Once a Ranger: The Key to Time

The Story:

Legend speaks of an cosmic artifact with the ability to manipulate time; this artifact is known as the Time Cube. Many have tried to seek the history writing object hoping to form the galaxy in their image. However, the Ancients created the Time Guardian to prevent the cube from fallen into the wrong hands. For over two millenniums the Time Guardian successfully thwarted all attempts to use the Time Cube, that was until the arrival of Lord Gamma.

Lord Gamma, a space pirate fought the Time Guardian over control of the Time Cube. Having been fatally wounded by Lord Gamma, the Time Guardian used the last of his life force to break the cube into six pieces, scattering them across time and space. Lord Gamma following the trail of one of the pieces of the Time Cube arrives in present day Fairview bringing with him massive destruction.

A being known as the Watcher having seen the multiple futures in a Galaxy under Lord Gamma, breaks his rule of non interference by gathering current and former rangers. The Watcher commissions the Space, Time Force and Overdrive rangers for their talents needed to retrieve the six pieces of the Time Cube and prevent Lord Gamma from his goal of Galactic rule.

Can the rangers stop history from being rewritten?

There's the story discuss away. I'm open to any ideas and plots.

Here a few possible plots, as more cast members are added the plots will expand and change. I'm open to any and every story idea.

Ranger Recall: Former Rangers are gathered by the Watch to search for the six pieces of the time cube and stop Lord Gamma from rewriting history.

16: The Rangers have 16 mins to stop a space station from crashing in the Planet Chandra.

Ghosts of Ranger's Past: Lord Gamma finds a way to resurrect many of the rangers' old enemies.

Going out with a boom: Lord Gamma and the Rangers race to find one of time cube pieces they think is in Pompeii. However, both sides arrive in Pompeii on August 24, 79 AD, the infamous day Mount Vesuvius erupted.

Civil War: The Rangers track down another time cube piece to Planet Cortex, where a civil war has been declared over none other than the time cube piece.

Rangers of the High Sea: Another Lead finds the rangers on the water planet, Gorma. A planet terrorize by sea monsters.

Spread thin: Lord Gamma decides to invade on several different countries. The rangers attempt to liberate each country before moving on to the next but, find they must split up if they stand a chance of pushing back Lord Gamma. Meanwhile, Lord Gamma uses this time to get his hands on a time cube piece.

Princesses and Dragons- The rangers follow Lord Gamma to the time of King Arthur. King Arthur promises a magical gift for anyone who can rescue the princess from the evil Dragon, Tyria.

World War III: Lord Gamma manages to hack into different countries' missile defense programs. He threatens activate the missiles resulting in War World III if the rangers do not hand over their time cube pieces.

When Worlds Collide Pt 1 &2: Rangers head to Japan where they team up with Japan's superhero team Shinkenger to prevent Lord Gamma from obtaining the dragon's horn.

Family Tree: Lord Gamma's newest plan involves preventing the rangers' parents from meeting thus erasing the rangers from history.

One More Day: Bradley uses the time cube to originally see his mom once again but, then decides to prevent her death. What are the consequences of these actions?

(Conclusion of the series)

Stranded (1): Sparks manages to interfere with the ranger's vortex devices stranding them in prehistoric times. With no technology the rangers have to figure out a way to get back home.

To the Future (2): The ranger's vortex devices still on the fritz sends the rangers into future where it appears Lord Gamma has already won. Soon they realize Lord Gamma is no where to be seen. The rangers must decide if they should fight or return to the time when history changed.

Origins and Secrets Revealed (3): The rangers return to the precise moment Lord Gamma formed the time cube. The rangers discovered the true intentions of Lord Gamma and meet a mysterious new figure.

Time War (4): With the Time Cube in the hands of the new figure, all of time is altered. The rangers return to former time periods gathering an army of rangers and warriors to fight the new threat.

Rewriting History (5) In the series finale its the rangers vs a super powered Lord Gamma who will win? How we will look back on history?

Here are some new thoughts since the cast updates. These like the others are subject to change.

Detour: After weeks of fighting Lord Gamma and searching for the Time Cube, Tideus gets word of the Alien Ranger losing against the Krouk. Tideus and the other rangers return to Aquitar to aid the Alien Rangers. Once home Tideus has to decide if he should stay and fight or continue with Time Cube mission.

