried to free each other. Finally, Jack stumbled free and placed a firm hand to the back of his head in an anime-like fashion. "Um, that was embaressing"

The beautiful girl in front of him seemed to have been trying to avoid such a thing beforehand and Jack had just made her avoidance to such a thing, trivial. "Sorry about that, are you okay?" he smiled at the girl, adjusting his dufflebag and eyeing the park across the road. "This thing is more like a weapon than a instrument lately" he chuckled lightly, extending a hand and hoping the girl wasn't too busy to at least tell him her name. "I'm Jack, you can call me any curseword you like, if you'd prefer" a grin came to his face as he waited to hear her name. People passing them by and still chuckling at the collision.

Jay Rawlings

Sitting drowsily at the edge of his bed, Jay swayed from one side to another, almost as if he were drunk. He yawned and his eyes opened just a centimeter or two. He looked towards the alarm clock and groaned ; He had a class in half an hour. "That's it, no more late night Internet!" he said half-heartedly as he basically crawled into the bathroom. Once in front of the mirror, he opened his eyes as full as he could to inspect himself. As he did so, a smirk crossed his face. "Man I look like shit" he said as he wiped away drool from the corner of his face. A quick shower later, dressed in black jeans and a grey shirt, Jay walked into the kitchen to arrange himself a quick snack.

He wasn't the best cook around, but hey, it was only him in the house and his cooking almost satisfied his hunger. He had to stiffle another yawn as he prepared some eggs and bacon. "On my way back, I should probably stop at the coffe shop" he said to himself. He ate his breakfast silently and as fast as he could without choking himself, he was already running late as it was. Grabbing a bottle of juice from the refrigerator and his bag from his room, Jay walked out to his car. Soon, he was speeding along the streets of Briarwood towards the college. Ten minutes later, he found himself walking through the halls towards his class. "Crap, am late!" he cursed as he heard the voice of his teacher coming from inside the classroom. He walked into the class and was immediately greeted by a sly remark from the teacher to which a few of the students laughed. He rolled his eyes as he took his place and opened up the book.

An hour and a half later, Jay was walking back to his car, having attended the classes for that day. He was glad that was over with because he was thinking he wouldn't have lasted another minute of Economics if the period went on any longer. He got into his car and started the engine. He turned on the CD player and leaned back in his seat, taking in the lyrics of Second Chance by Faber Drive. "What should I do now?" he asked himself after a while. He drove out of the parking lot and towards the heart of Briarwood he went. As he neared the CD shop, he smirked as he saw two people collide and get entangled with each other. "People..." he said, rolling his eyes.

Gwen stopped in front of a small thrift store and eyed this really neat vintage jacket hanging in the window on display. She tugged on her coat for a minute as if she were comparing it to the one in the window. The coat looked a little too big, and there was a small tear at each wrist. “I bet I can fix that.” she murmured aloud. Without glancing down Gwen reached into her bag and pulled out her small black and blue striped wallet. She flipped it open and thumbed through the cash inside, “The jacket wouldn’t really cost that much.” she tried to convince herself. She counted it over again and let out a dramatic over exaggerated sigh, “I suppose I don’t need a new jacket.” she ended up having less money then she thought. Sure she could have charged it, but that just means another bill to pay and Gwen wanted to avoid as much of those as she could.

Disappointed Gwen turned away from the window and began to walk again, the entire time she kept looking back longingly at the thrift store jacket. When the window was finally out of sight she turned to face forward again and was met by another body. “Hey!” Gwen cried out, and go figure, again with the bag. She cursed the bag as the two of them were interlocked for a minute. When her bag was free again she adjusted the strap and held it close to her side again. Gwen looked up at the guy ready to spout off some nasty comments, she hesitated “Perfectly peachy.” she finally said after a moment of silence. “Why not watch where you’re going next time.”

Like she was one to talk. It came out more vicious then she intended it to, and she winced a little. “I mean, it’s alright just be careful.” Gwen was about to hurry away but the guy stuck his hand out toward her and actually introduced himself. She looked from his hand to his face and back and finally decided to take it. “Gwen.” she said shortly, and paused for a second. “You know, normally people bump into someone and then continue on without another word after ’excuse me’.”

Jack Divine

The girl he had just bumped into turned out to be a bit of a firecracker, which caught him off guard as he looked at her deep blue eyes - it made her seem much more innocent than she appeared to be right now. "Hey, I could watch where I was going, but I think with that bag on your shoulder" Jack nodded his head towards her bag before pulling his guitar forward "and this guitar, we'd still end up bumping into each other somehow". He chuckled at his deranged logic before pausing his usually happy nature to appreciate that this girl was a little confused by him and he didn't want to scare anyone...Not today anyway.

"Nice to meet you Gwen" Jack briefly shook her hand before retracting his and giving her a little space to breathe after her outburst, no way did he want a bust lip from a girl. "Well, maybe i'm not normal?" he half confessed with a sly grin that brought a slight bit of innocence to him..He secretly hoped it would smooth things over a little. "But then, normal people probably wouldn't want to hang around, talking to a stranger who had just hooked onto them and caused a nice little scene in the street" Jack noted that some people were actually hanging around to see if a fight broke out between the two.

Wincing at the thought of it he motioned his head towards the park. "I work at Starbucks, start my shift in umm" checking someones watch as they passed him, he pulled himself back to Gwen's line of vision and smiled warmly. "About 20 minutes. You could have a free coffee on me, I could kinda use the company...But if you're too normal" he smirked before backing away, not really caring if he bumped into anyone as he crossed the street. As soon as he was far enough away, he hummed to himself and began heading to the centre of the park..Knowing Hayden wouldn't turn up, he'd perform one song and get an early start at work.

Gwen rolled her eyes, “Must be fate,” she muttered sarcastically. She stood putting more weight on one foot than the other, her hip stuck out. Bringing her bag closer to her, she crossed her arms after Jack let go of her hand. She was kind of displeased that the handshake was so quick; it wasn’t like she had some contagious illness. A sour look flashed across her face for a second. But for some reason when he smiled she smiled back, that is until he insinuated that she wasn’t normal herself.

Her eyes narrowed, “I didn’t say it was a bad thing. At first I thought there was nothing abnormal about Briarwood, but you’ve proven me wrong. Who still carries a guitar around with them, I thought people only did that in music videos.” This would have normally been an insult, but her tone was suddenly light and playful. She tucked her bang behind her ear. “Besides, you introduced yourself and so did I. We’re not exactly strangers. I think we may be teetering on the line of acquaintances.”

Gwen uncrossed her arms but held onto the strap of her bag with both hands and adjusted her weight so she was standing up straighter now. She starred into his eyes searching for a secret motive behind this kind gesture. After about half a minute Gwen broke her stare and glanced over to where Jack had directed his attention before. Gwen drew in a breath and held it for a second, she half rolled her eyes, she didn’t respond to his comments. Gwen stood there and watched Jack as he walked away. She bit her lip and screwed her face up in concentration, trying to figure out what just happened and tried to make sense of it all. People were still brushing past her, muttering angrily as they did. Gwen turned and started heading back in the other direction. 20 minutes. She still had time to find a gift.

Danica Dade

Danica wrinkled her nose as Tom came into the room, realizing he'd been there at least a minute before she had been there. He brushed against her shoulder and she rolled her neck to look at him with an amused grin on her face. "You know, procrastination isn't the most enviable trait in an employee."

"Oh really? I think you mean 'punctuality'. I don't procrastinate, I'm just not completely on time." She explained, wincing slightly, but keeping the grin on her face. Danica twirled her hair behind her as she turned to grab a box of magazines from behind the shelf, and moved to stack them in their correct holders. She grinned when Oliver complimented her hair, using his nickname for her, DL. "Thanks." She replied with another smile. "I like the purple, it's very... mystical." A giggle escaped her as she shook her head to move her bangs to the other side of her face. She didn't usually accept nicknames, Matt had called her Dani sometimes, and it usually sent a spasm of pain through her whenever someone else called her that, but DL was fun for her.

After she finished she moved to the front counter to help an older woman with her shopping, trying to convince her that CDs were not compatible with record players. The woman left aggravated and Danica could only sigh with relief that she was gone, shooting a playful glare at the laughing Tom who'd witnessed most of it. "Oh shut it." She muttered playfully, falling into a seat on the other side of the counter, kicking at his leg gently, only to tap him.

