I’ve tried my hand at fan fiction before, but--honestly-- I’ve never been much of a fanfic person. Couple that with a want to actually write a worthwhile fic and my annoying tendency to leave things unfinished and you have quite the frustrating bit of a quagmire. Giggity.
Anyway, since the remnants of my first--and so far, only-- attempt at PR fanfic sank with the wreckage of the old thread, I thought perhaps this might give me a chance to possibly revisit the story and iron out some of the kinks that have been bothering me and keeping me from moving forward with the project. So, without further ado, here is the remastered outline for my original fan-season, Power Rangers: Virtual Troopers. Comments, questions, suggestions, et al are greatly appreciated.

Power Rangers:
Virtual Troopers
During a summer vacation to Reefside, identical twin sisters Trish and Tess O’Dea hang out with their cousin Conner McKnight and his group of friends (who are secretly the Dino Thunder Power Rangers). While there, expert gamer Ethan James meets novice gamer Trish and he gives her a copy of this game he’s been working on as a going away present. The title? Power Rangers: Generations. Back in their hometown of Oceanview, Trish gets together with her friends Marco De Luca, J.T. Wong, and Eddie Gracie to play the game while Tess has been grounded after misbehaving in Reefside. As Trish and Tess share a room, Tess was forced to be a part of the party. As the game starts to get really good, a strange message pops up on the screen, stating simply “We Need Five Teenagers With Attitudes. Do You Want To Be A Power Ranger?”, with the choices “YES” and “NO” written on buttons underneath. Trish, as prompted by her friends, picks “YES”. Suddenly, all five teens are sucked into a fantasy world through the computer where they meet Motherboard and her helpmate, Wiki. They are told they are needed to stop a new wave of evil-- Megabyte, the Overlord and his Viral Kingdom.
Megabyte is a computer virus with a mind all of his own. Secretely created by an unknown teen attending Oceanview High, Megabyte now strives to combine the Cyber Realm and the Real World, corrupting both so that he may rule over all. With a never ending army of Noids and Viruses under his command, if something isn’t done soon, he will no doubt gain the power he so desperately seeks.
So what’s going to happen? Will Trish, J.T., Marco, Eddie, AND Tess take on the mantle as the newest generation of Rangers or will they leave the job to someone else? What do you think?!
Here’s the Rundown on this season’s team…
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Virtual Troopers
http://i147.photobucket.com/albums/r312/Thisspaceforrent/Virtual-Troopers_CharacterSheet_TSF.png
Trish O’Dea -- Red V.T. Power Ranger:
Patricia Denise “Trish” O’Dea has always been sort of a tomboy for all of her sixteen years. She dresses somewhere between your typical Emo girl and a thirteen year-old boy. She’s a little on the geeky side (glasses, good grades, the ‘whole nine’), but she’s also very competitive. Trish, like her cousin Conner McKnight, loves soccer, but her love for video games is even greater, as she is a champion gamer. During a visit to Reefside to see her favorite cousin, his friend Ethan gives her this cool new game he’s been working on. Unbeknownst to either Ethan or Trish, this game will change lives forever.
The Courageous Leader
Upgrades into the Vermillion VirtuaPlus Power Ranger
J.T. Wong -- Blue V.T. Power Ranger:
Jonathan Taylor “J.T.” Wong has been Trish’s best “guy-friend” since they were in diapers. He’s always been there for her, and has had her back in many a bullying situation. They’ve been huge gamers throughout their teenage years, so when Trish gets a new game and invites her friends over to play…well, the rest is history.
The Loyal Best Friend
Upgrades into the Cerulean VirtuaPlus Power Ranger
Marco De Luca-- Yellow V.T. Power Ranger:
Marco Giovanni De Luca is the quintessential class clown who loves to skateboard...especially in places he isn’t supposed to. He’s raucously silly, insatiably goofy, and an all around funny guy…but he can get real serious, real fast. Like, when his friends are in danger, for instance. Marco became friends with Trish, J.T., and Eddie during Freshman year. He’s only friends with Tess through default. Now, through one life-changing event, he will be bonded to her and the rest of the gang forever.
