Welcome RyanRXP, thank you for your time. This interview will consist of 15 questions or more.

This interview should be completed within a week, but at the same time there are a few situations that may cause delay in completion. These situations include school, work, family events, emergencies, computer problems, etc. If one occurs just let me know through this thread or via Private Message, and we can continue this interview on a later date. I will let you know if anything in my life comes up as well.

Note that personal questions will not be asked in this interview.

I think I have covered everything so let us begin :D

Your username; can you tell everyone the origin of your name? How you came up with it? Does it have a meaning to fan fic, or character you made up, or someone in Power Rangers?

My name is just my real name(Ryan) and my arcade name(RXP)

In the arcade I wanted to make sure it was me, so I put and "X" in my initials to easily tell if it was me.

So I now put RXP in about everything(I even used to have it on my shoes)

Name your top 5 favorite seasons of Power Rangers. Why are they your favorites? Did you like the villain's for these seasons? Is there anything you might slightly change about it?
If you do not have a top 5, list as many of your favorites as possible.

Yea, but the name thing kind of died down, a little, in High School.


My top 5 seasons:

1. In Space, I feel that it had the best villain and the deepest story, and it had a great cast.

2. MMPR S1. It had so much more in it then any other season, it had the best group of rangers(in my opinion) and it had the most episodes, 60(almost twice of what we get now) Plus it had the most amount of character development(in a single season)

3. MMPR S3. It had a great story, great cast, and it had MMPR green vs. MMPR white.

4. MMPR S2. This goes back to the cast again

5. Time Force. It had a great cast, great story, and it had some cool fights, like the others in my top 5(I forgot to write that in on them)

A great evil is loose. It's your job to construct a ranger team. Out of all the rangers available from all the different Power Ranger/Sentai seasons, which ones would you want on the team? These can be from each season and you can have whoever you like, so Five Rangers one Sixth ranger Or SPD style and have 8.
In addition, why you would chose them as well, what makes them good enough?

Red=Jason
He is one of the best leaders, and has more episodes as a red ranger than any one else(89)

Blue=Billy
He is the smartest ranger, and was a very underrated fighter.

Light Blue/Blue #2=Tori
She is a ninja(what else needs to be said?) plus I didn't want it to all be MMPR

Pink=Kim
She is underrated. She was actually smart, and one of the shows best fighters

Yellow=Lili
I had Trini on top of my yellow list for 15 years, but Lili can do everything Trini can, plus she is a better fighter.

Green/6th=Tommy
I loved him as green, he was so much of a better character back then(compared to every other Tommy) he use to always be the one to pull off jokes

Thus far which Power Ranger/Super Sentai team up has been your favorite? Why is it your favorite? What has made it your favorite? Was there anything that the team up was lacking? Explain.

[RyanRXP]

My favorite was the In Space/Lost Galaxy team up.

It was the only team up that had any impact on the season, and it brought back the Psychos.

That was a cool girl power team up :p

In Power Rangers, we are seeing a lot more Rangers with genetic powers, which one that appeared in the show would you want and why? What would you do with it? Would you use it for personal gain? Would you tell anyone about your gift?

[RyanRXP]

I would want Jack's walk through walls power. That way I will never have to worry about my dorm rooms lock being broken again(I hate card keys) Also I would use it to steal from candy machines:)

Plus it would be so cool to not have to use a door.

That would be a good reason to destroy all keys, they're evil lol.

Out of all the Rangers who is your favorite and why what is so great about them? Did they do anything that you really liked about them more? Would you change anything about them?

All keys but my car keys:D

But my favorite ranger is Jason.

He has always been my favorite

He was a very good leader, and had almost all the qualities I think of when I think of a leader(Including knowing when to step down)

He also had the most episodes as red ranger.

Plus he is the only one to go up against Goldar in an unmorphed fight(back when Goldar was the ultimate evil general)

P.S. I love in Zeo how he pulls Tommy aside and says he is not trying to become the leader(a nice passive aggressive insult, as Tommy came in as white and took over for Jason)

Nah, you give those to me lol. Yeah...I actually would had fought back if I was him during MMPR, it was extremely unfair.

Do you watch any Sentai? If so do you like to watch some before a new season of PR starts? Which Sentai seasons have you seen? What is there about Sentai that you like that you wished they would do in PR?
If you have not seen any Sentai, would you like to? If not, why?

I don't watch Sentai.
I tried to get into it, but I just couldn't.
I don't know why.

But I will never watch a season of sentai before Power Rangers came out(I want to be surprised)

Well they change it a lot so..

What is the earliest Power Rangers memory you have? Was it watching the show? Getting some PR merchandise? What was it that made you keep watching?

My oldest memory is watching the second episode, when it first aired.

I don't remember watching the first one, but I probably did.

Good memory -.-..compared to me lol.