Thomas "Tom" Roscoe

Tom rolled his eyes when Danica corrected him at it. He supposed that was another way of looking at it. Still, he remained unruffled as he placed the last of the CD in place. "You were procrastinating and you know it." Tom winked at his friend. He listened to Oliver compliment Danica's hair and laughed at the unusual coincidence that he'd been about to do the same. But he figured she'd probably know he liked it anyways, seeing that Tom wasn't exactly giving her a hard time about it.

Just then, Oliver asked him about the new CDs. "I was planning to, but you getting off your lazy bum is also an option," he teased his friend, knowing that he would get the joke. He mostly did anyways; that was one of the high points of working at this amazing store. He had made pretty good friends in Danica and Oliver and with people like that on the staff, he was sure no day could be grueling enough. Tom followed suit as the phone rang, but Phil beat them to it as usual, locking up after himself again.

"Maybe it's a habit of his. He might not be used to getting caught red-handed." Tom grinned, nudging Oliver. He watched with an amused expression as Oliver tried to listen in on Philip anyways. "Good luck," he patted Oliver on the shoulder. Tom headed to the front of the store, not really interested in what Phil had to say. He caught sight of Danica conversing with an old lady; or arguing, it seemed. Tom edged close enough so he could hear every word clearly. His lips pursed together in an attempt to block out the laughter, or delay it till the old lady left. It wasn't long and Tom shrugged under Danica's glare.

"Must be your charm with the old folks or something," he laughed, continuing with the jibes. "Danica the peacemaker; setting records straight." he chuckled, noting that she didn't seem humoured. "Okay, lame pun maybe." he glanced apologetically, making his way beside her. Tom glanced out to see the old lady still lingering outside the shop, as if debating whether or not to enter again. She'd apparently heard him, but Tom averted his eyes from the door as soon as she left.

He suddenly received a kick at his feet and pretended to cringe at the touch. "You have to watch out there Dade; I'm fragile," he teased her, winking again. Hearing a sudden noise, he turned his head inquisitively, almost knowing what the commotion was before he saw it. Indeed, Oliver sat on the ground and Philip towered over him, looking intimidating. He nudged Danica to alert her to the scene, just in case she wasn't watching, suppressing his laughter. "Hey boss, here's some fan mail you should check out!" Tom called over, indicating some store bills that were luckily at the counter. He hoped it was a good enough distraction for the matter to settle lightly.

Athenodora "Athena" - Apprentice to the Snow Prince

“Please, stop running! I only wanna help you!”

The rabbit would just not stop running! It just continued to bounce around Rootcore like it owned the place, which would have bugged poor Athena had she been able to think about anything other than the fact there was a giant bunny rabbit bouncing around her home. And the fact her mentor could pop in at any second. She let out a groan as the bunny did an about-face and bounced back through the door it had come through, and out of the trap she had planted for it. Why the hell were rabbits so smart?

Athena’s wings were killing her; she had never flown that furiously for so long. There was no way she could keep it up, but no way she could keep up with the bunny if she didn’t fly! It made her question the fundamental laws of the universe as she slammed the door behind her. A grin spread over her devilishly cute face as she realized she had succeeded in trapping the Easter Bunny in the main room. “Gotcha.” She cackled, and started for it.

But then the bunny decided to be a smart-ass. It waited until Athena was right in front of it to attempt a jump above her. It knocked her flat to the floor and hopped over to the locked door, then twitched its nose. Athena cursed the existence of all cute and furry beasts before she forced herself off of the dirt floor and glared at the bunny.

“I swear by the Xenatome, I will freakin’ get you.” She growled softly, wings trembling. She lifted a hand into the air and wiggled her fingers. Air began to move quickly within the room, and the bunny was lifted into the air. However, before anything major could happen, the eight-foot rabbit suddenly morphed into a normal size, one foot, but still adorable, fluffy bunny. It landed into Athena’s arms, and she blinked. Then she realized.

“Master, that is so not funny!” She said, turning around and glaring at her teacher, who was leaning against the small stairwell that led to the Xenatome. However, the Snow Prince just smirked, and gave her a slight nod. Her face went pink, and she looked down at the bunny. “Boo.”

The rabbit twitched its nose, and hopped onto the floor. It then proceeded to leave, abandoning Apprentice with her chuckling master.

Oliver stood back up and dusted himself off. ''Don't think your getting away with that lightly'' Philip said, stepping out of the doorway and shutting it behind him. ''Now as for punshiment, I want you to stay behind after the store closes and clean up, and take out the trash'' He told Oliver in an ordering tone. ''But ive got to go to the theatre tonight...'' Oliver responded, slightly annoyed with himself for trying to listen to his bosses phone conversation. ''And-'' Philip stopped as Tom had just told him there was some fan mail for him at the counter. He walked over and Oliver slipped away into the back room for a few minutes to try and make his boss forget about him. When Philip opened the letters, they were some store bills and not fan mail. He turned to Tom ''Are you trying to cover for Oliver?'' Philip asked, quite annoyed at Tom. ''For trying to trick me, you'll stay behind after the store closes aswell and clean up with Oliver!''.

Sticking his head around the doorway, Oliver was listening to everything what Philip was saying to Tom. ''Hehe, ouch'' Oliver grinned. When Philip left in a mood back into his office, and his door was shut and locked, Oliver came out of the back room. ''Sorry Tom, I guess I owe you one right?'' Oliver said, walking over to the counter where Tom and Danica were both standing. He rubbed the back of his head in embarrassment. The door to Philip's office opened and he stuck his head out, which he seemed to have calmed down. ''Go take an early break you three, I can manage the store while your out'' Philip suggested. ''But bring me back a hot coffee from the store down the road'' He smiled.

Oliver couldn't believe what he had heard, first his boss was making him and Tom stay after work, and now he wanted them to get him a coffee aswell. He shook his head. ''Fine, but if we bring you a coffee, we won't have to stay after work and clean up. Deal?'' Oliver smirked. ''Deal'' Philip replied before shutting his office door to return to his work. Oliver turned to the others ''I don't know about you, but I could use something warm anyway'' He said before going into the back room and getting his jacket, and placing it on. He checked his pocket to make sure he had his wallet in there from this morning and then headed back out. ''Meet you guys there?'' He called back as he walked out of the store and headed down the roar towards the coffee shop. Upon entering, he took the nearest table and sat down on the comfy chair and waited for the other two before ordering.

Athenodora "Athena" - Apprentice to Snow Prince

Athena turned back from looking at the door to look at her master. His huge blizzard-colored eyes were sparkling with the laughter she knew he was trying to hide. Why did he always find her mistakes so comical? She didn’t mean to be clumsy! And it was his fault she couldn’t get any sleep at night. After all, he could have very well trained the rangers in their realm. Ah well, no use crying of spilled milk, or whatever the humans said. Might as well make the best of what she had, which was the thing the humans called cappuccino. That was one of the few foods on exclusive to earth she enjoyed. That, ice cream, and pizza.

With a wave of her hand, her wings flattened themselves against her back, and were strapped down by an invisible force. A large white, multi-colored polka dotted book bag appeared on her back, covering the two abnormal appendages, and her hair lost its colored tips, becoming all one color. “I’m-a gunna go look around town, kay?” She asked, giving him a smile. When it was just the two of them, things were casual between them. However, as soon as another person came into the room, Athena instantly pulled the “sir” and “master” out from nowhere. Which sometimes bugged her teacher, but she really didn’t care.

“Be careful, Athenodora.” Whenever the Snow Prince used her full name, he meant business. He didn’t want anything to happen to her, and included her wings popping out from behind the restraints and backpack she used to shield them. “I really wish you would let me put a spell on them.”

She shook her head, “They don’t like it. I know it’s odd, but at the thought of casting a spell at them, they twitch. And that bugs me. Besides, Master, this is easier, and it’s also effective. Nice, no?” She gave him the lop-sided grin she was famous for, and the Snow Prince sighed. He ruffled her short hair and shooed her out with his blessing. He wasn’t all for laziness or goofy off, but he also knew children needed breaks, and so it was time for hers.

----

Athena loved the human world. She loved its sights, its sounds, and the fact that there were different types of weather there. It wasn’t always snowing, or the wind wasn’t always blowing. While she was used the weather to sleep by, she didn’t like it in the daytime, when she needed to fly. Her nose twitched, and she smiled. She was getting near to her favorite coffee shop. She went there enough times that, because Briarwood was a “small” town, a few of the counter workers knew her by name. And sure enough, her favorite guy was there. She gave him her lopsided smile and walked over to her normal table, which was near the books.