The Prankster Troublemaker
Upgrades into the Saffron VirtuaPlus Power Ranger
Eddie Gracie-- Green V.T. Power Ranger:
Edison Dwayne “Eddie” Gracie is very smart…almost freakishly smart. He’s nearly a genius, but he’s the kind of genius who’s too self-conscious to know how much of a genius he really is. His friends Trish, J.T., and Marco always try to reassure him. He’s very geeky (a huge Power Rangers and Beetleborgs fan), but he’s no push over. He has a black belt in Tae Kwon Do, after all. Now, he’ll be putting that belt to some really good use, both inside and outside of the Cyber Realm.
The Brains of The Opperation
Upgrades into the Viridian VirtuaPlus Power Ranger
Tess O’Dea-- Pink V.T. Power Ranger:
Theresa Nicole “Tess” O’Dea and her identical twin sister are about as opposite as you can be. Trish isn‘t into many girly things. Tess, on the other hand, is a bona fide ballerina and fashion guru. Trish isn’t really that popular. Tess is the talk of the school. Pretty much, the only thing that these two had in common where their faces…that is, until Tess was grounded the weekend Trish and her friends discovered something that would change all of their lives.
The Spoilt Little Princess
Upgrades into the Crimson VirtuaPlus Power Ranger
Zeke Adair -- Black Viral Trance/ V.T. Power Ranger:
Ezekiel Andrew “Zeke” Adair moves to Oceanview a few weeks into the school year. First impressions would label him as your typical ‘Emo’ kid. Really quiet, introspective, and aloof…something about this kid is very strange. Perhaps it’s the fact that he wears nothing but black. Perhaps it’s the fact that he doesn’t have any friends…Or maybe it’s because he’s the Black Viral Trance Power Ranger, a brutal one-man army who nearly destroys the Virtual Troopers. Who knows?
The Mysterious Stranger
Upgrades into the Ebon VirtuaPlus Power Ranger
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Additional Arsenal and Powers:
V-Changers: Hand-held devices (resembling either D3s from Digimon, PDAs, or a handheld gaming device) powered by magically and technologically powerful Virtuatron Chips, with each chip representing an alchemic element. The call to Ranger Up is "Login, Logon, Game On!" When the Rangers morph, they begin by holding their V-Changers out in front of them with their right hand during “Login“. They bring that arm inward and across their chest in a downward slashing motion during “Logon“, and behind their right ear during “Game On!”. The morphing sequence is triggered by pressing A,B,A,B Start on their keypads, followed by the motions mentioned above and the call to morph.
Morphing Sequence: Suddenly, the Rangers are whisked away to a black screen crawling with scrawling matrix code in their ranger colors, their bodies glowing white. Circles of binary code manifest and encircle their waists, feet, and wrists. They compress, glow the ranger’s color, and solidify as belts, boots, and gloves. A line of binary, in each respective color, streaks across their chest and arms, temporarily flooding the screen with the ranger’s color. When the light dies down, the rangers are left with the final design upon their chests. They tilt their heads upward (and the camera changes angles) and the outline of their helmets float down and map themselves to the rangers’ heads. The matrix background fades away, and the Rangers drop into what appears to be the inside of a computer, a huge monitor screen behind them, showcasing their element. The rangers strike individual poses and pronounce their respective color, followed by the words ‘Virtual Power!’ The ranger powers are deactivated by saying either “Power Down!” or “Logoff!“.
Morphing Call: “Login, Logon, Game On!”
V-Coms : Wristwatch-styled communicators that help the Rangers speak to each other when they are separated. Though powered by the same technology as the V-Changers, the V-Coms really have no other known function…other than teleporting the Rangers from place to place.
V-Ray Lasers: Color-coded laser-blasting side-arms carried by every Virtual Trooper.
VAC Blasters: Color-coded laser-pulse blasting guns carried by the VirtuaPlus Rangers in combination with the V-Ray Lasers.
The Virtua Weapons: Powerful weapons bestowed to the Virutal Troopers once they gain their morphing powers.
Virtua Saber- An energized red light-saber that Trish wields to take out evil. Forms the gun part of the team’s Virtua VAC Cannon. This mode, the normal mode, is known as the Virtua Blaze Cannon. Controls the element of fire.
Virtua Lance- An electric blue light-lance that J.T. wields to beat the bad guys. Connects to the bottom of the Virtua Blaze Cannon and adds to the fire power. Controls the element of water.. Can be alternated with the Virtua Saber to form the Virtua Wave Cannon.
Virtua Sai- A pair of electric light-sai weilded by Marco. These are attached to the sides of the Virtua Blaze Cannon. They control the element of electricity. They can be connected and added on top of the Virtua Saber to form the Virtua Shock Cannon.