SPD gave us our first female red ranger, yet she was evil. What are your thoughts and feelings of having a female red ranger leading the main team? Leading the side of good. What are your thoughts and feeling of having a female lead the main team for an entire season? Would you like to see another female red ranger? Do you think having one would go well with the fans? Do you think it would go well with the marketed audience (little kids)? Do you think it would go well with hard core fans (members of discussion boards)? Do you think Disney should make the next red ranger female even though in Sentai the ranger is male? Do you think they should wait for Sentai? Explain.

I am all for a female red ranger, as long as we don't get another Jen. By which I mean a person who just yells and never joins in with group activities. I think she was a horrible leader, and until she stepped down that she became a true member of the team.

If she is the leader, she shouldn't have to be bossy. The only females that were at any point leaders(Taylor/Jen) were bossy. I think they should be more confident, than bossy.

As for waiting for Sentai, I don't think we should. I don't see Japan doing this any time soon. Also I don't feel that the target audience would ever notice if the character is male in the Sentai footage. I don't know anyone who noticed that Trini's counterpart was a guy(until someone tells them)

Also I have always said that Power Rangers needs to take chances and move away from the base footage. Sentai is made for Japan, so Power Rangers should be made for Americans, and this would help push it away from Japan.

I seriously think they have issues about trying something new.

Did you like the fact of the original rangers leaving? Did it make you sad to see them go? Or were you happy about it? What did you think of the replacements? And what did you think about the rest leaving in later on in Turbo? What are your thoughts about this?

[RyanRXP]

I think that the show would have been better if the original 6 stayed, but they got very good replacements.

As for Turbo, I say that was a very good change. I didn't really like the original Turbo rangers, and the replacements were better actors(I say JDF can't act for his life) Also it was time for Tommy, Adam, and Kat to leave.

Which villains in Power Rangers do you like the most? Which ones do you hate the most and why? Which Villain do you think beat the rangers more then any other one? Which one do you think would have been better in another season for example the villain in SPD might have been better in IS.

I liked Astronema the most. I think that she may have been the most evil villain in the show's history(since Zedd was less evil from S3-Space)

The one I hated the most was Lothor. He just didn't seem evil at all, plus he was portrayed as a dumb character.

As far as who beat the rangers the most that would be the psychos, but if we are talking about main villains then Koragg. He seemed to be one step ahead of every one.

I can't say who would have been better in another season. All of the good ones were good largely because of the season.

Do you like when a ranger team starts off with 5 and eventually is joined by a 6th ranger? Or do you like it when a team starts with 3 and eventually is joined by two or more? Explain within detail the one you prefer

[RyanRXP]

I prefer when they start with 5.

I know that with 3 you get to know the core team better, but you never get to know the extra rangers.

For example, in Jungle Fury, we get to know the core 3 very well, but by the time we get to Dom, and then the Spirit rangers, it is just not enough time to develop every one, and we still don't have a handle on who Dom is.

I think they have to go back to the original formula of have 5 friends make up the main team. That way, you don't have to waste episodes with trying to get them to work together. MMPR spent a total of 4 episodes developing the team, and by episode 3, you knew that they were close friends, and they were starting to develop Alpha's character.

Overdrive took 10 episodes to get the team developed, more than twice it took MMPR(and Overdrive had half the season MMPR s1 had)

But if I had to choose between 10 episodes to get the team developed, or having only 3 developed, and two semi-developed characters, I would take the team that starts with 5, and takes time to develop.

Both kinda have their ups and downs.

What aspect of Power Rangers is your favorite? (The posing, Zords, helmets, etc?)

It was the fighting, but now it is all CGI and wires.
I think that I keep on watching out of hope that Koichi will not mess them up.

Jungle Fury started out doing a good job with the fighting, but then it started using too much CGI and wires(but at least they are keeping that bike out)

Good to know I'm not the only one having issues with that bike.

If you could create a Power Ranger season what kind of PR would you have, where would it be set, what year, what color be the leader, how many rangers? What would the villain be like?

[RyanRXP]

I would make a season based either in space(again) or in cyber space.

For the space theme, I would have them fighting on different planets.

But if I had Disney's budget, I wouldn't do the space one(not enough money for sets) so I'd go with the cyberspace theme.

For the cyberspace theme, the rangers would have to be defending the internet, as almost everything uses the internet.

The villains would fight on both Earth and in cyberspace.

I would also allow for more outside the box thinking, meaning it wouldn't be the same formula, and would use less zords. I think that less zords means that you can fit in more story.

I would use 4 core rangers, and 1 extra ranger after 16 episodes(or half the season)
Why 4 core rangers? Lets just say it is the childhood TNMT fan comming out.
I would have Red/Black/Pink/Blue, with Green coming later.
Also the core would be made up of 2 guy and 2 girls(I don't like having ony one girl)
The leader would be Red, and it would take place in mordern day.