As soon as she sat down, she observed, as per her nature. The coffee shop was near empty at the moment, which was odd for that time of day. However, she really didn’t care. The less humans, the better. If she got crowded, or felt crowded, her wings reacted to it the same way a caged animal does to its captors. And, well, ‘twas not pretty. She waited until Joseph had come over before she grinned at him again.

“Usual, ‘Thena?” He asked, and she nodded. Normally, she would have made a tiny fuss at the nickname, only her master was allowed to call her that, but today, she didn’t feel like it. She waited about two minutes until her cappuccino arrived, and sipped as she looked around again. The boy in green hadn’t ordered yet, but had arrived before her. Probably waiting on someone. Interesting. She wondered who, but then shook those thoughts from her head.

Man, she really had to stop people-watching.

Gwen Weston

13 minutes had passed. Gwen had no luck finding a gift for her dad at any of the stores. Okay so she window shopped and found nothing to her liking and decided to circle around head to the coffee shop. She figured she'd wait for inside for a bit, no harm in that. Gwen froze at the door, her hand resting on it ready to pull it open. What if she came off as too eager for showing early? She’d look rude if she showed up late though. Gwen let her hand fall from the door handle and spun around on the heels of her feet. She took a step and hesitated, then again who shows up exactly on time? One last time she turned around and grabbed the door handle and pulled it open with great force, it wasn’t as heavy as she thought it was going to be. Gwen stumbled slightly but played it off well, panic only flickered across her face for a second.

Gwen looked around; she had to admit that she’d never been in here before. Her schedule was hectic and she went out to visit her dad often. Those were a couple side reasons, but the main reason had to do with her not liking coffee. After looking around at the counter expectantly and coming up short she decided to sit down at one of the small tables with two chairs. She glanced around at the people sipping their coffees and lattes; Gwen sulked down in her chair feeling the odd one out. What are you even doing here? A voice in her head asked, she sighed taking her bag off of her shoulder and placing it next to her feet, You hate coffee! her mind told her, I’m here just to show that I can be "normal", I’ll just say I’m not thirsty or just get a muffin.

To pass the remaining time Gwen took out a small paperback book, the cover was worn and looked like it was ready to fall apart. The binding was shot from continuous opening and closing. Sure it didn’t look like much but it was Gwen’s favorite book, she must have read it over 20 or 30 times since she bought it, already in used condition when she did. Gwen fanned through the stained pages and scanned each paragraph for the spot she left off. She found it a few seconds later and readjusted her sitting position so she was more comfortable and began to read.

Jack Divine

As he reached the park, he quickly perched on a small log and pulled his guitar round to the front, laughing to himself quietly as he realized that Gwen was right about him looking like he had been walking around in a music video. People slowly gathered but he wasn't willing to wait around all day for a crowd. This song was something he was dying to perform and so he did, strumming away gently at the guitar, he looked up and his eyes lit in amazement as at the front of the small gathering, stood Hayden, suited up for his interview and looking impatient, but still...Right there. He flashed a grin and began to sing.

The song's lyrics were about loss but followed with new-found hope and lyrics that were even added on the spot they wound around sweet, delicate sound that his wooden guitar gave out and even Hayden looked awe-struck at the talent his flatmate actually had. As Jack put his guitar down and tried to stand up, his friend had already dived through the crowd, pulling him into a tight embrace. "When did you get so good?" Jack laughed at the question, standing back from the hug "i'm not a complete loser" he winked and knew that Hayden needed to run. "Thanks for coming, and good luck" he patted Hayden on the back and stood up to recieve a strange gesture - a kiss on the top of his head from Hayden.

Jack's bewilderment was shortlived as he realized he was later than usual to work, Gwen would have probably shown by now and vanished. He waved his flatmate off before darting across the road and slipping through the back door of the coffee shop where he slipped on a pair of black trousers, pointed shoes and a usual green starbucks apron. He quickly added a small yellow pendant from his grandmother to the uniform and slid behind the counter, grabbing a muffin and handing it to someone before the other employees could do so. "Fast as lightning" he chuckled towards them, smugly.

To his complete and utter surprise, Gwen was there, flicking through an old book. Jack's eyes wandered from her location a little to see a young man in green enter, shortly followed by a beautiful woman whom looked like she was from some sort of fairytale. He adjusted his apron and headed towards Gwen. "You missed out on the music video across the street" he grinned at her. "Sooo, what can I get you? Coffee? Water? Tea?" Jack's mind fluttered as he tried to think of everything on the menu - and failed. "Or are you just here to attack me with your bag again?" a small laugh escaped his mouth.

Jay Rawlings

Jay was lost in his thoughts as he steered the car with just one hand. He didn't know why but for some reason he felt that he was missing something. He was so indulged in his own thoughts that he didn't slow down at the intersection and a car nearly rammed into his; it surely would've had he not slammed the brakes in time.

"MORON!" he heard the woman in the car shriek and then show him the finger as she drove away.

Going a bit round the ears as the cars around him hooted and embarrassed by this little episode, Jay murmured apologies as he sped away from the intersection. He drove carefully for the next few minutes until he reached the coffee shop. "Atleast I had this thing planned" he murmured to himself as he killed the engine and got out of the car. Now his sleeves were rolled up, thanks to hectic classes and he was sure he could use some coffee.

He walked in the shop and looked around. People were scattered, mostly people sitting alone on one table. "Good to know I won't be out of place" he said with a smirk as he occupied a vacant table. Now that he was seated, he looked at the customers and recognized a guy from the Planet Music. He smiled at the waitress who came to take his order and ordered a cold coffee. It was strange sitting alone, the last time he was here, he had been with a couple of friends from college. He tapped the table absent-mindedly as he waited for his order.

Danica Dade

"You have to watch out there Dade; I'm fragile," Danica rolled her eyes obviously at Tom, crossing her legs on the stoll she was perched on. The spat between Oliver and Philip caught her eye and she watched, concerned for her friend. She winced when Tom dragged himself into it, trying to fix it, but ending up making it worse. She rolled her eyes when they were both sentenced to stay after hours and clean up. Oliver walked up to the counter and apologized to Tom, rubbing the back of his neck absently with his hand.

"I'll stay too." Danica replied, straightening her back slightly. "I'm not doing anything tonight." Shrugging, she leaned forward on the desk, but instantly straightened when Philip's head popped out of his office. ''Go take an early break you three, I can manage the store while your out. But bring me back a hot coffee from the store down the road'' A smile lit his face, odd due to the fact he'd just punished two of them. Oliver bargained quickly and got himself a reprieve from working late, Tom as well.

"Right behind you." Danica jumped off the stool and, pulling off her purple uniform shirt and throwing it in the back before walking down to the coffee shop with the guys. In the coffee shop she noticed an array of different people around, Oliver for one, then a girl with a red strip of hair talking to -or avoiding talking to, Danica wasn't sure- a rather hot guy, a girl with short spiky hair. and another guy. She ordered a coffee and joined Oliver at his table, taking a seat where she could view the rest of the room.

Tom Roscoe

Tom was surprised when Philip took it rather harshly, or so he thought. He would've thought his grin would've lightened the mood somewhat and already indicated that he was joking. Never overestimate yourself Tommy, he chided himself. Tom kept his thoughts to himself till Phil retreated to the office and Oliver came up. At first, he could only mouth a long "duuuude!" with an expression that mixed bewilderment with amusement. "What... it is fan mail. Those guys love the bills the store amasses over the month." He laughed out at how absurd the situation was. "Well, it's not like you haven't helped me out before," he grinned, punching Oliver's shoulder lightly, turning to Danica. He listened to her offer to stay.

"You don't have to, but it'd be pretty sweet." Tom smirked. "At least Ollie won't bore me to death then," the teased. Philip stuck his head out of the office, much to Tom's surprise. Well he cools down fast, Tom thought as the guy offered them a break. He quirked an eyebrow, not affecting the offer at face value. Surely, if they could have some time off now, they wouldn't need to stay back? Oliver played smart on that and won a deal that relieved him and Oliver from the detention.

"Great!" Tom smiled, watching Philip disappear into the office again. Slipping out of his shirt, he tossed it in the back and accompanied the others to the coffee shop, sitting down in one of the many comfortable chairs that went so well with the overall elegant atmosphere of the place. Tom grinned at the others. "He probably just wanted the coffee. Can't blame the chap though." Tom chose the moment to look around the coffee shop. It wasn't overcrowded, but there was a decent number of people; all interesting in their own ways - a guy sitting all alone, a waiter leaning tending to an order from a girl with an interesting red stripe through her hair who seemed be absorbed in her book, another girl with spiky hair. He couldn't recall seeing any of them around town. "Well, this isn't a small town for sure," Tom commented.

