I'm sorry. But isn't Power Rangers just a copy of Voltron?

Actually, this is an extremely done to death question in this fandom. Power Rangers gets its action footage from Super Sentai in Japan. Which predates Voltron, whose source material is a Japanese material called Golion. Golion was actualy made by Toei. Which is the same production company that does Super Sentai. So its not a copy. Really, the whome idea of a team of five heros and/or mecha is common in Japanese anime or live action toku.

Plus its not like the Voltron characters could morph. They had their own mecha.

Copy Voltron? They copy Super Sentai. Both have big robots, thats where the similarities end.

I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of us fans who were older got into PR because of Voltron. Not that it is a copy by any close margin.

Power Rangers definitely didn't copy Voltron.

Voltron was actually a lot darker than Power Rangers was early on.

Not as dark as Golion.

80s Kids weren't ready for Golion.

I'm glad I didn't watch Voltron is it was dark. Golion sounds like it must have been horrible.

Voltron was presented in a way to be suitable to its audience. It was a fun show most of the time. The villains were just very dark.
