Welcome Question, thank you for your time. This interview will consist of 15 questions or more.

This interview should be completed within a week, but at the same time there are a few situations that may cause delay in completion. These situations include school, work, family events, emergencies, computer problems, etc. If one occurs just let me know through this thread or via Private Message, and we can continue this interview on a later date. I will let you know if anything in my life comes up as well.

Note that personal questions will not be asked in this interview.

I think I have covered everything so let us begin :D

Your username; can you tell everyone the origin of your name? How you came up with it? Does it have a meaning to fan fic, or character you made up, or someone in Power Rangers?

Question
09-21-2008, 09:14 PM
Hi Anahi, thanks for agreeing to ask me a bunch of non-invasive questions! :D

Question's a masked hero in the DC Comics Universe. The original was Vic Sage, a fellow. The newest is Renee Montoya, a chica. When I first registered for the original Rangertalk, the comic series 52 was in full swing, and Vic and Renee were two of the main characters. I fell in love with Vic Sage, already kind of half there from Justice League Unlimited, and decided to name myself after his fine personage.

He then died. (Spoiler alert!)

I went back and read a lot ofd his old series, though (written by my very favorits comic writer, Dennis O'Neil, no less!), and I still retain a healthy love of both the original Question, and his very fine replacement. Given, I resented her at first, but I think Renee's growing into the role well.

Haha :p. Cool, -.- for a weird reason at first when I saw your username in the main forum page I thought someone had a question lol.

Name your top 5 favorite seasons of Power Rangers. Why are they your favorites? Did you like the villain's for these seasons? Is there anything you might slightly change about it?
If you do not have a top 5, list as many of your favorites as possible.

Question

5. Power Rangers DinoThunder
It was like MMPR, but with an overplot! And by 'like MMPR', I mean 'MMPR in almost every way if it had a plot and still Tommy'. It edges MMPR out of the top five by fixing what MMPR did wrong - the aforementioned plot, zords looking less like toys and more like... well, zords, a villain I'm actually afraid of. Plus, Ethan reminds me of a black Question, and that's always a good thing.

4. Power Rangers Turbo
Disclaimer - No one likes the first half of Turbo. No one. That doesn't count. When I say PRT's in my top five, I mean everything after the keys got transferred to the new crew. The best part is how Justin was the veteran on the team, and yet still got shafted out of leading. No one ever talks about that. The Turbozords were epically cool, and I'll admit it here - I loved Trouble by the Slice.

3. Power Rangers in Space
Everything Turbo did wrong, Space managed to fix. We had an established cast of kickassery incorporated, a Mary Sue Red Ranger (Hey, it can be a plus! Everyone likes Mary Sues! It's why they create so many of them!), a sixth Ranger whose quest for ass led him into the villainess' bodice (let's be honest, though - I'd have gone there, too). As cool as car zords were, spaceship zords... well, that's gotta be every kid's wet dream. The plot was okay too.

2. Power Rangers Ninja Storm
Ninja Storm was EXTREME. I have a quirky sense of humor, as anyone who's spent four seconds talking to me will know, and Ninja Storm had a comic for every taste - Dustin's goofiness, Tori's cold indifference, Shane's sarcasm, and everyone's one liners. Even the villain - "This is the most fun I've had all season!"

1. Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue
PRLR was perfection. I loved every character, I was enthralled by every episode plot, I loved every weapon, I adored every zord. Carter remains my very favorite Ranger of all time, and the demons were among not only the most evil of villains, but the most justified (succeeded perhaps only by Ransik, but that's a discussion for another day).

A great evil is loose. It's your job to construct a ranger team. Out of all the rangers available from all the different Power Ranger/Sentai seasons, which ones would you want on the team? These can be from each season and you can have whoever you like, so Five Rangers one Sixth ranger Or SPD style and have 8.
In addition, why you would chose them as well, what makes them good enough?