Gwen Weston

Gwen went through each page with ease, she already knew the story a hundred times over and practically knew every word. Now and then she would glance up and look around, she didn't realize how close she was sitting to another guy in green sitting all by his lonesome. He looked like he was expecting someone, maybe a girlfriend. Gwen ignored her book and began to create different scenario's in her head for this guy. He was good looking enough, probably had some hot young chick to hang on his arm. She started to imagine what the girl might look like, probably blonde--bleach blonde--thin as a twig, looks like a super model. It was obvious she was starring at him, which Gwen realized a whole minute later quickly she returned to her book and flipped the page.

The next voice made her jump a little, she glance up and saw Jack. Gwen slowly closed her book and set it on the table. She smirked, and snapped her fingers, "Aw shucks, guess I'll have to catch the next one." she joked. Gwen let out a small laugh, "I think you learned your lesson earlier not to tango with my bag. It doesn't like others so much." there was a pause, Gwen remembered that he asked her what she wanted to drink. Out of the corner of her eye Gwen saw that the guy in green had been joined by two people. It wasn't at all like the story she had played out in her mind. She screwed her face up in mock concentration for a moment before she spoke, "What do you recommend? And be honest, don't go recommending the worst thing in the place just so you can watch my reaction of disgust."

A broad grin stretched across his cheeks, flashing his pearly whites as Gwen shown off her interest sarcastic abilities. Snapping her fingers at his joke, the laughter from his throat was an honest thankyou for adding to the days good fortune so far. "Yeh, you need to find more sociable accessories, maybe like a rocket launcher, umbrella or something...Would be so much more safer" Jack chuckled innocently, pulling a small sticky pad from his arpon pouch and clicking the pen into position ready to take Gwen's order or...As he guessed, make her order for her.

"I could be incredibly cruel and set you up for a hazlenut latté, but im scared you'd like that, so we'll go for a strawberries and cremé frapp for now" Jack winked with a hint of musical laughter in his voice, looking down at the book he mummured something that would probably have been heard by Gwen. "And maybe some modern day literature too" his throat cleared as if he attempted to clean the slate of insults before handing the order to a local and bouncing off to more customers. "Hope you enjoy, remember to leave a nice tip" he laughed a teasing laugh.

Approaching three seemingly friends, one in white, one in green and the other in shades of red, Jack placed his "Starbucks" smile before pulling out his notepad again, only to find that the girl with a purple tint to her had already ordered. "She kinda beat you guys to it" he laughed at the two. The green guy evidently had his eyes on Gwen. "Go for it man, avoid the bag though" he winked, looking at the fellow in red, hoping for at least the smallest chance to do his job and take one order for the day. "How can I help, sir?" Jack's voice was laced with politeness expected by employees.

Oliver Colt Haynes

Oliver sat there quietly and stared around the shop. It was pretty empty, but it was still early in the morning and most of the teenagers come here for their dinner from the collage nearby. Oliver looked over at a girl who was reading something, which she seemed pretty interested in. When she lifted up her head to look around, her concertration seemed to focus on him. He quickly removed his gaze from her direction and focused on something else, trying to make it as if he wasn't staring at her. She seemed to keep looking in his direction, and he kept thinking is she looking at him or out the window? Soon he was joined by Tom and Danica. Danica had already got her order and Tom had sat down waiting to order his. Oliver looked at Danica who had been looking at the guy that the girl was talking to. Oliver gave her a slight nudge and a wink ''Caught your gaze did he?'' Oliver grinned.

The guy in yellow and a green Starbucks apron came over to the three of them and said something that Oliver didn't quite want to make obvious. ''W-w-what are you talking about?'' Oliver said and glanced over to the girl he had been looking at her. His cheeks went a light red in embarrassment. He remaind sitting for a minute, and thought about what the guy said. Was it really that obvious? He thought. Oliver sighed and turned to the guy. ''I dunno what you're thinking but...'' He sighed. Oliver slided out from the table and slowly walked over to the girl. He looked down at her and tried putting on a smile. But he was still a bit shy and found it hard to. ''H-h-hi'' he was able to speak.

Danica Dade

Danica wrinkled her nose at Oliver's comment and grinned. "He's hot, what can I say." She drew her finger along the edge of her cup, her mind wandering to random thoughts in her head. Mainly how she could think a guy was hot and possibly flirt with him, but not actually have a relationship, it was still a little early. At least she thought, sometimes it felt like she could move on, others she was falling again. But her friendships with Tom and Oliver had helped tremendously, she didn't get quite so depressed like she used to sometimes. The waiter came over and made a slight jab at her so she grinned.

"If I'd known you were taking my order I might have waited." She grinned at him, leaning back and giving Oliver an encouraging nudge toward the girl and watched curiously as her friend got up the courage to speak to her. She looked up to the waiter and grinned. "That was nice of you." This time her smile was genuine, not the flirtacious one from before.

Gwen Weston

Gwen laughed along with Jack, “Probably. I’m starting to think I’m not so normal.” she smirked. Jack muttered something that Gwen just barely caught, she tried to understand what he said but noticed his eyes focusing on the old book laying on the table. Gwen glanced at the book and then to Jack, she rolled her eyes and covered the book with her hands, “In all fairness, it was a gift from my dad when I was younger.” her voice was stiff trying not to let this get to her. Little things like that comment bothered her, at least when it came to personal items such as this. Then again Jack had no way of knowing this small tid bit of information. Gwen flashed a quick smile at his tip retort, she drew in a breath and watched him walk away heading over to the group of three she had previously been eying.

Pulling her hands off the book Gwen examined the cover again, there was a small corner actually missing from it. She couldn’t remember what had happened to the poor paper edge, but she was sure it was an accident. Gwen sighed; she couldn’t help herself but look over at Jack. She studied the other two who had joined the guy in the green shirt. The other guy was real cute, as things were turning out this place seemed to be a breeding ground for good-looking guys. Gwen continued to stare at him for longer than what might have been necessary, she was just looking at him out of pure enjoyment now. After about a minute she moved onto the girl who was quite pretty, and for a moment a bit of jealousy rushed through Gwen. She tilted her head a little noticing the purple in her hair, Haven’t tried purple yet. She thought referring to her own hairstyle. She watched as the girl gave one of those cutie flirty smiles to Jack, a twinge of annoyance flickered across her face.

Gwen’s eyes went to move onto the next guy, the one in green, who she had been starring at earlier; but he was gone. He was there a second ago, she was sure of it. She sat back for a second and tried to look to see if he had somehow moved in front of Jack and out of view. Someone stepped into view anyway so it made it impossible to tell. Gwen rolled her eyes and began to lift her head to see who her new friend was. Green was the first thing she saw and it clicked, the guy in green had come over. For conformation Gwen met his eyes and unsmiling, almost a blank expression on her face even though she felt embarrassed as could be. He stammered out a greeting, if it could be considered even that. She raised her eyebrows slightly. “Hello?” it came out as a question as if to say---and....what is it you want?

Oliver Colt Haynes

He stood there nervously, looking down at the girl who had just changed her gaze at him. He paused for a moment trying to find the right words, he quickly turned to where Danica and Tom were singing, along with that guy who had told him to come over here in the first place. He shook his head and looked back down at the girl. ''I was...Wondering if you wanted to join us?'' Oliver had finally managed to speak properly and his nerves didn't get the best of him. He reached back and rubbed the back of his head, his nerves had kicked in again and found it a lot hard to look at the girl. She was very pretty, and Oliver normally failed when it came to talking to girls, even if he only wanted to be their friends.

He quickly pulled out a chair by the table and sat down instantly. ''I'm sorry if I'm bothering you...It's just-'' he stopped for a moment. He didn't know anything about her, only that she could like reading, just like him. ''So your a fan of reading?'' He questioned, trying to find out a bit more about her. Inside he felt like he was failing at everything he said to her, and over at the other table Dancia wasn't holding back when it came to flirting wit that Starbucks guy. I guess she's a lot better at this than I am he sighed. he turned back to the girl, ''I don't even know your name, i'm sorry if i'm a bit...straight forward.'' He apologized. ''Mine name's Oliver, I work over at the Planet Music store. How about you?'' He asked with a smile. He had finally calmed down, and he was able to speak to her without freezing up at every point he would ask her something. He waited for her answer.