Virtua Shield- The base of the Virtua Blaze Cannon, the Virtua Shield is an electric green shield wielded by Eddie. Controls the element of earth. When inverted, the Virtua Shield transforms the Virtua VAC Cannon into the Virtua Quake Cannon.
Virtua Crossbow- Usually attracted bellow the Virtua Saber in the configuration of the Virtua VAC Cannon, this is a hot pink energy crossbow wielded by Tess. It controls the element of air. If it is sat on top of the Virtua Saber, it becomes the Virtua Breeze Cannon.
Viral/Virtua Scythe- Created by Megabyte, Zeke’s Viral Scythe controls the element of darkness. By itself (while Zeke is viral), the scythe has one very powerful attack: the Shadow Slash. When purified, Zeke’s scythe can attach to the top of the Virtua VAC Cannon to become the Virtua Blazing Shade.
The VAC Pack: Discovered by Trish after defeating Terminax and his Viral Vipers, the VAC Pack (VAC stands for Vaccinating, Antivirus Cure-all) provides the Virtual Troopers new Upgrade abilities. This transforms all of the Rangers into the VirtuaPlus Troopers: Vermillion, Cerulean, Saffron, Viridian, Crimson, and Ebon.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Vehicles
Virtuatron Cycles: These five futuristic two-wheeled vehicles resemble motorcycles and create walls of colored light as they travel. These walls can become corporeal if needed, to create anything from a barricade to a bridge. They are as fast as lightening and handle with unbelievable accuracy. (they look like the light-cycles from Tron)
Virtuatron Surfer: Zeke’s mode of transport, modeled after the Space Rangers’ Galaxy Gliders.
----------------------------------------------------------------
Virtua-Zords:
The Rangers’ giant mechs/vehicles they use to fight enlarged monsters. The Virtua Flyer, Virtua Diver, Virtua Racer, Virtua Dumper, and Virtua Rescuer all combine to form the Virtuamax Megazord. The Black Ranger’s Virtua Dozer can transform into it’s own megazord: the Virtuamax Dozerzord.
Virtua Flyer- a giant gyroplane driven by Trish as the Red V.T. Ranger. This gyroplane transforms to become the torso and head of the Virtuamax Megazord.
Virtua Diver- a giant hovering submarine driven by J.T. as the Blue V.T. Ranger. This submarine transforms to become the left arm of the Virtuamax Megazord
Virtua Racer- a giant racecar driven by Marco as the Yellow V.T. Ranger. This racecar transforms to become the right leg of the Virtuamax Megazord
Virtua Dumper- a giant dump truck driven by Eddie as the Green V.T. Ranger. This dump truck transforms to become the left leg of the Virtuamax Megazord.
Virtua Rescuer- a giant ambulance van driven by Tess as the Pink V.T. Ranger. This ambulance van transforms to become the right arm of the Virtuamax Megazord
Viral/ Virtua Dozer- a giant drill dozer driven by Zeke both as the Viral Trance Ranger and the Black V.T. Ranger. This drill dozer transforms to become (first) the Viral Trance Drillerzord and (later) the Virtuamax Dozerzord.
Virtuamax Megazord:
When all five of the Virtual Trooper’s zords combine, they create an incredible fighting force for good. The Virtuamax Megazord is armed with a Geyser Cannon (as provided by the Blue Ranger’s Virtua Diver) and the Virtuamax Blade.
Virtua VAC Megazord:
The VAC Pack unlocks the secret of not only stronger Ranger powers, but also new zords: The VAC Voyagers (each shaped like a space-shuttle), which combine to create the Virtua VAC Megazord. The Virtua VAC Megazord is armed with a Cursor-Crusher, a space-shuttle shaped weapon that shoots two powerful rockets, formed by the front of one of the VAC Voyagers.
VirtuaPlus Megazord:
Zeke’s Dozerzord and the gang’s VirtuaZords combine to create the ultimate Megazord. Armed with an enormous drill, this megazord dispatches it's enemies in an instant. It has the ability to create small Firewalls to incase it’s foes in.