The vilains would look like the normal villains, but the evil leader would be human-like.

If you could create a Power Ranger team made up of Villains who and why?

I wouldn't call it a Power Ranger team, but if I was to make a team of villains...
Goldar
Scorpina
Rita
Zedd
Zeltrax

They should be able to stay loyal enough to do some damage.

Zedd can lead
Rita can let him lead(while trying to take over)
Goldar is just a good soldier
Scorpina is another good soldier
Zeltrax would make a good contrabution to the team.

Haha seeing them constantly fight would be awesome.

If you could make an adult version of PR more grown up so you could have more action and blood or swearing, what would you do to make it more for an older audience and what season would like to make as an mature season for adults? Also would you re-cast the same cast or pick new people?

[RyanRXP]

I would go with SPD. I feel that that would have been a great season to be more mature.

I would recast almost everyone(I didn't like that season) because I feel that they couldn't do more mature roles. Plus I would add 1 or 2 non-human rangers.

I would completely get rid of Mora and Morgana, along with Syd and Bridge(I hate those two) None of them could ever work with a more mature season(especially Bridge)

I would put in blood/injuries, and I would have gone more into SPD as an orginization. Also I would have gone more into A-squald, as they were never really explored(as characters)

Wow, someone that doesn't like Bridge, that's so rare.

If you where asked to be a ranger in real life, which Villain would you want to battle, which PR outfit, which Ranger, which mentor and where about’s would you set it?

I would want to fight the Knasty Knight.

I would want Zordon as a mentor.

It would be set in Minnesota, in the winter(I want fight in the snow)

I don't know what you mean by which ranger, and which ranger outfit.

If I had to pick the outfit, I would pick MMPR green(coolest outfit)

Ok if you were a villain in PR, what kind of villain would you be? Would you have any powers?
Also we all know Villains always lose but in this case you will win, so what is your plan for destroying the Power Rangers and also which team would you like to destroy?

I would have magic powers.

My plan would be to blow up the Earth(save me a ton of problems)

I would destroy all of the teams, but I would enjoy the fact that the Overdrive rangers are being destroyed the most.

Don't put count down on the bomb if you're using one lol.

For you to think about, you think being red ranger, in other words leader, is decided by gender and/or looks, or by capacity, leadership, and/or by a good heart?

Up until Time Force the leader was based on leadership.

I would have to make the red ranger a good leader.

Would you ever like to see a ranger go evil? Like is the villain in a new season?
If so which one and why? What do you think would make a ranger want to be a bad guy and fight for evil?
Or a ranger chose the side of evil half way though and season and stick with it, like they where betrayed or something else?

I would want Kim to come back and be evil.

I liked it when Kim was evil(Amy did a very good job with that)

I would want her to be evil until the end(but she doesn't get to help the rangers win)

I always liked mind control, maybe using some technology to do it.

She was awesome in the movie.

Which Power Rangers season had the best opening to a season and ending? What makes a good opening and Ending in your opinion?

[RyanRXP]

Not just in the movie, she was good when she was evil in the show.

Best ending is Lightspeed, it wasn't just the same old ending.

The best opening is Dino Thunder's. It set the tone for the whole show.

I like openings that explain things in the same way the rest of the show does. Mystic Force had a great opening, but it was nothing like the rest of the show, so it lost points in my mind.

For endings, I like it when things end. Lightspeed ended the whole organization. (SPD had a horrible ending, as nothing ended)

Lol, I barely remember the show..and she calling for Tommy...For SPD, you're right, it kinda seemed there was another season when they got called.

Is there an episode of Power Rangers that you do not like? Or is there something else in PR that annoys you?

MMPR S1=Jason, he is my #1 favorite(reasons on post #12)
MMPR S2=Zack, he was cool, and he was given more personality in S2
MMPR S3=Kim, the best Pink Ranger, and my favorite female ranger.
Zeo=Jason, again
Turbo=Ashley, I liked her personality
Space=Zhane, he was cool
LG=Damon, no clue why I like him, but I do
LR=Carter, good leader
TF=none, but if I had to pick, Wes, as he didn't take things to hard, even after he grew up at the end
WF=Ayssa(after rewatching it) there isn't much she can't do, I became a fan after "A Father's Footsteps)
NS=Blake, he was cool
DT=Ethan, he wasn't just another tech guy
SPD=Z, the only one I didn't have problems with
MF=Xander, I hated every one else
OO=none, but if I had to pick, Rose
JF=Unsure of them, but if I had to pick, Lily(might hate them, might like them)

I don't know who would be the team of rangers, but the villains would be the staff;):p:)


To be honest, I can't say who I would pick, and who I would not.

All I know is that I would not be one of them(With me on the team, it would lose fast)