Gwen Weston

Gwen sat motionless waiting for the guy to continue, if he even was. She blinked and glanced over to Jack and the other two for a second and back to the guy in green. When he invited her to join them she made a face that clearly said, huh? Gwen sat adjusted her posture for a second but didn't make an initial response to the first question. Why was he asking her to join them? Did he catch her starring at him, well obviously he must of otherwise he wouldn't have come over. Was he going to invite her over just so they all could somehow embarrass her, make fun of her, lurer her into a false sense of security before striking? Gwen laughed at herself, You have issues her brain told her.

These paranoid thoughts were dismissed though, the guy actually seemed genuinely nervous to be around her. Unless he was a fantastic actor. Why was she being so paranoid today? He sat down. Was this seriously happening? She held her breath for a moment, what are the chances that two great looking strangers would be willing to stop and talk to her. It was either the best day of her life, or the worst she couldn't decide. It all depeneded on how foolish she came off to them, and if they were humoring her. Gwen turned her head to the side real quick and rolled her eyes, she was driving herself crazy with all of this paranoia.

Gwen looked down at the book again, this time she picked it up and set it in her lap, it was becoming the main topic of discussion today. "Kind of." she said keeping her reply short still trying to figure out why he wanted her to join them. Gwen decided she was coming off as kind of cold, she was a good sport earlier with Jack why not just continue with a semi cheery mood. Gwen gave a half smile, "Oliver." she said repeating his name, "I was ready to call you Green Guy for the rest of your existence." she laughed. "I'm Gwen and I don't work at Music Planet." Gwen leaned forward on the table, "So, Oliver what really brings you over here? I mean you honestly want me to join you and," she looked over at the other "Your friends?"

Tom's gaze roamed the cafeteria and settled on the girl in blue with the red streaks again. She seemed to be looking at him and after hlding her gaze for a while, he turned it for fear of being too impolite to strangers. Who knows how paranoid people are? Or how paranoid he was just thinking that. Tom looked at the guy in grey in the corner, who was alone, yet devoid of a laptop, which surprised him. People having a break alone at Starbucks outlets usually had a laptop at hand. Tom looked back towards his friends, to see Oliver teasing Danica about the waiter in yellow and green while he himself was absorbed with the girl in blue he'd seen earlier. The waiter finally came up to them.

"Sharp observation," he grinned at the guy when he egged Oliver to go make his move.He watched Oliver slide out of his seat and saunter over to the girl. "That's the spirit," he chuckled, turning back to the waiter who was being extremely polite, considering the guy seemed to be around his age, after thinking his order. "Eh, I'll just have a capuccino, with extra white sugar." Tom admitted, grinning sheepishly. "I feel so old-fashioned saying that," he laughed. Picking up the menu, Tom went through it even though he'd already placed his order. He tried to distract himself from the flirting going on everywhere. "Oookaaay," he whistled after a while, putting down the menu while almost rolling his eyes. It seemed to be a classic third wheel situation. He once again caught the other girl's eye and offered an encouraging smile.

"I'm going to go the bathroom, to die or something." He whispered teasingly to Danica, slowly getting up from his seat. Tom sauntered over to the washroom to get away from the mess and also to give the people some space in case they wanted it, though normally he would've just told them to get a room. This was two of his best friends in Briarwood though, and Tom was better than that.

Jay Rawlings

Jay looked up as his order was served to him. He thanked the waitress and added some sugar to his coffee. He stirred and then took a sip, it was hot and burned his tongue but it tasted good. "Eh, I'd better wait for it to cool a bit" he said to no one in particular. He reached into his pocket and brought out his I-Pod and began shifting through songs. He settled on 'Apologize' by One Republic

He listened to the song as he took a sip of his coffee. He had noted that some girls had streaks of dyed hair among their natural colour and he wondered what was up with it. He shrugged and leaned his head to in the chair and closed his eyes ; sighing. He had a paper due the day after tomorrow but being the procrastinator that he was, he had no intention of starting on it today. He looked at his watch and smirked, most of his friends would either be at work or would be having their classes. It was an advantage to have as much time of as he did with his studies and work, but his work didn't start till twilight and he was sure he might be able to get some more sleep before that. What should I do for the rest of the day?, he thought deeply as his eyes fell on this group just one table away from him.

Am holding on your rope,
got me ten feet off the ground

As the song finished, Jay looked down at his I-Pod, searching for another song to kill time with. Once he was done, he turned his attention back to his coffee.

Jack Divine

His smile broadened at the male in green whom seemed quite uncomfortable with the idea of heading over and talking to Gwen at first, but he sooned plucked up the courage and headed over nervously. "I dunno if it was nice of me, but she could do with the company anyway" Jack smiled and flushed red a little when the girl managed a roundabout compliment towards him. "She gets a free refill" he looked at the guy in red and laughed keeping himself friendly as always. He wasn't flirting at all today but the way he acted was probably always too friendly...Bad trait he figured.

"Simple order, nice choice" Jack smiled at the guy in red before chuckling at his comment on feeling old fashioned. "Are you kidding? We have students in here asking for the strangest of combinations, a little extra white sugar can't go a miss" he jotted down the order on his notepad and allowed him to head to the bathroom, guessing he was possibly feeling uncomfortable right now. Jack didn't overthink it and turned his attention to the female who was now sitting alone, with her male friends off doing their thing. "Be right back, umm..Mind if I get your name?"

After learning of her name, he nodded "unusual, but very pretty..I'm Jack, be right back, Danica" he headed away from the table briefly, handing over the orders which were promtly placed in front of Gwen and the spot where the guy in red had sat just a little earlier. Soon enough, he became bored and realized that with the amount of people his own age that were in here, he may aswell try and socialise a little. He grabbed a few sachets of sugar and placed them by the red male's cup. "You came from Planet Music, you work there?" he questioned with a polite smile.

Danica Dade

Danica laughed brightly when the waiter blushed. She hadn't meant to do that, but knowing she still could was a nice touch to her day, making her sit straighter in her chair. The flirting was harmless, but Tom certainly wasn't getting that, rolling his eyes at her. Danica didn't speak again as Tom ordered and smiled at their little conversation about coffee, her coffee was pretty much the same, little sugar, little cream, fairly simple. Tom's voice near her ear made her laugh, especially with his comment about dying. "Don't take too long or I'll send him in." She tipped her head slightly toward the waiter and smiled coyly, her bangs sliding across her face.

Now alone Danica looked back up at the waiter still standing next to her, oddly grateful to not be stuck completely by herself. Him asking for her name was an even better way to keep occupied while Oliver tried his best at charming the girl with the red streak. "I'm Danica." She grinned, "It's Hebrew, but I'm not Jewish." She always explained her name before people could ask, it had gotten really old to explain before, and annoying when people started thinking she was Jewish when she wasn't. Not that there was anything bad with that. The waiter introduced himself as 'Jack' and she smiled, nodding at the normal name. Danica's eyes went over to Oliver and the other girl in blue for a few minutes, watching them talk and making sure she looked like she was sipping her coffee.

Jack returned and sat down in the fourth chair at the table and started the conversation normally, about her temp job at Planet Music. "Yeah I work there until I can get a real job." Danica wrinkled her nose at him. "Don't get me wrong I love it there, but I think my parents would be happier if I utilized the college training they paid for." She laughed at her own terrible joke, leaning back in her chair. "What about you? Is coffee your life's work?"

Oliver Colt Haynes

''Gwen.'' he repeated her name. ''Nice name'' he flashed her a smile. He laughed slightly when she said she didn't work at Planet Music. ''Yeah I can see that'' he replied, then turned his head to look at the guy chatting to Danica. I guess that was kind of obvious that they'd get along so quickly he told himself. The nerves in him had seemed to had calmed down now, and he felt slightly happy to be talking to Gwen, even if it seemed she so wasn't interested in talking to him. But Oliver stayed to give it a try, after all he'd always liked meeting new people and he didn't get the chance that often. ''Sure I do. After all I can't leave my friend over there alone with that guy, she might jump him'' he joked.

Feeling a lot more comfortable now, he leaned back on the chair. The ground shook for a second or two and he sat straight back up properly. ''What the hell?'' He said as he looked around. Car alarms were going off loudly outside of the shop, and people were running around screaming. Some middle aged woman ran passed the shop window screaming ''Earthquake!''. Oliver shot out of his chair like he had just won a million on the lottery. As he ran by the shop door and pulled it open, a huge thunder roared above the city, followed by a few lightning bolts striking at the same time, which was rare. Then there was a tremendous aftershock through the ground, and the whole building shook. The noise of crashing echoed throughout the city. Had the lightning struck buildings? Then all of a sudden a gale of rain started to hammer down on the city. The rain was icy cold and very hard to withstand. Oliver went back inside of the shop and shut the door.

