If you've seen the Turbo movie and a year or what later the PRiS seasons, you might have seen that Maligore is Dark's 'body double'. Maligore is smaller than Dark Spectar, but their likenesses... What is the explaination of this?

i think it was a mistake of saban who cheaply reused the costume. since a lot of people say the movie sucked i think he figured no1 saw the movie so it was ok to use it again. but i liked the both movies equaly.

this would be the other i just thought of after i posted my reply (i keep doing that) they could be of the same species of firey creatures. also a samll chance they could be realted but i dought that. or maybe maligore survived the defeat as so many monsters do & came back. but i am sure the real reason is what i said in my first post

I don't think Maligore came back. Darkonda said in Countdown to Dest. that Dark Spectar was planet-size (he wanted to blast him up with Astronema's Planet-Blaster), so this Maligore is pint size.
Exactly the same person/monster/whatever couldn't be it. Only related, maybe...

In From out of Nowhere Divatox mentions how Dark Specter looks so much like Maligore. DS has no sentai equilivent AFAIK, and Saban wanted a good costume for this evil mastermind, so they found Maligores in a cupboard and used it I guess.

ok, i just want top point out the in the movies, nothing that happened in the move directly affected the show, not at the time anyway, and i do think that it was pretty much the same charector, but just with a different name.

Cheap. It was just the same costume and they figured us kiddies at home wouldn't notice.

Fact is Maligore was only in Turbo: APRM, and was mentioned once or twice in the show. They probably expected people to just completely forget about Maligore as he wasn't ever referred to much.

That, and they were just being cheap:)

I think Dark Spector is darker than Maligore

I don't believe Maligore and Dark Specter are related at all.

In response to BT's post, it definitely wasn't a mistake by the Production Crew. They knew the Dark Specter costume was indeed the Maligore costume from the movie.

MiC is correct but only partially. Dark Specter technically did have a Sentai counterpart but not one that had a suit. Apparently they were planning on using the Goldgoyle suit for their Dark Specter suit but the Goldgoyle suit didn't hold up well so they opted for the Maligore suit.

Also of course the crew was being cheap. It's nothing new with them reusing old suits for new monsters. It has happened countless times over the years.

Turkey Jerk. Grumble the Magic Elf. Storybook Rangers Snow Monster.
Plague Patrollers. Repellator.

Metal Mangler. A bunch of monsters in the recruiting scene in the episode with the Torch Tiger monster.

The monster in the Ninja Turtles/Space crossover.

Brunt, the monster in the episode that captured the GalactaBeasts.

The first demon Lightspeed Rescue destroyed.

The Mut-Orgs.

Need I say more?

Yeah. the Psycho Ranger Mutant Suits appearing everywhere at C2D.

Apparently they were actually planning to relate Maligore and Dark Specter. They were just going to say that Maligore was like the Baby of their Race and that Dark Specter was an Adult of their Race. I can't remember where I read it though =/

who knows. I've never heard that anywhere.... however now that you've mentioned it, I do seem to recall that being part of Amit's original plans for "Forever Red" before Koichi telling him that he wanted them to use these machine (Beetleborgs/Astral Borgs) suits.

I wonder if he even knew they were from Beetleborgs considering he's only done work on Power Rangers, Super Sentai and Kamen Rider.
