In episode 22 of Lightspeed Rescue, Chad reunites with his old martial arts master, Mr. Tamashiro, who expresses disappointment in Chad for "following the wrong path". In fact, Chad's master goes as far as teaching a cyclops the same moves he taught Chad just to spite his former pupil. Chad defeats the monster and he and his master reconcile.

Firstly, why does Tamashiro have such a problem with Chad being a Ranger? Yes he says that he wanted Chad to be a world famous karate champion, but how many people can say they actually trained a super hero? And the fact that Chad 's identity is public means that he doesn't have to worry about his pupil's skills not becoming world famous.

Secondly, why was Chad becoming a karate champion so important to Tamshiro? Was Chad his only student? Was it like with Alyssa's father where he wanted to pass on his skills to a worthy successor and was dissapointed Chad wouldn't be that successor?

Thirdly, was this guy really so petty that he actually taught a demon the same skills he taught Chad just to spite him? A demon who was going to kill Chad, his friends and God knows how many other people?

Fourthly, why did Lightspeed Rescue let this man who was shown as willing to ally with demons have a tour around the Aquabase?

I think he had this idea that Chad was cheating because he was using his Ranger Powers. I agree it didn't make a lot of sense. Since the Master had this wierd idea of Chad winning trophies and seemed oblivious to the demons being evil. I wonder if this episode borrowed heavily from the Sentai and was.lost in translation? I remember Ray pointing out the hypocrisy of the teacher in is PRC review of the episode. Which is probably still up.

Chad's teacher had his priorities all mixed up. Chad was smart not to listen to him. Saving the world is far more noble than fighting in tournaments. The teacher should have been arrested for helping a demon. He was a traitor.

I think he was just cut off from the world and was niave. He learned his lesson the hard way and realized Chad was right.

His master was wrong. But at least he learned his lesson. I liked Chad he was kinda like the Adam of Lightspeed Rescue.