The shop owner ran to the door and pushed Oliver out of the way, he placed the keys into the hole and locked the door. The only thing Oliver could do was watch as people gathered outside of the shop trying to get in. ''Hey what are you doing?! Let them in!'' Oliver demanded at the owner, but he was ignored. There had never been weather like this before, only once many years ago. Oliver's parents had told him about it, and told him of the destruction it left. You could hear the people outside screaming, and trying to break the door down. It was when it went quiet when two cars flew passed the shop window and took the people with them. The wind was so strong that it was able to lift up cars, and throw them around. ''Get down to the storm cellar, now!'' the owner shouted at the teenagers in the shop.

Oliver looked around ''Tom, where's Tom!?'' he yelled over the roaring of the wind outside. The force of it was slowly cracking the window of the shop. Then he remembered Tom went to the washroom. ''I'll get Tom'' He told the others, and then turned to Gwen with a worried face. ''Get to safety!'' he told her. As he ran to the washroom, he'd seen Tom. ''We've got to get out of here, the others are going to the storm cellar. hurry!'' He informed Tom before leaving the room and running down to the cellar with the others. There was actually two storm cellars. One for staff and one for customers.

Sutaro

Standing with his dark army on the other side of the barrier, inside the forest of Briarwood, Sutaro stood firmly and proudly. The day had finally come when he had gathered enough power to finally make his move into the human world. An evil yet satisfied grin crawled onto his face. He turned to the direction of his army, who aswell were waiting patiently to make the first move. He raised his sword into the air, the blade that had taken so many lives in such a short time, and the sword that glowed with darkness. ''Today, we will make our mark in the human world. We will show them the power that we have claimed for ourselves. We will make an impact on their world, that when we are done, there will be nothing but darkness left.'' he grinned. He brought his sword down, with the army of darkness roaring battle chants behind him as he mumbled some words in ancient magic language. The tip of his blade glowed with an envy red colour and he slashed the blade down over the barrier. As the barrier tried to hold back the magic casted by Sutaro, his smile grew. ''Just a bit more.'' he said quietly.

The barrier started to crack, the army of darkness roared a lot louder and then took no more than five steps forward, making sure not to be to close to Sutaro, their king. Then finally, the barrier cracked completely, falling to pieces and disappearing into nothingness before it hit the ground infront of his sturdy boots. He stepped forward where once the barrier would have stopped him. He was now in the human world and one step closer to his goal. He took a long breath and smelled the air of the human world for the first time, or so he thought it was the first time. A bright flash and a few memories of his walk in the forest all those years ago returned to him. He shook them off, wiping them completely from his mind and setting his eyes on Briarwood as his first target.

He looked up at the storm clouds gathering, which he knew he caused by not just coming through, but breaking the barrier. He turned to his army who had just also taken their first steps in the human world. He pointed to several groups of Hidiacs and Styxoids. Then swiftly turned and pointed with his sword towards Briarwood through the forest. ''Do your worst'' he laughed in an evil, dark tone. As he watched his army from the back, he took one final glance to the dark clouds above, he smiled. ''And so...It begins.''

Tom grinned at the waiter's comments and headed off the washroom. He entered and shut the door behind him, positive that Danica hadn't caught on to his teasing. It was that, and also the fact that he needed to use the washroom anyways. Once finished, Tom cleaned his hands at the sink and ran a wet hand through his hair, as was his childhood habit. Tom was about to exit when the ground suddenly shook uncontrollably. He was knocked off his head, his head smashing into the basin. Pain shot to his head and he lay down in a daze, not sure if it was him or the world that was moving around him. Pull it together, Tom made it to his feet, by now clearly hearing the commotion outside.

Tom ran out and almost bumped into Oliver, who looked flustered. He explained that they needed to take refuge in the storm cellar. "Hold on..." but Oliver took off. Tom soon followed but stopped by the window when the spectacular phenomenon outside caught his eye. Strong winds the likes of which he'd never seen were blowing across the street, dragging some mighty heavy items like cars along with it. Most of the people had taken refuge, but Tom found himself inclined to bust out to help two young kids who had stumbled on the side path. However, a man helped them along and Tom turned in to the pandemonium that was in the coffee house.

"Come on!" he urged as he spotted Danica and the others nearby. He was almost pushing them forward, frantic while he mused over what called for the sudden change in the elements. The weatherman's in for it now, he mumbled.

Listening to Danica speak, Jack nodded politely, taking in everything she was saying and chuckling when she mentioned that her parents would probably be more pleased with her making use of her qualifications. "Oh, I could imagine how that would be..But Planet Rock is an awesome place, i'd love my CD to be in there some day" he had secretly kept that dream under wraps, it was embaressing to him whenever he mentioned anything about aspirations. "Coffee is my thing right now, but im also an amateur musician" he stressed the amateur part with a smile.

"What kinda real job are you thinking of?" his smile remained as he was shocked that she had gotten him into career talk, what a shock, Jack Divine talking about the future! The suddently a tremor shot through the ground sending furniture and people all over the place. Immediatly Jack's eyes surveyed the room to find most people heading for the storm cellar as the elements completely shifted into some sort of incredible storm. "What the-" his voice was cut off as Danica's friend Tom returned from the bathroom telling them to get a move on.

Jack tugged on Danica's arm whilst they were being maneuvered by Tom towards the storm shelter. "Pushy fellow isn't he?" his mock-joke went pretty much unheard and he realized that it probably wasn't the time for it. Soon enough he was down in the storm cellar amongst very anxious people. "I'm sure it'll smooth over soon" his calm, carefree spirit remained but after recieving a dark glare from someone, his gaze dropped to the ground and his lips pursed shut in a pouting manner.

Jay Rawlings

Jay was feeling a bit lonely in the coffee shop and it was to be expected since he didn't have any friends present there at that very moment. As the second song finished, he shut off his I-Pod and pocketed it, intending to finish his coffee in the next few sips. Just as he reached out for his mug, the ground shook violently and thunder and lightning made their presence known simultaneously. Then another jolt shook the earth. Panic rose within him as he saw things fall off, as his coffee. He could see that a gale was blowing outside, sending people and cars alike flying. He was enraged when the shop-owner locked the shop and didn't allow the helpless people outside to come in for shelter. "You crazy!? Let them in!" he yelled but he wasn't heard.

Then the owner told them all to head down to the storm-cellars. The commotion that followed was instantaneous as was expected due to the extremity. He heard someone ask for a guy named Tom and from the corner of his eyes saw the guy in green dislodge himself from the people going down to the cellars to look back. He tried to look over his shoulder but a shove from behind kept him going forward. Once in the cellar, he heard the waiter say something about everything turning out alright and rolled his eyes. In his view, it was just a storm that would blow over sooner or later and that they were safe as long as they were in the cellar. "The storm will blow over sooner or later...." he said, voicing his thoughts. He leaned against the wall and counted the number of people in the cellar, trying to remember their faces. He was taken off-guard by this sudden change of weather but he tried not to let it show on his face.

Gwen sighed; she glanced up at Jack for a second when he set her drink down in front of her. Her attention was drawn away from Oliver as she observed the pink frozen concoction. A strawberry creme frappuccino. Gwen didn't like coffee, in any form, so she was quite hesitant to try this. However she did like strawberries, so maybe she would be able to stomach this. Gwen played with the drink for a few moments, taking the straw and stirring it, pushing the whip cream further into the drink. She leaned over and took a sip, she sat back deciding whether or not she actually liked it. Gwen shrugged and began to eagerly take long draws from the straw.

Her attention went back to Oliver who had something and gestured back to his friend and Jack. She swallowed and glanced over at the two and then to Oliver. Gwen was about to say something when a sharp pain shot through her skull. “Ow! Brain freeze!” she cried out pressing her fingers to her temples. She felt her chair start to shake, and at first Gwen thought it might have had to do with her brain freeze, but then again who feels the space around them shake during such a moment? And since when do others feel the same sensation. Wait. Gwen forgot about the pain in her skull and looked around, it had suddenly gotten dark within a matter of seconds and people were running around in a panic.

Grabbing her bag Gwen hopped up from the table, as she did the aftershock knocked off her feet and to the floor. “Perfect.” she muttered aloud, Gwen struggled to get to her feet amongst the panic of people rushing past her to get down to the storm cellar as they were told. In the end she decided just to let the bag go and followed everyone else. She looked back at Oliver, “Oliver!” she called, “Don’t you know you’re heading in the wrong direction.” she said with the best sarcastic smile she could muster it didn’t hide how scared she actually felt. Gwen wanted to stay to help, even though she had no idea what help she could have been, but instead listened to Oliver and headed for one of the cellars.

