Was the Astro Megazord really a Megazord?

It was simply a transforming zord, but that alone does not a megazord make.


The rescuezords had humanoid modes, but were not indiviual megazords.


For that matter the Delta Megazord was not a megazord either.

Only the Mega Voyager was technically a megazord in PRIS.

Yeah it cant become the astromegazord withonly its own components. It needed the shuttle. If 2 dont make a megazord, then the thundermegazord isnt one either. Cause only hunter and blakes zords are needed to form it.

Timeshadow is a question though, same for qrex.

What about the Mega Voyager? It's not called a megazord, but I still consider it one since it consists of 5 seperate forming zords.

The Delta Megazord is really the only exception. The Astro Megazord is a two parter like the second Thunder Megazord. Although thinks like the Time Shadow and Quantasaurus Rex, I don't consider Megazords. I think lately they just use term "Megazord" all willy nilly.

Yeah, that's ridiculous. The White TIgerzord is not a Megazord by itself. The Mega Tigerzord is somewhat of a Megazord, just the title isn't needed like the Defender Torozord.

The Rescuezords (in high stance mode) were no smaller than your average robot. It was about the same size as the Robo Racer, which also wasn't a Megazord, but I think you get my point.

I believe a megazord is just a more complicated zord. Like the tigerzord or samuari star megazord or the delta megazord are all more advanced then the rescue zords in robot mode. I mean there structure is totally different. Also you can argue that the delta zord is a megazord because it splits up when combining with the astromegazord into like 5 different peices which could be considered zords.

Basicly, to me, a Megazord MUST be a human shape, AND be able to perform a finishing move. And, while i dont think Delta had one, just look at it. It is obviously in the same class as the Ninja megazord.

As far as I'm concerned, any large, major zord that is capable of transforming into a humanoid robot mode (or only has that mode), and is capable of effectively fighting a monster uncombined with other zords is a Megazord.
Astro Megazord, Delta Megazord, Defender Torozord, Q-Rex, Shadow Megazord, and Samurai Star Megazord are definitely Megazords. They can all kick butt uncombined, either alone or supporting a multipart Megazord.
Red Dragon Thunderzord, White Tiger Thunderzord, the Battle Borgs, Super Zeo Zords, Turbo Rescuezords, Robo Racer, and Max Solarzord are more dubious, but I do not regard them as Megazords. These either spend most of their time combined with other zords during battle, or were by themselves mostly ineffective.

that's actually factually incorrect if it was just a transforming zord then the Megazord wouldn't have needed the Shuttle at all but it needed the Shuttle and the Megaship in order to form the Megazord so yes that alone does make it a Megazord but you do have an argument for the Delta Megazord as well as the Mega Winger since they were just transforming zords but the Mega Voyager was most definitely a Megazord.

bad comparison since the Samurai Star is just a single component that transforms from helicopter to human mode while the Astro Megazord is a combination of 2 components the ship and the Shuttle so you should try that again.

yes you're right about the Red Dragonzord and Tigerzord but I do agree that their classification would be iffy same with the Battle Borgs and Rescuezords. I don't know if the Defender Torozord but if you go by the current naming scheme it would be considered one. I don't know about the Robo Racer but its Battle Mode would probably be considered one.