Family Reunion: Nick reunites with his Mother thought to be lost in the first wave of Venjix's attack in Angel Grove. However, Bradley notices weird things happen whenever Nick's mom is around. Where has she been all these months?

Clash of the Titans: Lord Gamma enlist the help of Spartan warriors to defeat the rangers.

The Beast Within: Trill uses a spell to turn Nick into a wolf monster that attacks the rangers.

Down to Yellow: Responding to a distress call on a barren planet the rangers are ambushed and captured all except for Tideus. Now it is up to Tideus to free the other rangers.

Doomsday: Enter the Ranger Slayers (1): Using a Time Cube piece Lord Gamma creates the Ranger Slayers to kill the rangers. In their first encounter the rangers find the ranger slayers to be superior fighters. The rangers are almost beaten to death.

Mighty Morphin Powerless Rangers (2): In their second confrontation the rangers find the ranger slayers tougher than before. Using a morphing jammer device designed by Trill the ranger slayers short out the rangers' morphing abilities.

On Borrowed Time (3): The Watcher informs the rangers if they draw on their life force they can morph. However, the longer the rangers stay morph the more likely the will use up their life force resulting in death. The rangers must destroy the ranger jammer before time runs out.

The Life and Death of Rangers (4): The Rangers reflect on their lives during a brutal battle with the ranger slayers. The rangers manage to destroy the rangers jammer but at what cost?

Rangers Unbound (5): With their powers restored and the loss of a friend the rangers tap into their powers like never before to attempt to defeat the ranger slayers. Will this new level of power be enough? Meanwhile Lord Gamma secures another piece of the Time Cube.

Thanks for the input. I see your pt regarding the one character centric episodes. I guess in fanfics and tv shows it's easier to pull off than in a rpg. I myself wouldn't have a problem reducing my playing time for one game but, I understand how others could get offended or feel excluded.

I think we should start with the current cast and add people as they become interested and accepted. Here are a few more plot ideas. Again I'm not married to any of these and are subject to changes with the other players' input.

25. The Bet- Zakksau, Trill, and Sparks each bet they can destroy the rangers. The trio plays a game of cat and mouse with the rangers on deserted planet.

26. Groovy Times: Zakksau introduces a nightmare drug during Woodstock that converts its users into energy. Sparks uses this energy to power a new weapon to wipe out the rangers.

27. Dentures and Diapers: Experimenting on the Time Cube pieces a freak accident occurs aging some of the rangers by 50 years and reverting others to babies. Meanwhile Trill goes rampaging through they city of Chicago. Can the rangers’ ages be restored before Chicago becomes rubble?

28. Tempting Offers: Tracking down a possible lead to a Time Cube piece the rangers arrive on the planet Venus. Once there the rangers become romantically involved with the natives. However, the natives take Love you to death a bit too literally.

29. Same Channel, Different Times (1): While fighting Lord Gamma forces the rangers meet a mysterious prophet who shows them visions of possible futures. Many of which the rangers loses.

30. I’m a Power Ranger? (2): Six average individuals dream of wild adventures of space and time travels, fighting aliens and rescuing people. But when a monster appears a mysterious figure known as the Watcher tries to convince these individuals they are the heroes they dream of.

31. Expect the Unexpected (3): With their memories restored the rangers learn everything they’ve experience has been created for them by Lord Gamma’s newest warrior, the Dark Master of Illusion.

32. To Where it all Began: Lord Gamma travels to 1993 to end the Power Ranger Legacy before it begins by killing Zordon, Ninjor and the first team of power rangers.

33/34. All or Nothing pt 1 & 2: Tired of losing to the rangers, Lord Gamma unleashes his full army of cybermen, monsters and surprise guest, the Ranger Slayers, against the rangers.

35. Day Off: The Watcher sends the Rangers to a tropical planet for the rangers to relax. However, their vacation is cut short when an ancient evil is release. Its up to the rangers to save the day once again. (occurs before the 5 part series finale)

Well, counting Titanium_Dragonzord's quantum ranger, we've got a team of 5 - Red, Blue, Yellow, Black and (sort of) Pink. The time/space traveller theme makes it exceptionally easy to introduce other rangers later, and perhaps we'll get some more interest if the game is seem to work well.

Of all the ideas posted, the first ones seem to be the best starting points: Ghosts of Ranger's Past, Going out with a boom and Civil War play as fairly straight "Rangers vs Bad Guys" which gives a chance to get some style going.