Gwen stumbled into the cellar and stood flat against one of the walls. She took a deep breath and held it for almost a minute until she couldn’t any longer and let it out. The day had started off well enough, met a couple nice guys then shopping for---“Dad!” her neck jerked up, Gwen searched for her phone desperately only to realize she left it in her bag, which was still by the table. “Crap!” she stomped her foot. He’s probably already in the basement. Nothing to worry about. she tried to calm herself.

Danica Dade

Danica turned her head slightly as the waiter started talking to her. Apparently he felt bad that both Tom and Oliver had left her for other pursuits, and was talking to her. A random thought spurred through her brain that waiters didn't usually sit down on the job and talk to patrons, but this one did. Danica grinned broadly when he said he was a musician. "I would love to hear you sing sometime, or play." She giggled, "Either one." His question about the real job she grinned, realizing she hadn't quite told him what her college training had been. "I'm trained to be a CSI, you know like the TV shows? Lots of math and science."

A loud crash jolted her out of the conversation and out of her chair. The sky was turning black, and the ground trembling beneath them, but Danica could only see the sky in front of her. Ever since she'd found out her birth mother had been killed in a storm, she'd hated them, as a child she'd cry and hide in a corner, but now she usually just turned up the music loud to drown out the hideous sounds. She was frozen in place but a tug on her arm made her step in that direction, following whoever it was blindly, eventually ending up downstairs with a group of other people. Danica went to the corner, her stomach flipping uncontrollably, and leaned against the wall. This storm was the worst she'd experienced in her memory, and that didn't sit well. She pressed her cheek against the cold cement and sank to the ground, trying to even her breathing.

Tom Roscoe

Tom was busy trying to shove everyone through first before himself, which had been a sort of habit which had formed in the time. He could hear the sounds of thunder and the occasional shake of the building which was so unlike the peaceful Briarwood he had come to know. On the other hand, Tom had always been fascinated by storms; there was something about seeing nature in power that was mesmerizing to him. But this was still something dangerous. Tom hadn't seen the car bowling the people over, so he hadn't obviously seen the worst of it. He felt a lump building in his throat and swallowed, keeping his game face on.

Once inside the cellar, Tom looked around. The instantaneous response was either fear or shock, but some of the people seemed to be holding their own pretty well. He heard the guy in grey's comments. "It has to," he added. He watched the girl Oliver had been talking to suddenly seem frustrated about something. About to go ask her, his eyes fell on Danica who was shying away from the crowd in a corner. She seemed to be affected quite a bit by the storms, or maybe it was the fact that she was his best friend. Either way, Tom found himself beside her in an instant.

"Hey, it'll blow over," Tom whispered gently, sliding an arm around her shoulders as a means of comfort. He was trying not to sound condescending in any sense, which might come across that way to a lot of people. "Besides," he added with a mischievous grin, "You owe a nice, normal cup of coffee now; if you remember our bet," he laughed slightly, hoping he was distracting her. Tom remembered he still had his iPod on him and retrieved it from his pocket. "Talk about a stroke of luck. I wanted you to make you listen to these tracks I downloaded," he handed her the iPod. "No metal... for once," he grinned, knowing that she didn't like that brand of music anyways.

Oliver Colt Haynes

Oliver was pushed into the cellar, and then the steel door was pulled shut. Everything was dark, and for the first few seconds, it felt like a life time had passed. When the lights flickered on and off, Oliver looked around at the others who all seemed a bit...freaked out by the whole sudden storm. It seemed that Danica had took it the worst, and Tom had gone over to try and comfort her his best. The only thing they could do was sit tight, and hope that it passes over quickly enough for them to get back out. A claustrophobic would really have a hard time in here, there was hardly much space to share between the others and it was easily one of the scariest places Oliver had been in his whole life.

He pulled out his phone that he had in his back pocket. Lucky I brought this with me he told himself, trying to calm his quick breathing down. He flicked open his phone and tried dialing his parents house, to see if they were ok. But There was no answer. He tried another three times before realiseing that they must be over at his grandparents house in their storm cellar. ''I hope their ok'' he said, turning to face a dark wall, not letting the others see his worried face. His grip on his phone slowly got tighter, he felt usless and unable to do anything apart from worry. He then slowly walked over to Gwen and placed out his hand with his phone in. ''Here, try your parents'' he smiled. Backing up again the wall, and he slided his back down until he was sitting on the cold, hard floor and his back against the wall.

* 15 minutes later *

His eyes blinked, and looked down at his watch to see how much time had passed. The noise above had seemed to calmed down and Oliver thought that maybe it was over? He stood up and brushed himself off, getting all the spider webs and dust off his clothes. He turned to the others and a slight smile appeared on his face. ''I think...It's over'' he told them. Everything was quiet, and the only thing that he could think of now was to go up and see if it had really stopped. Using his strength, he forced open the steel doors and took in a deep breath of fresh air. His heart had stopped beating so fast, and he was feeling a bit more calmer that he did before. As he walked up the steps in the shop and then reached the top to where customers would sit and get served. He suddenly came to a stop, and stood in fear. The roof of the building had been completely ripped off, and nearly everything in the shop had been taken with it.

But his concern wasn't the shop, but the people who was outside earlier trying to get in for safety. He ran by the door and remembered that it was locked earlier by the owner. However when he tried to open it, the door fell of the hinges and collapsed to the floor. He stepped over the door and was finally outside. His mouth was unable to open, not even to yell to see if anyone was out there. Briarwood looked like a bomb had hit it, not once but many times. Buildings were nothing more than rubble and cars were turned upside down with glass all over the road. He shook his head, remembering to look for people. The next building to the coffee shop was the computer corner shop, where teenagers would go to do their homework. As he started pulling rubble away, there was no one to be found.

He did not give up, as the rubble started to scratch his skin and open little wounds. small amounts of blood was running down his hands but he ignored it. His heart started to beat rapidly and the worry returned in an instant. ''Where the HELL is everyone!!'' he yelled at the top of his voice. He kicked a piece of stone in anger and turned around from the ruined shop. He stopped in the middle of the street and looked both directions, hoping that people would be coming. But no one came. The only people that seemed to be left was Oliver, Tom, Danica, Gwen, that Starbucks guy who was easily flirting with Danica and that other guy who was in the shop at the same time, in silver.

Jay Rawlings

Jay paced around in the storm-cellar, wondering what would be happening to the people outside in this freak storm. He imagined the cars and people being swept away by the strong wind and he shuddered at the thought. There were so many possibilities there, kids, young, adults and the elderly all alike, helplessly being thrown here and there by nature's wrath. He wondered what kind of a heartless creature was the owner to not let the people in when they literally begged to be let in. After ten minutes of pacing around, Jay leaned against the cold cellar wall again and just stood in that position, waiting for the storm to subside while at the same time thinking of all the people out there. His dad was out of town so there was no need to worry about him and by calling him, he would only make his dad worry about him so he had decided against it.

He was lost in his reverie that he didn't notice the sudden calm until the guy in green, Oliver pointed it out. He followed him up the stairs and then saw him stop, he looked over his shoulder, which was a bit easy to do since he was 4 inches taller than him and his lep pressed together in a firm line. The roof had been blown away and seemingly took everything with it. He looked towards the spot where he had been sitting and could see nothing but few scattered chunks of wall. He shook his head and followed Oliver to the door which fell down. The noise was like a gun-shot in the silence and had he not seen the door falling down, he was sure he would've thought an explosion had gone off.

He stepped over the fallen door and out in the open, he sucked in a breath of fresh air, as compared to the musty air in the cellar and looked around. It was like a nuke had gone off. Debris and crunched up cars everywhere, shards of glass shattered everywhere, woodwork from the buildings lying around like planks on the road. Was it a freak tornado or something!?, he thought incredulously as he observed the after math of the storm. He saw Oliver trying to clear some rubble, no doubt searching for some survivors so he went to the opposite side and searched through rubble himself. But it was all in vain, he had managed to get blisters and a cut on his index finger on a shard of glass and graze his knees but could come up with nothing. He looked up at the others and shook his head glumly. He reached into his pocket and brought out his handkerchief, trying to tie it on his finger as he walked back to the group while at the same time his eyes were scanning the surrounding. "Where he hell is everyone?" he wondered.