Question
09-22-2008, 01:35 AM
Carter Grayson
Look, I'm sorry, but if a great evil is on the loose, do you want a leader that says "run up to within arm's length and kick it!", or a leader that says "Shoot the crap out of it until it's deceased!"

Yeah, I kinda thought so. It's amazing how many Reds that disqualifies, isn't it?

Trini Kwan
She's the cool, Zen member of the team. Nothing rattles Trini except heights and clowns trying to kidnap her cousin, and a calm head is always welcome.

TJ Johnson
The man's a strategist. While Carter's shooting the monster, assuming the shooting isn't working, TJ's the one you want discovering the fiend's true weakness, especially if it involves color blindness.

Karone [insert last name here]
She has a better understanding of the forces of evil than any other good-aligned being in the universe, and that insight could come in handy. Plus, I'd love to see her and Trini interact - maybe some sort of pseudo-counseling sessions, where the calm and collected Trini helps Karone deal with the guilt of everything she did as Astronema. I see these two as the best friends of the team.

Bridge Carson
He's a genius, he's a psychic, and he's the comedy relief. He is also The Bridge. These are all excellent things.

Tommy Oliver
Tommy has more experience battling the forces of evil than anyone else on the planet. Say what you will about Tommy himself, this is a huge advantage.

Haha nice, all of them work out for different needs.

Thus far which Power Ranger/Super Sentai team up has been your favorite? Why is it your favorite? What has made it your favorite? Was there anything that the team up was lacking? Explain.

Question
09-22-2008, 08:37 PM
I'm not huge on teamups, to be honest. Once the Fanboy Factorᵗᵐ is gone, most teamups are pretty lacking in... well, everything.

If I had to pick a best one, it'd probably be Thunder Storm. Given, it was really more of an epilogue to PRNS than it was a real episode of PRDT, but it managed to capture a lot of the fun and the humor of PRNS, more than any other teamup I've seen. Plus, I'm surprised PR took so long to get to the cliche "we fight and then we team up" story. It still wasn't really a good episode, but it was probably the best teamup.

In Power Rangers, we are seeing a lot more Rangers with genetic powers, which one that appeared in the show would you want and why? What would you do with it? Would you use it for personal gain? Would you tell anyone about your gift?

Question
09-23-2008, 04:32 AM
Does being a ninja count as a power? Because I'd love to be a ninja.

If not, I'd want a sonic scream like Kira's. I'd totally use it for my own personal gain -"Give me your wallet or I'll scream!" I don't think I'd mention it unless I had to.

Karol
09-23-2008, 10:58 PM
Lol, I can sooo see that person laughing.

Out of all the Rangers who is your favorite and why what is so great about them? Did they do anything that you really liked about them more? Would you change anything about them?

Question
09-24-2008, 12:29 AM
Carter!

Yeah, yeah, no one likes Carter except me. The man had class. When faced with demons, he shot them until they were dead; none of this "hand to hand combat" nonsense. And he wasn't afraid to put himself in danger to save his team and all of Mariner Bay - shooting the Super Demons point blank, tackling Queen Bansheera into the Shadow World.

I love Carter.

Do you watch any Sentai? If so do you like to watch some before a new season of PR starts? Which Sentai seasons have you seen? What is there about Sentai that you like that you wished they would do in PR?
If you have not seen any Sentai, would you like to? If not, why?

Question
09-24-2008, 03:15 AM
I've seen a handful of Sentai episodes here and there, but I've never watched it fo' realz. It's never done anything to make me want to watch it - everything about Sentai I'm pretty sure I'd like (i.e., robots and explosions) they do in PR already.

(Although since Rovang did awesome things with Take Flight, I've toyed with the idea of taking another early Sentai and adapting it into a fanfic... but I don't think I ever will.)

Karol
09-24-2008, 03:22 AM
Same here about the watching it part.

What is the earliest Power Rangers memory you have? Was it watching the show? Getting some PR merchandise? What was it that made you keep watching?