I'm thinking about how to start the ep so look for it within the next 24 hrs. Oh I forgot to mention this. I will play Lord Gamma, all other monsters and foot soldiers can be played by you guys when you see fit. Monster/foot soldiers battles should span a couple of posts. If your character has a battlizer, megabattle or some type of suped up weapon it should be use as a finisher and after a few post of battling. If you want to introduce a new weapon not seen in the series please post here or send me a pm. Yeah I think that's everything...if you guys have questions please holla at me.

Game started...intros can be either ranger or civilian...also base on the bio applications we going with the notion you have already met the Watcher, been informed of the mission and recruited. You know the are other rangers on your team but, not who just yet.

Sorry guys I am in training all this week and these last few days have been long. Yesterday I ran off one day of sleep which wasn't too bad it made going to bed last night easier. Once again we are coming to the end of episode, I thinking a few posts from everybody will wrap things up. Just a few notes the item retrieved by Tideus will be a clue to where the time cube piece is, since the rangers have the suspected time cube piece the bad guys will get Gormax's spear, and the rangers will return to 2009 at the end of the episode.

I do have one question is Lava Loc giant size? I ask because it seem normal size until I saw the Drill diver and Shogun zord fighting it.

Yeah, he's always been meant to be giant - something big enough to aggravate the eruption of the volcano. Not that it matters, there are enough instances of Rangers using their normal weapons to combat giant monsters.

I have a possible solution. Once the Rangers return to 2009, EJ could appear as the new Red Time Force Ranger. Upon her death, the Watcher could then inform her as to why, give her an option of changing her own future.

That is not a bad idea and I think I have a way that would could work into future story lines.

EJ saved Nick's life by taking a direct hit from the Lava Lizard. Lanie brings Nick and the near death EJ on to the drill driver. Both attempt to wake EJ while Tideus fights the Lava Loc in his zord. Bradley and Robby went into the city to save the citizens but, found cybermen attacking instead. A small fight broke out between the henchmen and rangers. Trill debating whether join the fight finally locates the "time cube piece" in the yellow shogun zord. He gives chases after Tideus for the time cube piece.

Direction: Hmmm maybe trying to talk to EJ keep her conscious if possible or help Tideus fight Trill if the time comes, you could also begin hearing the telepathic link to the vortex manipulator. My feelings are we are only a few post to the end...with the rangers leaving before engaging in another battle.

Alright just like last time another member will start off the episode and then everybody else will pick up from that point. This time DTGR will kick off episode 3: Civil War.

-Necklace researching
-Familiarizing yourself with Hartford Mansion (this will be our temp base for now)

I think the best route to go is Lord Gamma's future interference causes Andrew to select a second pink ranger when the Watcher states EJ was suppose to die. However, EJ's death did not occur and thus time attempted to rid itself of two pink drive ranger.

If anyone has a differing more logical explanation please post here before speaking for Mr. Hartford.

Maybe due to our interference with past events slightly altered History, meaning EJ never became a Ranger, but seeing as she was already a Ranger in the past, an anomaly occured, resulting in 2 Pink Drive Rangers. Now, one has to step down for the sake of the other

It's a good explanation, but runs the risk of making Andrew seem quite heartless - sending EJ off knowing she was going to die.

A better option would be to keep things vague - the Watcher dictated to Hartford that he should recruit Laine, and assisted him in creating a second set of pink powers - which still leaves an opening for EJ later (RPM Silver? Can't think of any other female 'extra' rangers).

Thank you everyone for your input...right now EJ is just a civilian...I'm not sure having her resume another season's powers is the best route to take...even though I would like to fill the Red Time force ranger spot...as always everyone is doing a good job progressing the story...remember Tideus will be out of play as Setekhite will be out for a while.

Once again thank you for the input at this moment EJ is a former power ranger. I'm not sure if she'll return as a ranger. If she does it would be within the OO rangers...so she would return as the yellow ranger...if by the time that did happen a new cast member had not already request to play the yellow ranger.

I'm going to be off the board for the next 3 weeks or so (taking a holiday). The idea I've set up is that Tideus has accidentally triggered the manipulator and zapped himself to Cortex - leaving the manipulator itself behind, with the coordinates on it. Hopefully the team will find him at some point down the line, but hey, he's a big aquitian... :)