Danica Dade

Danica took Tom's earbuds and stuck them in her ears gratefully, clamping her hands over them, still rocking back and forth. She tried to listen to the music instead of the memories of horrible nightmares that plagued her as a child. Slowly she started focusing more on the songs lyrics instead of the howling wind outside, breathing slower, the nausea receding as the songs progressed. After a while she saw people standing up and leaving the cramped room so she grabbed Tom's arm and pulled herself up, handing him back the iPod with a weak smile on her face.

Outside the nausea hit her like a ton of bricks, seeing the city practically demolished like it was. She staggered to sit down on a piece of cement, breathing deeply as she looked across the damage. There was no one to be seen in the entirety of the place, no even remote sign of life. Entire buildings that had been completely fine an hour ago, now sat in a pile of nothing on the ground. Danica swallowed hard, shivering with fear at the sights in front of her. She was trained to handle emergencies, but disasters like this one stunned her beyond anything. But when Oliver yelled out in anger, she got up slowly and went to his side, kneeling down next to him, her hand on his shoulder.

"Hey." Her voice was rough. "Don't lose it on me." She made him look up at her. She knit her eyebrows, fighting her own anger, shock and pain at the unforeseeable sights they had to endure. She grabbed his hands from where they were bleeding and torn from tearing at the rubble. "Calm down." She believed the words herself as she said them, her own physical state returning to relative normality.

Tom Roscoe

Tom smiled encouragingly at Danica when she took the iPod and started rocking back and forth. He left her to herself then, instead focusing his attention on the remaining people in the room. He could see most of them were trying to calm themselves down and after glancing at the space and lack of ‘home’ness that the storm cellar carried, Tom couldn’t help that feeling that crept up to him like a disease, shadowing his heart. He could feel his hands turn slightly colder and Tom thus looked down, concentrating on breathing evenly. He always had hated confined spaces, they made him uncomfortable regardless of any other factors.

Tom took the iPod back and nodded understandingly at Danica. Oliver spoke then, announcing that it was most likely safe to go upstairs. Tom followed the others through the steel doors and out in the open. He took a deep breath once finally in the open, though it wasn’t exactly the fragrance on a sunny hillside. The rubble had stained the air with some pretty bad smells, but Tom was too glad to be out of that confined space to mind that. His eyes glanced the damage incurred by the storm. It seemed as if a giant bulldozer had just bowled through the town, almost leveling the buildings on ground level. Tom frowned, looking around. It was strange indeed – no one seemed to be around.

Hearing Oliver’s frantic yell, he scrambled over to the guy. Danica had already stopped him from cutting himself unawares on the rocks beneath. She advised them to calm down and Tom could really pay heed to the words. He once again forced himself to calm down and examined the ground nearby, pushing aside the rubble just to be sure. “Barely any blood; maybe they just took shelter Oliver.” Tom’s voice sounded more even than even he had expected. He wasn’t completely convinced of it himself, but they had to have some hope. “I didn’t see many people out here when we were going down, they’re probably too scared to come out, or tending to the injured,” he elaborated, walking by a certain place that had a red stain about as long as his foot in the ground. It was the place where the car had banged into the people who were left outside. Tom covered it with an overlying piece of rock and began to look around. “Try to see, or hear anyone buried beneath.” He more of asked this of Jay, Jack and Gwen who were out of the coffeehouse by now.

Jack Divine

Being in the safe storm cellar made things feel so much better, but seemingly everyone else wasn't feeling the exact same way as Jack right now, with panic stricken screams and people bundling up together, praying. Jack closed his eyes and kept himself in a peaceful state of mind as he heard all hell break lose above. It sounded as if a meteorite had hit the city as the rumbling and strange explosion sounds continued. He began to wonder if Hayden was safely at his interview in Blue Bay Harbor by now, or at least far enough away from this chaos. Keeping his hands tight to his chest and his eyes pressed shut, he waiting for silence.

Whilst resisting the urge to grab his cellphone and attempt a phonecall, Jack noticed it went silent. Soon followed by a panic stricken Oliver clawing his way through the debris to get to the surface. Jack immediatly rushed to help but was way too slow behind the troubled guy in green. Four of them were out of the cellar by the time Jack had pulled himself up. Oliver had obviously had some sort of meltdown...And now wonder why...Everything was gone, a blind state of nothingness but chaos in front of them, small flames licked the rubble around them and the clouded sky remained.

"Should we still be out here?" he spoke in a cowardly manner, his eyes flickering over the others for a reaction. Jack passed Danica, patting her on the shoulder as he stumbled across what was once his place of work. There were bound to be so many injuries, no one would have been able to escape this as quickly as they did. Suddenly, Jack's calm state of mind flew out of the window and he dropped onto his butt, painfully at this point, but he didn't care...Everything he knew was gone and there was nothing he could do about it. Nothing but wait for some sort of authorities to show up and try to comfort them.

Gwen Weston

Gwen tried to block everything out, the screams of people panicking even the voice of the guy in red trying to calm the girl in pink down. She didn’t want to hear any of it; the flickering lights didn’t make anything better. Slowly she sank to the floor her hands covering her ears, eyes closed, silently praying that this, whatever it was, would be over in the next second. Gwen tried to steady her breathing not allowing bad or negative thoughts to enter her head.

A voice broke through her hands; she glanced up and saw Oliver extending a phone in her direction. She looked at him for a long moment and snatched the phone from him, muttering a low thank you. Her hands were shaking; it took her a few tries to press the correct numbers. Gwen chewed her bottom lip waiting for the dialing to end, to hear her dad’s voice. No answer. Gwen hit redial several times over. Each time it was the same, no answer. She handed the phone back to Oliver, “Nothing.” she muttered. “He’s probably in the basement and can’t hear the phone.” she said trying to sound optimistic. “The man never could figure out how to work a cell phone or any piece of modern technology.” Gwen attempted to smile; it was forced and strained across her face.

She went back to sitting on the floor, observing the others she shared the cellar with. Oliver’s friends were both there and so was Jack. Gwen felt bad for the girl in pink; she seemed to be taking this entire experience the worst. Her eyes were sympathetic as she watched the guy in red stay by her, he had offered up his ipod. Gwen smiled a little inside. That was really nice. There was another guy she hadn’t noticed in the shop before he wore silver. Gwen starred at him longer then the others, following him back and forth as he paced.

When Oliver began to head up, Gwen eagerly got to her feet and followed right behind him. She planned on heading right home, well to her dad’s house. Her small hope crumbled as she and the others stepped outside. Briarwood looked like a war zone. Buildings didn’t even resemble buildings anymore, cars were flipped, tossed around, benches branches of trees. Anything that was light enough was thrown elsewhere no longer sitting in its original place. But what made things worse was that there was nobody else around. It was like the six of them were the only ones left.

A cold shiver ran down Gwen’s spine. Oliver screaming didn’t help matters. It just echoed back, no one replied to his call. Then the guy in red had to try and find a reason for no signs of life other then themselves, Gwen quickly became annoyed. She shot him a look for a moment before turning to Jack. He appeared to be on the edge of losing it; she could see panic in his eyes. Gwen walked over and bent down next to him, “Hey, you alright?” her voice was shaky, not really hiding the fact that she wasn’t doing so fine herself.

Oliver Colt Haynes

Holding back the pain and tears as much as he could, he turned to Danica when she kneeled down beside him. ''I'm sorry, It's just...Thinking about everyone who lives here, where exactly could everyone hide?'' He spoke, trying not to think of the worst possible outcome. When she took both of his hands, a slight burst of relief surged through his body. If not for his friends, and the others that were there with him, he would have probably lost it completely. ''Thanks guys'' He whispered and then got back to his feet and looked around at the baron city, crumbled into pieces. He had only seen things like this on the news when a storm had hit somewhere, and it had the same outcome.

The wind had started to get stronger, but Oliver ignored it. Dust blew passed quite quickly and Oliver crossed his arms, blocking his hands from the dust just incase the cuts on his hands might get infected, and that wasn't what he wanted. He looked at the others who seemed to be just as worried as he did, but Tom was probably the most calmest of the group. But it wasn't no suprise to Oliver. Tom was always the one to think positive, and try to get others to think the same way. He shook his head and turned to face the direction where they came this morning from Planet Music. Philip, their boss popped into his mind. Though knowing him, he was probably hiding under his desk where he spent most of the late nights sleeping on. He looked up above them, the clouds were slowly gathering again and this time they were much darker than before. ''I think it's coming again'' Oliver gulped and turned to the others. Then suddenly, the group shook beneath them. He stumbled back and forth trying to keep his balance. In the distance the sound of what sounded like a marching army was coming thier way. He turned around with a smile on his face, feeling