Virtuamax Ultrazord:
Every zord in the Rangers' arsenal combine to form the biggest gattai of the series. This is the Rangers’ most powerful mech.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Friends, Allies, & Acquaintances
Motherboard/"MoBo"--The Mentor:
Sometimes referred to as MoBo, Motherboard is basically the ‘Zordon’ of this season. She and her assistant Wiki live within the relative safety of the Rangers’ home base, the . HQ (read “Dot HQ“). With her VirtuaBrowser, MoBo watches out for Cyber Realm attacks within the Web as well as Real World threats and gives the Rangers advice when they need it. Later on in the season, it is discovered that MoBo has a Real World identity…which turns out to be someone very unexpected.
Wiki-- The Mentor‘s Assistant:
Wiki is a strange little automoton (a mixture of Alpha 5 and Circuit) who is the constant companion to Motherboard. This kind-hearted android is always there to assist the Rangers at any turn. Wiki has the same personality as the original Alpha and is basically the back-up for Motherboard, giving the gang the 411 one they need it.
Josephine O‘Dea “Mom”-Former Red Striker / Platinum Purple Beetleborg:
Unbeknownst to her twin daughters, single mother Josephine O’Dea (formerly Jo McKnight) used to be in the superhero business herself. As a young girl, she, her brother Drew, and their friend Roland discovered alien devices that transformed them into the now-defunct superhero group known as the Beetleborgs, thought by most to be only a fictional group of comic book characters. As the season progresses, Jo becomes more and more suspicious of her daughters, until finally she uses her “Bug Out” ability to spy on them. She discovers their secret and reveals her own in a very special team-up episode.
Andrew McKnight “Uncle Drew“-Former Blue Stinger / Chromium Gold Beetleborg:
Unbeknownst to sons Conner and Erik and his twin nieces, Trish and Tess, Andrew McKnight (also known as Drew), his younger sister Jo, and their friend Roland all used to save the world as the superhero group known as the Beetleborgs. Only he, his sister, and best friend know the secret as to why no one remembers their heroics…
Heather Samuels-McKnight-- The Invisible Mother:
Andrew's ex-wife and Conner and Eric's mother. Only spoke of in passing.
Erik McKnight--The Struggling Ninja:
Erik is Conner’s somewhat accident-prone twin brother who attended the Wind Academy where the former Wind Rangers have taken on teaching capacities. He was briefly expelled due to poor grades, excessive tardiness, and overall recklessness. However, he is now appealing to Sensei Watanabe to rejoin the student body. He may or may not make an appearance.
Roland Williamson “Mr. Williamson“-Former Green Hunter / Titanium Silver Beetleborg: Unbeknownst to the kids who like to hang out at ZOOM, Inc., Mr. Williamson (first name Roland), actually used to be a superhero himself, and has spotted many a behaviorism in the gang that he is quite familiar with. After their adventures as Beetleborgs were over, Roland retold the story as a comicbook under the pen name "Art Fortunes". To this day, only he, Jo, and Drew remember how it really was to be superheroes.
The Dino Thunder Rangers
http://i147.photobucket.com/albums/r312/Thisspaceforrent/DINOTHUNDER_Quartet_VT_TSFR.png
Conner McKnight--The Red Dino Thunder Ranger:
Trish and Tess’s cousin. Conner (unbeknownst to his cousins) is the Dino Thunder Tyrannosaurus Red Ranger. He and his friends Kira, Trent, and Ethan meet his cousins and hang out at the Cyber Café during the summer. Conner himself has a twin brother, Erik, who is attending a secret Ninja Academy somewhere in California, near the city of Blue Bay Harbor.
Kira Ford --The Yellow Dino Thunder Ranger:
Kira became fast friends with Trish during the twins’ summer vacation in Reefside, but she wasn’t a big fan of Tess. Kira is the Dino Thunder Pterodactyl Yellow Ranger (but the twins’ have no idea).
Ethan James -- The Blue Dino Thunder Ranger:
Ethan has recently begun completion of his first game, entitled Power Rangers: Generations. He and Trish spark up a close friendship, and he gives her a copy of his game. Unknown to him, however, the malicious Megabyte has hacked his system and tampered with the product, inadvertently tangling up the game data, the infected data, and a direct portal into cyberspace. What results will be quite interesting….Ethan is the Dino Thunder Triceratops Blue Ranger…but the twins don’t know that. Yet.
Trent Fernandez(-Mercer)-- The White Dino Thunder Ranger:
Trent, secretly the Dino Thunder White Drago Power Ranger, is slightly taken aback when Conner’s cousin Tess tries to hit on him (which didn’t go over very well with Kira). He makes an appearance later on in the season when the Dino Thunder Rangers meet the Virtual Trooper Rangers.