Question
09-24-2008, 11:42 PM
PR seemed like a passing fad to me when it first aired (not that I had the vocabulary to state it like that at the time), but my earliest memory was at my grandma's house watching the very first episode when it premiered. It was awesome, but not one of those 'life changing awesome' shows. Then, as is true for most fans of the show from back then, I saw Green with Evil, and adored it. Been a fan ever since.

Karol
09-24-2008, 11:53 PM
Wow, awsome, one of the few people that have the honor of saying that you saw the first episode when it aired.

SPD gave us our first female red ranger, yet she was evil. What are your thoughts and feelings of having a female red ranger leading the main team? Leading the side of good. What are your thoughts and feeling of having a female lead the main team for an entire season? Would you like to see another female red ranger? Do you think having one would go well with the fans? Do you think it would go well with the marketed audience (little kids)? Do you think it would go well with hard core fans (members of discussion boards)? Do you think Disney should make the next red ranger female even though in Sentai the ranger is male? Do you think they should wait for Sentai? Explain.

Question
09-25-2008, 12:56 AM
Gender doesn't matter in questions like this, and anyone who says otherwise is either sexist or a woman (if you don't find this sentence funny, you're in one of those groups). All I care about is that the Red Ranger, assuming he/she's the leader, is a competent leader who can sometimes amuse me because hey, it's a television show.

Karol
09-25-2008, 02:01 AM
You're right about that, not that anyone would actually agree over being sexist.

Would you ever like to see a ranger go evil? Like is the villain in a new season?
If so which one and why? What do you think would make a ranger want to be a bad guy and fight for evil?
Or a ranger chose the side of evil half way though and season and stick with it, like they where betrayed or something else?

Question
09-25-2008, 02:07 AM
I'd love an evil Ranger that was the actual villain for a season. I have no idea why this has never been done; imagine if Jarrod were possessed by Dai Shi, but had to steal RJ's black morpher to be a threat. That'd be seventeen different types of badass right there.

I dunno what would make a good Ranger turn evil. Maybe something like being on the wrong side of a love triangle, or the mentor sacrificing something that they loved, or something. I'd love to see one of the core Rangers turn out to be a double agent, working for the main villain all along but not revealed until maybe the teamup or something.

Karol
09-25-2008, 02:15 AM
Which Power Rangers season had the best opening to a season and ending? What makes a good opening and Ending in your opinion?

Question
09-25-2008, 02:38 AM
Lightspeed again!

Look, everyone's going to say C2D to this question. I'm going to say something slightly different - screw C2D. Screw it hard, and screw it long. What did C2D really accomplish? Zordon died, Karone lived, big space battle. Ooooh, alert the press!

Now lets talk about Lightspeed. We have a team of Rangers who were chosen because they were qualified, which we hadn't seen... ever. Zordon picked his Rangers either at random or based on who knew the rest of the team's identities! He deserved to die!

Ahem.

We had qualified Rangers chosen for their skills, we had an organization staffed by humans set out to defend humans. For the first time in PR history, we were doing the work our damned selves. No intergalactic sorcerer, no semi-sentient Quasar Sabers, no emotinonally stunted and probably lonely Red Ranger handing out morphers like prizes out of giant blue Crackerjack boxes, no handing the morpher to someone who reminded you of your dead lover (although this wouldn't happen until the next year). No, this was humans choosing who was best qualified to lead the fight, and equipping them with human technology that was probably reverse engineered from the remains of zords the previous Rangers never thought about cleaning up. Plus, Operation Lightspeed picked Carter, a fantastic choice that has not been matched before or since.

And the ending of the season was awesome too. Aquabase destroyed, zords either destroyed or captured by the villains, and Carter shoving a demon queen straight to Hell. Nothing says good times like this finale. Screw giant space battles; actual Hell!