Pink Possitive
http://i147.photobucket.com/albums/r312/Thisspaceforrent/TSFR_PRVT_PinkPositive.png
Regina Lake--The Queen 'B':
Oceanview’s resident ‘mean girl’, Regina is forever picking on Trish and trying to outdo Tess at every given opportunity. Former best friends with Tess, a significant falling-out which had something to do with Trish made the two girls bitter rivals. Regina is the head of "Pink Positive", a group of 'popular' high school students who wear nothing but the color pink. She’s a bully, but she’s the first to run at any sign of trouble. Often, she and her ‘assistants’ Reese and Chrissie end up in zany situations due to her attempts to humiliate Tess and her friends.
Lisa Vega-- The Girl With A Secret:
Lisa moved to Oceanview from Blue Bay Harbor her sophomore year, and along with her she brought a couple of secrets. One that only Tess knows, and one that NO ONE knows. Tess and Lisa remain best friends, even though Lisa is still technically a member of Pink Positive. Her character plays a very important part in the story...but that won't be revealed until later.
Chrissie Dumas-- The Supposed Airhead:
Chrissie is a reluctant memeber of Regina's posse because she fears what might happen to her if she weren't. Chrissie isn't the brightest crayon in the box, but she's smart enough to know that you don't upset Regina Lake and expect to get away with it. Chrissie plays along with Regina's mean-spirited antics only because she knows what could happen to her if she doesn't.
Reese Hart -- The 'Divo' With An Edge:
Regina's constant confidant, Reese is the effete, prissy guy that is always at the beckoned call of the second most popular girl in school. Reese may ostensibly be under Regina's finger in the begining of the story, but through the course of the season we will discover that there is much more to him than an impecable fashion sense and a finely feathered quaf.
----------------------------------------------------
Villains:
http://i147.photobucket.com/albums/r312/Thisspaceforrent/Virtual-Troopers_Villains_MegabyteP.png
Megabyte--The Big Bad:
A malignant computer virus that initially infected specific gaming communities, Megabyte took on a life of his own and now seeks to rule over both the Cyber Realm and the Real World. Megabyte possesses great physical strength (along with vicious Wolverine-like extendable claws) and an exceedingly cunning intellect. In many ways he is a megalomaniacal dictator; his only purpose is the amassing of power and control. Megabyte has no scruples and constantly takes advantage of other characters in order to achieve his own ends, even enslaving & torturing the Pink Virtual Trooper to siphon her power for use as a weapon. He has a brutal, almost psychopathic nature and speaks with a deep British accent (a la Tim Curry).
http://i147.photobucket.com/albums/r312/Thisspaceforrent/Virtual-Troopers_Villains_Hexadecim.png
Hexadecimal-- The HTML Sorceress:
The insane Hexidecimal is a Viral Sorceress who is in direct opposition of Megabyte…who we eventually learn is her elder brother. At one time, they both comprised the super-virus Gigabyte, but split due to some unknown reason. She constantly wears a mask, changing them through waving her hand in front of her face or turning around so the viewer never really sees her change masks. In all practicalities, her vast collection of masks shows her facial expression (thereby giving her a harlequin-like appearance).
The expressions shown in these masks range from happy, scheming, to a downright homocidally insane expression. Without her masks, Hexadecimal would face certain doom, as her incredible power would spread unchecked until everything was destroyed. Though a benign virus, Hex does enjoy causing random chaos, and will release random creatures from the Web to reap havoc both within the Cyber Realm and the Real World.
Scuzzy-- The Creepy Pet:
Hex’s familiar…A small floating creature fashioned after a computer-mouse. It’s face is a small computer screen.
http://i147.photobucket.com/albums/r312/Thisspaceforrent/Virtual-Troopers_HackAndSlashNEW.png
Hack & Slash -- The Bumbling Lackeys:
TO BE ADDED LATER.
http://i147.photobucket.com/albums/r312/Thisspaceforrent/NoidVarrients.png
Noids-- The foot soldiers commanded by Megabyte and Hexidecimal. Noids are the remnants of deleted game sprites. As such, they have no will of their own and will submit to the order of any (viral) being strong enough to control them...
I'll be adding more pics and stuff as I make it, so stay tuned for that.

Villains:
http://i147.photobucket.com/albums/r312/Thisspaceforrent/Virtual-Troopers_Villains_MegabyteP.png