Good season openings are two parts, introduce the Rangers, the mentor, the powers, and the mission so we have some idea of where we're going, and (this part is key) do not suck. Good finales... well, I just want them to amuse me. I'm not picky.

-.- Wow, so PRLR all the way huh?

Is there an episode of Power Rangers that you do not like? Or is there something else in PR that annoys you?

Question
09-26-2008, 02:29 AM
I dislike any episode where the Rangers are being exceptionally stupid. Forgetting a key weapon because it wasn't in the footage, acting out of character for no good reason, and other things of that nature. I can't come up with an example off the top of my head, but they exist, and they annoy me.

Oh, all of PROO! God, I hated everyone in PROO that wasn't Spencer.

Karol
09-26-2008, 11:28 AM
Which was your favorite ranger from each season? And only one, not two one you have to pick one! Just want to make it harder for you :p And why them?

Question
09-26-2008, 11:45 PM
What, reasons?!? Aw, man.

MMPR 1 - Trini. She's zen, she's cool headed, and she's so veyr, very underrated.
MMPR 2 - Trini again. See above.
MMPR 3 - Probably Tommy. He did keep the show afloat nearly singlehandedly, after all.

PRZ - Trey. So much unexplored potential with this character. He's a king who flew around rescuing people in need instead of being a king. What's that about? I'll tell you what it's about. It's about being badass.

PRT - TJ. Easily one of the best leaders of PR history. Sure, he trashed the zords, but he'd been a Red Ranger half a year and led the team up against one of the most powerful evils in the universe. That's no small potato!

PRiS - TJ again. Above, but without the stresses of leadership. He played happily as second or possibly third in command, and I like to fanon that it's because he felt guilty about losing the Turbo arsenal. I'm using fanon as a verb here.

PRLG - Maya. I'm a dude, and she was a hot jungle girl. No stretch there.

PRLR - Hmm... let me think... CARTER! I believe I've explained this in above posts. Carter is my favorite Ranger ever.

PRTF - Wes. Second favorite Ranger. Sure, he may have come off as a spoiled rich kid playing at being a Ranger at first, but he matured into his role and led the team admirably. And yes, I call him the leader. Because, see, he was.

PRWF - Alyssa. She was like a watered down but perkier Trini. But still awesome in her own right!

PRNS - Tori. Best ninja of all! I loved her cool headed wit. As you may be able to tell, the level headed Rangers are my favorites.

PRDT - Tommy. Back in black, y'alls! He was new Zordon, taking up his former mentor's place in the PR universe, and there should have been some more looking into that, but hey, that's what fanfics are for.

PRSPD - Bridge. *shrug* He makes me laugh.

PRMF - Xander. How many Rangers try to finish their battles without violence? I count him and Cole, but Cole sucked.

PROO - If I had to choose, I'd say Ronnie. She was... well, nice to look at. I really didn't like any of them. Mack had a nice backstory, though.

PRJF - RJ. It's like they made Bridge a hippie mentor. How long has PR waited for a pothead Ranger? Too long, I say!

Karol
09-27-2008, 12:06 AM
Lol Cole doesn't count there.

For now I only have one more question. After this other members may ask you questions. Hope you had Fun!

If you could make a team of Power Rangers used from RT members who and why? Which team would you be? Would you have 6 rangers or more? Also would you use any for villains just for fun of course?

Question
09-27-2008, 01:40 AM
I did have fun!

I'm going to cheat for this question, though. Because I can.

Everyone I like is the Power Rangers. Everyone I don't like is the villains. Everyone I don't know well enough to have an opinion about are the Japanese extras that run away from monster attacks. If you want to know what group you fall into, I'm probably going to lie and say the Rangers.

edit: And Gerbil's the mentor. That'd be all sorts of crazy awesome.

Why do you have Ron Burgandy [sic] as your avatar?

Question
01-02-2009, 01:53 PM
He makes me laugh. Really no bigger meaning than that.
